  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: cdc-acm: skip URB restart in port_shutdown if disconnected acm_port_shutdown() is calCVE-2026-98773 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: cdc-acm: skip URB restart in port_shutdown if disconnected acm_port_shutdown() is called from the tty-port machinery whenever the last user closes the port. acm_disconnect() sets acm->disconnected and calls tty_port_tty_vhangup(), which eventually triggers port_shutdown(). At that point acm_disconnect() has already called acm_poison_urbs() and is about to free the control and read URBs. However, acm_port_shutdown() unconditionally calls acm_unpoison_urbs() and, when the ALWAYS_POLL_CTRL quirk is set, immediately re-submits the ctrlurb and all read URBs. If the concurrent acm_disconnect() then frees those URBs and their DMA buffers while they are in-flight, the result is a use-after-free in acm_ctrl_irq() or acm_read_bulk_callback() accessing the freed DMA memory. Fix by checking acm->disconnected after draining the delayed anchor and returning early: if we are in a disconnect path the URBs must remain poisoned and must not be resubmitted. The early return is placed after the delayed-anchor drain loop because that loop only cancels write-side accounting (wb->use = false and autopm counter) and does not t

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: udp: remove a disconnected socket from the 4-tuple hash table A UDP socket bound to a specific address and port keeps its entry in the 4-tuple hash table after it is disconnected: sk binds to 127.0.0.1:21001 sk connects to 127.0.0.2:20001 // filed in the 4-tuple table sk disconnects, connect(AF_UNSPEC) // still filed, peer now 0.0.0.0:0 __udp_disconnect() takes a socket out of that table only as a side effect of ->rehash() or ->unhash(), and it skips ->rehash() when SOCK_BINDADDR_LOCK is set and ->unhash() when SOCK_BINDPORT_LOCK is set. commit 6996a2d2d0a6 ("udp: Unhash auto-bound connected sk from 4-tuple hash table when disconnected.") fixed the same end state for a wildcard-bound socket, by a path this one does not take. The entry is counted whether or not anything hits it. hash4_cnt on the hash2 slot stays raised for as long as the socket lives, so udp_has_hash4() keeps sending every packet for that address and port through the 4-tuple lookup first. On IPv6 it can also be hit. __udp_disconnect() does not clear sk_v6_daddr, so udp_v6_rehash() files the entry under the peer the socket was conne

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: bcd2000: Fix race between rawmidi and disconnect Although we tried to fix the potential UAF issues at USB disconnect on bcd2000 driver, there is still an overlooked case -- namely, when a rawmidi trigger callback has been already running at USB disconnect handling, the in-flight function (e.g. bcd2000_midi_send()) could still access the URB, because the previous URB NULL-check & clearance was considered only for the URB complete callbacks, but not about the parallel rawmidi operations. For addressing the race, this patch introduced a new spinlock that covers each rawmidi operation as well as the rawmidi handling in the complete callback. The URB is cleared with the lock, so it guarantees that the pending rawmidi task already finished or a NULL check is effective.

  • Sep 24, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: ibss: wait for in-flight TX on disconnect While leaving an IBSS in ieee802CVE-2026-93804 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: ibss: wait for in-flight TX on disconnect While leaving an IBSS in ieee80211_ibss_disconnect() mac80211 flushes stations, turns the carrier off and immediately tells the driver to leave as well. While there may be synchronize_net() in station flush and in this code later, packets can still be transmitted due to cross-CPU race conditions after carrier off is set. Therefore, it's possible for a race to happen where a TX to the driver occurs while or after telling it to leave the IBSS. This can be confusing to drivers, and in the case of iwlwifi leads to an attempt to use invalid queues. Move netif_carrier_off() to occur before sta_info_flush() during IBSS disconnect, and add synchronize_net() if flushing didn't, so that the synchronize_net() always happens between turning the carrier off and telling the driver, avoiding this race.

  • Sep 17, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: disconnect on CSA to channel 0 The refactor for the CSA parsing erroneouslCVE-2026-90344 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: disconnect on CSA to channel 0 The refactor for the CSA parsing erroneously equates channel zero and no information present, leading it to ignore a CSA on an AP that advertises a switch to that (invalid) channel. This leads to not disconnecting, which we should. For Intel devices, this can lead to a firmware crash. Fix this by using an int type for the channel number as well as the opclass, and using a (negative) value that cannot be encoded in the element to indicate it's not present.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: airspy: use vb2_video_unregister_device() on disconnect to fix NULL deref airspy_disconnect() clears s->udev under v4l2_lock, but airspy_stop_streaming() unconditionally calls airspy_ctrl_msg() and airspy_free_stream_bufs() afterwards. If a streaming user closes the device after disconnect, stop_streaming() runs and dereferences the NULL s->udev: airspy_stop_streaming() airspy_ctrl_msg(s, CMD_RECEIVER_MODE, 0, 0, NULL, 0) usb_sndctrlpipe(s->udev, 0) /* NULL deref */ airspy_free_stream_bufs(s) usb_free_coherent(s->udev, ...) /* NULL deref */ The airspy driver uses vb2_fop_release() in its file_operations, so replace video_unregister_device(&s->vdev) with vb2_video_unregister_device(&s->vdev) and move it before clearing s->udev. vb2_video_unregister_device() releases the vb2 queue, which synchronously runs airspy_stop_streaming() if streaming is active, so the URBs, coherent DMA stream buffers and the hardware stop control message all execute while s->udev is still valid. vb2_video_unregister_device() locks vdev->queue->lock (vb_queue_lock) internally, and stop_streaming(

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: em28xx: fix use-after-free of dev_next->devlist on disconnect When a device with has_dual_ts=1 is probed and the is_audio_only path is taken, both dev and dev->dev_next are added to the global em28xx_devlist via em28xx_init_extension(). However, during disconnect, em28xx_close_extension(dev) only calls list_del(&dev->devlist), leaving dev->dev_next->devlist still linked in the global list. When dev_next is subsequently freed via kref_put(), its devlist entry becomes a dangling pointer in em28xx_devlist. The next device probe that calls em28xx_init_extension() triggers a list corruption BUG when list_add_tail detects the freed node. This bug was exposed by commit a368ecde8a50 ("USB: core: Fix duplicate endpoint bug by clearing reserved bits in the descriptor") which clears reserved bits in bEndpointAddress during endpoint parsing. This causes fuzzed endpoint addresses like 0xf3 to be normalized to 0x83, which em28xx interprets as a vendor audio endpoint, enabling the is_audio_only + has_dual_ts code path that was previously unreachable with such descriptors. Fix this by removing dev->dev_next->devlist fro

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: gadget: u_audio: Fix use-after-free on sound card disconnect g_audio_cleanup() invokes snd_card_free_when_closed() to initiate sound card teardown and immediately frees the underlying struct snd_uac_chip context. However, snd_card_free_when_closed() returns asynchronously while ALSA control elements (kctls) remain open in userspace. When userspace control applications access or close these open file descriptors, kctl callbacks attempt to dereference kctl->private_data pointing to &uac->c_prm or &uac->p_prm within the freed uac structure, resulting in a use-after-free (UAF) memory corruption. Fix this issue by deferring the destruction of struct snd_uac_chip until all references to the ALSA sound card are released. Register a custom card->private_free callback (u_audio_card_free) during g_audio_setup() that frees uac and its associated playback/capture request and ring buffers only when the sound card reference count drops to zero.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: bcd2000: clear the URB pointers on disconnect bcd2000_free_usb_related_resources() frees both URBs and leaves the pointers behind: usb_kill_urb(bcd2k->midi_out_urb); usb_kill_urb(bcd2k->midi_in_urb); usb_free_urb(bcd2k->midi_out_urb); usb_free_urb(bcd2k->midi_in_urb); The rawmidi device outlives that call. A substream that is still open when the device is unplugged reaches bcd2000_midi_send() from the trigger path on close. That function writes to the freed URB and then hands it to the USB core: bcd2k->midi_out_urb->transfer_buffer_length = BUFSIZE; ... ret = usb_submit_urb(bcd2k->midi_out_urb, GFP_ATOMIC); usb_kill_urb() does not stop a later submission either, so a submit that races the disconnect can requeue the URB after it has been reaped. midi_in_urb is exposed the same way: bcd2000_input_complete() resubmits it from the completion handler. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: byd - synchronize timer deletion before freeing private data byd_disconnect() uses timer_delete() before freeing the driver's private data. This does not wait for a running byd_clear_touch() callback, which dereferences the private data and its psmouse pointer. A callback racing with disconnect can therefore access the private data after it has been freed. The timer can also still be re-armed by byd_process_byte() while the disconnect is in progress. Use timer_shutdown_sync() before freeing the private data: it waits for a running callback and turns any later re-arm attempt into a no-op.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: usb: ipheth: fix carrier_work UAF on disconnect ipheth_sndbulk_callback() re-arms the carrier-check work on any non-zero URB status: else schedule_delayed_work(&dev->carrier_work, 0); Nothing ties that to the interface being up, so the work can be armed again after ipheth_close() has already drained it, and stay armed until the netdev whose private area embeds it is freed. On unplug with a TX URB in flight, ipheth_disconnect() drains the work through unregister_netdev() -> ipheth_close() -> cancel_delayed_work_sync() and only then calls ipheth_kill_urbs(). usb_kill_urb() completes the in-flight TX URB with -ENOENT, so ipheth_sndbulk_callback() runs after the drain and re-arms carrier_work. The same completion also re-arms the work if the interface is only brought down while a TX URB is in flight, and ipheth_carrier_check_work() then keeps re-queueing itself once a second. unregister_netdev() does not call ipheth_close() for an already-down interface, so nothing drains it on the later unplug either. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thunderbolt: Prevent XDomain delayed work use-after-free on disconnect tb_xdp_handle_request() runs on system_wq and queues xd->state_work via queue_delayed_work() in three request handlers: PROPERTIES_CHANGED_REQUEST, UUID_REQUEST (via start_handshake), and LINK_STATE_CHANGE_REQUEST. Similarly, update_xdomain() queues xd->properties_changed_work when local properties change. Concurrently, tb_xdomain_remove() calls stop_handshake() which does cancel_delayed_work_sync() on both delayed works. Later, tb_xdomain_unregister() calls device_unregister() which eventually frees the xdomain. Since commit 559c1e1e0134 ("thunderbolt: Run tb_xdp_handle_request() in system workqueue") moved the request handler off tb->wq, the handler and the remove path are no longer serialized. If queue_delayed_work() executes after cancel_delayed_work_sync() but before the xdomain is freed, the delayed work fires on a freed object. Add xd->removing that tb_xdomain_remove() sets under xd->lock before calling stop_handshake(). Each external queue site holds the same lock and checks removing before calling queue_delayed_work(). In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: cfg80211: use wiphy work for socket owner autodisconnect nl80211_netlink_notify() walks the cfg80211 wireless device list when a NETLINK_GENERIC socket is released. If the socket owns a connection, the notifier queues the embedded wdev->disconnect_wk work item. That work is a plain work_struct today. NETDEV_GOING_DOWN cancels it, but a NETLINK_URELEASE notifier that already observed conn_owner_nlportid can queue it after that cancel returns. _cfg80211_unregister_wdev() then removes the wdev from the list and waits for RCU readers, but synchronize_net() does not drain work queued by such a reader. Make the autodisconnect work a wiphy_work instead. The callback already needs the wiphy mutex, and wiphy_work runs under that mutex. This lets teardown cancel pending autodisconnect work while holding the mutex, without a cancel_work_sync() vs. worker locking concern. Also cancel the wiphy work after list_del_rcu() and synchronize_net(). Any NETLINK_URELEASE notifier that had already reached the wdev list has then either queued the work and it is removed, or can no longer find the wdev.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: atm: ueagle-atm: reject descriptors that confuse probe and disconnect uea_probe() distinguishes a pre-firmware device from a post-firmware one using the USB id (UEA_IS_PREFIRM()), and stores a different object as the interface data in each case: a 'struct completion' for a pre-firmware device (to be waited on in .disconnect()), or a 'struct usbatm_data' for a post-firmware one. uea_disconnect() instead tells the two apart by the number of interfaces of the active configuration (a pre-firmware device exposes a single interface, ADI930 has 2 and eagle has 3), and casts the interface data accordingly. Because the two handlers use different criteria, a crafted device that advertises a pre-firmware id together with a multi-interface descriptor (or a post-firmware id with a single interface) makes them disagree: the small 'struct completion' stored by uea_probe() is then passed to usbatm_usb_disconnect(), which casts it to 'struct usbatm_data' and takes instance->serialize, reading past the end of the allocation: BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in __mutex_lock+0x152a/0x1b80 Read of size 8 at addr ffff8880470

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: esd_usb: kill anchored URBs before freeing netdevs esd_usb_disconnect() frees each CAN netdev with free_candev() inside its per-netdev loop and only calls unlink_all_urbs(dev) afterwards. The per-netdev private data (struct esd_usb_net_priv) is embedded in the net_device allocation returned by alloc_candev(), so once free_candev() has run, dev->nets[i] points to freed memory. unlink_all_urbs() then dereferences the freed dev->nets[i] to kill the per-netdev TX anchor (usb_kill_anchored_urbs(&priv->tx_submitted)), clear active_tx_jobs, and reset priv->tx_contexts[]. Reorder the teardown so the anchored URBs are killed before the netdevs are freed, matching other CAN/USB drivers in the same directory such as ems_usb, usb_8dev and mcba_usb, which unregister, then unlink, then free: unregister the netdevs first (which stops their TX queues), call unlink_all_urbs(dev) once, then free the netdevs. This issue was found by an in-house static analysis tool.

A URB that completes in the small window between cancel_work_sync() and usb_kill_anchored_urbs() therefore re-arms the work after its only cancel. Nothing cancels it again before snd_card_free() frees the card-private tascam structure, so the work handler then runs on freed memory. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: misc: usbio: fix disconnect UAF in client teardown usbio_disconnect() walks usbio->cli_list in reverse and uninitializes each auxiliary device. auxiliary_device_uninit() drops the device reference, and for an unbound child that can run usbio_auxdev_release() and free the containing struct usbio_client. list_for_each_entry_reverse() advances after the loop body by reading client->link.prev. If the current client is freed by auxiliary_device_uninit(), the iterator dereferences freed memory. In Zephyr's experimental USB host stack (CONFIG_USB_HOST_STACK), usbh_device_disconnect() (subsys/usb/host/usbh_device.c) freed the root usb_device slab object without clearing the cached pointer ctx->root. The bus removal handler dev_removed_handler() (subsys/usb/host/usbh_core.c) decides what to tear down solely from ctx->root, checking only that it is non-NULL. Because UHC controller drivers (e.g. uhc_max3421e, uhc_mcux_common) synthesize UHC_EVT_DEV_REMOVED directly from physical bus line state with no debounce or state guard, an attacker with physical USB access (or a rogue device that bounces its connection) can deliver a second device-removed event after a root device disconnect. The handler then re-enters usbh_device_disconnect() with the dangling pointer, locking a mutex inside the freed object (use-after-free), removing the freed node from the device list, and calling k_mem_slab_free() on the already-freed block (double-free). If the slab block has been reissued to a newly attached device in between, this corrupts a live object. Impact is denial of service (crash) and memory corruption; the attack vector is physical/local. The flaw was introduced in v4.4.0 by the connec

When a user invokes curl using a schemeless URL combined with `--proto-default` sftp (or scp), a disconnect occurs between the tool layer and libcurl. The tool layer incorrectly infers the URL scheme, which erroneously bypasses the initialization of critical SSH security options like CURLOPT_SSH_HOST_PUBLIC_KEY_SHA256 and CURLOPT_SSH_KNOWNHOSTS. Conversely, the libcurl runtime successfully honors CURLOPT_DEFAULT_PROTOCOL and establishes the connection via SFTP/SCP as specified. Because the tool layer skipped the security configuration, these SSH host verification options are silently omitted, causing curl to connect to an unverified SSH remote host without throwing an error.

  • May 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: mixer: oss: Add card disconnect checkpoints ALSA OSS mixer layer calls the kcontrol CVE-2026-43126 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: mixer: oss: Add card disconnect checkpoints ALSA OSS mixer layer calls the kcontrol ops rather individually, and pending calls might be not always caught at disconnecting the device. For avoiding the potential UAF scenarios, add sanity checks of the card disconnection at each entry point of OSS mixer accesses. The rwsem is taken just before that check, hence the rest context should be covered by that properly.

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
