  • Oct 13, 2026A vulnerability was found in libsndfile up to 1.2.2.CVE-2026-109828 · Other software · reported by VulDBLow 2.1

A vulnerability was found in libsndfile up to 1.2.2. This issue affects the function wavlike_subchunk_parse of the file src/wavlike.c of the component WAV Parsing. Performing a manipulation results in use of uninitialized variable. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible. The exploit has been made public and could be used. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet.

  • Sep 24, 2026libsndfile 1.2.2 contains a misaligned memory access issue in psf_binheader_readf() while parsing WAV fmt chunks.CVE-2026-88386 · Other software · reported by MITREMedium 5.5

libsndfile 1.2.2 contains a misaligned memory access issue in psf_binheader_readf() while parsing WAV fmt chunks. A specially crafted WAV file can cause the function to cast an unaligned destination address to unsigned int * and perform a 4-byte store. This results in undefined behavior leading to denial of service.

  • Apr 29, 2026An issue was discovered in libsndfile 1.2.2 IMA ADPCM codec.CVE-2026-37555 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by MITREHigh 7.5

An issue was discovered in libsndfile 1.2.2 IMA ADPCM codec. The AIFF code path (line 241) was fixed with (sf_count_t) cast, but the WAV code path (line 235) and close path (line 167) were not. When samplesperblock (int) * blocks (int) exceeds INT_MAX, the 32-bit multiplication overflows before being assigned to sf.frames (sf_count_t/int64). With samplesperblock=50000 and blocks=50000, the product 2500000000 overflows to -1794967296. This causes incorrect frame count leading to heap buffer overflow or denial of service. Both values come from the WAV file header and are attacker-controlled. This issue was discovered after an incomplete fix for CVE-2022-33065.

  • Mar 23, 2022An out-of-bounds read flaw was found in libsndfile's FLAC codec functionality.CVE-2021-4156 · Other software · Libsndfile Project · reported by Red HatHigh 7.1

An attacker who is able to submit a specially crafted file (via tricking a user to open or otherwise) to an application linked with libsndfile and using the FLAC codec, could trigger an out-of-bounds read that would most likely cause a crash but could potentially leak memory information that could be used in further exploitation of other flaws.

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
