  • Sep 29, 2026U-Boot before 2026.10-rc5 contains a use-after-free vulnerability in the httpc_recv_cb() function within the lwIP wget implementation.CVE-2026-74222 · Other software · u-boot · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.8

    U-Boot before 2026.10-rc5 contains a use-after-free vulnerability in the httpc_recv_cb() function within the lwIP wget implementation. When HTTP data storage fails, the callback frees the connection PCB but returns ERR_BUF instead of ERR_ABRT, causing the TCP input path to access released memory and crash the bootloader.

  • Aug 25, 2026GNU wget is vulnerable to denial of service in its FTP OPIE/S-KEY authentication functionality.CVE-2026-16599 · Other software · GNU · reported by cvd@cert.plMedium 5.1

    GNU wget is vulnerable to denial of service in its FTP OPIE/S-KEY authentication functionality. The server-supplied sequence number from the FTP challenge line is used as an iteration count for an MD5 key-derivation loop without any upper bound validation. A malicious FTP server or a network attacker positioned to intercept FTP traffic can send a crafted OPIE challenge with a sequence number near INT_MAX, causing wget to perform up to approximately 2.1 billion MD5 computations and suspend for some time. The --timeout option does not mitigate this because it applies only to network I/O, not CPU computation. This issue was fixed in commit e9697d98e7249b0f68a6be040a4f3dcc5bc101fa

  • Jul 10, 2026GNU Wget does not validate the IP address provided by an FTP PASV response while operating in FTP passive mode.CVE-2026-15146 · Other software · GNU wget · reported by cret@cert.orgMedium 5.9

    GNU Wget does not validate the IP address provided by an FTP PASV response while operating in FTP passive mode. A malicious FTP server, or an HTTP server that redirects to an FTP URL, can exploit this behavior to redirect Wget’s data connection to an arbitrary IP address and port. This allows an attacker to forge server-side requests (SSRF) from the machine running Wget, potentially accessing localhost services or internal network resources.

    GNU Wget through 1.25.0, fixed in commit dd692d9, contains a heap buffer overflow vulnerability in the html_quote_string() function in src/convert.c that allows a remote attacker to trigger memory corruption by supplying a crafted HTML attribute with a large number of characters requiring entity encoding. A server-supplied HTML attribute causes a signed integer counter to overflow during output size accumulation, resulting in an undersized heap allocation and subsequent heap buffer overflow during the copy phase.

    GNU Wget through 1.25.0, fixed in commit c2640fe, contains a heap buffer overflow vulnerability in the convert_fname() function within src/url.c that allows remote attackers to trigger memory corruption through a server-supplied filename requiring character set conversion. • Jan 9, 2026A flaw was found in GNU Wget2.CVE-2025-69195 · Other software · GNU · reported by patrick@puiterwijk.orgHigh 7.6

    A flaw was found in GNU Wget2. This vulnerability, a stack-based buffer overflow, occurs in the filename sanitization logic when processing attacker-controlled URL paths, particularly when filename restriction options are active. A remote attacker can exploit this by providing a specially crafted URL, which, upon user interaction with wget2, can lead to memory corruption. This can cause the application to crash and potentially allow for further malicious activities.

  • Dec 31, 2025Cowrie versions prior to 2.9.0 contain a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the emulated shell implementation of wget and curl.CVE-2025-34469 · Other software · Cowrie · reported by VulnCheckMedium 6.9

    Cowrie versions prior to 2.9.0 contain a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the emulated shell implementation of wget and curl. In the default emulated shell configuration, these command emulations perform real outbound HTTP requests to attacker-supplied destinations. Because no outbound request rate limiting was enforced, unauthenticated remote attackers could repeatedly invoke these commands to generate unbounded HTTP traffic toward arbitrary third-party targets, allowing the Cowrie honeypot to be abused as a denial-of-service amplification node and masking the attacker’s true source address behind the honeypot’s IP.

When the response is sent chunked in wget before 1.19.2, the chunk parser uses strtol() to read each chunk's length, but doesn't check that the chunk length is a non-negative number. The code then tries to read the chunk in pieces of 8192 bytes by using the MIN() macro, but ends up passing the negative chunk length to retr.c:fd_read(). As fd_read() takes an int argument, the high 32 bits of the chunk length are discarded, leaving fd_read() with a completely attacker controlled length argument. Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
