  • Oct 28, 2026Apache Kafka Connect has the /connector-plugins/{connector-type}/config/validate endpoint on its REST API to validate connector configurations.CVE-2026-116593 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.org

Apache Kafka Connect has the /connector-plugins/{connector-type}/config/validate endpoint on its REST API to validate connector configurations. Apache Kafka Connect also support Configuration Providers which enable to hide the values of sensitive configuration and only resolve them at runtime.  An attacker with access to the validate endpoint can use it to resolve and return plaintext values via any of the configuration providers installed on a Connect worker. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 4.2.2, 4.3.2, 4.4.0 or above, which fix this issue.

  • Oct 28, 2026Apache Kafka Connect contains an authentication bypass vulnerability affecting the admin REST API when admin.listeners is configured with a separate listener frCVE-2026-115644 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.org

Apache Kafka Connect contains an authentication bypass vulnerability affecting the admin REST API when admin.listeners is configured with a separate listener from the main listeners property. When operators isolate the admin REST API by explicitly configuring the "admin.listeners" property, REST extensions specified via rest.extension.classes (such as BasicAuthSecurityRestExtension) are not registered or applied to the admin resource configuration. While the primary REST API listener (configured via listeners) enforces configured authentication and authorization filters, endpoints mounted under the separate admin listener (/admin/loggers) fail to inherit or instantiate these extension filters. As a result, the admin logger endpoint accepts unauthenticated read and write requests even when security extensions are active on the main listener. Impact: An unauthenticated attacker with network access to the admin listener can: 1. Read the complete set of logger names and levels, disclosing loaded class names and which security extensions are in use. 2. Write logger levels, including with scope=cluster which propagates the change to all workers in the Connect cluster. This can b

The Pulsar Functions worker REST API provides two endpoints that return the catalog of Pulsar IO connectors installed on the functions worker: the worker connectors endpoint (/admin/v2/worker/connectors) and the deprecated functions connectors endpoint (/admin/v2/functions/connectors and /admin/v3/functions/connectors). When authorization is enabled, the worker connectors endpoint requires super-user access. The functions connectors endpoint, served both by the functions worker and by a broker running the functions worker, returns the same catalog without this check. As a result, when authentication and authorization are enabled, any authenticated client can read the connector catalog through the functions connectors endpoint, regardless of the permissions granted to its role and without super-user access. Unauthenticated requests are rejected unless anonymous access is configured with an anonymous user role. The catalog contains the connector type definitions installed in the functions worker's connectors directory: the connector name, its description, and the source, sink and configuration class names. It does not contain configured source or sink instances, their configuration

  • Oct 21, 2026The Pulsar Functions Worker provides a REST API endpoint for triggering a function, which publishes a caller-supplied value to one of the function's configured CVE-2026-105935 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgMedium 4.9

The Pulsar Functions Worker provides a REST API endpoint for triggering a function, which publishes a caller-supplied value to one of the function's configured input topics. The Functions Worker performs this publish with its own broker client, which authenticates with the Worker's configured broker-client credentials rather than the credentials of the API caller. When authorization is enabled, in Apache Pulsar 2.4.0 and later versions, the trigger endpoint checks only that the caller is authorized to perform function operations in the function's namespace. It does not check that the caller is authorized to produce to the input topic that the message is published to. Versions before 2.4.0 do not perform a caller authorization check for the trigger endpoint at all. Function input topics are not restricted to the function's own tenant or namespace, and registering a function does not require produce permission on its input topics. As a result, an authenticated user who is authorized to manage functions in a namespace, for example a role granted the functions permission on that namespace, can cause the Functions Worker to publish messages with caller-controlled content to a topic th

  • Oct 21, 2026The Apache Pulsar broker admin REST API provides a truncate operation for persistent topics (DELETE /admin/v2/persistent/{tenant}/{namespace}/{topic}/truncate).CVE-2026-105934 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 7.2

The Apache Pulsar broker admin REST API provides a truncate operation for persistent topics (DELETE /admin/v2/persistent/{tenant}/{namespace}/{topic}/truncate). Truncating a topic moves all subscription cursors of the topic to the end of the topic and deletes the topic's inactive ledgers. Truncating a non-partitioned topic, or a single partition addressed by its partition name, correctly requires the tenant admin role or the superuser role. When the operation is requested for the name of a partitioned topic, the broker does not apply this tenant admin check to the caller. Instead, it truncates each partition using the broker's own internal admin client, which authenticates with the broker's configured client credentials rather than the caller's identity. Each per-partition truncate request is still checked for the tenant admin role or the superuser role, but against the broker's internal identity instead of the caller. The partitions are therefore truncated only when the broker's configured client role is a superuser or an admin of the target tenant, which is the usual configuration when authorization is enabled. As a result, when that condition holds, an authenticated user who is

  • Oct 21, 2026The Apache Pulsar broker admin REST API provides endpoints to read, set and remove the topic-level entry filter policy of a topic.CVE-2026-105932 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgLow 2.3

The Apache Pulsar broker admin REST API provides endpoints to read, set and remove the topic-level entry filter policy of a topic. For persistent topics these endpoints check that the caller is authorized for the entry filters topic policy operation. The corresponding endpoints for non-persistent topics (/admin/v2/non-persistent/{tenant}/{namespace}/{topic}/entryFilters) do not perform this authorization check. The only authorization check these endpoints perform is an indirect lookup permission check, made while the topic's partition metadata is retrieved; it is present in all affected versions. As a result, when authentication and authorization are enabled, an authenticated user who has been granted produce or consume permission on a non-persistent topic, or on its namespace, but not permission to manage the topic's policies can read, replace or remove the topic-level entry filter policy of that topic. These operations should be restricted to users with the tenant admin role or the superuser role. This impact analysis assumes that Pulsar has been configured with the default authorization provider. For custom authorization providers, the impact could be slightly different. The p

The Apache Pulsar broker exposes a transaction administration REST API under /admin/v3/transactions. When authentication and authorization are enabled, most of the read endpoints of this API verify only that the request is authenticated and that the broker serves the requested topic or transaction coordinator. They do not check whether the caller is permitted to access the tenant, namespace or topic whose data is returned. The endpoints that modify state, which abort a transaction or scale the transaction coordinators, correctly require super-user access and are not affected. As a result, any authenticated user, including one that has been granted no permissions, can read transaction coordinator and transaction information belonging to other tenants. This includes the list of transaction coordinators with the broker service URLs that serve them, transaction coordinator statistics and internal statistics, transaction metadata including the names of the topics and subscriptions a transaction involves and the principal that opened it, the list of long-running transactions on a transaction coordinator, transaction buffer and pending acknowledgement statistics and internal statistics f

  • Oct 21, 2026Cross-site request forgery in the REST API of Progressive Robot hMailServer 6.0.0 through 6.3.6 allows a remote attacker to make an authenticated user's browserCVE-2026-114470 · Other software · Progressive Robot Ltd · reported by cve@gitlab.comMedium 5.3

Cross-site request forgery in the REST API of Progressive Robot hMailServer 6.0.0 through 6.3.6 allows a remote attacker to make an authenticated user's browser perform a state-changing request. The REST API accepts HTTP Basic authentication and answers a browser with a Basic sign-in box; a browser caches the credential once the box is answered and sends it with later requests to that origin, including a top-level form post from another site, and the server reads a request body whatever its declared content type. The cross-site protection covered only the cookie session (a header a cross-site form cannot set, and a SameSite=Strict cookie); HTTP Basic was not held to it. A page under an attacker's control, visited by a user whose browser holds a cached Basic credential for the REST API - typically an administrator who signed in through the box - could therefore cause a state-changing request such as creating a domain, an account or an API key, or changing a setting, with the victim's credential. The attacker cannot read the cross-origin response, so the forgery is blind.

  • Oct 21, 2026The pfSense REST API package is an unofficial, open-source REST and GraphQL API for pfSense CE and pfSense Plus firewalls.CVE-2026-113779 · Other software · pfrest · reported by GitHubHigh 8.8

The pfSense REST API package is an unofficial, open-source REST and GraphQL API for pfSense CE and pfSense Plus firewalls. A privilege escalation vulnerability in pfSense-pkg-RESTAPI prior to version 2.9.0 allows authenticated accounts holding the dedicated settings sync permission to modify REST API configuration secrets. This enables a non-administrative user to elevate their privileges to a full administrator. pfSense-pkg-RESTAPI 2.9.0 patches the issue. Access to the HA settings sync endpoint now strictly requires full administrative privileges (`page-all`). The sub-administrative sync privilege has been removed in versions v2.9.0 and later. In addition to correcting the access control boundary, version 2.9.0 includes the following hardening measures: opt-in default and format and validation modernization. As a workaround, one may mitigate exposure by taking either or all of the following steps. Revoke Scoped Permissions: Remove the `api-v2-system-restapi-settings-sync-post` privilege from all non-administrative users. Apply ACLs: Configure REST API Access Control Lists (ACLs) and/or firewall rules to restrict access to API endpoints exclusively to trusted administrator and HA

  • Oct 15, 2026An authorization bypass vulnerability exists in the REST API of multiple versions of OpenNMS Meridian and Horizon.CVE-2026-111235 · Other software · The OpenNMS Group · reported by security@opennms.comCritical 9.1

An authorization bypass vulnerability exists in the REST API of multiple versions of OpenNMS Meridian and Horizon. The /rest/** Spring Security filter chains authorize requests with intercept-url rules that name the HTTP method as an uppercase token, compare the method case-sensitively, and have no terminal deny rule. A request that uses a non-canonical (for example lowercase) method token matches no rule and is processed without authentication. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can read the monitored inventory and can create, modify, or delete resources through the REST API, which includes injecting events to fabricate or suppress alarms. The /rest/alarms chain has the same missing deny rule and discloses whether an alarm exists through a difference in the response. The fix adds a terminal deny rule to each REST filter chain. The solution is to upgrade to Meridian 2024.3.14, 2025.0.11, 2026.0.1 and Horizon 36.0.5 or newer. Meridian and Horizon installation instructions state that they are intended for installation within an organization's private networks and should not be directly accessible from the Internet.

  • Oct 12, 2026The Metasploit Framework Web Service REST API (msf-ws) exposes the credential store through Msf::WebServices::CredentialServlet.CVE-2026-87689 · Other software · Rapid7 · reported by cve@rapid7.comCritical 9.8

The Metasploit Framework Web Service REST API (msf-ws) exposes the credential store through Msf::WebServices::CredentialServlet. Every mutating and read route in this servlet calls warden.authenticate! before processing a request, except the update_credential (PUT) and delete_credentials (DELETE) handlers for /api/v1/credentials, which omit the authentication call entirely. Because these handlers call directly into lib/msf/core/db_manager/cred.rb, which performs no authorization check of its own, any client able to reach the web service on its default 0.0.0.0:8080 listener can read, modify, or permanently delete every stored credential record — including passwords, hashes, and private keys stored for a shared team engagement — without presenting any authentication. All published versions of Metasploit Framework through 6.5.4 are affected. The issue is fixed in 6.5.5 by adding warden.authenticate! as the first statement in both handlers, matching the pattern used by every other route in the API.

Inefficient algorithmic complexity in the webmail's message view of the REST API in Progressive Robot hMailServer 6.3.2 through 6.3.5 allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to make the webmail, the administration console and the REST API unavailable by sending a message. The route that renders a received message's HTML replaced each reference to an embedded image in place, with work that grew with the square of the number of references, and wrote the image out for every reference while counting it against its size limit only once. A message whose HTML refers to one small embedded image a very large number of times, opened in the webmail by its recipient, therefore keeps one of the listener's four worker threads busy for minutes and makes it build a document of gigabytes, so that a few such messages leave the HTTP listener unable to answer anybody.

Inefficient algorithmic complexity in the REST API (6.3.3 through 6.3.5) and the IMAP PREVIEW response (6.2.22 through 6.3.5) of Progressive Robot hMailServer allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to make the webmail, the administration console and the REST API unavailable by sending a message. A received HTML-only message holding a very large number of entity references therefore keeps one of the listener's four worker threads busy for minutes or longer each time the recipient's webmail lists the folder, without the message being opened, so that a few such listings leave the HTTP listener unable to answer anybody. The IMAP PREVIEW response read such text the same way, holding an IMAP thread for each client that asks for the preview of such a message. Missing Host header validation and missing throttling of failed administrator sign-ins in the REST API listener of Progressive Robot hMailServer 6.0.0 through 6.3.5 allow a remote attacker to brute-force the server administrator's password through the administrator's own browser by DNS rebinding. The listener, which is off by default and bound to the loopback when enabled, answered requests whatever their Host header named, and a failed sign-in with the administrator's password from the loopback was neither auto-banned nor delayed. A web page whose host name the attacker rebinds to 127.0.0.1, opened in a browser on the server, can therefore send authenticated requests to the listener, read the answers and try administrator passwords at full speed until one is accepted, giving the attacker full administrative control of the mail server.

An authorization logic vulnerability exists in the Brocade Fabric OS versions before 10.0.1 REST API gateway. The internal gate guarding restricted management endpoints relies exclusively on client-controlled HTTP headers. An authenticated user with any valid REST session can spoof these headers to gain unauthorized access to internal management endpoints. This allows low-privilege users to view sensitive chassis metadata, hardware memory patrolling state, and firmware integrity audit logs.

A missing authorization check in Brocade Fabric OS versions before 10.0.1 REST API interface of affected platform releases allows an authenticated user, regardless of their assigned role or administrative scope, to retrieve complete Monitoring and Alerting Policy Suite (MAPS) violation data across all logical switches. Multiple stack-based buffer overflow vulnerabilities exist in the REST API management component of Brocade Fabric OS versions prior to 10.0.1. When processing API request payloads (such as device configuration attributes or port mapping requests) the REST API service fails to properly validate incoming array counts and string lengths against internal buffer capacities. An authenticated attacker with REST API access can transmit crafted, oversized request parameters to induce memory corruption on the execution stack. This may result in a denial-of-service condition (daemon crash) or potential arbitrary code execution within the management process context.
