Oct 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: Don't transfer shrinker pages for pinned bos on purgeable state change Pinned bos CVE-2026-99145 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: Don't transfer shrinker pages for pinned bos on purgeable state change Pinned bos have their pages removed from the shrinker's shrinkable / purgeable counts on pin, and added back on unpin according to the bo's purgeable state at that time. However, xe_bo_set_purgeable_shrinker() unconditionally transfers pages between the shrinkable and purgeable counts. If the purgeable state of a pinned bo changes, for example by userspace madvising DONTNEED on a VMA of a bo that is also pinned as a scanout buffer, this underflows one count and, after unpin, leaves the other one permanently inflated. Only update the purgeable flag for pinned bos, and leave the page accounting to unpin. (cherry picked from commit afe6bc012034123fd838328668e609bf57e46bd3)

Oct 11, 2026ngx_cache_purge before 3.0.4 can allow file deletion via a symlink attack in certain situations where nginx and a served application (e.g., WordPress) run underCVE-2026-108981 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by MITRELow 3.6
ngx_cache_purge before 3.0.4 can allow file deletion via a symlink attack in certain situations where nginx and a served application (e.g., WordPress) run under the same user account. The attacker must be able to create a symlink inside the cache path. Version 3.0.4 fixes this for the case of a symlink created at an arbitrary earlier time, but does not resolve an applicable TOCTOU race condition. (The ngx_cache_purge module follows symlinks while walking the cache directory tree during purge operations. The module relies on nginx's ngx_walk_tree(), which relies on stat() and therefore follows symlinks.)

Sep 24, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlwifi: mld: purge async notifications upon nic error This fixes a kernel panic in CVE-2026-97474 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.4
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlwifi: mld: purge async notifications upon nic error This fixes a kernel panic in reconfig failure: 1. we have a BSS connection 2. we have a NAN connection 3. FW error occurs 4. reconfig restores the BSS connection 5. however, restoring the NAN connection fails due to a FW error. 6. erroneously, ieee80211_handle_reconfig_failure is called and marks all interfaces as not-in-driver (will be fixed in a different patch). 7. mac80211 frees the links of the BSS connection but doesn't tell the driver about that, as it thinks that this vif is not in the driver. 8. in ieee80211_stop_device, *ALL* wiphy works are getting flushed (erroneously?) 9. Therefore, async_handlers_wk is being executed, processing the statistics notification that was received after we restored the BSS connection. 10. the notification handler dereferences fw_id_to_bss_conf[id], which is now a dangling pointer, as mac80211 already freed this link in (7). 11. On the first access to one of the links fields, we panic. While this can and should be fixed by removing the call to ieee80211_handle_reconfig_failure in (6), it is al

Sep 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfc: pn533: purge fragmented skbs during cleanup pn53x_common_clean() purges resp_q beforeCVE-2026-80797 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfc: pn533: purge fragmented skbs during cleanup pn53x_common_clean() purges resp_q before freeing the common PN533 state, but it leaves fragment_skb untouched. The fragmentation helpers queue transmit fragments there while sending large initiator or target-mode frames, and those skbs remain owned by the driver until they are sent or discarded. If the device is removed while fragments are still queued, the common cleanup path frees the PN533 state without releasing the queued fragment skbs, leaking them. Purge fragment_skb during cleanup alongside resp_q.

Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix effective prog array index with BPF_F_PREORDER replace_effective_prog() and purgeCVE-2026-72427 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix effective prog array index with BPF_F_PREORDER replace_effective_prog() and purge_effective_progs() located the slot in the effective array by walking the program hlist and counting entries linearly. That count does not match the array layout: compute_effective_ progs() places BPF_F_PREORDER programs at the front (ancestor cgroup first, attach order within a cgroup) and the rest after them (descendant cgroup first). So when a preorder program is present, the linear hlist position no longer equals the program's index in the effective array. For replace_effective_prog() (bpf_link_update()) this overwrote the wrong slot, corrupting the effective order. For purge_effective_progs(), it could dummy out a slot belonging to a different program and leave the detached program in the array while bpf_prog_put() drops its reference, i.e. a use-after-free. Fix both by replaying compute_effective_progs()'s placement (including the per-cgroup preorder reversal) in a shared effective_prog_pos() helper. Identify the entry by its struct bpf_prog_list pointer rather than by (prog, link) value, so the lookup resolves to ex

Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: fix NPD in bo_meminfo() When a buffer object is purged, its ttm.resource is set toCVE-2026-72359 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: fix NPD in bo_meminfo() When a buffer object is purged, its ttm.resource is set to NULL via the TTM pipeline gutting flow. However, the BO remains in the client's object list until userspace explicitly closes the GEM handle. If memory stats are queried during this time, accessing bo->ttm.resource->mem_type will result in a NULL pointer dereference. Fix this by safely skipping purged BOs in bo_meminfo, as they no longer consume any memory. User is getting NPD on device resume, and possible theory is that in bo_move(), if we need to evict something to SYSTEM to save the CCS state, but the BO is marked as dontneed, this won't trigger a move but will nuke the pages, leaving us with a NULL bo resource. And the meminfo() doesn't look ready to handle a NULL resource. v2 (Sashiko): - There could potentially be other cases where we might end up with a NULL resource, so make this a general NULL check for now. Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe/pt: prevent invalid cursor access for purged BOs During a page table walk for bindiCVE-2026-72358 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe/pt: prevent invalid cursor access for purged BOs During a page table walk for binding, xe_pt_stage_bind() explicitly skips initializing the xe_res_cursor for purged BOs, treating them similarly to NULL VMAs by only setting the cursor size. However, xe_pt_hugepte_possible() and xe_pt_scan_64K() did not check if the BO was purged before attempting to walk the cursor using xe_res_dma() and xe_res_next(). Because the cursor was left uninitialized for purged BOs, this falls through and triggers warnings like: WARNING: drivers/gpu/drm/xe/xe_res_cursor.h:274 at xe_res_next Fix this by explicitly checking if the BO is purged in both xe_pt_hugepte_possible() and xe_pt_scan_64K(), returning early just as we do for NULL VMAs, avoiding the invalid cursor accesses entirely. As a precaution, also zero-initialize the cursor in xe_pt_stage_bind() to ensure we don't pass garbage data into the page table walkers if we ever hit a similar edge case in the future. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: batman-adv: bla: fix report_work leak on backbone_gw purge batadv_bla_purge_backbone_gw() removes stale backbone gateway entries, but fails to properly handle their associated report_work: - If report_work is running, the purge must wait for it to finish before freeing the backbone_gw, otherwise the worker may access freed memory (e.g. bat_priv). - If report_work is pending, the purge must cancel it and release the reference held for that pending work item. The previous implementation called hlist_for_each_entry_safe() inside a spin_lock_bh() section, but cancel_work_sync() may sleep and therefore cannot be called from within a spinlock-protected region. Restructure the loop to handle one entry per spinlock critical section: acquire the lock, find the next entry to purge, remove it from the hash list, then release the lock before calling cancel_work_sync() and dropping the hash_entry reference. Repeat until no more entries require purging.

Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: batman-adv: mcast: fix use-after-free in orig_node RCU release batadv_mcast_purge_orig() rCVE-2026-64096 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: batman-adv: mcast: fix use-after-free in orig_node RCU release batadv_mcast_purge_orig() removes entries from RCU-protected hlists but does not wait for an RCU grace period before returning. Concurrent RCU readers may still accesses references to those entries at the point of removal. RCU-protected readers trying to operate on entries like orig->mcast_want_all_ipv6_node will then access already freed memory. Fix this by moving batadv_mcast_purge_orig() to batadv_orig_node_release(), just before the call_rcu() invocation. This ensures RCU readers that were active at purge time have drained before the orig_node memory is reclaimed.

Jul 16, 2026The Cache Purger: Authorization bypassCVE-2026-15350 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 4.3
The The Cache Purger plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass in all versions up to, and including, 2.3.20. This is due to the plugin not properly verifying that a user is authorized to perform an action. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to permanently truncate the plugin's cache-purge audit log (wp-content/purge.log), destroying the entire cache-purge audit history. The tcp_log_purge nonce is rendered in the admin bar on frontend pages accessible to all authenticated users including subscribers, meaning any authenticated user possesses the nonce required to trigger the deletion.

Jun 24, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sctp: purge outqueue on stale COOKIE-ECHO handling sctp_stream_update() is only invoked whCVE-2026-52924 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sctp: purge outqueue on stale COOKIE-ECHO handling sctp_stream_update() is only invoked when the association is moved into COOKIE_WAIT during association setup/reconfiguration. In this path, the outbound stream scheduler state (stream->out_curr) is expected to be clean, since no user data should have been transmitted yet unless the state machine has already partially progressed. However, a corner case exists in sctp_sf_do_5_2_6_stale(): when a Stale Cookie ERROR is received, the association is rolled back from COOKIE_ECHOED to COOKIE_WAIT. In this scenario, user data may already have been queued and even bundled with the COOKIE-ECHO chunk. During the rollback, sctp_stream_update() frees the old stream table and installs a new one, but it does not invalidate stream->out_curr. As a result, out_curr may still point to a freed sctp_stream_out entry from the previous stream state. Later, SCTP scheduler dequeue paths (FCFS, RR, PRIO, etc.) rely on stream->out_curr->ext, which can lead to use-after-free once the old stream state has been released via sctp_stream_free(). This results in crashes such as (reported by Y

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: batman-adv: bla: only purge non-released claims When batadv_bla_purge_claims() goes through the list of claims, it is only traversing the hash list with an rcu_read_lock(). Due to a potential parallel batadv_claim_put(), it can happen that it encounters a claim which was actually in the process of being released+freed by batadv_claim_release(). In this case, backbone_gw is set to NULL before the delayed RCU kfree is started. Calling batadv_bla_claim_get_backbone_gw() is then no longer allowed because it would cause a NULL-ptr derefence. To avoid this, only claims with a valid reference counter must be purged. All others are already taken care of.

Apr 2, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tls: Purge async_hold in tls_decrypt_async_wait() The async_hold queue pins encrypted inpuCVE-2026-23414 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tls: Purge async_hold in tls_decrypt_async_wait() The async_hold queue pins encrypted input skbs while the AEAD engine references their scatterlist data. Once tls_decrypt_async_wait() returns, every AEAD operation has completed and the engine no longer references those skbs, so they can be freed unconditionally. A subsequent patch adds batch async decryption to tls_sw_read_sock(), introducing a new call site that must drain pending AEAD operations and release held skbs. Move __skb_queue_purge(&ctx->async_hold) into tls_decrypt_async_wait() so the purge is centralized and every caller -- recvmsg's drain path, the -EBUSY fallback in tls_do_decryption(), and the new read_sock batch path -- releases held skbs on synchronization without each site managing the purge independently. This fixes a leak when tls_strp_msg_hold() fails part-way through, after having added some cloned skbs to the async_hold queue. tls_decrypt_sg() will then call tls_decrypt_async_wait() to process all pending decrypts, and drop back to synchronous mode, but tls_sw_recvmsg() only flushes the async_hold queue when one record has been processed

Mar 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: purge error queues in socket destructors When TX timestamping is enabled via SOCVE-2026-23299 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: purge error queues in socket destructors When TX timestamping is enabled via SO_TIMESTAMPING, SKBs may be queued into sk_error_queue and will stay there until consumed. If userspace never gets to read the timestamps, or if the controller is removed unexpectedly, these SKBs will leak. Fix by adding skb_queue_purge() calls for sk_error_queue in affected bluetooth destructors. RFCOMM does not currently use sk_error_queue.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: stream: purge sk_error_queue in sk_stream_kill_queues() Changheon Lee reported TCP socket leaks, with a nice repro. It seems we leak TCP sockets with the following sequence: 1) SOF_TIMESTAMPING_TX_ACK is enabled on the socket. Each ACK will cook an skb put in error queue, from __skb_tstamp_tx(). __skb_tstamp_tx() is using skb_clone(), unless SOF_TIMESTAMPING_OPT_TSONLY was also requested. 2) If the application is also using MSG_ZEROCOPY, then we put in the error queue cloned skbs that had a struct ubuf_info attached to them. Whenever an struct ubuf_info is allocated, sock_zerocopy_alloc() does a sock_hold(). As long as the cloned skbs are still in sk_error_queue, socket refcount is kept elevated. 3) Application closes the socket, while error queue is not empty. Since tcp_close() no longer purges the socket error queue, we might end up with a TCP socket with at least one skb in error queue keeping the socket alive forever. This bug can be (ab)used to consume all kernel memory and freeze the host. We need to purge the error queue, with proper synchronization against concurrent

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: Purge vif txq in ieee80211_do_stop() After ieee80211_do_stop() SKB from vif's txq could still be processed. Indeed another concurrent vif schedule_and_wake_txq call could cause those packets to be dequeued (see ieee80211_handle_wake_tx_queue()) without checking the sdata current state. Because vif.drv_priv is now cleared in this function, this could lead to driver crash. For example in ath12k, ahvif is store in vif.drv_priv. Thus if ath12k_mac_op_tx() is called after ieee80211_do_stop(), ahvif->ah can be NULL, leading the ath12k_warn(ahvif->ah,...) call in this function to trigger the NULL deref below. In Cloudera Navigator Key Trustee KMS 5.12 and 5.13, incorrect default ACL values allow remote access to purge and undelete API calls on encryption zone keys. The Navigator Key Trustee KMS includes 2 API calls in addition to those in Apache Hadoop KMS: purge and undelete. The KMS ACL values for these commands are keytrustee.kms.acl.PURGE and keytrustee.kms.acl.UNDELETE respectively. The default value for the ACLs in Key Trustee KMS 5.12.0 and 5.13.0 is "*" which allows anyone with knowledge of the name of an encryption zone key and network access to the Key Trustee KMS to make those calls against known encryption zone keys. This can result in the recovery of a previously deleted, but not purged, key (undelete) or the deletion of a key in active use (purge) resulting in loss of access to encrypted HDFS data.
