Oct 14, 2026Appium is a cross-platform automation framework for all kinds of apps, built on top of the W3C WebDriver protocol.CVE-2026-103975 · Other software · appium · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5
Appium is a cross-platform automation framework for all kinds of apps, built on top of the W3C WebDriver protocol. Prior to 7.2.6, @appium/support ZIP extraction accepts an archive entry that creates a symbolic link to a location outside the extraction directory and then accepts a later regular-file entry whose legitimate name resolves through that link. The lexical containment check examines entry names without validating the symlink target or the real destination, so an attacker-controlled archive can write files to arbitrary locations writable by the Appium process. This is distinct from the earlier parent-directory entry-name traversal fixed in 7.0.6 because the bypass uses no parent-directory or absolute entry name. Depending on the writable destination, the arbitrary file write can overwrite configuration, startup scripts, or executables and lead to code execution. This issue is fixed in version 7.2.6.

Sep 1, 2026appium-mcp-server through 0.1.61 fails to validate or normalize file paths in the write_file and write_files_batch tools, allowing attackers to write files outsCVE-2026-84201 · Other software · argneshu · reported by VulnCheckMedium 6.9
appium-mcp-server through 0.1.61 fails to validate or normalize file paths in the write_file and write_files_batch tools, allowing attackers to write files outside the intended PROJECT_ROOT directory. Attackers can supply absolute paths or relative paths with parent directory segments to overwrite arbitrary files with the server user's privileges, including shell profiles and configuration files in the home directory.

Jul 28, 2026Appium Java Client is the Java language binding for writing Appium tests that conform to the W3C WebDriver protocol.CVE-2026-43910 · Other software · appium · reported by GitHubHigh 8.2
Appium Java Client is the Java language binding for writing Appium tests that conform to the W3C WebDriver protocol. From 8.2.1 until 10.1.1, when directConnect(true) is enabled, AppiumCommandExecutor.setDirectConnect() reads the directConnectHost, directConnectPort, and directConnectPath fields from the server's NEW_SESSION response and rebuilds the client's server URL from them, validating only that the protocol is https, with no host allowlist or IP validation; a rogue or compromised server can therefore redirect all subsequent session traffic to an arbitrary destination, enabling full interception of session traffic and a server-side request forgery pivot to internal hosts, including cloud metadata (IMDS) credential theft. This vulnerability is fixed in 10.1.1.

Jul 13, 2026MCP Appium is an MCP server that provides AI assistants with tools to automate mobile app testing on Android and iOS.CVE-2026-58500 · Other software · appium · reported by GitHubHigh 8.2
MCP Appium is an MCP server that provides AI assistants with tools to automate mobile app testing on Android and iOS. In versions prior to 1.85.10, the createLocatorGeneratorUI function interpolates attacker-controlled element attributes — text, content-desc, resource-id, and locator selector values — directly into an HTML template literal without any HTML or JavaScript context escaping. An attacker who controls the UI of the app under test can inject arbitrary HTML and JavaScript into the MCP UI resource returned by the generate_locators tool. When a victim's MCP client renders this resource, the injected script executes and can invoke arbitrary MCP tools via window.parent.postMessage, leading to unauthorized MCP tool execution such as taking screenshots, reading page source, or any other registered capability. This issue has been fixed in version 1.85.10.

Jul 8, 2026Appium is a cross-platform automation framework for all kinds of apps, built on top of the W3C WebDriver protocol.CVE-2026-58192 · Other software · appium · reported by GitHubHigh 8.6
Appium is a cross-platform automation framework for all kinds of apps, built on top of the W3C WebDriver protocol. Prior to 1.1.6, the Appium storage plugin exposes POST /storage/delete, whose handler passes the user-supplied name value directly into path.join(storageRoot, name) and fs.rimraf() without path sanitization, allowing an unauthenticated remote client to escape the storage root with ../ sequences and recursively delete arbitrary writable files or directories. This issue is fixed in version 1.1.6.

Jul 8, 2026Appium is a cross-platform automation framework for all kinds of apps, built on top of the W3C WebDriver protocol.CVE-2026-58191 · Other software · appium · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5
Appium is a cross-platform automation framework for all kinds of apps, built on top of the W3C WebDriver protocol. Prior to 10.7.0, Appium's base-driver unconditionally mounts the /test/guinea-pig, /test/guinea-pig-scrollable, and /test/guinea-pig-app-banner routes, and compileLodashTemplate reflects the throwError query parameter, comments POST field, and User-Agent request header into HTML without escaping, allowing reflected cross-site scripting and arbitrary JavaScript execution on the server origin. This issue is fixed in version 10.7.0.

May 18, 2026WebdriverIO is a test automation framework for unit, e2e and component testing using WebDriver, WebDriver BiDi and Appium.CVE-2026-25244 · Other software · webdriverio · reported by GitHubCritical 9.8
WebdriverIO is a test automation framework for unit, e2e and component testing using WebDriver, WebDriver BiDi and Appium. Versions below 9.24.0 contain a command injection vulnerability leading to remote code execution (RCE) in test orchestration. Git permits branch names containing shell metacharacters, and getGitMetadataForAISelection() interpolates these names directly into execSync() calls without sanitization. An attacker can exploit this by supplying a malicious repository (via testOrchestrationOptions.runSmartSelection.source, or the current directory if unset) whose branch name carries a payload, causing the shell to execute arbitrary code. This enables remote code execution on CI/CD servers and developer machines, leading to credential and secret disclosure, source code and SSH key exfiltration, system compromise, and supply chain attacks via tampered build artifacts. The issue has been fixed in version 9.24.0.

Mar 10, 2026Appium is an automation framework that provides WebDriver-based automation possibilities for a wide range platforms.CVE-2026-30973 · Other software · @appium · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5
Appium is an automation framework that provides WebDriver-based automation possibilities for a wide range platforms. Prior to 7.0.6, @appium/support contains a ZIP extraction implementation (extractAllTo() via ZipExtractor.extract()) with a path traversal (Zip Slip) check that is non-functional. The check at line 88 of packages/support/lib/zip.js creates an Error object but never throws it, allowing malicious ZIP entries with ../ path components to write files outside the intended destination directory. This affects all JS-based extractions (the default code path), not only those using the fileNamesEncoding option. This vulnerability is fixed in 7.0.6.

May 31, 2018appium-chromedriver is a Node.js wrapper around Chromedriver.CVE-2016-10557 · Other software · HackerOne · reported by support@hackerone.comHigh 8.1
appium-chromedriver is a Node.js wrapper around Chromedriver. Versions below 2.9.4 download binary resources over HTTP, which leaves the module vulnerable to MITM attacks. It may be possible to cause remote code execution (RCE) by swapping out the requested binary with an attacker controlled binary if the attacker is on the network or positioned in between the user and the remote server.

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
