  • Oct 23, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cipso: adjust cached option offsets when removing CIPSO cipso_v4_skbuff_delattr() removes CVE-2026-99064 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.1

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cipso: adjust cached option offsets when removing CIPSO cipso_v4_skbuff_delattr() removes the CIPSO bytes but does not adjust cached offsets for options that follow them. For example, with a valid 10-byte CIPSO option followed by a seven-byte RR option, parsing records rr at offset 30. Removing CIPSO moves RR to offset 20, while the cached offset remains 30. Consumers such as ip_forward_options() and __ip_options_echo() then access the wrong bytes; the latter may interpret packet data as the option length and copy it into fixed-size option storage. Mirror cipso_v4_delopt() and subtract cipso_len from the srr, rr, ts and router_alert offsets when they follow CIPSO. cipso_len is the distance the first memmove() shifts those options. The later header move and network-header reset relocate the bytes and their offset base together.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: harden adjust_idledly() against divide-by-zero and overflow adjust_idledly() has several corner-case issues flagged during review: 1. If xe_gt_clock_init() failed to recognise the crystal clock, gt->info.timestamp_base is 0, which makes idledly_units_ps also 0. The subsequent DIV_ROUND_CLOSEST(..., idledly_units_ps) is then a divide-by-zero and panics the kernel. 2. The tick-to-ns conversions are done in u32: idledly * idledly_units_ps, (maxcnt - 1) * 1000 Both overflow u32 before DIV_ROUND_CLOSEST() sees them. 3. If IDLE_WAIT_TIME reads back as 0, maxcnt evaluates to 0 and the maxcnt - 1 clamp wraps to 0xFFFFFFFF in u32. 4. The register only stores whole ticks, so the clamped ns value has to be converted to ticks and back. DIV_ROUND_CLOSEST() can round that conversion up past maxcnt: maxcnt = 640 ns, one tick = 666664 ps clamp: maxcnt - 1 = 639 ns ns -> ticks: 639000 / 666664 = 0.958 -> rounds to 1 tick tick -> ns: 1 * 666664 / 1000 = 667 ns 667 ns is programmed into RING_IDLEDLY, but 667 >= max

djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance. From 0.9.0 until 1.0.10, 1.1.7, 1.2.4, and 1.3.0rc8, the find_handlers_for_template MCP tool in python/djust/mcp/server.py accepts an existing absolute template_path and reads it without restricting the resolved path to the project or configured template directories. A local MCP client can use the tool as a file existence and readability oracle and can obtain substrings that match the tool's dj-click, dj-submit, dj-change, dj-input, dj-keydown, or dj-keyup attribute pattern from files readable by the djust process. The maintainer assessment states that the MCP server communicates over local stdio as the same operating-system user and has no network listener, and the tool does not return arbitrary raw file contents. This issue is fixed in versions 1.0.10, 1.1.7, 1.2.4, and 1.3.0rc8.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: swiotlb: use the adjusted address for the highmem page lookup swiotlb_bounce() reads the page frame number from the slot's recorded orig_addr, then advances orig_addr by tlb_offset to reach the address the caller asked about. The highmem branch mixes the two: the offset within the page comes from the adjusted address, the page from the value before it. Once the adjustment crosses a page boundary the pair no longer describes one location, and the whole copy lands one page below the intended one for a positive tlb_offset, one above for a negative one. DMA_FROM_DEVICE writes the device data over the wrong page and leaves the intended one stale, DMA_TO_DEVICE feeds the device from a page the mapping may not cover. Partial syncs through dma_sync_single_range_for_*() are what make tlb_offset non-zero. The branch test is picked the same way, so a slot recorded in lowmem can be adjusted into highmem and the lowmem path then hands a highmem address to phys_to_virt(). Take both from orig_addr once it is final and keep pfn in the branch that uses it. PhysHighMem() asks the question straight from the address, as dma-debug

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: f2fs: accurately adjust free_sections during free_segment_range In free_segment_range(), MCVE-2026-97534 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: f2fs: accurately adjust free_sections during free_segment_range In free_segment_range(), MAIN_SECS(sbi) is temporarily reduced by `secs` to restrict block allocation to the safe remaining main area while valid blocks in the truncated range are evacuated by GC. However, FREE_I(sbi)->free_sections tracks the total number of free sections across the whole filesystem. If any sections within the truncated range were already free upon entering free_segment_range(), failing to deduct them from free_sections causes the filesystem to overestimate available free sections in the active, reduced main area. This leads to inconsistent free section accounting during GC data migration and can trigger unexpected allocation failures or assertion errors when space is tight. Fix this by calculating the number of already-free sections in the truncated range, deducting them from free_sections upon entering free_segment_range(), and restoring them on exit.

djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance. Prior to version 1.0.7, the djust live transport resolves the LiveView to mount from a client-supplied dotted path by calling `__import__(module_path, ...)`. The module is imported — running its top-level code (import side effects) — before the framework checks that the resolved object is a `LiveView` subclass and before any per-view authentication. The `LIVEVIEW_ALLOWED_MODULES` allowlist that should contain this is fail-open (`if allowed_modules:` — skipped when the setting is unset, the framework default) and uses loose `startswith` matching. An unauthenticated WebSocket client (the WS handshake does not require auth; per-view auth runs only after import + instantiate) can therefore send a `mount` / `live_redirect_mount` / `url_change` frame (or an SSE mount) with `view = "<any.importable.module>.AnyName"` and cause the server to import — and execute the top-level code of — any importable Python module by name. Version 1.0.7 fixes the issue with a fail-closed resolution gate (`djust._view_resolution.is_view_import_allowed`): a client view path resolves only if (a) its m

  • Sep 16, 2026djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance.CVE-2026-61596 · Other software · djust-org · reported by GitHubHigh 7.1

djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance. Prior to version 1.0.7, djust's per-object authorization (`get_object` + `has_object_permission`, ADR-017) was enforced on the WebSocket mount and event paths but not on three other render entry points: (a) the initial HTTP GET render, (b) SPA `url_change` navigation, and (c) `{% live_render %}` embedded child views. An authenticated user could therefore view (and on some paths act on) an object they are not authorized for by loading the page directly, navigating to it via SPA url-change, or composing it as an embedded child — a classic IDOR / broken object-level access control on object-scoped views. This is fixed in djust 1.0.7. All render entry points now route through a shared `enforce_object_permission` chokepoint: HTTP GET returns 403, `url_change` emits a `permission_denied` frame and skips the render, and `{% live_render %}` (eager + lazy) refuses the embed. Views without a custom `get_object` are unaffected (no-op). No reliable workaround short of upgrading. Do not expose object-scoped views through the HTTP-GET / url_change / live_render paths until patched.

  • Sep 16, 2026djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance.CVE-2026-61589 · Other software · djust-org · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance. Prior to version 1.0.7, the WebSocket `handle_mount` and `ViewRuntime._build_request` rebuild an `HttpRequest` via `RequestFactory().get(...)` with no `HTTP_HOST`, so `request.get_host()` defaulted to `"testserver"` on the live path. Host/subdomain/domain `TenantResolver`s then misresolved the tenant — `None` on the live path while the HTTP path resolved correctly. With `STRICT_MODE=False` the tenant-scoped managers returned unscoped rows (cross-tenant disclosure); with the default they returned an empty queryset (broken tenancy). This is fixed in djust 1.0.7. The handshake Host is extracted from the ASGI scope, validated against `ALLOWED_HOSTS` (the same logic as the CSWSH Origin gate, parsed with Django's `split_domain_port` so malformed Hosts are rejected at the boundary), and propagated — with the TLS scheme — into the reconstructed request, so live-path tenant resolution matches HTTP exactly. There is no known workaround on the live path short of upgrading. Users are most exposed when combined with `STRICT_MODE=False`.

  • Sep 16, 2026djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance.CVE-2026-61588 · Other software · djust-org · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance. Prior to version 1.0.7, when a Django `Model` instance is assigned to a public view attribute, djust serialized it to the client with no sensitive-field denylist — sending fields such as `password` (the hash), privilege flags (e.g. `is_staff` / `is_superuser`), tokens, and other PII to the browser. Because exposing model objects to templates is a normal djust pattern, this could leak credentials/PII without the developer realizing the full object crossed the wire. This is fixed in djust 1.0.7. Model serialization applies a secure-by-default sensitive-field denylist (password/hash/token/secret-style fields and known privilege flags are withheld) with an identity-subset fallback. As a workaround, keep `Model` instances on `_private` attributes and expose only the specific fields needed, until patched.

  • Sep 16, 2026djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance.CVE-2026-61597 · Other software · djust-org · reported by GitHubMedium 5.1

djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance. Prior to version 1.0.7, many djust built-in component template tags (`djust.components.templatetags.*`) render a developer/user-supplied URL into an `href` / `action` attribute, HTML-escaping it with `conditional_escape` but never validating the URL scheme. HTML escaping prevents attribute breakout but does not neutralize a `javascript:` URI (which needs no escapable characters), so a URL value of `javascript:alert(document.cookie)` lands verbatim in `<a href="javascript:alert(document.cookie)">` and executes in the victim's session on click. Version 1.0.7 contains a fix. As a workaround, do not pass user-controllable URLs to the affected built-in component tags; pre-validate URL schemes in application code before binding them to component arguments.

djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance. Prior to version 1.0.7, the live (WebSocket) transport authorizes a mount via `check_view_auth`, not Django's `View.dispatch()` chain. As a result, standard Django authorization — `LoginRequiredMixin`, `PermissionRequiredMixin`, `UserPassesTestMixin`, `@method_decorator(login_required, name="dispatch")`, and custom `dispatch()` guards — and the djust admin extension's staff gate (applied only in the HTTP `as_view` wrapper) were enforced on the initial HTTP GET but silently bypassed over WebSocket, where all events and state flow. An anonymous or under-privileged client could open a WebSocket and mount such a view — including admin list/create/change/delete — and dispatch its handlers. This is fixed in djust 1.0.7. `check_view_auth` now honors the Django `AccessMixin` family on every transport; a new system check S004 fails loud at startup on auth patterns the runtime cannot safely replay (decorator/overridden-`dispatch` forms); and the admin base mixin declares `login_required = True` + an active-staff `check_permissions` gate. As a workaround, gate views using djust's `lo

djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance. Prior to version 1.0.7, SSE sessions were keyed solely by a client-chosen `session_id` with no binding to the authenticated user — a control the WebSocket transport has but that was dropped on SSE. An attacker who learns (or a victim who leaks) a `session_id` could connect to the message endpoint and dispatch event handlers that execute with the victim's identity and state. This is fixed in djust 1.0.7. Each SSE session is bound to its owning principal at creation and cross-principal access is rejected; SSE session creation is additionally capped per principal. As a workaround, disable the SSE transport.

djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance. Prior to version 1.0.7, for views that opt into state snapshots, the snapshot `state_json` embedded in the client page was restored on reconnect as trusted view state with no integrity check. A client could edit the unsigned `state_json` in their page and return it in the reconnect mount frame to inject arbitrary view attributes — e.g. flip `is_admin` to `True`, or change `account_id` / `balance` — escalating privilege or tampering with business state held in public view attributes (the normal djust pattern). This issue is fixed in djust 1.0.7. State snapshots are signed; unsigned or forged snapshots are rejected on the back-navigation restore path. As a workaround, do not enable state snapshots; do not hold authorization/ownership state in public view attributes.

djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance. Prior to version 1.0.7, `djust.tenants` isolation was enforced only on the HTTP path. The current tenant was stored in `threading.local()` and set exclusively by the HTTP-only `TenantMiddleware`, so on the live (WebSocket/SSE) path `get_current_tenant()` was always `None` during mount and every event handler — and the tenant-aware `QuerySet` manager failed OPEN (returned the unfiltered queryset, ignoring `STRICT_MODE`), disclosing every tenant's rows to whoever held the socket. `threading.local` was additionally shared across connections on the `sync_to_async` executor thread. This issue is fixed in djust 1.0.7. Tenant storage moved to a `contextvars.ContextVar` (per async task); the resolved tenant is bound around WS/SSE mount and every dispatch; both managers scope the base queryset once and fail CLOSED (`.none()` under the default `STRICT_MODE`); and system check S006 warns when `STRICT_MODE=False`. No known workarounds are available on the live path.

djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance. Prior to version 1.0.7, the SSE client→server POST endpoints are `@csrf_exempt` and the SSE GET stream endpoint had no Origin check, so a cross-origin page could drive a victim-cookie-authenticated SSE session: force the victim's browser to GET the stream URL (which creates and mounts a LiveView as the victim) and POST to the message endpoint with `credentials: include` to fire state-changing event handlers as the victim. The URL `session_id` is client-chosen (validated only for UUID *format*), so it is not a CSRF token, and a JSON body sent as `text/plain` is a CORS simple request with no preflight. The issue is fixed in 1.0.7. All three SSE endpoints validate the request `Origin` against `ALLOWED_HOSTS` (mirroring the WebSocket CSWSH defense) and reject cross-origin requests with 403; the POST endpoints additionally require `Content-Type: application/json` (415 otherwise), closing the `text/plain` simple-request bypass. As a workaround, disable the SSE transport, or front it with a proxy that enforces an Origin allowlist.

djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance. Prior to version 1.0.7, `djust.mixins.model_binding.ModelBindingMixin` provides a default `update_model` event handler and is part of the LiveView base MRO, so every LiveView exposes it. It `setattr`s a view attribute whose name is client-supplied (`field`), gated only by: reject `_`-prefixed names; reject a 14-entry denylist of framework internals (`FORBIDDEN_MODEL_FIELDS`); optional `allowed_model_fields` which defaults to None = allow all; and `hasattr` existence. As a result, a client can set any public, existing view attribute — not just the fields actually bound with `dj-model=` in the rendered template. The denylist covers framework plumbing but nothing about developer business/authz state, and the allowlist is opt-in (off by default). A developer who binds one `dj-model="search"` input and also keeps `self.account_id` / `self.is_admin` / `self.total_price` as view state does not realize a client can set ALL of them via `{type:event, event:"update_model", params:{field, value}}` over the WebSocket. djust provides Phoenix LiveView-style reactive server-side rendering for Django with Rust-powered performance. Prior to version 1.0.7, djust's observability endpoints expose live view/session state and a remote method-invocation surface (`eval_handler`). The localhost restriction was an opt-in middleware that the documented setup omits; the views themselves enforced only `DEBUG`. In the misconfigured-but-documented scenario (DEBUG on, middleware not installed) a non-localhost client could read live application state and invoke handlers remotely. This issue is fixed in djust 1.0.7. The localhost restriction is enforced in-view on every observability endpoint (no longer dependent on a separately-installed middleware), and `eval_handler` is restricted; gated requests receive a non-disclosing response. As a workaround, ensure `DEBUG=False` in production, and do not expose the observability endpoints to untrusted networks.

  • Sep 14, 2026Description The setuid-root `worker-launcher` binary adjusts ownership and permissions of worker directories by walking the tree with FTS and calling `lchown` CVE-2026-82429 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 7.8

Description The setuid-root `worker-launcher` binary adjusts ownership and permissions of worker directories by walking the tree with FTS and calling `lchown` and `chmod` on each entry's full pathname while running with an effective uid of 0. Both syscalls re-resolve the path at the time of the call, after FTS has classified the entry, and the trees being walked are owned and writable by the untrusted topology user. A tenant running code on a supervisor node could therefore replace an intermediate directory component with a symbolic link between classification and the privileged operation, redirecting the root-owned `lchown` or `chmod` at an arbitrary file on the host. The operation is repeatable at will, since crashing a worker forces a relaunch and blob updates re-run the walk, so a failed attempt costs the attacker nothing. This crosses the boundary that `supervisor.run.worker.as.user` and container isolation are intended to enforce. It is the same defect class as the Hadoop container-executor issues from which this code derives. Mitigation Upgrade to 3.1.0, where the privileged walk operates on file descriptors it has already stat'd rather than on pathnames re-resolved at

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: fix skb length accounting after generic XDP frag adjustment Generic XDP exposes non-linear skb fragments through an xdp_buff. If an XDP program adjusts the fragment area, bpf_prog_run_generic_xdp() copies xdp_frags_size back to skb->data_len but leaves skb->len containing the old fragment contribution. After a fragment shrink, this makes skb_headlen() larger than the actual linear area. In the reproduced UDP receive path, __skb_datagram_iter() copied 1024 bytes past the actual linear tail to userspace, starting at struct skb_shared_info. The copied bytes included the affected skb's nr_frags, xdp_frags_size and a kernel pointer from skb_shinfo(skb)->frags[0]. Real packet data was displaced by the same amount and truncated at the end. Subtract the old data_len before replacing it and add the new data_len afterwards, keeping skb->len and skb->data_len synchronized. A 60000-byte UDP datagram on a veth pair with MTU 64000 was shortened by 1024 bytes from its fragment area. Before the fix, all 10 runs produced corrupted payloads. After the fix, all 10 runs matched the expected payload exactly.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: veth: fix skb length accounting after XDP frag adjustment veth exposes non-linear skb fragments through an xdp_buff. If an XDP program adjusts the fragment area, veth_xdp_rcv_skb() copies xdp_frags_size back to skb->data_len but leaves skb->len containing the old fragment contribution. After a fragment shrink, this makes skb_headlen() larger than the actual linear area. In the reproduced UDP receive path, __skb_datagram_iter() copied 1024 bytes past the actual linear tail to userspace, starting at struct skb_shared_info. Subtract the old data_len before replacing it and add the new data_len afterwards, keeping skb->len and skb->data_len synchronized. Additionally, bpf_xdp_pull_data() can advance data_end while leaving frags present. The skb is then still non-linear, so the old __skb_put(skb, off) triggers SKB_LINEAR_ASSERT(). Use skb_set_tail_pointer() and update skb->len explicitly instead, following bpf_prog_ru

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_conntrack_reasm: guard mac_header adjustment after IPv6 defrag nf_ct_frag6_reasm() slides the packet head forward to drop the IPv6 fragment header and then unconditionally advances skb->mac_header: skb->mac_header += sizeof(struct frag_hdr); On the NF_INET_LOCAL_OUT defrag path the skb has no link-layer header yet, so skb->mac_header is still the "not set" sentinel (u16)~0U. Adding sizeof(struct frag_hdr) wraps it to a small value (0xffff + 8 == 7), after which skb_mac_header_was_set() wrongly reports a MAC header is present and skb_mac_header() points into the headroom. The reassembler has done this unconditional add since it was introduced; it was harmless while mac_header was a bare pointer, but wrong once mac_header became a u16 offset whose unset state is the ~0U sentinel tested by skb_mac_header_was_set(). The sibling net/ipv6/reassembly.c does the same relocation and does guard the adjustment; mirror the guard here.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ila: reload IPv6 header after pskb_may_pull in checksum adjust ila_csum_adjust_transport() caches ip6h = ipv6_hdr(skb) before calling pskb_may_pull(). On a non-linear skb whose transport header sits in a page fragment, pskb_may_pull() can call __pskb_pull_tail() / pskb_expand_head() and free the old skb head, leaving ip6h dangling; the following get_csum_diff(ip6h, p) then reads freed memory. ila_update_ipv6_locator() uses ip6h (and the iaddr derived from it) again after the csum-adjust call and additionally writes the new locator through that pointer. Impact: a remote IPv6 packet routed through a configured ILA csum-adjust-transport route or receive-side mapping triggers a slab-use-after-free in ila_update_ipv6_locator() (KASAN). The route or mapping requires CAP_NET_ADMIN to configure, but trigger packets are unauthenticated once it exists. Reload ip6h after each pskb_may_pull() in ila_csum_adjust_transport() before the csum-diff read. In ila_update_ipv6_locator() only the ILA_CSUM_ADJUST_TRANSPORT case pulls the skb, so reload ip6h and iaddr in that case alone before the destination-address write; the neutra

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: synproxy: refresh tcphdr after skb_ensure_writable synproxy_tstamp_adjust() rewrites the TCP timestamp option in place and then patches the TCP checksum via inet_proto_csum_replace4() on the caller-supplied tcphdr pointer. Both ipv4_synproxy_hook() and ipv6_synproxy_hook() obtain that pointer with skb_header_pointer() before calling in, so it may either alias skb->head directly or point at the caller's on-stack _tcph buffer. Between obtaining the pointer and using it, the function calls skb_ensure_writable(skb, optend), which on a cloned or non-linear skb invokes pskb_expand_head() and frees the old skb->head. After that point the cached th is stale: caller (ipv[46]_synproxy_hook) th = skb_header_pointer(skb, ..., &_tcph) synproxy_tstamp_adjust(skb, protoff, th, ...) skb_ensure_writable(skb, optend) pskb_expand_head() /* kfree(old skb->head) */ ... inet_proto_csum_replace4(&th->check, ...) /* writes into freed head, or into the caller's stack copy

The OTG being stuck can lead to a hang in the DCHVM's ability to ACK invalidations when it thinks the HUBP is still on but it's not receiving global sync. The transition to PLL_ON needs to be atomic as there's no guarantee that the thread isn't pre-empted or is able to complete before the IOMMU watchdog times out. [How] Backport the implementation from dcn401 back to dcn35. There's a functional difference in when the eDP output is disabled in dcn401 code so we don't want to utilize it directly.

This results in an entry size of 80 bytes. At the start of xfs_attr3_leaf_add_work, the freemap looks like this: i 0 base 448 size 0 rhs 448 count 46 i 1 base 388 size 132 rhs 448 count 46 i 2 base 2120 size 4 rhs 448 count 46 firstused = 520 where "rhs" is the first byte past the end of the leaf entry array. Bspec seems to be telling us to do this only in video mode, and this is also how the Windows driver does things. This should also fix a div-by-zero on some machines because the adjusted htotal ends up being so small that we end up with line_time_us==0 when trying to determine the vtotal value in command mode. Note that this doesn't actually make the display on the Huawei Matebook E work, but at least the kernel no longer explodes when the driver loads. This is not always the case however, as shown in the syzbot generated case for erofs. This causes too many bytes to be skipped for uptodate blocks, which results in returning the incorrect position and length to read in. If all the blocks are uptodate, this underflows length and returns a position beyond the folio. Fix the calculation to also take into account the block offset when calculating how many bytes can be skipped for uptodate blocks.

If the range isn't dirty we do bit_start++; to move onto the next bit. The problem is the bitmap is based on the number of sectors that an EB has. So in this case, we have a 64k pagesize, 16k nodesize, but a 4k sectorsize. This means our bitmap is 4 bits for every node. With a 64k page size we end up with 4 nodes per page. To make this easier this is how everything looks [0 16k 32k 48k ] logical address [0 4 8 12 ] radix tree offset [ 64k page ] folio [ 16k eb ][ 16k eb ][ 16k eb ][ 16k eb ] extent buffers [ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | ] bitmap Now we use all of our addressing based on fs_info->sectorsize_bits, so as you can see the above our 16k eb->star

  • Mar 7, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thermal/netlink: Prevent userspace segmentation fault by adjusting UAPI header The intel-lCVE-2025-21840 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thermal/netlink: Prevent userspace segmentation fault by adjusting UAPI header The intel-lpmd tool [1], which uses the THERMAL_GENL_ATTR_CPU_CAPABILITY attribute to receive HFI events from kernel space, encounters a segmentation fault after commit 1773572863c4 ("thermal: netlink: Add the commands and the events for the thresholds"). The issue arises because the THERMAL_GENL_ATTR_CPU_CAPABILITY raw value was changed while intel_lpmd still uses the old value. Although intel_lpmd can be updated to check the THERMAL_GENL_VERSION and use the appropriate THERMAL_GENL_ATTR_CPU_CAPABILITY value, the commit itself is questionable. The commit introduced a new element in the middle of enum thermal_genl_attr, which affects many existing attributes and introduces potential risks and unnecessary maintenance burdens for userspace thermal netlink event users. Solve the issue by moving the newly introduced THERMAL_GENL_ATTR_TZ_PREV_TEMP attribute to the end of the enum thermal_genl_attr. This ensures that all existing thermal generic netlink attributes remain unaffected. [ rjw: Subject edits ]

A racing recvmsg() spooling data received on an already established subflow would unconditionally call tcp_cleanup_rbuf() on all the current subflows, potentially hitting a divide by zero error on the newly created ones. Explicitly check that the subflow is in a suitable state before invoking tcp_cleanup_rbuf().
