  • Sep 22, 2026A flaw was found in rpcbind.CVE-2026-94640 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatHigh 7.5

A flaw was found in rpcbind. This vulnerability allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by sending a large number of unique requests. The rpcbind service records previously unseen RPC (Remote Procedure Call) statistics in unbounded in-memory lists, leading to persistent memory growth and increased CPU usage. This can degrade or exhaust service availability.

  • Jul 21, 2026A stack-based buffer overflow was found in rpcbind's rpcinfo utility.CVE-2026-16461 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 6.5

A stack-based buffer overflow was found in rpcbind's rpcinfo utility. In rpcbdump() short mode (used by `rpcinfo -s`), version numbers from a remote RPCBPROC_DUMP reply are written into a fixed-size stack buffer without bounds checking. A user or administrator who runs `rpcinfo -s` against a malicious or compromised rpcbind endpoint could experience a crash or denial of service of the rpcinfo client.

  • Jul 20, 2026A stack-based buffer overflow was found in rpcbind's rpcinfo utility.CVE-2026-16277 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 6.5

A stack-based buffer overflow was found in rpcbind's rpcinfo utility. When querying a remote rpcbind service with `rpcinfo -l`, address information returned by the server is copied into a fixed-size buffer without sufficient bounds checking. A malicious or compromised rpcbind server could use this flaw to crash the rpcinfo client, resulting in a denial of service. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to system availability.

  • Apr 10, 2019On Junos OS, rpcbind should only be listening to port 111 on the internal routing instance (IRI).CVE-2019-0040 · Network & remote access · Juniper Networks · reported by sirt@juniper.netCritical 9.1

On Junos OS, rpcbind should only be listening to port 111 on the internal routing instance (IRI). External packets destined to port 111 should be dropped. Due to an information leak vulnerability, responses were being generated from the source address of the management interface (e.g. fxp0) thus disclosing internal addressing and existence of the management interface itself. A high rate of crafted packets destined to port 111 may also lead to a partial Denial of Service (DoS). Note: Systems with fxp0 disabled or unconfigured are not vulnerable to this issue. This issue only affects Junos OS releases based on FreeBSD 10 or higher (typically Junos OS 15.1+). Administrators can confirm whether systems are running a version of Junos OS based on FreeBSD 10 or higher by typing: user@junos> show version | match kernel JUNOS OS Kernel 64-bit [20181214.223829_fbsd-builder_stable_10] Affected releases are Juniper Networks Junos OS: 15.1 versions prior to 15.1F6-S12, 15.1R7-S4; 15.1X53 versions prior to 15.1X53-D236; 16.1 versions prior to 16.1R7-S1; 16.2 versions prior to 16.2R2-S9; 17.1 versions prior to 17.1R3; 17.2 versions prior to 17.2R1-S8; 17.3 versions prior to 17.3R2; 17.4 versions

rpcbind through 0.2.4, LIBTIRPC through 1.0.1 and 1.0.2-rc through 1.0.2-rc3, and NTIRPC through 1.4.3 do not consider the maximum RPC data size during memory allocation for XDR strings, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption with no subsequent free) via a crafted UDP packet to port 111, aka rpcbomb.

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
