Setting up a Facebook business page the right way

Short answer: A lot of local customers, especially over 35, still check Facebook for hours, events and whether a business is real. A complete page with the right details and a few recent posts does that job.

Setup

  1. Create it from a real personal profileFacebook pages are managed by people. Use the owner’s profile, with two-step sign-in on.
  2. Category and detailsThe most specific category, address or service area, hours, phone, website and a short description.
  3. Action buttonCall, Book, Order or Send message, whichever you actually want people to do.
  4. PhotosA clear logo as the profile picture and a real photo of the place or work as the cover.
  5. ReviewsTurn on recommendations so customers can leave them.
  6. Give access properlyAdd staff and agencies through Meta’s business tools with their own logins, never by sharing your password.

What to post

  • Events, with Facebook’s event feature.
  • Hours changes, closures and specials.
  • Real photos and short videos, often the same ones as Instagram.
  • Answers to messages, fast. Facebook shows how quickly you respond.

Questions

Do I need both Facebook and Instagram?

Depends on your customers. Many local businesses post to both from one place, since Meta connects them.

Can you manage our Facebook page?

Yes, as part of our social media plans, with the page staying in your name.
