  • Oct 27, 2026MLflow is an open source AI engineering platform for agents, large language models, and machine learning models.CVE-2026-116692 · Other software · mlflow · reported by GitHubCritical 9.8

MLflow is an open source AI engineering platform for agents, large language models, and machine learning models. From 3.12.0rc0 until 3.17.0, third-party scorer deserialization in mlflow/genai/scorers/base.py accepts request-selected descendants of THIRD_PARTY_SCORER_ALLOWED_MODULES rather than requiring an exact allowed module. A caller can use MLflow artifact endpoints to place a Python module beneath a writable allowed package and submit its module and class through /ajax-api/3.0/mlflow/scorer/invoke. Scorer.model_validate_json() imports the module and constructs the class before trace processing. Authentication-disabled deployments permit this code execution without credentials, while basic-auth deployments require a principal capable of creating an experiment and run and uploading artifacts. In either configuration, the allowed scorer package must be writable by the server process. This issue is fixed in version 3.17.0.

  • Oct 27, 2026MLflow is an open source AI engineering platform for agents, large language models, and machine learning models.CVE-2026-116691 · Other software · mlflow · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

MLflow is an open source AI engineering platform for agents, large language models, and machine learning models. From 2.19.0 until 3.17.0, mlflow.crewai.autolog() records CrewAI Agent objects without consistently sanitizing nested credential-bearing values. mlflow/crewai/autolog.py::_get_agent_attributes() converts the Agent llm field to a string that includes the provider API key, while mlflow/crewai/autolog.py::_construct_full_inputs() expands the Agent object into mlflow.spanInputs. Applications can therefore send plaintext provider credentials to the MLflow trace backend or a configured OTLP destination, where trace readers can obtain them. This issue is fixed in version 3.17.0.

  • Oct 27, 2026MLflow is an open source AI engineering platform for agents, large language models, and machine learning models.CVE-2026-116690 · Other software · mlflow · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

MLflow is an open source AI engineering platform for agents, large language models, and machine learning models. From 3.10.0 until 3.17.0, the prompt branch in _create_model_version() accepts schemeless relative sources because path validation runs only when a source has a URL scheme, and mlflow.prompt.is_prompt is interpreted by tag presence rather than a true value. A remote caller can store a server-local path as the model version artifact location and use /api/2.0/mlflow/model-versions/get-artifact to read files accessible to the MLflow server process. Default unauthenticated servers require no privileges, while basic-auth deployments are exposed to authenticated users who can create registered models. This issue is fixed in version 3.17.0.

  • Oct 23, 2026MLflow is an open source AI engineering platform for agents, large language models, and machine learning models.CVE-2026-115886 · Other software · mlflow · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

MLflow is an open source AI engineering platform for agents, large language models, and machine learning models. From 3.12.0rc0 until 3.17.0, the scorer invoke, register, and GenAI evaluate endpoints, including unauthenticated POST /ajax-api/3.0/mlflow/scorer/invoke, accept serialized third-party scorer data that Scorer.model_validate_json resolves using a module-path allowlist without constraining the selected class or its constructor arguments. When optional trulens and trulens-providers-litellm packages are installed, an attacker can select mlflow.genai.scorers.trulens, choose a model URI outside MLflow's native provider registry so execution uses the LiteLLM fallback, and supply api_base and api_key values that cause the server to send an outbound request to an attacker-chosen or internal host with attacker-controlled headers and body. The vulnerable deserialization occurs before a tracking-store lookup or job submission. This issue is fixed in version 3.17.0.

  • Oct 19, 2026MLflow 3.17.1 and earlier contains a path traversal vulnerability in the FileStore tracking backend that allows unauthenticated attackers to control filesystem CVE-2026-53995 · Other software · mlflow · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.8

MLflow 3.17.1 and earlier contains a path traversal vulnerability in the FileStore tracking backend that allows unauthenticated attackers to control filesystem paths by submitting a crafted trace ID containing traversal sequences to the POST /api/3.0/mlflow/traces endpoint. Attackers can exploit FileStore.start_trace() to write trace_info.yaml, request_metadata, and tag files with attacker-controlled metadata outside the intended experiment trace directory, subject to the server process's filesystem permissions. FileStore is the default tracking backend before MLflow 3.7.0 and opt-in thereafter (the default changed to a SQLite database), so deployments in the earlier part of the affected range are vulnerable without special configuration while later ones are affected only when FileStore is explicitly selected.

  • Aug 5, 2026MLflow's AI Gateway accepts an auth_config.api_base value when creating a gateway secret (mlflow/server/handlers.py, _create_gateway_secret) with no validation CVE-2026-71211 · Other software · mlflow · reported by 309f9ea4-e3e9-4c6c-b79d-e8eb01244f2cHigh 7.1

MLflow's AI Gateway accepts an auth_config.api_base value when creating a gateway secret (mlflow/server/handlers.py, _create_gateway_secret) with no validation of scheme, host, or IP range; the value is stored verbatim. The gateway proxy endpoint (mlflow/server/gateway_api.py, raw_proxy) subsequently issues an HTTP request to that stored api_base plus a caller-supplied path and returns the full response body.

  • Jul 2, 2026In MLflow versions prior to 3.14.0, when running with authentication enabled, the trace API endpoints lack proper authorization validators.CVE-2026-8147 · Other software · mlflow · reported by security@huntr.devHigh 8.1

In MLflow versions prior to 3.14.0, when running with authentication enabled, the trace API endpoints lack proper authorization validators. This allows any authenticated user to bypass experiment-level authorization controls on all trace operations, including reading, deleting, and modifying traces on experiments they do not have permission to access. The issue arises from the `_before_request` handler, which does not register authorization validators for trace endpoints, resulting in requests proceeding without validation. This vulnerability can expose sensitive data, destroy audit logs, and allow unauthorized modifications.

  • Jun 3, 2026A vulnerability in mlflow/mlflow versions prior to 3.11.0 allows for the resolution of environment variables in AI Gateway secrets, which can be exploited to exCVE-2026-4035 · Other software · mlflow · reported by security@huntr.devHigh 7.7

A vulnerability in mlflow/mlflow versions prior to 3.11.0 allows for the resolution of environment variables in AI Gateway secrets, which can be exploited to exfiltrate sensitive server-side environment credentials to an attacker-controlled endpoint. This issue arises because the `api_key` field in gateway secrets can accept `$ENV_VAR` references, which are resolved against the MLflow server's environment during runtime. The resolved secrets are then sent in provider authentication headers to the configured upstream `api_base`. This vulnerability can be exploited by low-privileged authenticated users in basic-auth deployments or by unauthenticated users in default deployments without `basic-auth`. The impact includes potential leakage of sensitive credentials such as cloud artifact credentials (`AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID`, `AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY`), which could lead to artifact poisoning and cross-boundary code execution in downstream environments. The issue is fixed in version 3.11.0.

MLflow 3.9.0 with basic-auth (`--app-name basic-auth`) fails to enforce authorization checks for multiple Gateway API 'list' endpoints. Specifically, the `BEFORE_REQUEST_HANDLERS` dictionary in `mlflow/server/auth/__init__.py` does not include entries for `ListGatewaySecretInfos`, `ListGatewayEndpoints`, and `ListGatewayModelDefinitions`. This allows any authenticated user, regardless of their assigned permissions, to enumerate all gateway secrets, endpoints, and model definitions. This vulnerability exposes sensitive information, such as API keys, endpoint configurations, and proprietary model definitions, to unauthorized users.

  • May 21, 2026In mlflow/mlflow versions up to 3.9.0, the `SearchModelVersions` REST API endpoint and the `mlflowSearchModelVersions` GraphQL query lack proper per-model authoCVE-2026-2734 · Other software · mlflow · reported by security@huntr.devMedium 6.5

In mlflow/mlflow versions up to 3.9.0, the `SearchModelVersions` REST API endpoint and the `mlflowSearchModelVersions` GraphQL query lack proper per-model authorization checks when basic authentication is enabled. This allows any authenticated user to enumerate all model versions across all registered models, regardless of their permission level. The issue arises due to the absence of `SearchModelVersions` in the `BEFORE_REQUEST_VALIDATORS` and `AFTER_REQUEST_HANDLERS` for the REST API, and its omission from `GraphQLAuthorizationMiddleware.PROTECTED_FIELDS` for GraphQL. This vulnerability can expose sensitive information such as model names, version descriptions, source URIs, tags, and other metadata, potentially revealing proprietary or confidential details in multi-tenant environments. In mlflow/mlflow versions prior to 3.11.0, the `get_or_create_nfs_tmp_dir()` function in `mlflow/utils/file_utils.py` creates temporary directories with world-writable permissions (0o777), and the `_create_model_downloading_tmp_dir()` function in `mlflow/pyfunc/__init__.py` creates directories with group-writable permissions (0o770). These insecure permissions allow local attackers to tamper with model artifacts, such as cloudpickle-serialized Python objects, and achieve arbitrary code execution when the tampered artifacts are deserialized via `cloudpickle.load()`. This vulnerability is particularly critical in environments with shared NFS mounts, such as Databricks, where NFS is enabled by default. The issue is a continuation of the vulnerability class addressed in CVE-2025-10279, which was only partially fixed.

A vulnerability in mlflow/mlflow versions 3.9.0 and earlier allows unauthenticated access to certain FastAPI routes when the server is started with authentication enabled (`--app-name basic-auth`) and served via uvicorn (ASGI). The FastAPI permission middleware only enforces authentication on `/gateway/` routes, leaving other routes such as the Job API (`/ajax-api/3.0/jobs/*`) and the OpenTelemetry trace ingestion API (`/v1/traces`) unprotected. This allows unauthenticated remote attackers to submit jobs, read job results, cancel running jobs, and inject arbitrary trace data into experiments. The issue arises from an architectural mismatch between Flask and FastAPI authentication mechanisms, where the `_find_fastapi_validator()` function fails to handle non-`/gateway/` paths, resulting in a complete authentication bypass. This vulnerability is fixed in version 3.10.0.

The `_create_webhook()` function in `mlflow/server/handlers.py` accepts a user-controlled `url` parameter without validation, and the `_send_webhook_request()` function in `mlflow/webhooks/delivery.py` sends HTTP POST requests to this attacker-controlled URL. This allows an authenticated attacker to force the MLflow backend to send HTTP requests to internal services, cloud metadata endpoints, or arbitrary external servers. The lack of input sanitization, URL scheme filtering, or allowlist validation on the webhook URL enables exploitation, potentially leading to cloud credential theft, internal network access, and data exfiltration.

In mlflow/mlflow, the FastAPI job endpoints under `/ajax-api/3.0/jobs/*` are not protected by authentication or authorization when the `basic-auth` app is enabled. This vulnerability affects the latest version of the repository. If job execution is enabled (`MLFLOW_SERVER_ENABLE_JOB_EXECUTION=true`) and any job function is allowlisted, any network client can submit, read, search, and cancel jobs without credentials, bypassing basic-auth entirely. This can lead to unauthenticated remote code execution if allowed jobs perform privileged actions such as shell execution or filesystem changes. In the latest version of mlflow/mlflow, when the `basic-auth` app is enabled, tracing and assessment endpoints are not protected by permission validators. This allows any authenticated user, including those with `NO_PERMISSIONS` on the experiment, to read trace information and create assessments for traces they should not have access to. This vulnerability impacts confidentiality by exposing trace metadata and integrity by allowing unauthorized creation of assessments. Deployments using `mlflow server --app-name=basic-auth` are affected.

  • Jun 6, 2024A vulnerability in mlflow/mlflow version 2.11.1 allows attackers to create multiple models with the same name by exploiting URL encoding.CVE-2024-3099 · Other software · mlflow · reported by security@huntr.devMedium 5.4

A vulnerability in mlflow/mlflow version 2.11.1 allows attackers to create multiple models with the same name by exploiting URL encoding. This flaw can lead to Denial of Service (DoS) as an authenticated user might not be able to use the intended model, as it will open a different model each time. Additionally, an attacker can exploit this vulnerability to perform data model poisoning by creating a model with the same name, potentially causing an authenticated user to become a victim by using the poisoned model. The issue stems from inadequate validation of model names, allowing for the creation of models with URL-encoded names that are treated as distinct from their URL-decoded counterparts.

A Local File Inclusion (LFI) vulnerability was identified in mlflow/mlflow, specifically in version 2.9.2, which was fixed in version 2.11.3. This vulnerability arises from the application's failure to properly validate URI fragments for directory traversal sequences such as '../'. An attacker can exploit this flaw by manipulating the fragment part of the URI to read arbitrary files on the local file system, including sensitive files like '/etc/passwd'. The vulnerability is a bypass to a previous patch that only addressed similar manipulation within the URI's query string, highlighting the need for comprehensive validation of all parts of a URI to prevent LFI attacks.

A vulnerability in mlflow/mlflow version 8.2.1 allows for remote code execution due to improper neutralization of special elements used in an OS command ('Command Injection') within the `mlflow.data.http_dataset_source.py` module. Specifically, when loading a dataset from a source URL with an HTTP scheme, the filename extracted from the `Content-Disposition` header or the URL path is used to generate the final file path without proper sanitization. This flaw enables an attacker to control the file path fully by utilizing path traversal or absolute path techniques, such as '../../tmp/poc.txt' or '/tmp/poc.txt', leading to arbitrary file write. Exploiting this vulnerability could allow a malicious user to execute commands on the vulnerable machine, potentially gaining access to data and model information. The issue is fixed in version 2.9.0.
