Email security and DMARC setup, Myrtle Beach, SC

Nobody sends email as you. Not even close.

The most common way a small business gets hurt online isn't a hacked website. It's an invoice, a wiring change or a "new bank details" message sent from the business's own address, by someone who isn't the business. Of the 33 Grand Strand business sites we checked for it in October 2026, 29 did nothing to stop that. We set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC, enforce them, lock down the mailboxes, and keep watching the records so they stay that way.

What we set up

Spoofing, forgery and takeover, closed off in order.

Every sender found first

Your mail provider, your website's form, your invoicing tool, the newsletter, the booking system. We find everything that sends mail as you before changing a record, so turning on protection never blocks your own mail.

SPF and DKIM, done right

One SPF record under the lookup limit, listing only the services that really send for you, and DKIM signing turned on at each of them, so mailboxes can prove a message came from you.

DMARC enforced, not just published

Most setup guides stop at p=none, which tells Gmail and Outlook to watch forged mail and deliver it anyway. We move you to quarantine, then reject, once your own mail passes, so a forgery from your exact address is refused.

Mailboxes locked down

Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace: two-step sign-in on every account, old sessions signed out, and a look for the forwarding rules and connected apps attackers leave behind when they've been reading a mailbox quietly.

Look-alike domains taken off the table

The obvious misspellings and other endings of your domain registered and pointed at your real site, so nobody can send from one letter off.

Copy a wire fraud warning →

Watched every month

A record changed by a new tool, a provider that stopped signing, a second DMARC record someone added by mistake. We re-check every month and fix what drifted, with a short note on what changed.

Why it matters

Your address moves money. Treat it that way.

Business email compromise is the fraud where a criminal sends a payment request, a changed wiring instruction or a fake invoice that looks like it came from you, or takes over a real mailbox and sends it from there. It works because customers trust your name. The fix for the first half is three DNS records set correctly and enforced; the fix for the second is two-step sign-in and someone looking for the signs.

It also helps your real mail. Gmail and Yahoo now expect bulk senders to authenticate, and properly signed mail from a domain with an enforced DMARC policy lands in spam less often. Why your business email lands in spam explains the rest.

Email security is included in every care plan, from $249 a month. On its own, it is part of our fixes, which start at $450, quoted line by line before we start. Questions: 843-331-6339.

Questions

Straight answers.

What is DMARC, in plain words?

A public instruction, published in your domain's DNS, that tells Gmail, Outlook and every other mailbox what to do with mail that claims to be from you but fails the checks. Set to reject, it means forged mail is refused. Set to none, it means forged mail is delivered.

Will turning on DMARC break our email?

Not the way we do it. We find every service that sends as you first, make each one pass, and move from quarantine to reject only once the reports show your real mail is clean.

We use Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. Isn't that already secure?

The mailbox service is. Your domain's DNS records aren't part of it, and those are what stop forgery. Two-step sign-in also has to be turned on per account, and many offices never did.

What does it cost?

Included in every care plan from $249 a month. As a one-time fix it starts at $450, quoted in writing first. The forgery check on our site is free and shows where you stand in a few seconds.

Our email account was already taken over. What now?

Call us the same day. Taken-over business email is one of the three things our incident response covers: sessions signed out, rules and apps removed, passwords reset, records fixed, and help wording the warning to your clients.
