  • Oct 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: io_uring/cancel: don't spin on local work the task can't run io_uring_cancel_generic() refCVE-2026-99130 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: io_uring/cancel: don't spin on local work the task can't run io_uring_cancel_generic() refuses to sleep while any ring on the exiting task's tctx has local work pending. It assumes the task is that ring's submitter and that the next io_uring_try_cancel_requests() pass will run the work. This does not hold for a ring that was still IORING_SETUP_R_DISABLED when the task got its tctx node from io_uring_create() or io_ringfd_register(). The submitter is set later by IORING_REGISTER_ENABLE_RINGS, possibly from another task, and only the submitter may run local work on an IORING_SETUP_DEFER_TASKRUN ring. To the exiting task the work stays pending forever, the loop never reaches schedule(), and the task trips the WARN_ON_ONCE() once and then spins in do_exit(). An unprivileged user can set this up at will by creating a disabled ring, having a child enable it and stop, posting to the ring with IORING_OP_MSG_RING and exiting with a request in flight that only the child can complete. The exiting thread burns a CPU until the child runs or dies, and with panic_on_warn set the WARN panics the kernel. Fix by skipping the sle

  • Oct 23, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mtd: spinand: fix NULL pointer dereference with no ECC engine When "nand-no-ecc-engine" isCVE-2026-98931 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mtd: spinand: fix NULL pointer dereference with no ECC engine When "nand-no-ecc-engine" is set in DT, nanddev_get_ecc_engine() takes the NAND_ECC_ENGINE_TYPE_NONE path and returns success while leaving nand->ecc.engine NULL. The SPI-NAND code nevertheless dereferences it unconditionally to test for a pipelined engine, so probing such a device oopses immediately. Rather than open-coding the test three times, add a nand_ecc_is_pipelined() helper to the NAND core that folds the NULL check into the integration comparison, and use it everywhere. Future callers then cannot reintroduce the problem.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: xfrm: reject unrepresentable espintcp transport headers ESP-in-TCP can hand xfrm packets whose transport header offset no longer fits after the stream parser trims the TCP envelope. The plain transport header reset truncates that offset and triggers the skb warning path. Use the careful transport-header helper and drop the skb through the existing XFRM error path when the offset cannot be represented.

  • Sep 24, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: au1000: move free_irq out of the close-time spinlocked section au1000_close() calls fCVE-2026-93815 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: au1000: move free_irq out of the close-time spinlocked section au1000_close() calls free_irq() while aup->lock is still held with spin_lock_irqsave(). free_irq() can sleep because it takes the IRQ descriptor request mutex, so it does not belong inside the close-time spinlocked section. This was found by our static analysis tool and then confirmed by manual review of the in-tree au1000_close() .ndo_stop path. The reviewed path keeps aup->lock held across the MAC reset, queue stop and free_irq(dev->irq, dev). A directed runtime validation kept that ndo_stop carrier and the same free_irq(dev->irq, dev) operation under the driver lock. Lockdep reported "BUG: sleeping function called from invalid context" and "Invalid wait context" while free_irq() was taking desc->request_mutex, with au1000_close() and free_irq() on the stack. Drop aup->lock before freeing the IRQ. The protected close-time work still stops the device and queue before IRQ teardown, but the sleepable IRQ core path now runs outside the spinlocked section.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Invalidate RCU pointers after final spin unlock In a sleepable BPF program, a spin lock can provide the only RCU protection for a kptr. The final bpf_spin_unlock() ends that protection, but the verifier leaves the pointer valid. Another CPU can then free the object before the pointer is used. A capability-limited runtime PoC triggered a task_struct use-after-free in __bpf_get_task_stack(). Record whether the program is in an RCU-protected context before releasing the lock. Invalidate RCU-protected pointers only when the unlock leaves the final such context. This preserves valid pointers in non-sleepable programs and inside an explicit RCU read-side section.

  • Sep 17, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clocksource/drivers/samsung_pwm: Switch to raw_spinlock_t type Samsung PWM timer might be CVE-2026-90208 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clocksource/drivers/samsung_pwm: Switch to raw_spinlock_t type Samsung PWM timer might be used as a clock source on some legacy systems. When PREEMPT_RT is enabled on ARM, regular spinlock is converted to a sleeping lock (mutex-based), which must not be used in atomic context such as hard interrupt handlers. Switch the samsung_pwm_lock to the raw_spinlock, which remains a true non-sleeping spinlock even under PREEMPT_RT.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/page_alloc: don't spin_trylock() in NMI on UP Patch series "mm/page_alloc: fixes for free_pages_nolock() on RT/UP". Pre-existing bugs found by Sashiko during review of this other series: https://lore.kernel.org/all/20260703-alloc-trylock-v5-0-c87b714e19d3@google.com/ I have not reproduced these bugs, and I suspect there is no real-world user that is affected by them. This patch (of 2): As noted in can_spin_trylock(), using this is unsafe in this context. commit 620b46ed6ae17 ("mm/page_alloc: return NULL early from alloc_frozen_pages_nolock() in NMI on UP") fixed this on the alloc side but missed the free side. Impact: If BPF programs using these features in NMI (probably tracing) are present on non-SMP builds this might crash the kernel and is probably exploitable by local attackers for privilege escalation.

  • Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: acpi/apei/ghes: Use raw_spinlock_t for CXL CPER work locks The CXL CPER work registration CVE-2026-89589 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: acpi/apei/ghes: Use raw_spinlock_t for CXL CPER work locks The CXL CPER work registration and unregistration helpers acquire cxl_cper_work_lock and cxl_cper_prot_err_work_lock with a spinlock guard(), which leaves local interrupts enabled. The corresponding post paths (cxl_cper_post_event(), cxl_cper_post_prot_err()) execute in hard IRQ context (they are called from the GHES error notification path) and acquire the same locks with an irqsave guard(). If a CPU is holding one of these locks via a spinlock guard() when a GHES interrupt arrives on the same CPU, the IRQ handler spins on the held lock waiting for it to release, while the lock holder is preempted by the IRQ. The result is a deadlock. Convert both locks from spinlock_t to raw_spinlock_t and use guard() at all call sites. On PREEMPT_RT kernels spinlock_t is backed by rt_mutex and sleeping from hard IRQ context is not permitted; raw_spinlock_t is safe in both contexts. Add WARN_ONCE to both register functions to surface double-registration bugs at runtime. Restructure both unregister functions to clear the global work pointer under the lock before call

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: espintcp: fix UAF during close ZDI reported and analyzed a race condition during close for espintcp sockets: espintcp_close() frees emsg->skb via kfree_skb() without holding any socket lock. Concurrently, the xfrm_trans_reinject work queue invokes esp_output_tcp_finish() -> espintcp_push_skb() -> espintcp_push_msgs() -> skb_send_sock_locked(), which reads the same skb as a data source. Fix this by adding a synchronize_rcu() call after resetting sk_prot, since esp_output_tcp_finish() runs under RCU and won't use a socket with sk_prot == &tcp_prot. Simply taking the socket lock in espintcp_close() could lead to leaks, if esp_output_tcp_finish() re-adds an skb in the slot we just freed. After this, the existing barrier() is no longer needed.

  • Sep 1, 2026Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability in ash-project ash lets a slow asynchronous read spin a scheduler thread at full CPU while the framework waits fCVE-2026-82743 · Other software · ash-project · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbLow 2.1

Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability in ash-project ash lets a slow asynchronous read spin a scheduler thread at full CPU while the framework waits for it. Ash.Actions.Read.AsyncLimiter.await_at_least_one/1 (lib/ash/actions/read/async_limiter.ex) waited for concurrent async read tasks by polling each with Task.yield(task, 0) in a tight loop rather than blocking. While every outstanding task is still running (a slow related-data load or calculation), the loop returns immediately and repeats, busy-spinning and holding a BEAM scheduler at full CPU for the whole duration of the slow read; concurrent slow reads tie up further schedulers. The fix waits with Task.yield_many (a non-blocking sweep followed by a blocking wait with timeout: :infinity), so the process sleeps until a task completes instead of spinning. This issue affects ash: from 2.19.0 before 3.32.2.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gpio: ml-ioh: use raw_spinlock_t for the register lock ioh_irq_type() is registered as the irq_chip .irq_set_type callback and takes chip->spinlock with spin_lock_irqsave(). This callback is reached from __setup_irq() -> __irq_set_trigger() -> chip->irq_set_type() while the caller holds desc->lock, a raw_spinlock_t, with hardirqs disabled. That context is not sleepable, but on PREEMPT_RT a regular spinlock_t is an rtmutex-backed sleeping lock, so acquiring it there is invalid. ioh_irq_enable() and ioh_irq_disable() take the same lock from the .irq_enable/.irq_disable callbacks, which are likewise invoked with desc->lock held. Convert the register lock to raw_spinlock_t. The same lock also serializes the GPIO direction/value callbacks and the suspend/resume register save/restore, and those critical sections only perform short sequences of MMIO register accesses (ioread32()/iowrite32()); the .irq_set_type callback additionally emits a dev_warn() on an unsupported type. None of these are sleepable operations, so keeping this register lock non-sleeping is appropriate for the irqchip callbacks and does not change

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rqspinlock: Reset tail when preserving queue on deadlock Currently, the destruction of the waiter queue is suppressed for rqspinlock in cases where a deadlock is detected. Deadlock checks happen relatively frequently (on entry for AA, within 1ms for ABBA), and waiter threads may not be involved in locking scenarios involving deadlocks. Thus, it is useful to not flush the queue and let other waiters take a stab at acquiring the lock after we detect a deadlock and exit. However, we need to follow the same logic as what we did previously for the waitq_timeout label: reset the tail, and if we cannot, signal the next waiter appropriately. In case of deadlocks, this signal would just mark the MCS node as unlocked, and in case of timeouts, it would signal RES_TIMEOUT_VAL. The difference thus is in the value propagated, which decides whether the queue remains active or gets flushed. Not doing the tail reset, and waiting for the next waiter can lead to cases where we are the final waiter, and thus no next waiter arrives, leading to intermittent stalls in this path. Once the next waiter does join, we will be unblocked. I

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gpio: pch: use raw_spinlock_t for the register lock pch_irq_type() is registered as the irq_chip .irq_set_type callback and takes chip->spinlock with spin_lock_irqsave(). This was confirmed on a PREEMPT_RT kernel with lockdep (PROVE_RAW_LOCK_NESTING and DEBUG_ATOMIC_SLEEP). In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: locking/rt: Fix the incorrect RCU protection in rt_spin_unlock() rt_spin_unlock() releases the RCU protection before unlocking the lock. That opens the door for the following UAF scenario: T1 T2 spin_lock(&p->lock); rcu_read_lock(); invalidate(p); p = rcu_dereference(ptr); rcu_assign_pointer(ptr, NULL); if (!p) return; spin_unlock(&p->lock); spin_lock(&p->lock) lock(&lock->lock); rcu_read_lock(); kfree_rcu(p); rcu_read_unlock(); .... spin_unlock(&p->lock) rcu_read_unlock(); // Ends grace period rcu_do_batch() kfree(p); UAF -> rt_mutex_cmpxchg_release(&lock->lock...) Regular spinlocks keep preemption disabled accross the unlock operation, which provides full RCU protection, but the RT substitution fails to resemble that. Same applies for the rwlock substitution. Move the rcu_read_unlock() invocation past the unlock operations to match the non-RT semantics. This makes it asymmetric vs. rt_xxx_lock(), but that's harmless as the caller needs to hold RCU read lock across the lock operation. The migrate_enable() call stays before the unlock operation because

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: lan743x: Initialize eth_syslock spinlock before use lan743x_hardware_init() calls pci11x1x_strap_get_status() during the PCI11x1x probe sequence. That helper acquires the Ethernet subsystem hardware lock via lan743x_hs_syslock_acquire(), which relies on adapter->eth_syslock_spinlock to serialize access. The spinlock is currently initialized only after the strap status is read. With CONFIG_DEBUG_SPINLOCK enabled, taking the zeroed initialized spinlock can trip the spinlock debug check. Fix by initializing adapter->eth_syslock_spinlock before reading the strap status so the probe path never attempts to lock an uninitialized spinlock.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommufd: Move vevent memory allocation outside spinlock The veventq memory allocation happens inside the spinlock. Given its depth is decided by the user space, this leaves a vulnerability, where userspace can allocate large queues to exhaust atomic memory reserves. Move the allocation outside the spinlock and use GFP_NOWAIT, which can fail fast under memory pressure without dipping into the GFP_ATOMIC reserves or direct-reclaiming from the threaded IRQ handler. On allocation failure, queue the lost_events_header (so userspace learns of the drop) and return -ENOMEM so the caller learns of the kernel-side memory pressure. This is intentionally distinct from the queue-overflow path, which also queues the lost_events_header but returns 0: a full queue is an expected userspace-pacing condition rather than a kernel error. A subsequent change will cap the upper bound of the veventq_depth.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/handshake: Use spin_lock_bh for hn_lock nvmet_tcp_state_change(), a socket callback that runs in BH context, can reach handshake_req_cancel() via nvmet_tcp_schedule_release_queue() and tls_handshake_cancel(). handshake_req_cancel() acquires hn->hn_lock with plain spin_lock(). If a process-context thread on the same CPU holds hn->hn_lock when a softirq invokes the cancel path, the lock attempt deadlocks. This is the only caller that invokes tls_handshake_cancel() from BH context; every other consumer calls it from process context. Deferring the cancel to process context in the NVMe target is not straightforward: nvmet_tcp_schedule_release_queue() must call tls_handshake_cancel() atomically with its state transition to DISCONNECTING. If the cancel were deferred, the handshake completion callback could fire in the window before the cancel runs, observe the unexpected state, and return without dropping its kref on the queue. Reworking that interlock is considerably more invasive than hardening the handshake lock. Convert all hn->hn_lock acquisitions from spin_lock/spin_unlock to spin_lock_bh/spin_unlock_bh

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: jitterentropy - replace long-held spinlock with mutex jent_kcapi_random() serializes the shared jitterentropy state, but it currently holds a spinlock across the jent_read_entropy() call. That path performs expensive jitter collection and SHA3 conditioning, so parallel readers can trigger stalls as contending waiters spin for the same lock. To prevent non-preemptible lock hold, replace rng->jent_lock with a mutex so contended readers sleep instead of spinning on a shared lock held across expensive entropy generation.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: espintcp: do not reuse an in-progress partial send espintcp keeps a single in-flight transmit in ctx->partial. Before building a new sk_msg, espintcp_sendmsg() first tries to flush that state through espintcp_push_msgs(). For blocking callers, espintcp_push_msgs() may return success even when the previous partial send is still pending. espintcp_sendmsg() would then reinitialize emsg->skmsg and reuse ctx->partial while the old transfer still owns that state. Do not rebuild the send message when ctx->partial is still in progress. If espintcp_push_msgs() returns with emsg->len still set, fail the new send instead of overwriting the live partial state. This is a memory-safety fix: reusing the live partial-send state can leave a stale offset attached to a new sk_msg and lead to an out-of- bounds read in the send path. tcp_sendmsg_locked() already handles waiting for send buffer memory, so the fix here is just to preserve espintcp's one-message-at-a-time transmit state.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: comedi: Reinit dev->spinlock between attachments to low-level drivers `struct comedi_device` is the main controlling structure for a COMEDI device created by the COMEDI subsystem. It contains a member `spinlock` containing a spin-lock that is initialized by the COMEDI subsystem, but is reserved for use by a low-level driver attached to the COMEDI device (at least since commit 25436dc9d84f ("Staging: comedi: remove RT code")). Some COMEDI devices (those created on initialization of the COMEDI subsystem when the "comedi.comedi_num_legacy_minors" parameter is non-zero) can be attached to different low-level drivers over their lifetime using the `COMEDI_DEVCONFIG` ioctl command. This can result in inconsistent lock states being reported when there is a mismatch in the spin-lock locking levels used by each low-level driver to which the COMEDI device has been attached. Fix it by reinitializing `dev->spinlock` before calling the low-level driver's `attach` function pointer if `CONFIG_LOCKDEP` is enabled.

However, dwc2_hsotg_udc_stop() calls dwc2_gadget_exit_clock_gating() without holding the lock. This leads to: - spin_unlock on a lock that is not held (undefined behavior) - The lock remaining held after dwc2_gadget_exit_clock_gating() returns, causing a deadlock when spin_lock_irqsave() is called later in the same function. Fix this by acquiring hsotg->lock before calling dwc2_gadget_exit_clock_gating() and releasing it afterwards, which satisfies the locking requirement of the call_gadget() macro.

After some debugging I found out that the queues, which f_hid registers via poll_wait were the problem. These were initialized using init_waitqueue_head inside hidg_bind. So effectively, the bind function re-initialized the queues while there were still items in them. The solution is to move the initialization from hidg_bind to hidg_alloc to extend their lifetimes to the lifetime of the function instance. Additionally, I found many other possibly problematic init calls in the bind function, which I moved as well.

This avoids invalid wait context reported by the kernel due to the async handler taking BH spinlock: [ 805.726977] ============================= [ 805.726991] [ BUG: Invalid wait context ] [ 805.727006] 7.0.0-rc2-net-devq-031026+ #28 Tainted: G S OE [ 805.727026] ----------------------------- [ 805.727038] kworker/u261:0/572 is trying to lock: [ 805.727051] ff190da6a8dbb6a0 (&vport_config->mac_filter_list_lock){+...}-{3:3}, at: idpf_mac_filter_async_handler+0xe9/0x260 [idpf] [ 805.727099] other info that might help us debug this: [ 805.727111] context-{5:5} [ 805.727119] 3 locks held by kworker/u261:0/572: [ 805.727132] #0: ff190da6db3e6148 ((wq_completion)idpf-0000:83:00.0-mbx){+.+.}-{0:0}, at: process_one_work+0x4b5/0x730 [ 805.727163] #1: ff3c6f0a6131fe50 ((work_completion)(&(&adapter->mb

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: esp: fix skb leak with espintcp and async crypto When the TX queue for espintcp is full, esp_output_tail_tcp will return an error and not free the skb, because with synchronous crypto, the common xfrm output code will drop the packet for us. With async crypto (esp_output_done), we need to drop the skb when esp_output_tail_tcp returns an error.

  • Apr 20, 2026Spinnaker is an open source, multi-cloud continuous delivery platform.CVE-2026-32613 · Other software · spinnaker · reported by GitHubCritical 9.9

Spinnaker is an open source, multi-cloud continuous delivery platform. Echo like some other services, uses SPeL (Spring Expression Language) to process information - specifically around expected artifacts. In versions prior to 2026.1.0, 2026.0.1, 2025.4.2, and 2025.3.2, unlike orca, it was NOT restricting that context to a set of trusted classes, but allowing FULL JVM access. This enabled a user to use arbitrary java classes which allow deep access to the system. This enabled the ability to invoke commands, access files, etc. Versions 2026.1.0, 2026.0.1, 2025.4.2, and 2025.3.2 contain a patch. As a workaround, disable echo entirely.

Spinnaker is an open source, multi-cloud continuous delivery platform. In versions prior to 2026.1.0, 2026.0.1, 2025.4.2, and 2025.3.2, a bad actor can execute arbitrary commands very simply on the clouddriver pods. This can expose credentials, remove files, or inject resources easily. Versions 2026.1.0, 2026.0.1, 2025.4.2, and 2025.3.2 contain a patch. As a workaround, disable the gitrepo artifact types.

  • Mar 17, 2026### Impact Spinnaker updated URL Validation logic on user input to provide sanitation on user inputted URLs for clouddriver.CVE-2026-25534 · Other software · io.spinnaker.clouddriver · reported by GitHubCritical 9.1

    ### Impact Spinnaker updated URL Validation logic on user input to provide sanitation on user inputted URLs for clouddriver. However, they missed that Java URL objects do not correctly handle underscores on parsing. This led to a bypass of the previous CVE (CVE-2025-61916) through the use of carefully crafted URLs. Note, Spinnaker found this not just in that CVE, but in the existing URL validations in Orca fromUrl expression handling. This CVE impacts BOTH artifacts as a result. ### Patches This has been merged and will be available in versions 2025.4.1, 2025.3.1, 2025.2.4 and 2026.0.0. ### Workarounds You can disable the various artifacts on this system to work around these limits.

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
