Oct 20, 2026Bulwark Webmail is a self-hosted webmail client for Stalwart Mail Server.CVE-2026-113728 · Other software · bulwarkmail · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
Bulwark Webmail is a self-hosted webmail client for Stalwart Mail Server. Prior to 1.9.2, the unauthenticated POST /api/fetch-ical endpoint validates a caller-supplied hostname with one DNS lookup and then passes the URL to fetch, which performs a separate lookup for the socket connection. An attacker controlling authoritative DNS can return a public address during validation and then rebind the hostname to a loopback, private, link-local, or cloud metadata address for the connection, causing the server to return up to 10 MB of an internal HTTP or HTTPS response. The same check-then-fetch pattern also existed in authenticated JMAP login and TOTP token-exchange flows. This issue is fixed in version 1.9.2.

Aug 26, 2026Stalwart Mail Server does not compare an OAuth redirect target against any registered destination in its default configuration.CVE-2026-81036 · Other software · stalwartlabs · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.5
Stalwart Mail Server does not compare an OAuth redirect target against any registered destination in its default configuration. The validation routine in crates/http/src/auth/oauth/registration.rs returns success immediately when the client-authentication requirement is disabled, and that requirement is false in the shipped settings, so the supplied redirect value is neither matched against a registered client nor otherwise constrained. The value is stored with the authorization code, and the login page reads it back and sends the browser to it with the code attached. A request naming a destination the attacker controls therefore delivers a valid authorization code there once the account holder authenticates, and because the token endpoint checks only that the redirect presented at exchange matches the one recorded with the code, the same party can exchange it for access and refresh tokens and read the account's mail.

Apr 6, 2026Bulwark Webmail is a self-hosted webmail client for Stalwart Mail Server.CVE-2026-35391 · Other software · bulwarkmail · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7
Bulwark Webmail is a self-hosted webmail client for Stalwart Mail Server. Prior to 1.4.11, the getClientIP() function in lib/admin/session.ts trusted the first (leftmost) entry of the X-Forwarded-For header, which is fully controlled by the client. An attacker could forge their source IP address to bypass IP-based rate limiting (enabling brute-force attacks against the admin login) or forge audit log entries (making malicious activity appear to originate from arbitrary IP addresses). This vulnerability is fixed in 1.4.11.

Apr 6, 2026Bulwark Webmail is a self-hosted webmail client for Stalwart Mail Server.CVE-2026-35390 · Other software · bulwarkmail · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3
Bulwark Webmail is a self-hosted webmail client for Stalwart Mail Server. Prior to 1.4.11, the reverse proxy (proxy.ts) set the Content-Security-Policy-Report-Only header instead of the enforcing Content-Security-Policy header. This means cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks were logged but not blocked. Any user who could inject script content (e.g., via crafted email HTML) could execute arbitrary JavaScript in the context of the application, potentially stealing session tokens or performing actions on behalf of the user. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.4.11.

Apr 6, 2026Bulwark Webmail is a self-hosted webmail client for Stalwart Mail Server.CVE-2026-35389 · Other software · bulwarkmail · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7
Bulwark Webmail is a self-hosted webmail client for Stalwart Mail Server. Prior to 1.4.11, S/MIME signature verification did not validate the certificate trust chain (checkChain: false). Any email signed with a self-signed or untrusted certificate was displayed as having a valid signature. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.4.11.

Apr 2, 2026Bulwark Webmail is a self-hosted webmail client for Stalwart Mail Server.CVE-2026-34834 · Other software · bulwarkmail · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7
Bulwark Webmail is a self-hosted webmail client for Stalwart Mail Server. Prior to version 1.4.10, the verifyIdentity() function contained logic that returned true if no session cookies were present. This allowed unauthenticated attackers to bypass security checks and access/modify user settings via the /api/settings endpoint by providing arbitrary headers. This issue has been patched in version 1.4.10.

Apr 2, 2026Bulwark Webmail is a self-hosted webmail client for Stalwart Mail Server.CVE-2026-34833 · Other software · bulwarkmail · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7
Bulwark Webmail is a self-hosted webmail client for Stalwart Mail Server. Prior to version 1.4.10, the GET /api/auth/session endpoint previously included the user's plaintext password in the JSON response. This exposed credentials to browser logs, local caches, and network proxie. This issue has been patched in version 1.4.10.

Feb 19, 2026Stalwart is a mail and collaboration server.CVE-2026-26312 · Other software · stalwartlabs · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5
Stalwart is a mail and collaboration server. A denial-of-service vulnerability exists in Stalwart Mail Server versions 0.13.0 through 0.15.4 where accessing a specially crafted email containing malformed nested `message/rfc822` MIME parts via IMAP or JMAP causes excessive CPU and memory consumption, potentially leading to an out-of-memory condition and server crash. The malformed structure causes the `mail-parser` crate to produce cyclical references in its parsed representation, which Stalwart then follows indefinitely. Version 0.15.5 contains a patch.

Oct 2, 2025Stalwart is a mail and collaboration server.CVE-2025-61600 · Other software · stalwartlabs · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
Stalwart is a mail and collaboration server. Versions 0.13.3 and below contain an unbounded memory allocation vulnerability in the IMAP protocol parser which allows remote attackers to exhaust server memory, potentially triggering the system's out-of-memory (OOM) killer and causing a denial of service. The CommandParser implementation enforces size limits on its dynamic buffer in most parsing states, but several state handlers omit these validation checks. This issue is fixed in version 0.13.4. A workaround for this issue is to implement rate limiting and connection monitoring at the network level, however this does not provide complete protection.

Sep 10, 2025Stalwart is a mail and collaboration server.CVE-2025-59045 · Other software · stalwartlabs · reported by GitHubHigh 7.1
Stalwart is a mail and collaboration server. Starting in version 0.12.0 and prior to version 0.13.3, a memory exhaustion vulnerability exists in Stalwart's CalDAV implementation that allows authenticated attackers to cause denial-of-service by triggering unbounded memory consumption through recurring event expansion. An authenticated attacker can crash the Stalwart server by creating recurring events with large payloads and triggering their expansion through CalDAV REPORT requests. A single malicious request expanding 300 events with 1000-character descriptions can consume up to 2 GB of memory. The vulnerability exists in the `ArchivedCalendarEventData.expand` function, which processes CalDAV `REPORT` requests with event expansion. When a client requests recurring events in their expanded form using the `<C:expand>` element, the server stores all expanded event instances in memory without enforcing size limits. Users should upgrade to Stalwart version 0.13.3 or later to receive a fix. If immediate upgrading is not possible, implement memory limits at the container/system level; monitor server memory usage for unusual spikes; consider rate limiting CalDAV REPORT requests; and restri

May 16, 2024Stalwart Mail Server is an open-source mail server.CVE-2024-35187 · Other software · stalwartlabs · reported by GitHubCritical 9.1
Stalwart Mail Server is an open-source mail server. Prior to version 0.8.0, attackers who achieved Arbitrary Code Execution as the stalwart-mail user (including web interface admins) can gain complete root access to the system. Usually, system services are run as a separate user (not as root) to isolate an attacker with Arbitrary Code Execution to the current service. Therefore, other system services and the system itself remains protected in case of a successful attack. stalwart-mail runs as a separate user, but it can give itself full privileges again in a simple way, so this protection is practically ineffective. Server admins who handed out the admin credentials to the mail server, but didn't want to hand out complete root access to the system, as well as any attacked user when the attackers gained Arbitrary Code Execution using another vulnerability, may be vulnerable. Version 0.8.0 contains a patch for the issue.

May 15, 2024Stalwart Mail Server is an open-source mail server.CVE-2024-35179 · Other software · stalwartlabs · reported by GitHubMedium 6.8
Stalwart Mail Server is an open-source mail server. Prior to version 0.8.0, when using `RUN_AS_USER`, the specified user (and therefore, web interface admins) can read arbitrary files as root. This issue affects admins who have set up to run stalwart with `RUN_AS_USER` who handed out admin credentials to the mail server but expect these to only grant access according to the `RUN_AS_USER` and are attacked where the attackers managed to achieve Arbitrary Code Execution using another vulnerability. Version 0.8.0 contains a patch for the issue.
