  • Oct 2, 2026Trivy before 0.71.0 allows directory traversal in Terraform filesystem functions when they try to access pathnames above the scan root.CVE-2026-104994 · Other software · aquasec · reported by MITRELow 2.5

Trivy before 0.71.0 allows directory traversal in Terraform filesystem functions when they try to access pathnames above the scan root. The risk occurs when using misconf scanning on untrusted input (e.g., upon a third-party pull request that contains a Terraform configuration), if sensitive data can be found at those unintended pathnames, and an adversary can then view a sensitive data value within scan output.

  • Aug 18, 2026Trivy is a security scanner.CVE-2026-63328 · Other software · aquasecurity · reported by GitHubMedium 6.8

Trivy is a security scanner. Prior to 0.72.0, plugin manifest metadata is used by pkg/plugin/manager.go to construct paths under ~/.trivy/plugins without confining plugin names to that root, allowing an attacker who persuades a user to install or run a malicious plugin to write the manifest and plugin binary to arbitrary user-writable paths, while plugins from the official Trivy plugin index are not affected. This issue is fixed in version 0.72.0.

  • Jun 25, 2026Trivy is a security scanner.CVE-2026-55092 · Other software · aquasecurity · reported by GitHubHigh 7

Trivy is a security scanner. Prior to 0.71.1, when Trivy downloads an OCI artifact, it uses the org.opencontainers.image.title annotation from the artifact manifest as the destination filename without validation. An attacker who can make Trivy fetch an attacker-controlled artifact can supply a crafted annotation that resolves to a path outside the intended destination, causing Trivy to write the layer content to an arbitrary location on the host filesystem. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.71.1.

  • Jun 25, 2026Trivy is a security scanner.CVE-2026-54448 · Other software · aquasecurity · reported by GitHubMedium 6.9

Trivy is a security scanner. Prior to 0.71.0, when Trivy scans a Helm chart archive (.tgz), its custom tar unpacker reads each entry with io.ReadAll(tr) and no size limit. An attacker who can place a malicious .tgz file in the scanned path can craft a small compressed archive that decompresses to gigabytes, causing the Trivy process to be killed by the OS OOM killer. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.71.0.

Trivy Vulnerability Scanner is a VS Code extension that helps find vulnerabilities. In Trivy VSCode Extension version 1.8.12, which was distributed via OpenVSX marketplace was compromised and contained malicious code designed to leverage local AI coding agent to collect and exfiltrate sensitive information. • Feb 19, 2026Trivy Action runs Trivy as GitHub action to scan a Docker container image for vulnerabilities.CVE-2026-26189 · Other software · aquasecurity · reported by GitHubMedium 5.9

Trivy Action runs Trivy as GitHub action to scan a Docker container image for vulnerabilities. A command injection vulnerability exists in `aquasecurity/trivy-action` versions 0.31.0 through 0.33.1 due to improper handling of action inputs when exporting environment variables. The action writes `export VAR=<input>` lines to `trivy_envs.txt` based on user-supplied inputs and subsequently sources this file in `entrypoint.sh`. Because input values are written without appropriate shell escaping, attacker-controlled input containing shell metacharacters (e.g., `$(...)`, backticks, or other command substitution syntax) may be evaluated during the sourcing process. This can result in arbitrary command execution within the GitHub Actions runner context. Version 0.34.0 contains a patch for this issue. The vulnerability is exploitable when a consuming workflow passes attacker-controlled data into any action input that is written to `trivy_envs.txt`. Access to user input is required by the malicious actor. Workflows that do not pass attacker-controlled data into `trivy-action` inputs, workflows that upgrade to a patched version that properly escapes shell values or eliminates the `source ./tr

  • May 20, 2024Trivy is a security scanner.CVE-2024-35192 · Other software · aquasecurity · reported by GitHubMedium 5.5

Trivy is a security scanner. Prior to 0.51.2, if a malicious actor is able to trigger Trivy to scan container images from a crafted malicious registry, it could result in the leakage of credentials for legitimate registries such as AWS Elastic Container Registry (ECR), Google Cloud Artifact/Container Registry, or Azure Container Registry (ACR). These tokens can then be used to push/pull images from those registries to which the identity/user running Trivy has access. Systems are not affected if the default credential provider chain is unable to obtain valid credentials. This vulnerability only applies when scanning container images directly from a registry. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.51.2.

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
