  • Aug 20, 2026Windmill is an open-source developer platform for internal code: APIs, background jobs, workflows and UIs.CVE-2026-54136 · Other software · windmill-labs · reported by GitHubMedium 5.1

Windmill is an open-source developer platform for internal code: APIs, background jobs, workflows and UIs. Prior to 1.715.0, a resource-scoped API token could read script contents outside its allowed path scope through GET /api/w/{workspace}/scripts/list_search. The route-level scope middleware validated the token domain and action but did not enforce the resource/path segment, and the list_search_scripts handler had no additional check_scopes call or per-row filtering before returning script path and content fields. A token such as scripts:read:f/allowed/* could therefore receive source code for unrelated paths in the same workspace, potentially disclosing internal automation logic, integration details, business logic, inline configuration, or hardcoded secrets and credentials. Exploitation required possession of a valid scoped API token for the workspace but did not require administrator privileges. This issue is fixed in version 1.715.0.

  • Aug 11, 2026A missing authorization vulnerability in Windmill Labs Windmill through 1.783.0 allows authenticated operators to write job progress and read job metrics for anCVE-2026-72542 · Other software · Windmill Labs · reported by 309f9ea4-e3e9-4c6c-b79d-e8eb01244f2cMedium 5.4

A missing authorization vulnerability in Windmill Labs Windmill through 1.783.0 allows authenticated operators to write job progress and read job metrics for any job in the workspace regardless of ownership. The job_metrics handlers accept no authorization extractor, bypassing workspace-level access controls. An operator can monitor sensitive job execution data and inject misleading progress for jobs they do not own.

  • Aug 11, 2026A missing authorization vulnerability in Windmill Labs Windmill through 1.783.0 allows any authenticated workspace member to overwrite any resource type schema CVE-2026-72541 · Other software · Windmill Labs · reported by 309f9ea4-e3e9-4c6c-b79d-e8eb01244f2cMedium 6.5

A missing authorization vulnerability in Windmill Labs Windmill through 1.783.0 allows any authenticated workspace member to overwrite any resource type schema via the update_resource_type endpoint. The endpoint omits the administrator permission check that the corresponding delete_resource_type endpoint enforces. An attacker with workspace member privileges can corrupt resource type definitions, breaking workflows that depend on them.

  • Aug 11, 2026An information disclosure vulnerability in Windmill Labs Windmill through 1.783.0 allows any authenticated workspace member to read legacy ownerless draft scripCVE-2026-72539 · Other software · Windmill Labs · reported by 309f9ea4-e3e9-4c6c-b79d-e8eb01244f2cMedium 6.5

An information disclosure vulnerability in Windmill Labs Windmill through 1.783.0 allows any authenticated workspace member to read legacy ownerless draft scripts that contain plaintext resource credentials. Drafts with a null owner email bypass ACL enforcement and are returned to any workspace member who queries the drafts endpoint. Sensitive credentials stored in these drafts are exposed across ACL boundaries.

Windmill prior to 1.703.2 contains an incorrect default permissions vulnerability in nsjail sandbox configuration files where /etc is bind-mounted without read-write restrictions, allowing authenticated users to write arbitrary entries to /etc/hosts, /etc/resolv.conf, and /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt from within script execution sandboxes. Attackers can exploit persistent poisoned entries across all subsequent script executions on the same worker pod to redirect hostnames, intercept DNS queries, perform transparent HTTPS man-in-the-middle attacks, and intercept WM_TOKEN JWTs to gain workspace-admin access to other users' workspaces.

Windmill CE and EE versions 1.276.0 through 1.603.2 contain an SQL injection vulnerability in the folder ownership management functionality that allows authenticated attackers to inject SQL through the owner parameter. An attacker can use the injection to read sensitive data such as the JWT signing secret and administrative user identifiers, forge an administrative token, and then execute arbitrary code via the workflow execution endpoints.

  • Apr 7, 2026Windmill versions 1.56.0 through 1.614.0 contain a missing authorization vulnerability that allows users with the Operator role to perform prohibited entity creCVE-2026-22683 · Other software · Windmill Labs · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.7

Windmill versions 1.56.0 through 1.614.0 contain a missing authorization vulnerability that allows users with the Operator role to perform prohibited entity creation and modification actions via the backend API. Although Operators are documented and priced as unable to create or modify entities, the API does not enforce the Operator restriction on workspace endpoints, allowing an Operator to create and update scripts, flows, apps, and raw_apps. Since Operators can also execute scripts via the jobs API, this allows direct privilege escalation to remote code execution within the Windmill deployment. This vulnerability has existed since the introduction of the Operator role in version 1.56.0.

  • Mar 27, 2026Windmill is an open-source developer platform for internal code: APIs, background jobs, workflows and UIs.CVE-2026-33881 · Other software · windmill-labs · reported by GitHubHigh 7.3

Windmill is an open-source developer platform for internal code: APIs, background jobs, workflows and UIs. Workspace environment variable values are interpolated into JavaScript string literals without escaping single quotes in the NativeTS executor. A workspace admin who sets a custom environment variable with a value containing `'` can inject arbitrary JavaScript that executes inside every NativeTS script in that workspace. This is a code injection bug in `worker.rs`, not related to the sandbox/NSJAIL topic. Version 1.664.0 patches the issue.

  • Mar 6, 2026Windmill is an open-source developer platform for internal code: APIs, background jobs, workflows and UIs.CVE-2026-29059 · Other software · windmill-labs · reported by GitHubMedium 6.9

Windmill is an open-source developer platform for internal code: APIs, background jobs, workflows and UIs. Prior to version 1.603.3, an unauthenticated path traversal vulnerability exists in Windmill's get_log_file endpoint "(/api/w/{workspace}/jobs_u/get_log_file/{filename})". The filename parameter is concatenated into a file path without sanitization, allowing an attacker to read arbitrary files on the server using ../ sequences. This issue has been patched in version 1.603.3.

  • Feb 19, 2026Windmill is an open-source developer platform for internal code: APIs, background jobs, workflows and UIs.CVE-2026-26964 · Other software · windmill-labs · reported by GitHubLow 2.7

Windmill is an open-source developer platform for internal code: APIs, background jobs, workflows and UIs. Versions 1.634.6 and below allow non-admin users to obtain Slack OAuth client secrets, which should only be accessible to workspace administrators. The GET /api/w/{workspace}/workspaces/get_settings endpoint returns the slack_oauth_client_secret to any authenticated workspace member, regardless of their admin status. It is expected behavior for non-admin users see a redacted version of workspace settings, as some of them are necessary for the frontend to behave correctly even for non-admins. However, the Slack configuration should not be visible to non-admins. This is a legacy issue where the setting was stored as a plain value instead of using $variable indirection, and it was never added to the redaction logic. This issue has been fixed in version 1.635.0.
