  • Oct 28, 2026Kafka Streams derives its stream-time clock from record timestamps.CVE-2026-111496 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.org

Kafka Streams derives its stream-time clock from record timestamps. PunctuationSchedule.next() computed the next punctuation time as timestamp + (intervalsMissed + 1) * interval with no overflow check. A record with a timestamp at or near Long.MAX_VALUE advances stream time to that value, so the next stream-time punctuation overflows to a negative time. PunctuationQueue then re-queues that time and loops on it indefinitely while holding a lock, stalling the StreamThread. Impact: A single record is enough. The affected StreamThread stops processing, and because the record stays in the topic the hang returns on restart; an application whose partitions are all affected becomes unresponsive. Only the Streams application is affected, not the brokers or the cluster. Triggering it needs write access to a source topic whose topology uses stream-time punctuation, and a broker that stores the record: brokers from Apache Kafka 4.0.0 reject such a timestamp by default (log.message.timestamp.after.max.ms, one hour), so it is reachable only on older brokers or where that bound has been relaxed. Mitigation: Upgrade Kafka Streams to 4.2.2, 4.3.2, or 4.4.0. As defense in depth, keep log.messa

Cruise Control's Jetty ConstraintSecurityHandler registers security constraints on exact path specs without a catch-all wildcard constraint and without calling setDenyUncoveredHttpMethods(true). The servlet routes requests using Path.of(pathInfo).getFileName(), which strips all leading segments and trailing slashes. Requests like POST /kafkacruisecontrol/x/rebalance bypass authentication entirely but still dispatch to admin endpoints. All 15 admin endpoints become reachable without authentication. • Sep 29, 2026Issue summary: OpenSSL QUIC stack does not enforce connection level flow control for streams.CVE-2026-75804 · Websites & servers · OpenSSL · reported by openssl-security@openssl.orgMedium 5.3

Issue summary: OpenSSL QUIC stack does not enforce connection level flow control for streams. Remote peers may send more bytes as long as they fit within the stream flow control limits. Impact summary: A malicious remote peer may exploit the lack of connection flow control for streams to make the QUIC stack receive ~100MB of memory instead of 768 KiB (default flow control window size). CWE: CWE-770: Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling Description: The local QUIC stack advertises two flow control limits to its remote peer: stream flow control limit and connection flow control limit. The remote peer must follow both limits when transmitting stream data. Whenever the local QUIC stack receives a stream frame, it validates that the size of the received stream frame stays within flow control limits. If either limit is exceeded (stream level or connection level), then the QUIC stack must close the connection with a flow control error. The vulnerable OpenSSL QUIC stack enforces the stream-level but not the connection-level limit. To exploit the issue, three conditions must be met: - the remote peer opens several streams - each stream must stay within the stream-le

  • Sep 23, 2026Streamlink is a CLI utility which pipes video streams from various services into a video player.CVE-2026-92164 · Other software · streamlink · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

Streamlink is a CLI utility which pipes video streams from various services into a video player. Prior to 8.6.0, HTTPSession mounts a FileAdapter for the file scheme and inherits redirect handling from requests.Session without rejecting cross-protocol redirects. A remote server controlling an HTTP or HTTPS URL reached by Streamlink can return a redirect to a local file URL, causing HTTPSession to read the local file and return its contents to the response consumer. This bypasses the direct file URL checks added for HLS and DASH content because the manifest contains an ordinary network URL and the scheme transition occurs later during fetch handling. The flaw applies to every request made through HTTPSession, and a segment fetch can place the local file contents into stream output. This issue is fixed in version 8.6.0.

  • Sep 16, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: ti: vpe: quiesce overflow recovery before freeing streams The VIP overflow recoveryCVE-2026-89875 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: ti: vpe: quiesce overflow recovery before freeing streams The VIP overflow recovery worker is armed from the hardirq handler when a FIFO overflow is detected, and the list-complete path looks the stream up through the VPDMA list private pointer. Both keep touching stream, port and device state; the recovery worker also resets the parser and VPDMA, repopulates the descriptor list, and re-enables the per-list IRQs. vip_stop_streaming() masks and clears the per-list IRQs, but it neither synchronizes the hardirq handler nor disables recovery_work. An overflow IRQ that has already queued recovery_work, or a list-complete IRQ in flight when the stream is torn down, can therefore still dereference the stream after its resources are released: the descriptor list is freed by vip_release_stream() on file release, and the stream itself by free_stream() on unbind/remove. Drain the recovery worker and the IRQ handler at both teardown points through a shared vip_quiesce_stream() helper, before any stream-owned resource is released. disable_work_sync() cancels pending recovery_work, drains a running instance, and raise

  • Sep 7, 2026Protocol::HTTP2 versions before 1.14 for Perl allow memory exhaustion via closed streams that stream_state never removes from the connection stream table.CVE-2026-16028 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eHigh 7.5

Protocol::HTTP2 versions before 1.14 for Perl allow memory exhaustion via closed streams that stream_state never removes from the connection stream table. When a stream reaches the CLOSED state, stream_state returns the concurrency slot and clears most of the stream's keys, but the entry itself stays in the connection stream table and nothing in the distribution removes it. Stream identifiers increase monotonically, so a peer can open and close streams on one connection indefinitely, each close leaving a residual entry that is retained for the life of the connection. SETTINGS_MAX_CONCURRENT_STREAMS does not bound this. That setting caps how many streams are live at once and is enforced, while the growth is made of streams the cap has already released, so it accumulates with concurrency never exceeding one. The client keeps the same table and grows the same way against a hostile server. Measured against a server built on this module, roughly 920 bytes are retained per closed stream for about 19 bytes on the wire, so 100,000 sequential streams on one connection grow server resident memory by about 88 MiB. The streams are ordinary requests that the application accepts and completes

AVideo (current commit e01e41ecc and earlier) exposes stream credentials through the plugin/Live/view/Live_restreams/getLiveKey.json.php endpoint. Supplying a 'token' request parameter waives both the Live::canRestream() access gate and the restream ownership check, causing the endpoint to return any restream's stream_key and stream_url (credentials for external platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch) without authentication. The token is merely encryptString() of an integer id with no user binding, expiry, or authentication tag. Because encryption uses AES-256-CBC with a deterministic IV and no MAC, and because intval() accepts any string beginning with a digit, an unauthenticated attacker can forge valid tokens using the public encryption oracle in view/url2Embed.json.php, disclosing arbitrary users' stream credentials.

An authorization bypass vulnerability in Vulnerability-Lookup allowed inactive or unconfirmed accounts to subscribe to Server-Sent Events (SSE) streams through the /pubsub/subscribe/<topic> endpoint. The token_required decorator used by the Pub/Sub interface authenticated requests solely by matching the X-API-KEY header against an existing user API key. Unlike the REST API authentication mechanism, it did not verify the account's is_active and is_confirmed state. Because the self-registration process issues an API key before account confirmation is completed, an attacker could create an account and immediately use the resulting API key to access Pub/Sub topics that should only be available to active, confirmed users. This could expose stream events that would otherwise be inaccessible through the REST API, including newly submitted or not-yet-moderated data such as comments. The vulnerability results from inconsistent authorization enforcement between the REST API and the SSE streaming interface. The patch corrects the issue by requiring accounts to be both active and confirmed before permitting access to Pub/Sub streams, bringing the SSE authorization boundary in line with

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: mali-c55: Fix possible ERR_PTR in enable_streams The media_pad_remote_pad_unique() function returns either a valid pointer or an ERR_PTR() on failure (-ENOTUNIQ if multiple links are enabled, -ENOLINK if no connected pad is found). The return value was assigned directly to isp->remote_src and dereferenced in the next line without checking for errors, which could lead to an ERR_PTR dereference. Add proper error checking with IS_ERR() before dereferencing the pointer. Also set isp->remote_src to NULL on error to maintain consistency with other error paths in the function.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: xhci: Fix sleep in atomic context in xhci_free_streams() When a USB device with active stream endpoints is disconnected, xhci_free_streams() is called from the hub_event workqueue to free the stream resources. In NLnet Labs Unbound 1.22.0 up to and including 1.25.1, when downstream DNS-over-QUIC (DoQ) is enabled, the first two bidirectional streams on a new QUIC connection (stream_id 0 and 4) bypass the per-stream 'quic-size' gate entirely, and large input buffers are allocated later, after only the 2-byte length prefix has been received from the initial streams. As a result, a remote client can make Unbound exceed the configured 'quic-size' limit with low-cost input. Using only one connection and two streams, each sending a declared 65535-byte length prefix and then holding the streams open, a client can already trivially make Unbound roughly allocate double that amount. This is a remote availability issue / memory-accounting bypass in the downstream DoQ implementation that leads to denial of service for new DoQ clients. This vulnerability needs Unbound to be compiled with DoQ support ('--with-libngtcp2') and the 'quic-port' to be configured for the listening interfaces.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: PCM: Fix wait queue list corruption in snd_pcm_drain() on linked streams snd_pcm_drain() uses init_waitqueue_entry which does not clear entry.prev/next, and add_wait_queue with a conditional remove_wait_queue that is skipped when to_check is no longer in the group after concurrent UNLINK. The orphaned wait entry remains on the unlinked substream sleep queue. On the next drain iteration, add_wait_queue adds the entry to a new queue while still linked on the old one, corrupting both lists. A subsequent wake_up dereferences NULL at the func pointer (mapped from the spinlock at offset 0 of the misinterpreted wait_queue_head_t), causing a kernel panic. Replace init_waitqueue_entry/add_wait_queue/conditional remove_wait_queue with init_wait_entry/prepare_to_wait/ finish_wait. init_wait_entry clears prev/next via INIT_LIST_HEAD on each iteration and sets autoremove_wake_function which auto-removes the entry on wake-up. finish_wait safely handles both the already-removed and still-queued cases.

  • Jun 24, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sctp: stream: fully roll back denied add-stream state When ADD_OUT_STREAMS is denied, SCTPCVE-2026-52929 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sctp: stream: fully roll back denied add-stream state When ADD_OUT_STREAMS is denied, SCTP only shrinks the queued chunks and then lowers outcnt. That leaves removed stream metadata behind, so a later re-add can reuse a stale ext and hit a null-pointer dereference in the scheduler get path. Fix the rollback by tearing down the removed stream state the same way other stream resizes do. Unschedule the current scheduler state, drop the removed stream ext state with sctp_stream_outq_migrate(), and then reschedule the remaining streams. This keeps scheduler-private RR/FC/PRIO lists consistent while fully rolling back denied outgoing stream additions.

  • Jun 12, 2026form-data is a library for creating readable multipart/form-data streams.CVE-2026-12143 · Other software · form-data · reported by 7ffcee3d-2c14-4c3e-b844-86c6a321a158High 8.7

form-data is a library for creating readable multipart/form-data streams. In versions through 4.0.5, the `field` argument to `FormData#append` and the `filename` option are concatenated verbatim into the `Content-Disposition` header without escaping carriage return (CR), line feed (LF), or double-quote (") characters. An application that passes attacker-controlled data as a field name or filename (for example, an API gateway that turns JSON object keys into multipart field names) allows the attacker to terminate the header line and inject additional headers, or to smuggle entire additional multipart parts, into the request the application forwards to a backend. This can let the attacker add or override form fields (e.g. set `is_admin=true`) seen by the downstream parser. This is an instance of CWE-93 (CRLF injection). The fix escapes CR, LF, and `"` as `%0D`, `%0A`, and `%22` in field names and filenames, matching the serialization browsers use per the WHATWG HTML multipart/form-data encoding algorithm. Exploitation requires the consuming application to use untrusted input as a field name or filename; applications that use only fixed/trusted field names are not affected. Fixed in 2
