  • Oct 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: spi: imx: fix slab corruption from undersized DMA bounce buffers Since commit faa8e404ad8eCVE-2026-99164 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: spi: imx: fix slab corruption from undersized DMA bounce buffers Since commit faa8e404ad8e ("spi: imx: support dynamic burst length for ECSPI DMA mode"), the driver allocates its private DMA TX/RX buffers with kzalloc(dma_len), where dma_len is only rounded up to 4 bytes, but maps, syncs and unmaps them with DMA_CACHE_ALIGNED_LEN(dma_len), i.e. rounded up to the cache line size. As a result, the DMA API operates on memory beyond the end of the allocation. This was observed on a custom i.MX8MP platform with an mcp251xfd CAN controller under heavy RPMSG load, as a series of refcount_t warnings triggered from rpmsg_recv_done() in virtio_rpmsg_bus: refcount_t: addition on 0; use-after-free. refcount_t: underflow; use-after-free. refcount_t: saturated; leaking memory. Leading finally to an "Unable to handle kernel paging request" oops. Reproducing this problem took between 30 minutes and roughly 30 hours under the same workload. Hardware watchpoints on the refcount of a struct rpmsg_endpoint showed it was overwritten from 2 to 1 by __pi_memcpy_generic() in the irq/155-spi2.0 thread. Additionally it was found

  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vt: selection: Fix unsigned underflow and slab-out-of-bounds read in paste_selection() In CVE-2026-98839 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vt: selection: Fix unsigned underflow and slab-out-of-bounds read in paste_selection() In paste_selection(), the loop copies min_t(unsigned int, vc_sel.buf_len - pasted,tty->receive_room) bytes per iteration into tty_ldisc_receive_buf() and increments pasted += count. Because the selection mutex (vc_sel.lock) is dropped inside the loop Whenever the line discipline buffer fills up and paste_selection() sleeps on tty->write_wait, a concurrent TIOCLINUX (TIOCL_SETSEL) ioctl can replace vc_sel.buffer with a shorter selection and reduce vc_sel.buf_len below pasted. When paste_selection() resumes, vc_sel.buf_len - pasted underflows as an unsigned integer to a large positive value, causing tty_ldisc_receive_buf(ld, vc_sel.buffer + pasted, NULL, count) to read up to 4094 bytes out-of-bounds past the newly allocated vc_sel.buffer. Fix this by terminating the loop when pasted >= vc_sel.buf_len. • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/slab: do not wake up kswapd in __kfree_rcu_sheaf() Since kfree_rcu() can be called undeCVE-2026-98818 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/slab: do not wake up kswapd in __kfree_rcu_sheaf() Since kfree_rcu() can be called under pi_lock (a raw spinlock in the scheduler), kfree_rcu() itself should never allocate memory with __GFP_KSWAPD_RECLAIM as waking up kswapd ends up acquiring pi_lock, which leads to a deadlock. Reproducing the issue even intentionally was not straightforward. The set_cpus_allowed_force() path that is called under pi_lock is exercised very rarely, and competing tasks that allocate memory will most likely wake kswapd up. Therefore the existence of the deadlock was verified with a modified kernel that has a lockdep map for waking up kswapd: ====================================================== WARNING: possible circular locking dependency detected 7.2.0-rc1-slab-for-next+ #10 Not tainted ------------------------------------------------------ git/6660 is trying to acquire lock: ffff8e524533c550 (&p->pi_lock){-.-.}-{2:2}, at: _raw_spin_lock_irqsave+0x12/0x20 but task is already holding lock: ffff8e57bffff1a0 (&pgdat->kswapd_wait){....}-{3:3}, at: _raw_spin_lock_irqsave+0x12/0x20 which lock already depends o

  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: fix slab-out-of-bounds read in ieee80211_monitor_select_queue() ieee80211_CVE-2026-98810 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: fix slab-out-of-bounds read in ieee80211_monitor_select_queue() ieee80211_monitor_select_queue() validates the skb length using skb->len before dereferencing pointers into skb->data to access the 802.11 header. However, skb->len includes data in both the linear head buffer and non-linear fragments/pages. When AF_PACKET sends a packet large enough to become non-linear, the 802.11 header at skb->data + len_rthdr may extend past the linear head buffer even though skb->len appears sufficient. This leads to a slab-out-of-bounds read when accessing hdr->frame_control, as the kernel reads beyond the allocated skb head buffer: BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in ieee80211_monitor_select_queue+0x1ed/0x220 syzbot has hit the same issues. Fix this by checking skb_headlen(skb) (which gives the length of the linear data region) instead of skb->len before dereferencing skb->data pointers. This ensures the required bytes are actually present in the linear portion of the skb. Apply the same fix to ieee80211_validate_radiotap_len() which has the same class of bug: it uses skb->len to validate accesses to skb-

  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5: Fix slab-out-of-bounds when handling team device events The mlx5_handle_changeupCVE-2026-98807 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5: Fix slab-out-of-bounds when handling team device events The mlx5_handle_changeupper_event() and mlx5_handle_changeinfodata_event() functions check for LAG masters (which includes both bonding and team devices) but only call bonding-specific APIs. When processing team device events, calling bond_slave_get_rcu() and bond_is_slave_inactive() on team_port structures causes KASAN to detect an out-of-bounds memory access since team_port is smaller than bond slave. Fix this by wrapping the bond-specific API calls with a check for bonding devices. This allows the function to still process LAG events for both bonding and teams but only calls bond-specific functions when dealing with actual bonding devices. For mlx5_handle_changeinfodata_event(), keep the explicit bond check as mlx5 doesn't handle state information for team ports anyway. Tested with Mellanox ConnectX-5 on Linux 7.2.0-rc6: - Bonding: PASS (no regressions) - Team device: PASS (no KASAN errors)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfc: llcp: fix slab-out-of-bounds reads when logging service names nfc_llcp_wks_sap() and nfc_llcp_build_sdreq_tlv() pass non-null- terminated strings to pr_debug() using the %s format specifier. The buffers are allocated via kmemdup() or come from netlink attributes and are not guaranteed to be null-terminated, causing __dynamic_pr_debug() to read beyond the allocated region: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds Read in __dynamic_pr_debug Fix both call sites by using %.*s with the explicit length to limit the output to the actual length of the string.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/slab: take n->list_lock in __slab_try_return_freelist() to avoid race Commit ba7425312607 ("mm, slab: add an optimistic __slab_try_return_freelist()") incorrectly assumed that nobody has freed an object to the slab as long as slab->freelist is NULL and cmpxchg succeeds. However, as reported by Hyunwoo Kim [1], other CPUs might have freed an object to the slab, insert the slab to the partial list, then allocated an object from the slab, and be in the middle of removing the slab from the list under n->list_lock. Since __refill_objects_node() puts the slab back on pc.slabs outside n->list_lock, it might insert the slab into that list while the slab is concurrently being removed from n->partial. This led to a list corruption [1]: list_add corruption. next->prev should be prev (ffff888100000248), but was dead000000000122. (next=ffffea000416e410). kernel BUG at lib/list_debug.c:29! Because the number of attributes in a record is not bounded (mi_enum_attr() accepts arbitrarily many equal-type, nameless minimum-size attributes), a crafted record packed with such attributes produces a list larger than record_size and overflows the heap buffer. This is reachable from a crafted, loop-mounted NTFS image: opening the file and adding an attribute (e.g. via setxattr) drives ntfs_set_ea() -> ni_insert_resident() -> ni_insert_attr() -> ni_ins_attr_ext() -> ni_create_attr_list(). Time-of-check Time-of-use (TOCTOU) Race Condition in Slab safeurl allows an attacker who controls a hostname's DNS responses to reach internal network destinations that validation rejected. Validation returns a verdict and not the address it approved, so the HTTP clients the library ships receive the original hostname and resolve it a second time when the request is made. An attacker who controls the authoritative DNS for a name can answer the first lookup with a permitted address and the second with a blocked one, and the request then reaches a destination validation never approved. The same window opens without an attacker whenever a name legitimately resolves to different addresses across lookups, such as short record lifetimes or rotation between several addresses. This issue affects safeurl: from 0.1.0 onward.

Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in Slab safeurl allows an attacker who controls a validated URL to reach internal network destinations the library is configured to block. Only IPv4 addresses are matched against the reserved ranges and the blocklist. Every other address is treated as matching nothing, so a destination that is rejected in its IPv4 form is accepted when written as an IPv6 address, IPv6 entries in the blocklist never match, and a host that resolves to no IPv4 address is accepted regardless of where it points. Deployments that rely on the allowlist instead are unaffected, because there an unmatched address is rejected. This issue affects safeurl: from 0.1.0 onward.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nilfs2: fix slab-out-of-bounds in nilfs_direct_propagate after truncation Shuangpeng Bai reported that KASAN detected a slab-out-of-bounds error in nilfs_direct_propagate() during testing. Analysis revealed that after truncating a file, a node block immediately below the B-tree root was not deleted. Instead, it remained in the B-tree node cache in a dirty state. The log writer subsequently detected this block and incorrectly invoked nilfs_direct_propagate() on it, which is designed to handle only data blocks in direct mapping. B-tree nodes in the cache are managed by virtual block numbers, and their logical keys typically exceed the range expected by direct mapping. Consequently, processing such a node as a direct mapping entry triggers a slab-out-of-bounds access. The root cause is that when a B-tree mapping collapses into a direct mapping during truncation, an intermediate node block pointed to by the root node is left behind as garbage instead of being explicitly deleted. This resolves the issue by adding a nilfs_btree_discard() operation to delete the remaining intermediate node block during the convers

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: move nfsd_debugfs_init() after nfsd4_init_slabs() in init_nfsd() nfsd_debugfs_init() runs before nfsd4_init_slabs() in init_nfsd(). If the slab allocation fails, the bare "return retval" bypasses nfsd_debugfs_exit(), leaving orphan debugfs files with stale fops pointers into the freed module text. Move nfsd_debugfs_init() to after the slab init succeeds, so the early return has no debugfs state to clean up. Since debugfs is now the more recently initialized of the two, also update the unwind paths to match reverse-initialization (LIFO) order: run nfsd_debugfs_exit() before nfsd4_free_slabs() in both the init_nfsd() error path and exit_nfsd(). The nfsd debugfs files only reference module-global state and have no dependency on the slab caches, so that reordering is a cleanup with no functional change.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: serial: option: fix slab OOB read in interrupt URB callback The interrupt URB buffer is allocated in setup_port_interrupt_in() based on the endpoint's wMaxPacketSize: buffer_size = usb_endpoint_maxp(epd); port->interrupt_in_buffer = kmalloc(buffer_size, GFP_KERNEL); When a USB device declares wMaxPacketSize = 8 on its interrupt IN endpoint, the buffer is allocated from kmalloc-8 cache (exactly 8 bytes). If the device sends a short packet (actual_length < wMaxPacketSize), the URB completes with status == 0 and the callback proceeds to read: data[sizeof(struct usb_ctrlrequest)] which evaluates to data[8], accessing 1 byte beyond the allocated 8-byte buffer. This results in a slab out-of-bounds read. Fix this by adding the missing bounds check: first verify that the actual length is large enough to contain the struct usb_ctrlrequest header before accessing req_pkt->bRequestType and req_pkt->bRequest, and then verify that there is an additional byte for the modem signal state before reading data[sizeof(struct usb_ctrlrequest)] inside the conditional. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/atm: fix slab-out-of-bounds read in vcc_setsockopt() vcc_setsockopt() contained an ineffective optlen check: if (__SO_LEVEL_MATCH(optname, level) && optlen != __SO_SIZE(optname)) return -EINVAL; If __SO_LEVEL_MATCH(optname, level) evaluated to false (e.g. if the caller passed a mismatched level), the length check optlen != __SO_SIZE(optname) was short-circuited and bypassed. Execution then fell through to switch(optname), calling copy_from_sockptr() assuming optval contained sufficient space. Furthermore, even if level matched, a cgroup BPF setsockopt filter could shrink optlen after entry. Because copy_from_sockptr() on kernel pointers uses memcpy(), this leads to a KASAN slab-out-of-bounds read when optlen is smaller than the expected structure size. Fix this by using copy_safe_from_sockptr(), which unconditionally validates that optlen is at least the expected size before copying. Also change the local 'value' variable type from 'unsigned long' to 'int' so that SO_SETCLP matches its sizeof(int) ABI encoding on 64-bit systems.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/slab: prevent unbounded recursion in free path with new kmalloc type Commit 280ea9c3154b ("mm/slab: avoid allocating slabobj_ext array from its own slab") avoided recursive allocation of obj_exts from kmalloc caches of the same size, by bumping the obj_exts array's allocation size whenever the array size equals the size of the object being allocated. However, as reported by Danielle Costantino and Shakeel Butt, even slabs from kmalloc caches of different sizes can form a cycle by allocating obj_exts arrays from each other [1]: What happened: a KMALLOC_NORMAL slab's obj_exts array (used by allocation profiling / memcg accounting) is itself kmalloc()'d from a KMALLOC_NORMAL cache, so the "slab holds another slab's obj_exts array" relation can form cycles. With sizeof(struct slabobj_ext) == 16 and the host's geometry: - kmalloc-512 has 64 objects/slab -> array is 64*16 == 1024 bytes, served from kmalloc-1k; - kmalloc-1k has 32 objects/slab -> array is 32*16 == 512 bytes, served from kmalloc-512. A kmalloc-512 slab and a kmalloc-1k slab therefore hold each other's obj_exts array. D

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: fix KASAN slab-out-of-bounds in amdgpu_coredump ring dump The ring content dump in amdgpu_coredump() uses two separate loops over adev->rings[]: the first counts rings with unsignalled fences to size the allocation, and the second copies ring data into the allocated buffers. Both loops use the same condition to skip rings: atomic_read(&ring->fence_drv.last_seq) == ring->fence_drv.sync_seq Because last_seq is an atomic that is updated concurrently by the fence signalling path, additional rings may appear unsignalled in the second loop that were signalled during the first. When this happens, idx exceeds the allocated ring_count and the store to coredump->rings[idx] writes past the end of the kcalloc-ed buffer. This was found during IGT stressful test amd_queue_reset which triggers random GPU resets. The OVERSIZE subtest (CMD_STREAM_EXEC_INVALID_PACKET_LENGTH_OVERSIZE on GFX ring) provokes a ring timeout and subsequent coredump, which hits the race between the counting and copying loops. The failure is non-deterministic and depends on fence signalling timing during the reset. KASAN log: BUG:

The root cause is that tipc_disable_l2_media() calls synchronize_net() while b->media_ptr is still valid. This allows concurrent RCU readers to obtain the device pointer after synchronize_net() has finished. The pointer is cleared later in bearer_disable(), but without any subsequent synchronization, allowing the device to be freed while still in use by readers. Fix this by clearing b->media_ptr in tipc_disable_l2_media() before calling synchronize_net(). This is safe to do now because the call order in bearer_disable() was reversed in 0d051bf93c06 ("tipc: make bearer packet filtering generic") to call tipc_node_delete_links() (which needs the pointer) before disable_media(). https: //lore.kernel.org/netdev/6a2c1007.428ffe26.258b27.015d.GAE@google.com/T/#u

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: serialize netif_running() check in enqueue_to_backlog() Syzbot reported a KASAN slab-use-after-free in fib_rules_lookup(). The root cause is a race condition where packets can escape the backlog flushing during device unregistration (e.g., during netns exit). Commit e9e4dd3267d0 ("net: do not process device backlog during unregistration") introduced a lockless netif_running() check in enqueue_to_backlog() to prevent queuing packets to an unregistering device. However, this creates a TOCTOU race window. A lockless transmitter (like veth_xmit) can pass the check before dev_close() clears IFF_UP. If the transmitter is then delayed, flush_all_backlogs() can run and finish before the transmitter grabs the backlog lock and queues the packet. The packet then escapes the flush and triggers UAF later when processed. Fix this by moving the netif_running() check inside the backlog lock. This serializes the check with the flush work (which also grabs the lock). We then either queue the packet before the flush runs (so it gets flushed), or check netif_running() after the flush/close completes (so it gets dropped).

  • Jul 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/slab: do not limit zeroing to orig_size when only red zoning is enabled When init (zeroCVE-2026-64368 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.1

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/slab: do not limit zeroing to orig_size when only red zoning is enabled When init (zeroing) on allocation is requested, for kmalloc() we generally have to zero the full object size even if a smaller size is requested, in order to provide krealloc()'s __GFP_ZERO guarantees. But if we track the requested size, krealloc() uses that information to do the right thing, so we can zero only the requested size. With red zoning also enabled, any extra size became part of the red zone, so it must not be zeroed and thus we must zero only the requested size. However the current check is imprecise, and will trigger also when only SLAB_RED_ZONE is enabled without SLAB_STORE_USER (which enables tracking the requested size). This means enabling red zoning alone can compromise krealloc()'s __GFP_ZERO contract. Fix this by using slub_debug_orig_size() instead, which is the exact check for whether the requested size is tracked. We don't need to care if red zoning is also enabled or not. Also update and expand the comment accordingly.

  • Jul 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: wacom: fix slab-out-of-bounds write in wacom_wac_queue_insert wacom_wac_queue_insert(CVE-2026-64366 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: wacom: fix slab-out-of-bounds write in wacom_wac_queue_insert wacom_wac_queue_insert() calls kfifo_skip() in a loop when the kfifo doesn't have enough space for the incoming report. If the kfifo is empty, kfifo_skip() reads stale data left in the kmalloc'd buffer via __kfifo_peek_n() and interprets it as a record length, advancing fifo->out by that garbage value. This corrupts the internal kfifo state, causing kfifo_unused() to return a value much larger than the actual buffer size, which bypasses __kfifo_in_r()'s guard: if (len + recsize > kfifo_unused(fifo)) return 0; kfifo_copy_in() then performs an out-of-bounds memcpy, writing up to 3842 bytes past the 256-byte buffer. Add a !kfifo_is_empty() condition to the while loop so kfifo_skip() is never called on an empty fifo, and check the return value of kfifo_in() to reject reports that are too large for the fifo.

  • Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs/statmount: fix slab out-of-bounds write in statmount_mnt_idmap statmount_mnt_idmap() wrCVE-2026-64074 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs/statmount: fix slab out-of-bounds write in statmount_mnt_idmap statmount_mnt_idmap() writes one mapping with seq_printf() and then manually advances seq->count to include the NUL separator. If seq_printf() overflows, seq_set_overflow() sets seq->count to seq->size. The manual seq->count++ changes this to seq->size + 1. seq_has_overflowed() then no longer detects the overflow. The corrupted count returns to statmount_string(), which later executes: seq->buf[seq->count++] = '\0'; This causes a 1-byte NULL out-of-bounds write on the dynamically allocated seq buffer. Fix this by checking for overflow immediately after seq_printf().

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
