Several Kafka deserialization paths read a size or count field from input data and use it directly to allocate an array, collection, or byte buffer, with no check against the bytes actually available. A small crafted input can therefore declare a very large size and force a multi-gigabyte allocation. The affected paths are, in Kafka Streams, ProcessorRecordContext (header count), ChangedDeserializer (varint value length), CombinedKeySchema (foreign-key length, which could also produce a negative size), ProcessorMetadata (key length), and AssignmentInfo group-assignment decoding; and, in the clients library, ListDeserializer (used by ListSerde). Impact: An attacker can trigger the oversized allocation and raise an OutOfMemoryError that crashes the affected consumer or Kafka Streams thread; the broker and the rest of the cluster are unaffected. The reachable surface depends on the path: writing a crafted record to a Streams application's internal changelog or repartition topics, or committing crafted offset metadata to its consumer group (Streams internal paths); writing a crafted record to any topic that a consumer reads with ListSerde (ListDeserializer); or, as a member of a Str

  • Oct 26, 2026An insecure deserialization (PHP object injection) vulnerability exists in Mautic's handling of segment filters and custom field properties.CVE-2026-115190 · Other software · reported by security@mautic.orgHigh 8

An insecure deserialization (PHP object injection) vulnerability exists in Mautic's handling of segment filters and custom field properties. Several code paths that read these stored values from the database deserialize them without restricting which PHP classes may be instantiated, instead of using Mautic's safe deserialization helper. An attacker who is able to store a crafted serialized value in these segment filter or custom field properties can cause arbitrary PHP objects to be instantiated when Mautic later processes the data, for example during segment evaluation, contact export, or custom field API requests. Combined with gadget chains available in Mautic's dependencies, this could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the server, read, modify, or delete data stored in the Mautic instance, including contact data, and affect its availability. Exploitation requires high privileges or an existing ability to write to the affected stored data.

Hugging Face Datasets through 5.1.0 contains an insecure deserialization vulnerability that allows attackers to execute arbitrary Python code by crafting a malicious pickle file loaded through the deprecated pandas packaged builder. Attackers can supply a pickle-backed dataset that is processed by Pandas._generate_tables via pandas.read_pickle() without validation, so when a victim calls datasets.load_dataset("pandas", data_files=...), the embedded __reduce__ payload executes code with the victim process's privileges.

A memory-handling weakness in the BSON deserialization component of the MongoDB C# Driver may cause data left over from previously processed content to be returned when specially crafted serialized input is parsed. An unauthenticated party able to supply serialized data to an application that maps certain primitive collection types can cause residual bytes from unrelated data processed earlier on the same execution thread to be surfaced as legitimate values. This can result in disclosure of a limited amount of information belonging to other requests or principals of the consuming application. A data-validation flaw exists in the BSON handling and binary serialization path of the MongoDB C# Driver. When an application constructs a raw or lazy BSON document object from externally supplied binary data, the driver does not verify that the size quantity declared inside that data matches the amount of data actually provided, and it copies the data onto the wire unchanged. An unauthenticated party who can supply binary content to such an application can thereby cause additional elements to be inserted into, or existing elements to be removed from, the database command the application issues, without needing any database credentials of their own. This can result in unauthorized modification of stored data and disclosure of data outside the intended scope of the application's request, bounded by the database privileges the application itself holds.

The MongoDB C# Driver's BSON library contains an uncontrolled resource consumption weakness in its deserialization handling of one BSON value type. An application that deserializes untrusted content with the library retains data derived from that content for the lifetime of the process, with no limit on how much accumulates. An unauthenticated remote party who can cause such content to be deserialized can drive unbounded memory growth, exhausting the host application's available memory and denying service. There is no impact to confidentiality or integrity, and no MongoDB server component is affected.

  • Oct 22, 2026Out-of-bounds read and write in the Count-Min sketch deserialization of Apache DataSketches C++ (repo: datasketches-cpp).CVE-2026-103634 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgMedium 5.3

Out-of-bounds read and write in the Count-Min sketch deserialization of Apache DataSketches C++ (repo: datasketches-cpp). count_min_sketch::deserialize() did not include the preamble in its input size check, so a truncated sketch could cause a read of up to 16 bytes past the end of the input. In addition, the table size was computed from the serialized number of buckets and number of hash functions in 32-bit arithmetic. A crafted sketch could make it wrap to zero, so that the sketch deserialized with an empty table, and later updates and estimate queries read and wrote outside the heap allocation. This can corrupt heap memory, causing a crash and potentially enabling further exploitation. This issue affects Apache DataSketches C++: from 4.1.0 before 5.3.0. Only applications that deserialize Count-Min sketches from untrusted sources are affected. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 5.3.0, which fixes this issue.

  • Oct 20, 2026An authenticated HTTPS origin can supply an HSTS `max-age` value that the parser accepts, but time serialization later fails to process.CVE-2026-87863 · Other software · curl · reported by 2499f714-1537-4658-8207-48ae4bb9eae9

An authenticated HTTPS origin can supply an HSTS `max-age` value that the parser accepts, but time serialization later fails to process. On 64-bit systems, extreme max-age values compute an absolute expiry within standard time integer limits that exceeds calendar time structure bounds. During cache saves, the original HSTS file is truncated before writing a temporary replacement; when serialization fails, the temporary file is deleted, leaving an empty or partial cache. Because the save error is silently ignored during cleanup, curl exits successfully despite the data loss.

  • Oct 19, 2026Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability in Apache Camel Camel-Jgroups component.CVE-2026-88900 · Email & office · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 8.8

Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability in Apache Camel Camel-Jgroups component. This issue affects Apache Camel: from 4.0.0 before 4.18.5, from 4.19.0 before 4.22.1. JGroupsEndpoint.createExchange(Message), which CamelJGroupsReceiver calls for every message the jgroups consumer receives before the exchange is routed, set the exchange body from org.jgroups.Message.getObject(). For an ObjectMessage, which is the message type the Camel jgroups producer sends, JGroups Java-deserializes the payload through an ObjectInputStream on its own receive thread as the message arrives, and getObject() returns the resulting object. No java.io.ObjectInputFilter was applied on that path unless the deployment had set a JVM-wide serialization filter: camel-jgroups installed none, and the JGroups versions shipped with the affected releases apply none of their own, so any serializable class on the application classpath could be instantiated and its deserialization callbacks run. Unless a channel or the channelProperties option is configured, the consumer creates its channel with new JChannel(), the stock JGroups protocol stack, which multicasts over UDP without the AUTH protocol and witho

  • Oct 19, 2026Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability in Apache Camel Spring Redis component.CVE-2026-78165 · Email & office · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 8.8

Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability in Apache Camel Spring Redis component. This issue affects Apache Camel: from 2.11.0 before 4.18.5, from 4.19.0 before 4.22.1. RedisConfiguration.getSerializer lazily built a bare JdkSerializationRedisSerializer whenever no serializer option was configured, and that instance was used for every read the component performs. Spring's implementation delegates through DeserializingConverter to DefaultDeserializer, which reads the bytes with a ConfigurableObjectInputStream and installs no java.io.ObjectInputFilter on the stream, so an arbitrary serialized class graph was materialised and its readObject method executed. RedisConsumer.setBody applied that serializer to the raw bytes of every message published to the subscribed channels, before the Exchange was constructed and therefore before any route logic could inspect the message, so an actor able to issue PUBLISH on a subscribed channel reached the deserialization sink directly. The same default serializer backed the RedisTemplate built by RedisConfiguration.createDefaultTemplate, so the producer read commands GET, HGET, HGETALL and HVALS deserialized whatever was stored in the Red

  • Oct 19, 2026Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability in Apache Camel.CVE-2026-78162 · Email & office · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgCritical 10

Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability in Apache Camel. This issue affects Apache Camel: from 4.0.0 before 4.18.5, from 4.19.0 before 4.22.1. The camel-hazelcast component applies a default Hazelcast JavaSerializationFilterConfig to the instances it creates from its own configuration, a protection introduced by CVE-2026-43865. That change did not reach two of the configuration paths Camel builds itself, so those paths continued to create Hazelcast instances whose Java deserialization is unrestricted. ReplicatedHazelcastAggregationRepository extends HazelcastAggregationRepository but overrides doStart() without calling super.doStart(), keeping its own copy of the bootstrap block, and therefore never received the filter: a route using it without supplying a hazelcastInstance starts a Hazelcast member that deserializes values read from the backing ReplicatedMap with no class restriction. HazelcastDefaultComponent#getOrCreateHzClientInstance() builds its own ClientConfig when hazelcastMode=client is selected and neither a referenced ClientConfig nor hazelcastConfigUri is supplied, and likewise applied no filter, so client-mode endpoints behaved differently from node-mode
