  • Oct 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: evdev - zero absinfo before partial copy in EVIOCSABS The EVIOCSABS handler copies CVE-2026-98205 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: evdev - zero absinfo before partial copy in EVIOCSABS The EVIOCSABS handler copies at most the user supplied ioctl size into an uninitialized on-stack struct input_absinfo: if (copy_from_user(&abs, p, min_t(size_t, size, sizeof(struct input_absinfo)))) The size comes from _IOC_SIZE() of the ioctl command and is therefore fully controlled by userspace. A short size leaves the trailing part of the structure holding whatever was on the kernel stack, and the whole structure is then stored into the device: dev->absinfo[t] = abs; EVIOCGABS hands that back to userspace, disclosing the stale stack bytes. Only the resolution field is currently cleared, which covers the legacy struct layout but not an arbitrarily short size. Zero the structure before the copy so any part not supplied by the caller reads back as zero. The existing resolution fixup is kept, since it also handles a size that partially overlaps that field.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: rkvdec: bound HEVC tile loops and PPS id to the array capacity compute_tiles_uniform() and compute_tiles_non_uniform() loop over num_tile_columns_minus1 + 1 / num_tile_rows_minus1 + 1 entries, and assemble_hw_pps() writes one COLUMN_WIDTH / ROW_HEIGHT register per tile and indexes priv_tbl->param_set[] by pic_parameter_set_id, all taken from the untrusted PPS. Use the bounded v4l2_hevc_pps_num_tile_columns() / v4l2_hevc_pps_num_tile_rows() helpers for the tile loops, and bail out of assemble_hw_pps() before indexing priv_tbl->param_set[] with an out-of-range pic_parameter_set_id, so the writes stay within the hardware tables.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: meson: vdec: fix NULL pointer deref in vdec_try_fmt_common When VIDIOC_TRY_FMT is called with an unsupported pixel format on the OUTPUT queue, vdec_try_fmt_common() falls back to V4L2_PIX_FMT_MPEG2. However, if a distro has locally patched MPEG2 support out (as it has been broken for some time) the platform format table does not contain MPEG2 so find_format() returns NULL and the subsequent dereference of fmt_out->max_width triggers a NULL pointer dereference. Fix this by falling back to the first format in the platform's format array instead of hardcoding V4L2_PIX_FMT_MPEG2. This is always valid since every platform defines at least one format.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath12k: fix dp_link_peer dangling references on AP vdev rollback ath12k_mac_vdev_create() for an AP vdev creates the bss self-peer via ath12k_peer_create(), which finishes by calling ath12k_dp_link_peer_assign() to publish the dp_link_peer in the dp_hw->dp_peers[peerid_index] RCU table, in the dp_peer's link_peers[] array, and in the per-addr rhashtable. If a step after ath12k_peer_create() fails the function jumps to err_peer_del, which open-codes a WMI peer_delete and waits for the unmap / delete_resp events. The wait_for_peer_delete_done() path relies on ath12k_dp_link_peer_unmap_event() freeing the dp_link_peer when the unmap arrives, but err_peer_del never calls ath12k_dp_link_peer_unassign() first. The published references in the dp_hw RCU table, dp_peer->link_peers[] and the rhashtable are left pointing at the dp_link_peer that unmap_event then frees, producing dangling pointers and use-after-free on subsequent lookups. Replace the open-coded sequence with a call to ath12k_peer_delete(), which already does ath12k_dp_link_peer_unassign() before sending the WMI command. This drops the published refer

  • Sep 16, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: rkvdec: hevc: guard INTER_REF_PIC_SET_PRED index underflow st_ref_pic_set_predictioCVE-2026-89882 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: rkvdec: hevc: guard INTER_REF_PIC_SET_PRED index underflow st_ref_pic_set_prediction() computes the reference RPS index as st_rps_idx - (delta_idx_minus1 + 1) per HEVC spec equation 7-59. Both operands are u8, so when delta_idx_minus1 + 1 exceeds the current index the subtraction wraps and the subsequent array access at calculated_rps_st_sets[ref_rps_idx] reads far out of bounds. A userspace V4L2 client that can open the RKVDEC m2m decoder can submit an EXT_SPS_ST_RPS control with INTER_REF_PIC_SET_PRED set and delta_idx_minus1 crafted to trigger the underflow. Reject the entry early when the reference index would underflow.

  • Sep 16, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vfio/pci: clear vdev->msi_perm after freeing it on init failure vfio_msi_cap_len() lazily CVE-2026-89777 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vfio/pci: clear vdev->msi_perm after freeing it on init failure vfio_msi_cap_len() lazily allocates the per-device MSI permission table: vdev->msi_perm = kmalloc_obj(struct perm_bits, GFP_KERNEL_ACCOUNT); if (!vdev->msi_perm) return -ENOMEM; ret = init_pci_cap_msi_perm(vdev->msi_perm, len, flags); if (ret) { kfree(vdev->msi_perm); return ret; /* vdev->msi_perm left dangling */ } When init_pci_cap_msi_perm() -> alloc_perm_bits() fails with -ENOMEM, the error path frees vdev->msi_perm but leaves the freed pointer stored in it. vdev->msi_perm is not re-zeroed later because struct vfio_pci_core_device is per-device and persists across open/close cycles, and the vfio_config_init() error path returns without calling vfio_config_free(). So the dangling pointer outlives the failed open. That leads to two use-after-frees on the same device: 1. Reuse. The next vfio_config_init() sees the stale pointer at "if (vdev->msi_perm) return len;" and reuses the freed object. MSI config accesses in vfio_pci_config_rw_single() then dereference and call the freed perm->readfn / perm->writefn function pointers

  • Aug 22, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: evdev - sanitize event type index when fetching event masks The user-supplied eventCVE-2026-74683 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: evdev - sanitize event type index when fetching event masks The user-supplied event type index passed to EVIOCGMASK / EVIOCSMASK ioctls is used to index the static counts array in evdev_get_mask_cnt() and client evmasks array in evdev_get_mask(). While the event type is architecturally bounded by EV_CNT, speculative execution may mispredict bounds checks and perform out-of-bounds loads. Sanitize the event type index in evdev_get_mask_cnt() branchlessly using array_index_mask_nospec(). This clamps the index to 0 for safe array access and forces the returned count to 0 speculatively when the index is out of bounds. We do not need additional array_index_nospec() calls in evdev_get_mask() because evdev_get_mask_cnt() speculatively forces the count (and resulting xfer_size) to 0 for out-of-bounds types, preventing any speculative memory access to client evmasks array.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: evdev - fix information leak in evdev_pass_values() In evdev_pass_values(), the input_event structure is allocated on the kernel stack and populated field-by-field. However, it is never fully initialized. On architectures where struct input_event contains explicit or implicit padding (such as the 32-bit __pad field on SPARC64), these padding bytes are left uninitialized. When this event structure is subsequently passed to the client buffer and later copied to userspace, the uninitialized padding bytes leak kernel stack memory, potentially exposing sensitive information. Similar issues exist in __evdev_queue_syn_dropped and __pass_event. Fix this by explicitly zeroing the entire event structure with memset() before populating its fields. This ensures all padding bytes are cleared before the data crosses the security boundary.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath12k: fix inconsistent arvif state in vdev_create error paths ath12k_mac_vdev_create() has three error path issues that leave arvif in an inconsistent state: 1. When ath12k_wmi_vdev_create() fails, the function returns directly without clearing arvif->ar, which was already set before the WMI call. Subsequent code checking arvif->ar to determine vdev readiness will see a non-NULL value despite no vdev existing in firmware. 2. When ath12k_wmi_send_peer_delete_cmd() fails in err_peer_del, the code jumped to err: skipping the DP peer cleanup and vdev rollback, leaving num_created_vdevs, vdev maps and arvif list membership live. 3. When ath12k_wait_for_peer_delete_done() fails, the code jumped to err_vdev_del: skipping the DP peer cleanup. Fix by changing the ath12k_wmi_vdev_create() failure to goto err instead of returning directly, routing both err_peer_del failure paths through err_dp_peer_del: for proper DP peer and vdev rollback, and consolidating the arvif state cleanup at err:. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: mediatek: vcodec: fix resource leaks in vdec_msg_queue_init() If we encounter any error in the vdec_msg_queue_init() then we need to set "msg_queue->wdma_addr.size = 0;". Normally, this is done inside the vdec_msg_queue_deinit() function. However, if the first call to allocate &msg_queue->wdma_addr fails, then the vdec_msg_queue_deinit() function is a no-op. For that situation, just set the size to zero explicitly and return. There were two other error paths which did not clean up before returning. Change those error paths to goto mem_alloc_err.

  • Nov 28, 2025AIS-catcher is a multi-platform AIS receiver.CVE-2025-66217 · Other software · jvde-github · reported by GitHubHigh 8.8

AIS-catcher is a multi-platform AIS receiver. Prior to version 0.64, an integer underflow vulnerability exists in the MQTT parsing logic of AIS-catcher. This vulnerability allows an attacker to trigger a massive Heap Buffer Overflow by sending a malformed MQTT packet with a manipulated Topic Length field. This leads to an immediate Denial of Service (DoS) and, when used as a library, severe Memory Corruption that can be leveraged for Remote Code Execution (RCE). This issue has been patched in version 0.64.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath12k: fix read pointer after free in ath12k_mac_assign_vif_to_vdev() In ath12k_mac_assign_vif_to_vdev(), if arvif is created on a different radio, it gets deleted from that radio through a call to ath12k_mac_unassign_link_vif(). This action frees the arvif pointer. Subsequently, there is a check involving arvif, which will result in a read-after-free scenario. Fix this by moving this check after arvif is again assigned via call to ath12k_mac_assign_link_vif(). Tested-on: QCN9274 hw2.0 PCI WLAN.WBE.1.3.1-00173-QCAHKSWPL_SILICONZ-1
