Oct 16, 2026Wheels through 4.1.2 allows SQL injection on MySQL/MariaDB with backslash escaping enabled (NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES absent) when an application supplies request daCVE-2026-111444 · Other software · Wheels · reported by MITRECritical 9.8
Wheels through 4.1.2 allows SQL injection on MySQL/MariaDB with backslash escaping enabled (NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES absent) when an application supplies request data to inline-literal paths. These include opt-in parameterize=false queries and IN lists, and positions in developer-written where strings that the parser does not bind, such as BETWEEN bounds, function arguments and LIKE ESCAPE literals. Doubling single quotes without accounting for backslash escapes allows a value to alter the query. Bound paths are not affected; whereBetween() is bound from 4.1.2. This is fixed in 4.2.0.

Oct 5, 2026Use of the backend-facing $scheme variable in the trailing-slash directory redirect in nginx.conf of Chainguard Academy (edu) from commit 0b75ff98057f69b044a3e7CVE-2026-105766 · Other software · Chainguard · reported by 82cea9a6-e9e3-46fe-bdb0-3673de380178Low 2.3
Use of the backend-facing $scheme variable in the trailing-slash directory redirect in nginx.conf of Chainguard Academy (edu) from commit 0b75ff98057f69b044a3e7194e428066ac5ad0d4 before commit 93dc0e50739c225f5aee2e803800a47fc0feb906 allows an on-path network attacker to read or modify documentation content served to a victim via an HTTPS request for a slashless directory path, because TLS terminates at the load balancer in front of Nginx and the resulting 301 response redirects the client to a plaintext http:// URL. Browsers that ship the HSTS preload list are not affected, because the .dev top-level domain is preloaded; clients that do not enforce HSTS, such as command-line HTTP clients and scripts that follow redirects, are affected.

Sep 3, 2026@fastify/http-proxy versions before 11.6.2 do not validate proxied HTTP request paths for backslash based dot-segments before forwarding them to the configured CVE-2026-85124 · Other software · @fastify/http-proxy · reported by ce714d77-add3-4f53-aff5-83d477b104bbHigh 7.5
@fastify/http-proxy versions before 11.6.2 do not validate proxied HTTP request paths for backslash based dot-segments before forwarding them to the configured upstream. The plain HTTP request handler skips the destination validation that the WebSocket path performs, and the underlying reply-from library only rejects forward-slash traversal, so a request containing backslash dot-segments can escape the boundary set by the prefix and rewritePrefix options. An unauthenticated network attacker can use this to reach upstream paths that were meant to stay hidden behind the proxy, resulting in disclosure of internal endpoints. This is a path traversal issue (CWE-22). Users should upgrade to @fastify/http-proxy 11.6.2 or later.

Aug 19, 2026Punk::OAuth2 versions before 0.03 for Perl allow an attacker-chosen off-site redirect after login because same_origin_path accepts a backslash or tab in the retCVE-2026-75628 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eMedium 5.7
Punk::OAuth2 versions before 0.03 for Perl allow an attacker-chosen off-site redirect after login because same_origin_path accepts a backslash or tab in the return parameter. oauth2_login reads the return parameter from the initiation request, runs same_origin_path over it, and stores the survivor in the session flow record as the post-login redirect target. That check rejects a value that does not begin with a slash, one with a slash as its second byte, and one containing CR or LF. A backslash and a tab pass. The URL Standard treats a backslash as equivalent to a slash for special schemes, so `/\evil.example` parses with the authority `evil.example`. It also strips ASCII tab before parsing, so a tab between two leading slashes leaves `//evil.example`. A crafted link to the application's own login route lands the victim on the attacker's site after a genuine authentication. The redirect carries no authorization code or access token.

Aug 10, 2026Vault’s ACL policy engine did not consistently enforce a wildcard (glob) deny rule against LIST requests made with a trailing slash on the denied path.CVE-2026-12624 · Other software · HashiCorp · reported by security@hashicorp.comMedium 4.3
Vault’s ACL policy engine did not consistently enforce a wildcard (glob) deny rule against LIST requests made with a trailing slash on the denied path. fast-uri before 4.1.2, 3.1.5, and 2.4.4 requires a literal double forward slash to recognize a URI authority, so a reference that uses a backslash based introducer in place of it (backslash backslash, forward slash backslash, or backslash forward slash) is parsed with no authority and folds into the path. Node's native WHATWG URL parser instead treats a backslash as interchangeable with a forward slash for special schemes, so the two parsers extract different hosts from the same input. Applications that use fast-uri to enforce host based policy such as allowlists, SSRF filtering, or redirect validation before passing the same URL into Node's URL or fetch consumers can be steered to an unintended host. Upgrade to fast-uri 4.1.2, 3.1.5, or 2.4.4.

A Path Traversal vulnerability exists in Quick.CMS through the URI path component of HTTP requests, where the server fails to normalize dot-dot-slash (../) sequences before resolving and serving the requested file. An authenticated attacker with admin privileges can use this vulnerability to read contents of files located in the sibling directory of the webroot via a crafted HTTP request containing ../ sequences in the URI. Impact: fast-uri versions from 2.3.1 through 4.1.0 (including the 3.x line up to 3.1.3 and the 2.x line up to 2.4.2) do not treat a literal backslash character (U+005C) as an authority delimiter. Node's native WHATWG URL parser, used by fetch, undici, and Node's http and https clients, normalizes the backslash to a forward slash for special schemes such as http, https, ws, wss, ftp, and file. As a result, the two parsers extract different hosts from the same input string. Applications that use fast-uri to enforce host-based policy such as allowlists, denylists, loopback or SSRF filtering, redirect validation, or outbound proxy routing before passing the same URL into Node's URL or fetch consumers can be steered to an unintended destination, including cloud metadata endpoints, loopback, or internal hosts. Jul 1, 2026@fastify/middie versions 9.1.0 through 9.3.2 decode the encoded slash %2F inside path parameter values before matching middleware paths, while Fastify's underlyCVE-2026-14198 · Other software · @fastify/middie · reported by ce714d77-add3-4f53-aff5-83d477b104bbCritical 9.1
@fastify/middie versions 9.1.0 through 9.3.2 decode the encoded slash %2F inside path parameter values before matching middleware paths, while Fastify's underlying router preserves the encoding during route lookup. The two layers disagree on the canonical request path, so the middleware fails to match a URL that the route handler does match. When middleware is used for authentication, authorization, rate limiting, or auditing on parameterized paths, an attacker can reach the protected handler by sending a single crafted URL with an encoded slash in the parameter position. The bypass is HTTP method agnostic and requires no authentication or special preconditions. Patches: upgrade to @fastify/middie 9.3.3. Workarounds: avoid parameterized middleware paths for security decisions, or enforce authentication at the route handler or via a Fastify hook that runs after the router has resolved the request.

Jun 29, 2026JavaScript::Minifier::XS versions before 0.16 for Perl crash with a NULL pointer dereference when the first meaningful token of the input is a slash.CVE-2026-56017 · Other software · GTERMARS · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eHigh 7.5
JavaScript::Minifier::XS versions before 0.16 for Perl crash with a NULL pointer dereference when the first meaningful token of the input is a slash. The regexp versus division disambiguator in JsTokenizeString (XS.xs) inspects the previous token's last byte to choose between a regexp literal and a division operator. When a slash is the first meaningful token, with the start of input or only whitespace and comments before it, there is no valid preceding token: the walk back over whitespace and comment nodes runs off the head of the node list to NULL, and the byte lookup reads through a NULL contents pointer at an underflowed length index. The following identifier check dereferences the same NULL pointer. The crash is reachable through the public minify() API, so input as small as a single slash byte crashes the calling process. A service that minifies untrusted or third-party JavaScript can be crashed by a remote request, causing denial of service.

Mar 27, 2026When dovecot has been configured to use per-domain passwd files, and they are placed one path component above /etc, or slash has been added to allowed characterCVE-2026-0394 · Other software · Open-Xchange GmbH · reported by security@open-xchange.comMedium 5.3
When dovecot has been configured to use per-domain passwd files, and they are placed one path component above /etc, or slash has been added to allowed characters, path traversal can happen if the domain component is directory partial. This allows inadvertently reading /etc/passwd (or some other path which ends with passwd). If this file contains passwords, it can be used to authenticate wrongly, or if this is userdb, it can unexpectly make system users appear valid users. Upgrade to fixed version, or use different authentication scheme that does not rely on paths. Alternatively you can also ensure that the per-domain passwd files are in some other location, such as /etc/dovecot/auth/%d. No publicly available exploits are known.

Sep 15, 2025backlash parses collected strings with escapes.CVE-2025-59140 · Other software · Qix- · reported by GitHubHigh 8.8
backlash parses collected strings with escapes. On 8 September 2025, the npm publishing account for backslash was taken over after a phishing attack. Version 0.2.1 was published, functionally identical to the previous patch version, but with a malware payload added attempting to redirect cryptocurrency transactions to the attacker's own addresses from within browser environments. Local environments, server environments, command line applications, etc. are not affected. If the package was used in a browser context (e.g. a direct <script> inclusion, or via a bundling tool such as Babel, Rollup, Vite, Next.js, etc.) there is a chance the malware still exists and such bundles will need to be rebuilt. The malware seemingly only targets cryptocurrency transactions and wallets such as MetaMask. npm removed the offending package from the registry over the course of the day on 8 September, preventing further downloads from npm proper. On 13 September, the package owner published new patch versions to help cache-bust those using private registries who might still have the compromised version cached. Users should upgrade to the latest patch version, completely remove their node_modules direct

Oct 17, 2023In dotCMS, versions mentioned, a flaw in the NormalizationFilter does not strip double slashes (//) from URLs, potentially enabling bypasses for XSS and access CVE-2023-3042 · Other software · dotCMS · reported by security@dotcms.comMedium 5.3
In dotCMS, versions mentioned, a flaw in the NormalizationFilter does not strip double slashes (//) from URLs, potentially enabling bypasses for XSS and access controls. An example affected URL is https://demo.dotcms.com//html/portlet/ext/files/edit_text_inc.jsp , which should return a 404 response but didn't. The oversight in the default invalid URL character list can be viewed at the provided GitHub link https://github.com/dotCMS/core/blob/master/dotCMS/src/main/java/com/dotcms/filters/NormalizationFilter.java#L37 . To mitigate, users can block URLs with double slashes at firewalls or utilize dotCMS config variables. Specifically, they can use the DOT_URI_NORMALIZATION_FORBIDDEN_STRINGS environmental variable to add // to the list of invalid strings. Additionally, the DOT_URI_NORMALIZATION_FORBIDDEN_REGEX variable offers more detailed control, for instance, to block //html.* URLs. Fix Version:23.06+, LTS 22.03.7+, LTS 23.01.4+

Oct 27, 2022The implementation of backslash parsing in the Dart URI class for versions prior to 2.18 and Flutter versions prior to 3.30 differs from the WhatWG URL standardCVE-2022-3095 · Computers, phones & browsers · Google LLC · reported by cve-coordination@google.comCritical 9.8
The implementation of backslash parsing in the Dart URI class for versions prior to 2.18 and Flutter versions prior to 3.30 differs from the WhatWG URL standards. Dart uses the RFC 3986 syntax, which creates incompatibilities with the '\' characters in URIs, which can lead to auth bypass in webapps interpreting URIs. We recommend updating Dart or Flutter to mitigate the issue.
