  • Oct 15, 2026Incomplete List of Disallowed Inputs (CWE-184) in the dangerous-extension confirmation of the archive object viewer (peach.pas, grid_obj_open) in PeaZip 10.5.0 CVE-2026-104024 · Other software · PeaZip · reported by 4daa8cea-433a-44bd-9456-53b127fc289aMedium 4.6

Incomplete List of Disallowed Inputs (CWE-184) in the dangerous-extension confirmation of the archive object viewer (peach.pas, grid_obj_open) in PeaZip 10.5.0 through 11.2.0 on Windows allows an attacker who convinces a victim to open an entry of a crafted archive to execute a program, or an arbitrary command, with no confirmation dialog. The prompt (Do you want to run this file?) is gated by SECEXTCONST, a hard-coded list of seven extensions (exe cmd msi bat ps1 vbs reg); the check is an exact string comparison of the entry extension against that list, so it answers only whether the extension is one of the seven and never whether the shell will execute the file. Shell-executable and scripting-host types that Windows runs through ShellExecuteW are absent from the list, among them .url and .lnk. An archived Windows Internet Shortcut (.url) whose URL line is attacker-controlled is launched with no prompt, while the byte-identical content in an entry named .bat does raise the warning in the same session. A .lnk entry raises the ceiling from launching a program to running a command line, because a Windows shortcut carries arguments: a proof-of-concept shortcut targeting cmd.exe with a

Path Traversal (CWE-22) in the execute_obj function of the archive object viewer (peach.pas) in PeaZip 11.2.0 and earlier on Windows allows an attacker who convinces a victim to preview an entry of a crafted archive via the "Preview with... -> Associated application" action (Shift+Ctrl+O) to execute an arbitrary program already present on the victim's system, with no warning dialog. The function validates only outname (PeaZip's own temporary directory) with checkfiledirname, while the string actually executed is the concatenation outname+tempstring; tempstring is taken verbatim from the archive entry name (StringGridList.Cells[12,...]) and is never validated. checkfiledirname (list_utils.pas) rejects control and reserved characters in the file name but performs no ".." path-containment check, so an entry named ../../../../Windows/System32/calc.exe escapes the extraction directory and is passed to cp_open -> ShellExecuteW; the extracting backend (7-Zip) strips the traversal while the opener does not. In addition, the SECEXTCONST dangerous-extension confirmation prompt is implemented only in the double-click handler (grid_obj_open) and not on this preview route, so an executable insi

  • Oct 1, 2026Out-of-bounds Write (CWE-787) in the PEA archive extraction routine (pea.pas, unpea_procedure) of the first-party pea component in PeaZip 11.2.0 and earlier allCVE-2026-102514 · Other software · PeaZip · reported by 4daa8cea-433a-44bd-9456-53b127fc289aHigh 8.4

Out-of-bounds Write (CWE-787) in the PEA archive extraction routine (pea.pas, unpea_procedure) of the first-party pea component in PeaZip 11.2.0 and earlier allows an attacker who convinces a victim to open or extract a crafted .pea archive to execute arbitrary code as the user running PeaZip. While decompressing a PCOMPRESS1 stream, the 32-bit compressed-block-size field of the first block (compsize) is read directly from the archive and used without validation as the length of a blockread into the fixed-size global buffers wbuf1/wbuf2 (1,114,112 bytes) and as the bound of the subsequent copy loop. The existing check "compsize > WBUFSIZE" is applied only to the size of each following block, so the first block escapes it; the same unvalidated value is also used to index wbuf1[compsize], an out-of-bounds read at an attacker-chosen offset. The copy loop additionally copies the requested length instead of the number of bytes actually read, and terminates on equality rather than on an upper bound. Because the project is built without range checking and no archive password, integrity tag or non-default configuration is required, the overflow overwrites adjacent global data; code executi

  • Apr 15, 2025In PeaZip through 10.4.0, there is a Mark-of-the-Web Bypass Vulnerability.CVE-2025-33026 · Other software · PeaZip · reported by MITREMedium 6.1

In PeaZip through 10.4.0, there is a Mark-of-the-Web Bypass Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows attackers to bypass the Mark-of-the-Web protection mechanism on affected installations of PeaZip. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the handling of archived files. When extracting files from a crafted archive that bears the Mark-of-the-Web, PeaZip does not propagate the Mark-of-the-Web to the extracted files. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current user. NOTE: this is disputed because Mark-of-the-Web propagation can increase risk via security-warning habituation, and because the intended control sphere for file-origin metadata (e.g., HostUrl in Zone.Identifier) may be narrower than that for reading the file's content.

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
