net_icmpv6_send_error() in subsys/net/ip/icmpv6.c implemented only one of the three RFC 4443 section 2.4 suppression rules (do not answer an ICMPv6 error with an ICMPv6 error). It did not check whether the triggering packet's source address identifies a single node (rule e.6) or whether the packet was sent to a multicast destination (rule e.3, whose only exceptions are Packet Too Big and Parameter Problem Code 2). Of the five call sites, only the port-unreachable path in subsys/net/ip/connection.c carried an equivalent guard of its own; the extension-header, unknown-next-header and fragmentation paths in subsys/net/ip/ipv6.c and subsys/net/ip/ipv6_fragment.c had none. An unauthenticated attacker with access to the same link can exploit this in two ways. Sending a single IPv6 packet to the link-local all-nodes group ff02::1 carrying an unrecognized next-header value, with the source address spoofed to a chosen victim, causes every Zephyr node on the link to emit an ICMPv6 Parameter Problem message to that victim — a reflector with an amplification factor equal to the number of nodes. Alternatively, sending a unicast packet whose source address is a multicast address causes the node

Sep 3, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_tables_offload: suppress WARN_ON_ONCE for ENOMEM in abort path In nft_flow_rCVE-2026-80744 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_tables_offload: suppress WARN_ON_ONCE for ENOMEM in abort path In nft_flow_rule_offload_abort(), WARN_ON_ONCE(err) is triggered on every error during rollback, including -ENOMEM. Memory allocation failures are expected under low-memory conditions and do not indicate a kernel bug. Trace for example: nft_flow_offload_chain() // FLOW_BLOCK_BIND nft_flow_block_chain() nft_chain_offload_cmd() nft_block_offload_cmd() ->ndo_setup_tc() nsim_setup_tc() flow_block_cb_setup_simple() flow_block_cb_alloc() // fails to -ENOMEM The warning was reproduced on the 5.10 stable kernel under memory pressure via fault injection, but the underlying bug exists in mainline as well, as demonstrated by the ENOMEM trace above. The following splat was triggered during nf_tables transaction processing: WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 8567 at net/netfilter/nf_tables_offload.c:532 nft_flow_rule_offload_abort net/netfilter/nf_tables_offload.c:532 [inline] WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 8567 at net/netfilter/nf_tables_offload.c:532 nft_flow_rule_offload_commit+0x971/0xcd0 net/netfilter/nf_tables_offlo

Aug 21, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ipv6: clear suppressed fib6 rule result fib6_rule_suppress() drops a suppressed routeCVE-2026-74581 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ipv6: clear suppressed fib6 rule result fib6_rule_suppress() drops a suppressed route with ip6_rt_put_flags(), but leaves res->rt6 pointing at the released rt6_info. If no later rule supplies a replacement, fib6_rule_lookup() still sees res.rt6 and returns that stale dst to its caller. A suppressing rule can therefore leak a released route back to rt6_lookup(), and the next put hits rcuref_put_slowpath() from dst_release(). Clear res->rt6 when suppressing the route so suppressed lookups fall through to the null dst instead of reusing the released one.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ACPI: CPPC: Suppress UBSAN warning caused by field misuse The definition of reg->access_width changes depending on the reg->space_id type. Type ACPI_ADR_SPACE_PLATFORM_COMM uses access_width to indicate the PCC region, which can result in a UBSAN if the value is greater than 4. For example: UBSAN: shift-out-of-bounds in drivers/acpi/cppc_acpi.c:1090:9 shift exponent 32 is too large for 32-bit type 'int' CPU: 61 UID: 0 PID: 1220 Comm: (udev-worker) Not tainted 7.0.10-201.fc44.aarch64 #1 PREEMPT(lazy) Hardware name: To be filled by O.E.M. 7-Zip for Windows through 26.01 fails to preserve the Mark-of-the-Web when extracting a crafted RAR5 archive, because its guard that suppresses an archive-supplied Zone.Identifier stream matches the exact name 'Zone.Identifier' while a RAR5 STM record named ':Zone.Identifier:$DATA' is not matched and NTFS canonicalizes it to the same stream, overwriting the propagated Internet-zone marker with ZoneId=0. A second STM record named '::$DATA' overwrites the extracted file's default data stream, letting an attacker defeat SmartScreen/MotW warnings and spoof file content.

Jun 6, 2026MapPress Maps for: Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled KeyCVE-2026-8839 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 5.3
The MapPress Maps for WordPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key in all versions up to, and including, 2.96.6. This is due to missing ownership verification in the REST API routes registered via `Mappress_Api::rest_api_init()`, where the GET `/wp-json/mapp/v1/maps/{mapid}` endpoint uses `'permission_callback' => '__return_true'` and the write endpoints (POST update, DELETE, PATCH mutate, POST clone, POST empty_trash) only check the generic `edit_posts` capability without confirming that the requester owns the targeted map — a gap that is not compensated at the model layer, as `Mappress_Map::get()`, `save()`, `delete()`, `mutate()`, and `empty_trash()` all operate on any caller-supplied map ID without an ownership check. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to read sensitive map data — including POI titles, addresses, coordinates, and body content — for any map on the site by enumerating map IDs, and for authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to modify, delete, trash/restore, or clone any map regardless of its author.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: reset: gpio: suppress bind attributes in sysfs This is a special device that's created dynamically and is supposed to stay in memory forever. We also currently don't have a devlink between it and the actual reset consumer. Suppress sysfs bind attributes so that user-space can't unbind the device because - as of now - it will cause a use-after-free splat from any user that puts the reset control handle.

Apr 22, 2026The dd utility in uutils coreutils suppresses errors during file truncation operations by unconditionally calling Result::ok() on truncation attempts.CVE-2026-35344 · Other software · Uutils · reported by security@ubuntu.comLow 3.3
The dd utility in uutils coreutils suppresses errors during file truncation operations by unconditionally calling Result::ok() on truncation attempts. While intended to mimic GNU behavior for special files like /dev/null, the uutils implementation also hides failures on regular files and directories caused by full disks or read-only file systems. This can lead to silent data corruption in backup or migration scripts, as the utility may report a successful operation even when the destination file contains old or garbage data.

Jun 18, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: dsa: felix: suppress non-changes to the tagging protocol The way in which dsa_tree_chCVE-2022-50063 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: dsa: felix: suppress non-changes to the tagging protocol The way in which dsa_tree_change_tag_proto() works is that when dsa_tree_notify() fails, it doesn't know whether the operation failed mid way in a multi-switch tree, or it failed for a single-switch tree. So even though drivers need to fail cleanly in ds->ops->change_tag_protocol(), DSA will still call dsa_tree_notify() again, to restore the old tag protocol for potential switches in the tree where the change did succeeed (before failing for others). This means for the felix driver that if we report an error in felix_change_tag_protocol(), we'll get another call where proto_ops == old_proto_ops. If we proceed to act upon that, we may do unexpected things. For example, we will call dsa_tag_8021q_register() twice in a row, without any dsa_tag_8021q_unregister() in between. Then we will actually call dsa_tag_8021q_unregister() via old_proto_ops->teardown, which (if it manages to run at all, after walking through corrupted data structures) will leave the ports inoperational anyway. The bug can be readily reproduced if we force an error while in tag_8021q

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gtp: Suppress list corruption splat in gtp_net_exit_batch_rtnl(). Brad Spengler reported the list_del() corruption splat in gtp_net_exit_batch_rtnl(). [0] Commit eb28fd76c0a0 ("gtp: Destroy device along with udp socket's netns dismantle.") added the for_each_netdev() loop in gtp_net_exit_batch_rtnl() to destroy devices in each netns as done in geneve and ip tunnels. However, this could trigger ->dellink() twice for the same device during ->exit_batch_rtnl(). Say we have two netns A & B and gtp device B that resides in netns B but whose UDP socket is in netns A. 1. cleanup_net() processes netns A and then B. 2. gtp_net_exit_batch_rtnl() finds the device B while iterating netns A's gn->gtp_dev_list and calls ->dellink(). [ device B is not yet unlinked from netns B as unregister_netdevice_many() has not been called. ] 3. gtp_net_exit_batch_rtnl() finds the device B while iterating netns B's for_each_netdev() and calls ->dellink(). gtp_dellink() cleans up the device's hash table, unlinks the dev from gn->gtp_dev_list, and calls unregister_netdevice_queue(). Basically, calling gtp_dellin

May 24, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: fix memory leak in fib6_rule_suppress The kernel leaks memory when a `fib` rule is pCVE-2021-47546 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: fix memory leak in fib6_rule_suppress The kernel leaks memory when a `fib` rule is present in IPv6 nftables firewall rules and a suppress_prefix rule is present in the IPv6 routing rules (used by certain tools such as wg-quick). In such scenarios, every incoming packet will leak an allocation in `ip6_dst_cache` slab cache. After some hours of `bpftrace`-ing and source code reading, I tracked down the issue to ca7a03c41753 ("ipv6: do not free rt if FIB_LOOKUP_NOREF is set on suppress rule"). The problem with that change is that the generic `args->flags` always have `FIB_LOOKUP_NOREF` set[1][2] but the IPv6-specific flag `RT6_LOOKUP_F_DST_NOREF` might not be, leading to `fib6_rule_suppress` not decreasing the refcount when needed. How to reproduce: - Add the following nftables rule to a prerouting chain: meta nfproto ipv6 fib saddr . mark . iif oif missing drop This can be done with: sudo nft create table inet test sudo nft create chain inet test test_chain '{ type filter hook prerouting priority filter + 10; policy accept; }' sudo nft add rule inet test test_chain meta nfproto ipv6
