  • Oct 21, 2026When NLnet Labs Unbound up to and including version 1.26.1 is configured with both a root trust anchor and an additional 'trust-anchor:' for an island-of-securiCVE-2026-50106 · Other software · NLnet Labs · reported by sep@nlnetlabs.nlMedium 6.5

When NLnet Labs Unbound up to and including version 1.26.1 is configured with both a root trust anchor and an additional 'trust-anchor:' for an island-of-security zone whose parent is provably insecure under the root chain, a malicious actor who can deliver one forged NXDOMAIN response for a name inside the island, with the NSEC/SOA RRSIG 'SignerName' set to the insecure parent, tricks Unbound's validator to use the root trust anchor instead, and consecutively the insecure parent, thus causing that record to be treated as insecure and denying existence for records in the trust island.

When NLnet Labs Unbound 1.0.1 up to and including version 1.26.1 is configured with both a root trust anchor and an additional 'trust-anchor:' for an island-of-security zone whose parent is provably insecure under the root chain, a malicious actor with a forged NSEC reply with the SOA bit cleared can trick Unbound to treat the configured trust island as insecure. This happens because the DNSSEC validator in Unbound accepts and caches the NSEC insecure response bypassing the RRSIG validation that the validator was supposed to do. The acceptance of the NSEC record at the trust anchor apex was allowed due to and old fix for type DS and NSEC queries from clients when trust anchor for that name existed.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: EDAC/altera: Use parent device for devres in altr_portb_setup() Anchor the devres group and the devm-managed IRQ requests in altr_portb_setup() to the actual parent device (device->edac->dev) instead of the embedded struct device inside the copied per-port altr_edac_device_dev. This keeps devres_open_group(), devm_request_irq(), devres_remove_group() and devres_release_group() all referring to the same long-lived device so the group and the resources allocated inside it are torn down together.

  • Sep 26, 2026Contrast (Edgeless Systems) through 1.20.0 performs unanchored suffix matching when selecting per-registry configuration in the imagepuller.CVE-2026-100837 · Other software · edgelesssys · reported by VulnCheckMedium 6.3

Contrast (Edgeless Systems) through 1.20.0 performs unanchored suffix matching when selecting per-registry configuration in the imagepuller. Config.registryFor strips a single trailing dot and then uses strings.HasSuffix(hostname, fqdn) without requiring a DNS label boundary, so a registry entry such as [registries."ghcr.io."] is also applied to any host whose name merely ends in that byte sequence, including attacker-registered domains such as evilghcr.io. When an image or layer is pulled from such a sibling domain, the imagepuller sends the configured Authorization header (basic auth, registry token, or identity token), trusts the configured custom CA bundle, follows the configured mirror, and honours insecure-skip-verify (disabling TLS verification) for that host. Image integrity is not affected, as image bytes remain pinned by digest in the policy and are validated after the pull. Configurations that use a leading dot (e.g., [registries.".example.registry"]) are unaffected.

Hugo versions 0.75.0 through 0.165.x contain a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability: the syntax highlighter does not escape the `lineAnchors` option before passing it to Chroma, which writes the value verbatim into the `id` and `href` attributes of the generated line-number markup. A crafted `lineAnchors` value supplied as a Markdown code fence attribute (or passed to the `highlight` template function) results in unescaped HTML in the rendered page, allowing arbitrary JavaScript to execute in the browsers of visitors to the generated site. This affects sites that build and publish Markdown from untrusted contributors; Hugo's security model otherwise considers content trusted input. Fixed in 0.166.0, where the `lineAnchors` value is HTML-escaped before being passed to Chroma.

  • Aug 27, 2026openssl_encrypt (pip: openssl-encrypt) versions <= 1.4.8 use suffix-tolerant fingerprint matching in enroll_trust_key when binding a plugin-signing trust anchorCVE-2026-81714 · Other software · jahlives · reported by VulnCheckCritical 9.3

openssl_encrypt (pip: openssl-encrypt) versions <= 1.4.8 use suffix-tolerant fingerprint matching in enroll_trust_key when binding a plugin-signing trust anchor. An operator who confirms a short (forgeable, ~32-bit) GPG key id could unknowingly enroll an attacker's colliding key as a trusted anchor, which then vouches for malicious plugins under the ENFORCE signature policy. • Aug 22, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: us144mkii: re-anchor capture URBs on resubmission capture_urb_complete() resubmits eCVE-2026-74639 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: us144mkii: re-anchor capture URBs on resubmission capture_urb_complete() resubmits each capture URB without anchoring it: usb_get_urb(urb); ret = usb_submit_urb(urb, GFP_ATOMIC); Anchoring is a property of a submission, not of the URB. The giveback path calls usb_unanchor_urb() before urb->complete(), so an URB resubmitted from its own completion handler is off the anchor. The capture URBs are anchored once, at stream start, so from the first completion onward tascam->capture_anchor is empty. tascam_free_urbs(), tascam_disconnect(), tascam_suspend() and the stop-work path all call usb_kill_anchored_urbs(&tascam->capture_anchor) to reap the capture URBs before anything is freed. With the anchor empty those calls return immediately and the URBs stay queued on the host controller. tascam_free_urbs() then returns the capture transfer buffers with usb_free_coherent(), and snd_card_free() releases the snd_card allocation that embeds tascam (card->private_data). The controller completes the queued URBs afterwards, writing device-supplied data into the freed transfer buffer, and capture_urb_complete() der

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: us144mkii: capture_urb_complete: redundant usb_anchor_urb corrupts anchor list on each resubmission In capture_urb_complete(), usb_anchor_urb() is called on every completion callback, but the URB is already anchored from the initial submission in tascam_trigger_start(). Each redundant call corrupts the anchor's doubly-linked list and inflates the URB refcount. • Aug 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: esd_usb: kill anchored URBs before freeing netdevs esd_usb_disconnect() frees each CACVE-2026-64585 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: esd_usb: kill anchored URBs before freeing netdevs esd_usb_disconnect() frees each CAN netdev with free_candev() inside its per-netdev loop and only calls unlink_all_urbs(dev) afterwards. The per-netdev private data (struct esd_usb_net_priv) is embedded in the net_device allocation returned by alloc_candev(), so once free_candev() has run, dev->nets[i] points to freed memory. unlink_all_urbs() then dereferences the freed dev->nets[i] to kill the per-netdev TX anchor (usb_kill_anchored_urbs(&priv->tx_submitted)), clear active_tx_jobs, and reset priv->tx_contexts[]. Reorder the teardown so the anchored URBs are killed before the netdevs are freed, matching other CAN/USB drivers in the same directory such as ems_usb, usb_8dev and mcba_usb, which unregister, then unlink, then free: unregister the netdevs first (which stops their TX queues), call unlink_all_urbs(dev) once, then free the netdevs. This issue was found by an in-house static analysis tool.

Date::Manip versions through 7.00 for Perl allow CPU exhaustion via quadratic backtracking in the unanchored time substitution in _parse_time. _parse_time removes a time from anywhere in the string with the unanchored substitution `s/$timerx/ /`, where $timerx is an auto-generated alternation of time patterns reached through a leading `(?:$atrx|^|\s+)`. The engine therefore retries the match at every position of an interior whitespace run: at each start position the leading `\s+` consumes the rest of the run greedily, the time alternation fails because the run holds no digits, and the engine backtracks a space at a time across the run before advancing the start position, which is quadratic in the length of the run. No time need be present in the string for this to happen, only a long run of whitespace, and the parse time rises about fourfold for each doubling of the run: a few kilobytes of whitespace costs seconds of CPU per parse and tens of kilobytes costs minutes. Any caller that passes an untrusted string of unbounded length to ParseDate(), Date::Manip::Date->parse() or ->parse_time() can be made to spend unbounded CPU in a single parse, a denial of service.

YAML::Syck versions before 1.47 for Perl allow a heap use-after-free via an anchor name reused as an anchors-table key in syck_hdlr_add_anchor. In the bundled libsyck an anchor name allocated by syck_strndup is stored both as node->anchor, freed when the node is freed, and as the key in the parser's anchors table. Freeing the node frees the shared key, and a later anchor redefinition makes st_delete compare against the freed key, so st_strcmp reads freed heap memory. Anchors are a standard YAML feature and need no special flags, so this is reached on the default Load path. Any caller that runs Load or LoadFile on an untrusted document that redefines an anchor reaches the read of freed memory.

YAML::Syck versions before 1.47 for Perl allow a use-after-free and double-free via an anchor node freed while still on the parser value stack. In the bundled libsyck, when an anchor name is redefined or removed, syck_hdlr_add_anchor and syck_hdlr_remove_anchor free the node stored under that name with syck_free_node. That node can still be live on the parser's value stack, so syck_hdlr_add_node reaches it again and frees it a second time. On a normal build the 48-byte node chunk is freed twice and the interpreter aborts. Anchors need no special flags, so this is reached on the default Load path, and a 7-byte document that redefines an anchor triggers it. Any caller that runs Load or LoadFile on an untrusted document that redefines an anchor mid-parse crashes the interpreter, a denial of service.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: tls: fix strparser anchor skb leak on offload RX setup failure When tls_set_device_offload_rx() fails at tls_dev_add(), the error path calls tls_sw_free_resources_rx() to clean up the SW context that was initialized by tls_set_sw_offload(). This function calls tls_sw_release_resources_rx() (which stops the strparser via tls_strp_stop()) and tls_sw_free_ctx_rx() (which kfrees the context), but never frees the anchor skb that was allocated by alloc_skb(0) in tls_strp_init(). Note that tls_sw_free_resources_rx() is exclusively used for this "failed to start offload" code path, there's no other caller. The leak did not exist before commit 84c61fe1a75b ("tls: rx: do not use the standard strparser"), because the standard strparser doesn't try to pre-allocate an skb. The normal close path in tls_sk_proto_close() handles cleanup by calling tls_sw_strparser_done() (which calls tls_strp_done()) after dropping the socket lock, because tls_strp_done() does cancel_work_sync() and the strparser work handler takes the socket lock.

Anchor is a framework providing several convenient developer tools for writing Solana programs. From 1.0.0 to before 1.0.2, an logic error causes anchor programs to accept any program id when requiring the system program id, causing false assumptions resulting in potential arbitrary cpi in programs that invoke system program instructions. In the TryFrom<&'a AccountInfo<'a>> implementation for Program<'a, T>, the id of T is compared with Pubkey::default() to check whether anchor should allow any executable account, or a specific account, because when no T is supplied, T defaults to (), which implements Id::id() by returning Pubkey::default(). This results in T = () and T = System (which has Pubkey::default() as the id) having the same behavior, both allow any executable account. Programs built with anchor assume that the anchor runtime verifies passed in programs of type Program<'a, System> are in fact the system program. This false assumption can lead to arbitrary CPI or payment bypassing when programs try making CPI calls to the system program using the passed in system program due to the fact that the attacker can pass in any program instead of the system program. Syft is a a CLI tool and Go library for generating a Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) from container images and filesystems. Syft versions before v1.42.3 would not properly cleanup temporary storage if the temporary storage was exhausted during a scan. When scanning archives Syft will unpack those archives into temporary storage then inspect the unpacked contents. Under normal operation Syft will remove the temporary data it writes after completing a scan. This vulnerability would affect users of Syft that were scanning content that could cause Syft to fill the temporary storage that would then cause Syft to raise an error and exit. When the error is triggered Syft would exit without properly removing the temporary files in use. In our testing this was most easily reproduced by scanning very large artifacts or highly compressed artifacts such as a zipbomb. Because Syft would not clean up its temporary files, the result would be filling temporary file storage preventing future runs of Syft or other system utilities that rely on temporary storage being available. The patch has been released in v1.42.3. Syft now cleans up temporary files when an error condition is encountered. There

  • Mar 19, 2026Anchorr is a Discord bot for requesting movies and TV shows and receiving notifications when items are added to a media server.CVE-2026-32891 · Other software · openVESSL · reported by GitHubCritical 9

Anchorr is a Discord bot for requesting movies and TV shows and receiving notifications when items are added to a media server. Versions 1.4.1 and below contain a stored XSS vulnerability in the Jellyseerr user selector. Jellyseerr allows any account holder to execute arbitrary JavaScript in the Anchorr admin's browser session. The injected script calls the authenticated /api/config endpoint - which returns the full application configuration in plaintext. This allows the attacker to forge a valid Anchorr session token and gain full admin access to the dashboard with no knowledge of the admin password. The same response also exposes the API keys and tokens for every integrated service, resulting in simultaneous account takeover of the Jellyfin media server (via JELLYFIN_API_KEY), the Jellyseerr request manager (via JELLYSEERR_API_KEY), and the Discord bot (via DISCORD_TOKEN). This issue has been fixed in version 1.4.2.

Anchorr is a Discord bot for requesting movies and TV shows and receiving notifications when items are added to a media server. In versions 1.4.1 and below, a stored Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the web dashboard's User Mapping dropdown allows any unprivileged Discord user in the configured guild to execute arbitrary JavaScript in the Anchorr admin's browser. By chaining this with the GET /api/config endpoint (which returns all secrets in plaintext), an attacker can exfiltrate every credential stored in Anchorr which includes DISCORD_TOKEN, JELLYFIN_API_KEY, JELLYSEERR_API_KEY, JWT_SECRET, WEBHOOK_SECRET, and bcrypt password hashes without any authentication to Anchorr itself. This issue has been fixed in version 1.4.2.

Quill provides simple mac binary signing and notarization from any platform. Quill before version v0.7.1 contains an unbounded memory allocation vulnerability when parsing Mach-O binaries. Exploitation requires that Quill processes an attacker-supplied Mach-O binary, which is most likely in environments such as CI/CD pipelines, shared signing services, or any workflow where externally-submitted binaries are accepted for signing. When parsing a Mach-O binary, Quill reads several size and count fields from the LC_CODE_SIGNATURE load command and embedded code signing structures (SuperBlob, BlobIndex) and uses them to allocate memory buffers without validating that the values are reasonable or consistent with the actual file size. Affected fields include DataSize, DataOffset, and Size from the load command, Count from the SuperBlob header, and Length from individual blob headers. An attacker can craft a minimal (~4KB) malicious Mach-O binary with extremely large values in these fields, causing Quill to attempt to allocate excessive memory. This leads to memory exhaustion and denial of service, potentially crashing the host process. Both the Quill CLI and Go library are affected when us

Quill provides simple mac binary signing and notarization from any platform. Quill before version v0.7.1 has unbounded reads of HTTP response bodies during the Apple notarization process. Exploitation requires the ability to modify API responses from Apple's notarization service, which is not possible under standard network conditions due to HTTPS with proper TLS certificate validation; however, environments with TLS-intercepting proxies (common in corporate networks), compromised certificate authorities, or other trust boundary violations are at risk. When processing HTTP responses during notarization, Quill reads the entire response body into memory without any size limit. An attacker who can control or modify the response content can return an arbitrarily large payload, causing the Quill client to run out of memory and crash. The impact is limited to availability; there is no effect on confidentiality or integrity. Both the Quill CLI and library are affected when used to perform notarization operations. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.7.1.

Quill provides simple mac binary signing and notarization from any platform. Quill before version v0.7.1 contains a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability when attempting to fetch the Apple notarization submission logs. When retrieving submission logs, Quill fetches a URL provided in the API response without validating that the scheme is https or that the host does not point to a local or multicast IP address. An attacker who can tamper with the response can supply an arbitrary URL, causing the Quill client to issue HTTP or HTTPS requests to attacker-controlled or internal network destinations. This could lead to exfiltration of sensitive data such as cloud provider credentials or internal service responses. Both the Quill CLI and library are affected when used to retrieve notarization submission logs. This

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: gs_usb: gs_usb_receive_bulk_callback(): unanchor URL on usb_submit_urb() error In commit 7352e1d5932a ("can: gs_usb: gs_usb_receive_bulk_callback(): fix URB memory leak"), the URB was re-anchored before usb_submit_urb() in gs_usb_receive_bulk_callback() to prevent a leak of this URB during cleanup. However, this patch did not take into account that usb_submit_urb() could fail. The URB remains anchored and usb_kill_anchored_urbs(&parent->rx_submitted) in gs_can_close() loops infinitely since the anchor list never becomes empty. To fix the bug, unanchor the URB when an usb_submit_urb() error occurs, also print an info message.
