  • Oct 23, 2026Lookyloo is a web interface that allows users to capture a website page and then display a tree of domains that call each other.CVE-2026-55835 · Other software · Lookyloo · reported by GitHubMedium 6.9

Lookyloo is a web interface that allows users to capture a website page and then display a tree of domains that call each other. Prior to version 1.39.4, an unauthenticated user can trigger Lookyloo's "report a capture" email on demand (this is expected). The /json/<uuid>/report API endpoint (CaptureReport) is incorrectly passing the email and comment parameters, overwriting as_admin. When True, as_admin will trigger a search query on a MISP instance (if configured) and add a list of matching URLs in the email sent to the analyst (not the submitter, so there is no risk of leaking information) . It could potentially cause a DoS on the MISP instance. This issue has been patched in version 1.39.4.

  • Sep 3, 2026PlaywrightCapture contains a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in its favicon retrieval functionality.CVE-2026-85242 · Other software · Lookyloo · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8Medium 6.9

PlaywrightCapture contains a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in its favicon retrieval functionality. When only_global_lookup is enabled, the application validates the initial favicon URL to prevent requests to localhost, loopback, or other non-public network addresses. However, redirects followed by aiohttp were not subjected to the same validation. An attacker able to influence the content of a page processed by PlaywrightCapture could specify a publicly reachable favicon URL that responds with an HTTP redirect to a local or otherwise restricted address, such as 127.0.0.1, localhost, or an internal network service. Because aiohttp automatically followed the redirect, the resulting request could bypass the application's local-address restrictions and cause the PlaywrightCapture host to issue HTTP requests to resources that should not be externally reachable. Depending on the services reachable from the PlaywrightCapture host and how retrieved favicon data is subsequently exposed or processed, this could be used to probe internal HTTP services or potentially obtain information from otherwise inaccessible endpoints. The patch introduces an aiohttp request middl

  • Aug 11, 2026A Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability existed in Lookyloo's PlaywrightCapture when the only_global_lookup option was enabled.CVE-2026-73210 · Other software · Lookyloo · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8Medium 5.1

A Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability existed in Lookyloo's PlaywrightCapture when the only_global_lookup option was enabled. PlaywrightCapture implements this option to prevent captures from accessing local, loopback, or otherwise non-public network resources. However, favicon retrieval was performed separately from the browser request-routing protections. Favicon URLs extracted from rendered HTML were resolved and subsequently fetched directly using an aiohttp.ClientSession. An attacker able to supply or control a web page processed by PlaywrightCapture could include a crafted favicon reference, for example pointing to a loopback address, private IP address, or another resource reachable only from the PlaywrightCapture host. When the page was processed, the favicon retrieval routine could issue an HTTP request to this destination despite only_global_lookup being enabled. This bypass could therefore be used to make the PlaywrightCapture host interact with internal network services that should not be reachable through a capture. Depending on the targeted service and its response, this could enable internal service discovery, access to internal resources, or interact

  • Jul 28, 2026Lookyloo did not enforce limits on the decompressed size of uploaded capture archives and compressed HAR files.CVE-2026-66913 · Other software · lookyloo · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8Medium 6.9

Lookyloo did not enforce limits on the decompressed size of uploaded capture archives and compressed HAR files. An attacker could submit a specially crafted ZIP, gzip, or zlib-compressed capture containing data that expands to a very large size during processing. Because the application decompressed this content directly in memory without first limiting the output size, processing the malicious capture could exhaust available memory, terminate a web or worker process, or make the Lookyloo instance unavailable. The vulnerability affects both full Lookyloo capture archive imports and API submissions containing gzip-compressed HAR data. Repeated exploitation could cause a persistent denial-of-service condition until the affected processes or instance are restarted. The patch introduces: * A 1 GB cumulative uncompressed-size limit for imported capture archives. * Size-limited gzip and zlib decompression for compressed HAR files. * Explicit detection and handling of suspected zip bombs. * An HTTP 400 response when an oversized compressed HAR file is submitted through the API.

  • Jul 27, 2026A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability existed in the capture tree visualization page.CVE-2026-66824 · Other software · lookyloo · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8Critical 9.2

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability existed in the capture tree visualization page. The application embedded the serialized capture tree directly into an inline JavaScript block using the Jinja safe filter. Because the tree data can contain values derived from captured and potentially attacker-controlled web content, a specially crafted value could prematurely terminate the surrounding <script> element and inject arbitrary HTML or JavaScript. The malicious code would execute in the browser of a user viewing the affected capture tree. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to perform actions using the victim’s authenticated session, access information available to the victim, or modify application data within the permissions of the affected user. The patch removes the JSON data from the HTML document and retrieves it through a dedicated API endpoint. The client then processes the response using response.json(), preventing capture data from being interpreted as executable content within the original page’s HTML or JavaScript context.

  • Jul 15, 2026PlaywrightCapture stored capture-specific configuration and runtime data as mutable class-level variables rather than instance-level variables.CVE-2026-63175 · Other software · Lookyloo · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8High 7.1

PlaywrightCapture stored capture-specific configuration and runtime data as mutable class-level variables rather than instance-level variables. Consequently, multiple Capture objects running within the same Python process could share state, including HTTP headers, cookies, browser storage, HTTP credentials, proxy configuration, user-agent settings, geolocation information, and captured request data. In a multi-user or concurrent deployment, information supplied during one capture could therefore persist and be reused by a subsequent or parallel capture. This could result in the disclosure of authentication cookies, credentials, browser storage, or captured request data belonging to another user. It could also cause requests to be performed with another capture's authentication context, headers, or proxy configuration, potentially enabling unauthorized access to remote resources or interference with other capture operations. The vulnerability is resolved by initializing all capture-specific settings and request data as instance variables in the Capture constructor, ensuring that state is isolated between capture operations.

  • May 13, 2026PlaywrightCapture is a simple replacement for splash using playwright.CVE-2026-44439 · Other software · Lookyloo · reported by GitHubMedium 6.6

PlaywrightCapture is a simple replacement for splash using playwright. Prior to 1.39.6, PlaywrightCapture did not sufficiently restrict navigations and resource requests initiated by rendered pages. An attacker-controlled page could abuse browser-side redirection mechanisms, such as window.location.href, to make the capture process open file:// URLs or request resources hosted on private, loopback, link-local, or otherwise non-public IP addresses. In deployments where PlaywrightCapture processes untrusted URLs, this could allow a remote attacker to perform server-side request forgery against internal services or attempt to access local files from the capture environment. Depending on what capture artifacts are generated and exposed, responses from those resources could potentially be leaked through screenshots, saved page content, logs, or other capture outputs. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.39.6.
