  • Oct 14, 2026Gitea creates server-side Git hook directories and scripts with mode 0777 and relies on the process umask to restrict access.CVE-2026-70402 · Other software · Gitea · reported by 88ee5874-cf24-4952-aea0-31affedb7ff2Medium 5.8

Gitea creates server-side Git hook directories and scripts with mode 0777 and relies on the process umask to restrict access. With a permissive umask such as 0000 or 0002, another local user who can reach the repository storage may modify a hook or add an executable to a writable hook directory. A later Git operation can execute that file as the Gitea service account.

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: mpt3sas: Avoid out-of-bounds cpumask_of_node() call in _base_assign_reply_queues() dCVE-2026-98088 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: mpt3sas: Avoid out-of-bounds cpumask_of_node() call in _base_assign_reply_queues() dev_to_node() can return NUMA_NO_NODE (-1) on systems without NUMA topology information for the PCI device, such as single-socket boards that don't expose device-to-node affinity. Passing -1 directly into cpumask_of_node() indexes node_to_cpumask_map[-1], an out-of-bounds array read caught by UBSAN: UBSAN: array-index-out-of-bounds in arch/x86/include/asm/topology.h:72:28 index -1 is out of range for type 'cpumask *[1024]' Fall back to cpu_online_mask when no NUMA node is available, rather than assuming dev_to_node() always returns a valid node index.

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cpufreq: zero-initialize policy cpumask before sysfs publication cpufreq_policy_alloc() alCVE-2026-97905 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cpufreq: zero-initialize policy cpumask before sysfs publication cpufreq_policy_alloc() allocates policy->cpus with alloc_cpumask_var(), i.e. without __GFP_ZERO, unlike the sibling related_cpus and real_cpus masks. With CONFIG_CPUMASK_OFFSTACK=y the mask is a separate kmalloc_node() allocation, so its bitmap holds whatever the slab allocator left behind: cpufreq_online() cpufreq_policy_alloc() alloc_cpumask_var(&policy->cpus) /* bitmap is uninitialized */ kobject_init_and_add() /* policy%u/ appears in sysfs */ cpufreq_policy_online() cpumask_copy(policy->cpus, cpumask_of(cpu)) /* first valid value */ This leaves a window in which the sysfs attributes are already reachable while policy->cpus is still garbage. show()/store() gate on policy_is_inactive(), i.e. cpumask_empty(policy->cpus), so a non-zero bitmap makes them run the attribute callbacks on a policy that is not initialized yet. Fix this by using zalloc_cpumask_var() for policy->cpus.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Require a BPF cpumask for bpf_cpumask_populate() bpf_cpumask_populate() writes to its destination with bitmap_copy(), but the destination is typed as struct cpumask *. That allows the verifier to accept borrowed cpumask pointers returned by read-only kfuncs, such as scx_bpf_get_online_cpumask(), as a writable destination. Make the destination a struct bpf_cpumask * so populate follows the same ownership rule as the other mutating cpumask kfuncs. Query kfuncs continue to accept const struct cpumask * inputs.

  • Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mips: sched: Fix CPUMASK_OFFSTACK memory corruption This patch addresses a critical memoryCVE-2026-72181 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mips: sched: Fix CPUMASK_OFFSTACK memory corruption This patch addresses a critical memory management flaw. When CONFIG_CPUMASK_OFFSTACK is enabled, cpumask_var_t is a pointer. Consequently, sizeof(new_mask) evaluates to the pointer size, causing copy_from_user() to clobber the mask pointer. Furthermore, the old logic performed copy_from_user() before allocating the mask. Fix this by allocating new_mask first. To handle variable-sized user masks correctly, use cpumask_size() to truncate overly large user masks or pad undersized masks with zeros before copying the data directly into the allocated buffer.

Overly permissive file permissions in AWS CLI before 1.44.78 (v1) and 2.34.29 (v2) on Unix-like systems where the umask has not been configured to restrict file permissions (the default on most systems) may allow other local users on the same host to read credentials written by certain CLI subcommands (aws codeartifact login, aws iam create-virtual-mfa-device, aws deploy register). To remediate this issue, users should upgrade to AWS CLI 1.44.78 (v1) or 2.34.29 (v2) or later.

The mkdir utility in uutils coreutils incorrectly applies permissions when using the -m flag by creating a directory with umask-derived permissions (typically 0755) before subsequently changing them to the requested mode via a separate chmod system call. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cgroup/cpuset: Fix wrong check in update_parent_subparts_cpumask() It was found that the check to see if a partition could use up all the cpus from the parent cpuset in update_parent_subparts_cpumask() was incorrect. As a result, it is possible to leave parent with no effective cpu left even if there are tasks in the parent cpuset. This can lead to system panic as reported in [1]. Fix this probem by updating the check to fail the enabling the partition if parent's effective_cpus is a subset of the child's cpus_allowed. Also record the error code when an error happens in update_prstate() and add a test case where parent partition and child have the same cpu list and parent has task. Enabling partition in the child will fail in this case. [1] https://www.spinics.net/lists/cgroups/msg36254.html
