  • Oct 13, 2026Claude Code is an agentic coding tool.CVE-2026-86063 · Other software · anthropics · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. Prior to 2.1.179, the Claude Code and Claude Desktop plugin installation flow runs git checkout for a marketplace-pinned commit without verifying that the resulting HEAD equals the pinned 40-character SHA. An attacker who controls a plugin repository on a Git host that permits SHA-shaped branch names can create a branch named after the reviewed commit, causing checkout to select the branch tip and install attacker-controlled plugin code. Exploitation requires a user to install the malicious plugin and pin it to the ostensibly safe hash. This issue is fixed in version 2.1.179.

  • Oct 7, 2026Claude Code validated that a target file path resided within the project working directory at permission-check time, but re-resolved the path at write time withCVE-2026-103435 · Other software · Anthropic · reported by 98a01053-8a31-4f6d-9aa9-252be161adc6High 7.7

Claude Code validated that a target file path resided within the project working directory at permission-check time, but re-resolved the path at write time without repeating that validation. This time-of-check to time-of-use (TOCTOU) gap allowed an attacker who could write to the workspace to atomically replace a project file with a symlink, causing Claude Code to follow the symlink and write its output to an arbitrary file outside the project sandbox. Exploitation required the ability to win a race condition against the write operation and write access to the shared workspace, enabling a lower-privileged attacker to redirect benign edits to sensitive files (e.g., shell configuration) in a higher-privileged session. Users on standard Claude Code auto-update have received this fix already. Users performing manual updates are advised to update to the latest version. Thank you to hackerone.com/c_h4ck_0 for reporting this issue.

  • Sep 30, 2026Claude Code selected an API key stored by Claude Code, for example from an earlier `/login` or written directly to its configuration, ahead of the user's valid CVE-2026-103012 · Other software · Anthropic · reported by 98a01053-8a31-4f6d-9aa9-252be161adc6Low 2

Claude Code selected an API key stored by Claude Code, for example from an earlier `/login` or written directly to its configuration, ahead of the user's valid Claude Enterprise or Team sign-in when fetching the organization's server-managed settings, even though the session itself authenticated with the Enterprise or Team account. When the settings endpoint rejected that stored key, the session started without the organization's server-managed policy (such as permission deny rules, model restrictions and managed-only locks) or, if a previously cached copy existed on the machine, kept applying that stale copy without receiving later policy changes — while continuing to operate as the organization's account. Triggering this required local access to a device with such a stored API key; the no-policy case additionally required that no managed settings had previously been cached. Endpoint-managed (MDM or file-based) settings were not affected. Claude for Enterprise organizations were affected from version 2.0.68; Claude for Work (Team) organizations from version 2.1.38, when server-managed settings became available to them. Users on standard Claude Code auto-update have received this

  • Aug 11, 2026Claude Code Templates is a CLI tool for configuring and monitoring Claude Code.CVE-2026-73222 · Other software · davila7 · reported by GitHubHigh 8.8

Claude Code Templates is a CLI tool for configuring and monitoring Claude Code. Prior to 1.29.4, the Claude Code Studio server launched by the --studio option in cli-tool/src/sandbox-server.js binds to all interfaces on port 3444, permits cross-origin requests, and requires no authentication. The POST /api/execute endpoint passes the prompt request-body field to executeLocalTask(), and POST /api/install-agent passes the agentName request-body field to a child process. The same unsafe agent field path is reachable from /api/execute through checkAndInstallAgent(). These attacker-controlled values reach child_process.spawn() with shell execution enabled, causing Node.js to construct a shell command in which metacharacters are interpreted. An attacker who can reach the port directly, or who convinces a developer running Studio to visit a malicious website, can execute arbitrary operating-system commands with the developer's privileges and compromise source code, credentials, and local data. This issue is fixed in version 1.29.4.

  • Jul 16, 2026Claude Code Action is a general-purpose GitHub action that runs Claude Code on GitHub pull requests and issues.CVE-2026-47751 · Other software · anthropics · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3

Claude Code Action is a general-purpose GitHub action that runs Claude Code on GitHub pull requests and issues. Prior to 1.0.74, because the action checked out attacker-controlled pull request head branches, read .mcp.json from the working directory via default setting sources, and unconditionally enabled all project MCP servers via enableAllProjectMcpServers, an attacker who opened a pull request containing a malicious .mcp.json file could achieve arbitrary code execution on the GitHub Actions runner and exfiltrate secrets available to the workflow (such as API keys and tokens) when a privileged user or an automatic trigger invoked the Claude action on the pull request. This issue is fixed in version 1.0.74, which restores .claude/ and .mcp.json from the pull request base branch before the CLI runs.

  • Jun 29, 2026Claude Code is an agentic coding tool.CVE-2026-55607 · Other software · anthropics · reported by GitHubHigh 7.7

Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. From 2.1.38 until 2.1.163, Claude Code's worktree handling allowed creation of worktrees named ".git" and navigation to worktrees outside the sandbox context, enabling git directory confusion attacks. By exploiting symlink manipulation and git fsmonitor execution during worktree operations, an attacker could overwrite files in the user's home directory (such as .zshenv), leading to code execution outside of seatbelt sandbox restrictions. Reliably exploiting this required the user to clone a malicious repository containing prompt injection content and run Claude Code against it. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.1.163.

  • Jun 29, 2026Claude Code is an agentic coding tool.CVE-2026-46406 · Other software · anthropics · reported by GitHubMedium 4.4

Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. From 2.1.59 until 2.1.128, the Claude Code /copy command wrote responses to a hardcoded, predictable path (/tmp/claude/response.md) without UID isolation, randomness, or symlink protection. The file was created world-readable (0644) in a world-traversable directory (0755), allowing any local user to read a privileged user's Claude response, which could contain secrets or credentials. Additionally, because the path was static and predictable, a local attacker could pre-create the directory and plant a symlink at the expected file path, causing the privileged process to follow the symlink and overwrite an attacker-chosen file with the response text. Exploiting this required a local unprivileged user on the same system and a privileged user to run the /copy command. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.1.128.

  • Jun 23, 2026Claude Code is an agentic coding tool.CVE-2026-54316 · Other software · anthropics · reported by GitHubMedium 6

Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. From 0.2.54 until 2.1.163, because the hostname huggingface.co was pre-approved as a bare hostname for the WebFetch tool, any path on that domain—including attacker-controlled model repositories—was auto-approved without a permission prompt or being subject to --allowedTools restrictions. An attacker able to inject untrusted content into a Claude Code context could direct it to issue WebFetch requests against attacker-controlled repository files (e.g. /resolve/main/config.json), which HuggingFace counts as downloads server-side, creating a covert out-of-band channel for encoding and exfiltrating data Claude can access such as files, environment variables, or command output. Reliably exploiting this required the ability to add untrusted content into a Claude Code context window. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.1.163.

  • May 27, 2026claude-code-cache-fix is a cache optimization proxy for Claude Code.CVE-2026-45136 · Other software · cnighswonger · reported by GitHubHigh 8.6

claude-code-cache-fix is a cache optimization proxy for Claude Code. From 3.5.0 to before 3.5.2, tools/quota-statusline.sh (introduced in v3.5.0) interpolates Claude Code's hook stdin payload directly into a Python triple-quoted string literal. A ''' byte sequence in any user-controlled field of the payload closes the literal early and lets following bytes execute as Python in the user's Claude Code process. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.5.2.

  • May 13, 2026The Claude Desktop app gives you Claude Code with a graphical interface built for running multiple sessions side by side.CVE-2026-44470 · Other software · anthropics · reported by GitHubHigh 8.5

The Claude Desktop app gives you Claude Code with a graphical interface built for running multiple sessions side by side. Prior to 1.3834.0, the CoworkVMService component in Claude Desktop for Windows ran as SYSTEM and did not validate whether the VM bundle directory was a real directory or an NTFS directory junction before creating files within it. A local non-elevated user could replace the user-writable VM bundle directory with a directory junction pointing to an attacker-chosen location, causing the service to create a SYSTEM-owned file in an arbitrary directory. This could be leveraged for local privilege escalation. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.3834.0.

  • May 13, 2026The Claude Desktop app gives you Claude Code with a graphical interface built for running multiple sessions side by side.CVE-2026-44467 · Other software · anthropics · reported by GitHubHigh 7.4

The Claude Desktop app gives you Claude Code with a graphical interface built for running multiple sessions side by side. From 1.2581.0 to before 1.4304.0, Claude Desktop's SSH remote development feature verified only whether a hostname existed in ~/.ssh/known_hosts without comparing the server's presented host key against the stored key. This allowed a network-positioned attacker to present an arbitrary SSH host key and have the connection silently accepted, enabling a man-in-the-middle attack on remote development sessions. Successful exploitation required the attacker to be in a network position to intercept SSH traffic (e.g., via ARP spoofing, rogue Wi-Fi, or DNS poisoning) and the target hostname to already have an entry in the victim's known_hosts file. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.4304.0.

  • May 5, 2026In versions 2.1.63 through 2.1.83 of Claude Code, the folder trust determination logic used the git worktree commondir file without validating its contents.CVE-2026-40068 · Other software · anthropics · reported by GitHubHigh 7.7

In versions 2.1.63 through 2.1.83 of Claude Code, the folder trust determination logic used the git worktree commondir file without validating its contents. An attacker could craft a malicious repository with a commondir file pointing to a path the victim had previously trusted, causing Claude Code to bypass its trust confirmation dialog and immediately execute hooks defined in `.claude/settings.json`. Exploitation requires the victim to clone the malicious repository and run Claude Code within it, and the attacker must know or guess a path the victim had already trusted. This issue has been fixed in version 2.1.84.

  • Apr 20, 2026Claude Code is an agentic coding tool.CVE-2026-39861 · Other software · anthropics · reported by GitHubHigh 7.7

Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. Prior to version 2.1.64, Claude Code's sandbox did not prevent sandboxed processes from creating symlinks pointing to locations outside the workspace. When Claude Code subsequently wrote to a path within such a symlink, its unsandboxed process followed the symlink and wrote to the target location outside the workspace without prompting the user for confirmation. This allowed a sandbox escape where neither the sandboxed command nor the unsandboxed app could independently write outside the workspace, but their combination could write to arbitrary locations, potentially leading to code execution outside the sandbox. Reliably exploiting this required the ability to add untrusted content into a Claude Code context window to trigger sandboxed code execution via prompt injection. Users on standard Claude Code auto-update have received this fix automatically. Users performing manual updates are advised to update to version 2.1.64 or later.

  • Apr 17, 2026Claude Code is an agentic coding tool.CVE-2026-35603 · Other software · anthropics · reported by GitHubMedium 5.4

Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. In versions prior to 2.1.75 on Windows, Claude Code loaded the system-wide default configuration from C:\ProgramData\ClaudeCode\managed-settings.json without validating directory ownership or access permissions. Because the ProgramData directory is writable by non-administrative users by default and the ClaudeCode subdirectory was not pre-created or access-restricted, a low-privileged local user could create this directory and place a malicious configuration file that would be automatically loaded for any user launching Claude Code on the same machine. Exploiting this would have required a shared multi-user Windows system and a victim user to launch Claude Code after the malicious configuration was placed. This issue has been fixed on version 2.1.75.

  • Mar 20, 2026Claude Code is an agentic coding tool.CVE-2026-33068 · Other software · anthropics · reported by GitHubHigh 7.7

Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. Versions prior to 2.1.53 resolved the permission mode from settings files, including the repo-controlled .claude/settings.json, before determining whether to display the workspace trust confirmation dialog. A malicious repository could set permissions.defaultMode to bypassPermissions in its committed .claude/settings.json, causing the trust dialog to be silently skipped on first open. This allowed a user to be placed into a permissive mode without seeing the trust confirmation prompt, making it easier for an attacker-controlled repository to gain tool execution without explicit user consent. This issue has been patched in version 2.1.53.

  • Feb 6, 2026Claude Code is an agentic coding tool.CVE-2026-25725 · Other software · anthropics · reported by GitHubHigh 7.7

Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. Prior to version 2.1.2, Claude Code's bubblewrap sandboxing mechanism failed to properly protect the .claude/settings.json configuration file when it did not exist at startup. While the parent directory was mounted as writable and .claude/settings.local.json was explicitly protected with read-only constraints, settings.json was not protected if it was missing. This allowed malicious code running inside the sandbox to create this file and inject persistent hooks (such as SessionStart commands) that would execute with host privileges when Claude Code was restarted. This issue has been patched in version 2.1.2.

Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. Prior to version 1.0.111, Claude Code contained insufficient URL validation in its trusted domain verification mechanism for WebFetch requests. The application used a startsWith() function to validate trusted domains (e.g., docs.python.org, modelcontextprotocol.io), this could have enabled attackers to register domains like modelcontextprotocol.io.example.com that would pass validation. This could enable automatic requests to attacker-controlled domains without user consent, potentially leading to data exfiltration. This issue has been patched in version 1.0.111.

Prior to version 1.0.4, it's possible to bypass the Claude Code confirmation prompts to read a file and then send file contents over the network without user confirmation due to an overly broad allowlist of safe commands. Reliably exploiting this requires the ability to add untrusted content into a Claude Code context window. Users on standard Claude Code auto-update received this fix automatically after release. Current users of Claude Code are unaffected, as versions prior to 1.0.24 are deprecated and have been forced to update.

Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. In versions below 1.0.20, an error in command parsing makes it possible to bypass the Claude Code confirmation prompt to trigger execution of an untrusted command. Reliably exploiting this requires the ability to add untrusted content into a Claude Code context window. This is fixed in version 1.0.20.

Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. In versions below 0.2.111, a path validation flaw using prefix matching instead of canonical path comparison, makes it possible to bypass directory restrictions and access files outside the CWD. Successful exploitation depends on the presence of (or ability to create) a directory with the same prefix as the CWD and the ability to add untrusted content into a Claude Code context window. This is fixed in version 0.2.111.

Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. Claude Code extensions in VSCode and forks (e.g., Cursor, Windsurf, and VSCodium) and JetBrains IDEs (e.g., IntelliJ, Pycharm, and Android Studio) are vulnerable to unauthorized websocket connections from an attacker when visiting attacker-controlled webpages. Claude Code for VSCode IDE extensions versions 0.2.116 through 1.0.23 are vulnerable. For Jetbrains IDE plugins, Claude Code [beta] versions 0.1.1 through 0.1.8 are vulnerable. In VSCode (and forks), exploitation would allow an attacker to read arbitrary files, see the list of files open in the IDE, get selection and diagnostics events from the IDE, or execute code in limited situations where a user has an open Jupyter Notebook and accepts a malicious prompt. In JetBrains IDEs, an attacker could get selection events, a list of open files, and a list of syntax errors. Claude released a patch for this issue on June 13th, 2025. Although Claude Code auto-updates when a user launch it and auto-updates the extensions, users should take the following steps, though the exact steps depend on one's integrated development environment (IDE). For VSCode, Cursor, Windsurf, VSCodium, and other VSCode f

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
