In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: SOF: ipc4-topology: Fix shift-out-of-bounds for aggregated ALH capture When ch_count is smaller than blob->alh_cfg.device_count (e.g. a mono capture stream, such as a SmartMic, aggregated across multiple SDW links), step = ch_count / blob->alh_cfg.device_count truncates to 0. The subsequent GENMASK(step - 1, 0) then underflows step - 1 (u32) to UINT_MAX, causing GENMASK()'s internal shift to use an out-of-bounds exponent: UBSAN: shift-out-of-bounds in sound/soc/sof/ipc4-topology.c:2363:13 shift exponent 18446744069414584384 is too large for 64-bit type 'long unsigned int' Treat ch_count < device_count the same way as the existing "channels equal to output reference channels" case: apply the same ch_mask to every aggregated device instead of trying to split channels that can't be evenly divided.

Network-AI 5.0.0 before 5.15.2 contains a cross-site WebSocket hijacking vulnerability in DashboardServer that allows remote attackers to read live agent topology because handleUpgrade performs no Origin or token validation. Attackers can lure a victim running the dashboard to a malicious page that opens a WebSocket to the loopback dashboard and exfiltrates agent IDs, roles, task descriptions, and token budgets.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: octeontx2-pf: reset HTB scheduler topology before freeing queues HTB offload programs NIX_AF_TLxX_TOPOLOGY on QoS-allocated scheduler queues via otx2_qos_txschq_set_parent_topology(), but teardown freed those queues without clearing TOPOLOGY. The AF only restores PARENT and SCHEDULE on free, so PRIO_ANCHOR/RR_PRIO settings can survive in the shared scheduler pool and affect later allocations. Add otx2_qos_reset_schq_topology() and otx2_qos_free_hw_schq() to zero TL4 through TL2 TOPOLOGY before each schq is returned to the AF during hierarchy teardown and cfg rollback. Skip the aggregation level (TL1): it is a per-tx-link queue shared by the PF, default Tx hierarchy and VFs, and is not freed back to the AF by nix_txschq_free_one().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: greybus: audio: bound the topology section sizes against the fetched size gb_audio_gb_get_topology() fetches a topology blob of a module-supplied size, and gbaudio_tplg_parse_data() then walks it by adding the module-supplied size_dais, size_controls and size_widgets fields to form the control, widget and route section offsets. Those le32 sizes are never checked against the fetched blob, so a module reporting a small topology size but large section sizes makes the offsets point past the allocation, and parsing reads out of bounds. Reject a topology whose section sizes do not fit within the fetched size before it is parsed.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: SOF: ipc4-topology: Return error for invalid number of formats When the number of input or output formats is zero, sof_ipc4_widget_setup_comp_src() and sof_ipc4_widget_setup_comp_asrc() print an error and jump to the cleanup label. At that point 'ret' is still 0, because the earlier sof_ipc4_get_audio_fmt() call succeeded, so the function returns success and the caller never finds out that the widget setup actually failed. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: SOF: validate topology volume range before allocation SOF treats the topology mixer min and max values as non-negative indices into its volume table. It stores them in signed fields, allocates max + 1 entries through an int argument, and later indexes the table with the stored range. An inverted range is invalid, while a maximum at or above INT_MAX cannot be represented safely after the increment or in the signed fields. • Sep 14, 2026Description When ZooKeeper authentication is configured, Storm deliberately retains `storm.zookeeper.topology.auth.payload` in the topology configuration, becaCVE-2026-82434 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgCritical 10

Description When ZooKeeper authentication is configured, Storm deliberately retains `storm.zookeeper.topology.auth.payload` in the topology configuration, because workers need it. Nimbus then served that configuration verbatim to any caller holding read-only topology permissions, so a user whose only grant was the ability to view a topology received its ZooKeeper credential. That credential is not read-only. The cluster state implementation uses write-capable ACLs for worker heartbeats, backpressure and error state, so a recipient can forge or remove that state for the topology concerned. It is not a write credential on assignments. The same advisory covers the submission client, which logged the generated payload at INFO on every submission that generated one, and the SASL handlers, which logged it at DEBUG. The credential therefore also reached any log aggregation or support bundle collected from the cluster. Mitigation Upgrade to 3.1.0, where the payload is removed from the configuration served to read-only callers and is no longer written to logs. Users who cannot upgrade immediately should rotate `storm.zookeeper.topology.auth.payload` for existing topologies, review ret

  • Sep 14, 2026Description Nimbus validated `topology.blobstore.map` against the calling subject at submission time only.CVE-2026-82432 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 8.1

Description Nimbus validated `topology.blobstore.map` against the calling subject at submission time only. The rebalance operation accepts configuration overrides and stripped a small set of keys from them, but never re-ran that validation, so a caller authorised to rebalance a topology could introduce a blobstore map entry naming a blob whose ACL does not grant them access. Supervisors localise whatever key the map names, placing the blob's contents into the topology's working directory. The same advisory covers `listBlobs`, which performed no authorization check and passed no subject, unlike the neighbouring `getBlobMeta` and `beginBlobDownload` operations. It therefore returned every key in the blobstore to any caller able to reach the Nimbus Thrift port, which provides the key names that make the above practical. On its own the disclosure is metadata only. Mitigation Upgrade to 3.1.0, where rebalance configuration overrides are validated exactly as submission-time configuration is, against the rebalancing caller, and where `listBlobs` applies the configured authorization. Users who cannot upgrade immediately should restrict rebalance rights to trusted principals, keeping i

  • Sep 14, 2026Description A topology's `topology.blobstore.map` lets the submitter choose a local name for each blob that the supervisor localises.CVE-2026-82427 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 7.8

Description A topology's `topology.blobstore.map` lets the submitter choose a local name for each blob that the supervisor localises. That name was used to build a path under the topology's working directory without normalisation, in both `AsyncLocalizer` and `Container.createBlobstoreLinks`, and the symlink helper force-deletes whatever already exists at the target before creating the link. A submitter could therefore use `../` segments to direct that delete-and-symlink operation at an arbitrary path, as the supervisor user, on every node the topology is scheduled onto. The consequences include recursive deletion of supervisor-owned content and planting a symlink that causes a subsequent worker launch to execute attacker-chosen code as another tenant's operating-system user, which defeats the isolation that `supervisor.run.worker.as.user` is intended to provide. Mitigation Upgrade to 3.1.0, where the resolved target must lie inside the expected root at both call sites. Users who cannot upgrade immediately should restrict topology submission to trusted principals, and may reject submissions whose `topology.blobstore.map` entries contain path separators or `..` segments before

  • Sep 14, 2026Description Nimbus accepted the `uploadedJarLocation` argument of `submitTopology` / `submitTopologyWithOpts` as a server-side path and opened it directly, witCVE-2026-82426 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgMedium 6.5

Description Nimbus accepted the `uploadedJarLocation` argument of `submitTopology` / `submitTopologyWithOpts` as a server-side path and opened it directly, without checking that it referred to a file the caller had actually uploaded. The intended flow is that a client first calls `beginFileUpload`, which returns a path inside the Nimbus inbox, and uploads the jar in chunks to that location; nothing bound submission to that flow, and the `uploaders` map populated by `beginFileUpload` was never consulted at submit time. An authenticated user with topology submission rights could therefore submit any path readable by the Nimbus daemon user as their topology jar. Nimbus copied the file into the topology's jar blob, and the blob ACL grants the submitting subject read access, so the contents could then be retrieved with the ordinary blob download RPCs. Candidate targets include the Nimbus Kerberos keytab, Thrift and UI TLS private keys, and `storm.yaml` with the ZooKeeper authentication payload. Possession of the Nimbus keytab turns an ordinary tenant into a cluster administrator. In a deployment configured as the documentation recommends, submission is available to every authenticate

Description getTopologyPageInfo merged the Nimbus daemon configuration with the topology's own configuration and returned the result without redaction in the topology_conf field of TopologyPageInfo. The Storm UI copied that value verbatim into the configuration field of GET /api/v1/topology/{id} and of the corresponding metrics endpoint. Where the cluster is configured with them, the merged map includes storm.zookeeper.auth.payload, which Storm's own documentation directs operators to keep in storm-cluster-auth.yaml under permissions that deny access from workers, together with the keystore and truststore passwords for the Thrift, Netty and ZooKeeper TLS configuration, and any plugin key whose name denotes a secret. getTopologyPageInfo is a topology read-only operation. Under SimpleACLAuthorizer a principal listed in topology.readonly.users or topology.readonly.groups could therefore read daemon credentials that the dedicated cluster configuration API, getNimbusConf, redacts and that is gated on nimbus.users instead. The sibling operations that exist to serve configuration were masked; the topology page, which merges in strictly more daemon state, was not. Mitigation

  • Sep 14, 2026Description A submitted topology carries two lists of blobstore keys, `dependency_jars` and `dependency_artifacts`, which the client fills in after uploading tCVE-2026-82441 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgCritical 9.1

Description A submitted topology carries two lists of blobstore keys, `dependency_jars` and `dependency_artifacts`, which the client fills in after uploading the corresponding blobs. Nimbus performed no validation of their contents on the submission path, yet acts on them in two places. During cleanup of a finished topology, Nimbus deletes the keys named in those lists, and the deletion is performed as the Nimbus subject, for which the blobstore short-circuits its ACL check. A submitter who listed a key belonging to another topology, such as its `-stormjar.jar`, could therefore cause that blob to be deleted when their own topology was cleaned up. Separately, on acquiring leadership a Nimbus compares the dependency keys of all active topologies against the blobstore contents and surrenders leadership if any is missing. A single key that does not exist, on a single active topology, therefore causes every Nimbus to acquire leadership, surrender it and requeue indefinitely, leaving the cluster without a leader and unable to schedule, clean up or accept submissions. Mitigation Upgrade to 3.1.0, where a submission is refused unless every entry in both lists is a dependency blob key

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf tools: Use perf_env__get_cpu_topology() in machine__resolve() machine__resolve() accesses env->cpu[al->cpu].socket_id after checking al->cpu >= 0 and env->cpu != NULL, but without validating al->cpu against env->nr_cpus_avail. Since al->cpu comes from the untrusted perf.data sample, a crafted file with a large CPU index causes an out-of-bounds heap read. Use perf_env__get_cpu_topology() which validates both NULL and bounds. Also bounds-check al->cpu before the cast to struct perf_cpu (int16_t): without this, values like 65536 silently truncate to 0, bypassing the accessor's internal check and returning CPU 0's topology.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: SOF: ipc4-topology: Refresh copier IPC payload before widget setup The ipc_config_data buffer for copier widgets is built once during ipc_prepare (called from sof_pcm_setup_connected_widgets) and cached for reuse. For host copiers this buffer contains the copier_data with gtw_cfg.node_id (host DMA ID). For DAI copiers it additionally includes a dma_config_tlv trailer with stream_id and dma_channel_id for HDA link DMA. On suspend/resume, both host and link DMA streams are released and re-allocated with potentially different stream tags. The underlying copier_data and dma_config_tlv structures are correctly updated by host_config and sdw_hda_dai_hw_params respectively. However, since the widget list (spcm->stream[].list) persists across suspend, sof_pcm_hw_params skips sof_pcm_setup_connected_widgets and ipc_prepare never runs again to rebuild ipc_config_data. The stale cached payload is then sent to firmware with boot-time DMA channel assignments, causing DMA channel conflicts that lead to firmware errors and crashes. Fix this by refreshing copier_data and dma_config_tlv portions of ipc_config_data in sof_

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: topology: Check PCM and DAI name strings before use Topology objects store several PCM and DAI names in fixed-size UAPI arrays. Other topology parser paths validate these fields with bounded strnlen() checks before using them as C strings, but the PCM and DAI paths still pass some fixed-size arrays directly to strlen(), devm_kstrdup(), DAI lookup, and diagnostic prints. A malformed topology blob with a non-NUL-terminated PCM, DAI, or stream capability name can therefore make the parser read past the end of the fixed-size field. Reject unterminated PCM and DAI name fields before consuming them as C strings.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: SOF: topology: validate vendor array size before parsing sof_parse_token_sets() reads array->size while iterating over topology private data. The loop condition only checks that some data remains, so a malformed topology with a truncated trailing vendor array can make the parser read the size field before a full vendor-array header is available. Validate that the remaining private data contains a complete snd_soc_tplg_vendor_array header before reading array->size. The declared array size check also needs to remain signed. asize is an int, but sizeof(*array) has type size_t, so comparing them directly promotes negative asize values to unsigned and lets them pass the check, as reported in the stable review thread reference below. Cast sizeof(*array) to int when validating the declared array size. This rejects negative, zero and otherwise too-small sizes before the parser dispatches to the tuple-specific code.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/dp_mst: Handle torn-down topology gracefully in drm_dp_mst_topology_queue_probe() A hotplug or link-loss event can tear down the MST topology (setting mgr->mst_state = false and mgr->mst_primary = NULL) concurrently with a caller invoking drm_dp_mst_topology_queue_probe(). Since the check is already performed under mgr->lock, the condition is not a programming error but a valid race -- the topology was valid when the caller decided to call this function, but was torn down before the lock was acquired. Replace the drm_WARN_ON() with a graceful early return. This eliminates spurious kernel warnings and the resulting compositor crashes observed when connecting/disconnecting DP MST monitors, while keeping the correct behavior of doing nothing when MST is not active. A drm_dbg_mst() trace is added so the skipped probe remains observable under MST debug logging. The existing WARN_ON(mgr->mst_primary) in drm_dp_mst_topology_mgr_set_mst() already catches the case where the topology is initialized twice, so no diagnostic coverage is lost.

Attackers can redirect all LLM operations instance-wide to an attacker-controlled endpoint by exploiting the process-wide singleton configuration cache, enabling exfiltration of prompts, uploaded documents, extracted entities, and knowledge graph content from all users.

  • Apr 13, 2026Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) via Unsanitized Topology Metadata in Apache Storm UI Versions Affected: before 2.8.6 Description: The Storm UI visualizatiCVE-2026-35565 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgMedium 5.4

Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) via Unsanitized Topology Metadata in Apache Storm UI Versions Affected: before 2.8.6 Description: The Storm UI visualization component interpolates topology metadata including component IDs, stream names, and grouping values directly into HTML via innerHTML in parseNode() and parseEdge() without sanitization at any layer. An authenticated user with topology submission rights could craft a topology containing malicious HTML/JavaScript in component identifiers (e.g., a bolt ID containing an onerror event handler). This payload flows through Nimbus → Thrift → the Visualization API → vis.js tooltip rendering, resulting in stored cross-site scripting.  In multi-tenant deployments where topology submission is available to less-trusted users but the UI is accessed by operators or administrators, this enables privilege escalation through script execution in an admin's browser session. Mitigation: 2.x users should upgrade to 2.8.6. Users who cannot upgrade immediately should monkey-patch the parseNode() and parseEdge() functions in the visualization JavaScript file to HTML-escape all API-supplied values including nodeId, :capacity, :latency, :compone

alsa-lib versions 1.2.2 up to and including 1.2.15.2, prior to commit 5f7fe33, contain a heap-based buffer overflow in the topology mixer control decoder. The tplg_decode_control_mixer1() function reads the num_channels field from untrusted .tplg data and uses it as a loop bound without validating it against the fixed-size channel array (SND_TPLG_MAX_CHAN). A crafted topology file with an excessive num_channels value can cause out-of-bounds heap writes, leading to a crash.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/dpu: Disallow unallocated resources to be returned In the event that the topology requests resources that have not been created by the system (because they are typically not represented in dpu_mdss_cfg ^1), the resource(s) in global_state (in this case DSC blocks, until their allocation/assignment is being sanity-checked in "drm/msm/dpu: Reject topologies for which no DSC blocks are available") remain NULL but will still be returned out of dpu_rm_get_assigned_resources, where the caller expects to get an array containing num_blks valid pointers (but instead gets these NULLs). To prevent this from happening, where null-pointer dereferences typically result in a hard-to-debug platform lockup, num_blks shouldn't increase past NULL blocks and will print an error and break instead. After all, max_blks represents the static size of the maximum number of blocks whereas the actual amount varies per platform. ^1: which can happen after a git rebase ended up moving additions to _dpu_cfg to a different struct which has the same patch context. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: arch_topology: Fix incorrect error check in topology_parse_cpu_capacity() Fix incorrect use of PTR_ERR_OR_ZERO() in topology_parse_cpu_capacity() which causes the code to proceed with NULL clock pointers. The current logic uses !PTR_ERR_OR_ZERO(cpu_clk) which evaluates to true for both valid pointers and NULL, leading to potential NULL pointer dereference in clk_get_rate(). Per include/linux/err.h documentation, PTR_ERR_OR_ZERO(ptr) returns: "The error code within @ptr if it is an error pointer; 0 otherwise." This means PTR_ERR_OR_ZERO() returns 0 for both valid pointers AND NULL pointers. Therefore !PTR_ERR_OR_ZERO(cpu_clk) evaluates to true (proceed) when cpu_clk is either valid or NULL, causing clk_get_rate(NULL) to be called when of_clk_get() returns NULL. Replace with !IS_ERR_OR_NULL(cpu_clk) which only proceeds for valid pointers, preventing potential NULL pointer dereference in clk_get_rate().

We could check for this NULL pointer in sof_ipc4_prepare_copier_module() and avoid the crash, but a similar loop in sof_ipc4_widget_setup_comp_dai() will miscalculate the ALH device count, causing broken audio. The correct fix is to harden the matching logic by making sure that the 1. widget is a DAI widget - so dai = w->private is valid 2. the dai (and thus the copier) is ALH copier

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: SOF: ipc3-topology: Correct get_control_data for non bytes payload It is possible to craft a topology where sof_get_control_data() would do out of bounds access because it expects that it is only called when the payload is bytes type. Confusingly it also handles other types of controls, but the payload parsing implementation is only valid for bytes. Fix the code to count the non bytes controls and instead of storing a pointer to sof_abi_hdr in sof_widget_data (which is only valid for bytes), store the pointer to the data itself and add a new member to save the size of the data. In case of non bytes controls we store the pointer to the chanv itself, which is just an array of values at the end. In case of bytes control, drop the wrong cdata->data (wdata[i].pdata) check against NULL since it is incorrect and invalid in this context. The data is pointing to the end of cdata struct, so it should never be null.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: arch/arm64: Fix topology initialization for core scheduling Arm64 systems rely on store_cpu_topology() to call update_siblings_masks() to transfer the toplogy to the various cpu masks. This needs to be done before the call to notify_cpu_starting() which tells the scheduler about each cpu found, otherwise the core scheduling data structures are setup in a way that does not match the actual topology. With smt_mask not setup correctly we bail on `cpumask_weight(smt_mask) == 1` for !leaders in: notify_cpu_starting() cpuhp_invoke_callback_range() sched_cpu_starting() sched_core_cpu_starting() which leads to rq->core not being correctly set for !leader-rq's. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/dp_mst: Fix resetting msg rx state after topology removal If the MST topology is removed during the reception of an MST down reply or MST up request sideband message, the drm_dp_mst_topology_mgr::up_req_recv/down_rep_recv states could be reset from one thread via drm_dp_mst_topology_mgr_set_mst(false), racing with the reading/parsing of the message from another thread via drm_dp_mst_handle_down_rep() or drm_dp_mst_handle_up_req(). The race is possible since the reader/parser doesn't hold any lock while accessing the reception state. This in turn can lead to a memory corruption in the reader/parser as described by commit bd2fccac61b4 ("drm/dp_mst: Fix MST sideband message body length check"). Fix the above by resetting the message reception state if needed before reading/parsing a message. Another solution would be to hold the drm_dp_mst_topology_mgr::lock for the whole duration of the message reception/parsing in drm_dp_mst_handle_down_rep() and drm_dp_mst_handle_up_req(), however this would require a bigger change. Since the fix is also needed for stable, opting for the simpler solution in this patch.
