Oct 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: autofs: ignore notification errors from a replaced pipe autofs_notify_daemon() takes a refCVE-2026-99181 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: autofs: ignore notification errors from a replaced pipe autofs_notify_daemon() takes a reference to the current notification pipe under wq_mutex, then drops the mutex before writing the request. The write can block while the daemon enters catatonic mode and installs a replacement pipe. If the old pipe's reader is then closed, the delayed write returns -EPIPE and the generic error path enters catatonic mode again. That transition acts on the current superblock state, closes the replacement pipe, and releases the new daemon generation's wait queues. Only enter catatonic mode when the pipe which failed is still the current pipe. Factor the already-locked transition so the identity check and state change are atomic with respect to another replacement. This was reproduced on v7.3-rc5-337-gff47652a4b66c in a local QEMU guest. An unprivileged UID 65534 lookup filled the old packet pipe before a normal CATATONIC/SETPIPEFD restart. On the unmodified kernel, the new pipe received HUP and both a pending victim lookup and a later lookup failed with ENOENT in two out of two fresh-mount runs. With this change, the new pipe

Oct 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fsnotify: prevent mark additions during connector teardown fsnotify_destroy_marks() keeps CVE-2026-99175 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fsnotify: prevent mark additions during connector teardown fsnotify_destroy_marks() keeps a reference to its current mark while it drops conn->lock to destroy the mark. This stabilizes the forward-walk cursor, but does not prevent a new mark from being inserted before it. For example, an inotify watch re-added after IN_IGNORED sorts before the old, detached mark for the same group. The walk can miss the replacement and then detach the entire connector from the object. The replacement is still on its group's marks_list and, for inotify, in the watch IDR. The group mutex no longer protects the connector's object from disappearing. An unprivileged fdinfo read racing the final detach can consequently call igrab(NULL): BUG: KASAN: null-ptr-deref in igrab+0x24/0x100 Write of size 4 at addr 0000000000000148 Call Trace: igrab+0x24/0x100 inotify_show_fdinfo+0x1dc/0x5e0 seq_show+0x397/0x690 Set a DESTROYING flag under conn->lock before starting the walk, and reject new marks on that connector with -ENOENT. Oct 23, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: namespace: queue a mount only once for mount notifications mnt_notify_add() puts a mount oCVE-2026-98991 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: namespace: queue a mount only once for mount notifications mnt_notify_add() puts a mount on notify_list. It doesn't check whether the mount is on the list already. That's fine as long as every mount is queued at most once per namespace_sem hold. It isn't. propagate_umount() moves a surviving overmount off a stack of mounts that are going away and queues it as moved. shrink_submounts() and mark_mounts_for_expiry() call umount_tree() for several mounts under a single namespace_sem hold. So the second umount_tree() can take down exactly the mount the first one reparented, reparent it once more and so end up queueing it a second time. The second list_add_tail() cuts the mounts queued in between out of the list while the head still points at the last of them. notify_mnt_list() then only visits that one mount and the others are freed after the grace period with notify_list still pointing at them. Every later mount operation on the host walks freed memory: BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in __list_add_valid_or_report Read of size 8 at addr ffff8881003d57e0 by task notify_dq/162 __list_add_valid_or_report+0x15c

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: namespace: remove the fsnotify marks of a mount namespace in process context mnt_ns_release() drops the last passive reference of a mount namespace and removes its fanotify marks via fsnotify_mntns_delete(). That takes the mutex of every group with a mark on the namespace and the spinlock of the connector. Fine from process context. But mnt_ns_tree_remove() hands the reference the namespace was allocated with to call_rcu() and so the marks are removed from the RCU softirq: BUG: sleeping function called from invalid context at kernel/locking/mutex.c:623 in_atomic(): 1, irqs_disabled(): 0, non_block: 0, pid: 0, name: swapper/3 __mutex_lock+0x113/0x24b0 fsnotify_destroy_marks+0x11b/0x3d0 mnt_ns_release_rcu+0x57/0xa0 rcu_core+0x6b6/0x1e40 and lockdep complains about the connector lock being taken from softirq context. A fanotify group with a FAN_MARK_MNTNS mark on the mount namespace of another task is all that's needed. Root in a user namespace can do that for a mount namespace it owns. Oct 23, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: devlink: fix devlink_rel reference leak when notify work is pending devlink_rel_nested_in_CVE-2026-98953 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: devlink: fix devlink_rel reference leak when notify work is pending devlink_rel_nested_in_notify_work_schedule() takes a reference on the devlink_rel for the notify work and then queues the work, ignoring the return value of schedule_delayed_work(). If the work is already pending, nothing new is queued, the work runs only once and drops only one reference, so the extra one is leaked together with the devlink_rel and its index in devlink_rels. This is easy to hit. devl_register() of a nested instance queues the work, and if the instance is unregistered before the work has run, devlink_rel_put() queues it again while it is still pending. The work also keeps rescheduling itself for as long as the parent devlink lock cannot be taken, which widens the window. Registering and unregistering a nested devlink instance 100 times while holding the parent lock leaks all 100 devlink_rel objects. The reschedule path in devlink_rel_nested_in_notify_work() has the same problem: if the work was queued again while it was running, the reference it holds is never dropped. Drop the reference in both places when the work was alread

Oct 19, 2026Missing authorization in the Sieve notify action (6.2.22 through 6.3.6) and in the mail-rule Reply action (6.0.0 through 6.3.6) of Progressive Robot hMailServerCVE-2026-107568 · Other software · Progressive Robot Ltd · reported by cve@gitlab.comMedium 6.5
Missing authorization in the Sieve notify action (6.2.22 through 6.3.6) and in the mail-rule Reply action (6.0.0 through 6.3.6) of Progressive Robot hMailServer allows an authenticated user to send mail through the server as any address. A Sieve notify sends a notification message, and its :from tag names the sender; the server set the notification's From header to that :from as the script wrote it, without checking that the address belongs to the account - the check that the Sieve vacation action applies to its own :from, and that the server applies to the sender of mail queued over COM or sent from the webmail. An account that can store a Sieve script (over ManageSieve, the REST API's self-service filter, or the administration interface) could therefore have the server send a notification from any address, on this server or anywhere; and where the claimed address is at a domain the server hosts with DKIM signing enabled, the server signed the notification with that domain's DKIM key, because it signs by the From header's domain, producing forged mail aligned to pass the domain's DMARC policy. The notify action and this behaviour were introduced in 6.2.22. In the mail-rule engine,

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: trigger: cancel reenable_work before freeing trigger iio_trigger_notify_done_atomic() defers ->reenable() into trig->reenable_work on the system workqueue, and the worker dereferences the owning trigger through container_of(). Nothing cancels this work before iio_trig_release() frees the trigger, so a worker armed by the last in-flight IRQ can outlive the free and touch freed memory. Cancel it at the top of iio_trig_release(), which every free path reaches through the device core's final put_device(). Found by an in-house static analysis tool.

Oct 1, 2026The SMBus driver API exposed smbus_smbalert_remove_cb() and smbus_host_notify_remove_cb() as Zephyr syscalls.CVE-2026-17053 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 4.4
The SMBus driver API exposed smbus_smbalert_remove_cb() and smbus_host_notify_remove_cb() as Zephyr syscalls. Their verifiers in drivers/smbus/smbus_handlers.c validated only the dev argument with K_SYSCALL_OBJ(dev, K_OBJ_DRIVER_SMBUS) and forwarded the caller-supplied struct smbus_callback *cb pointer into kernel-mode driver code without any K_SYSCALL_MEMORY_READ/K_SYSCALL_MEMORY_WRITE validation. A companion change in 2023 had already removed the matching smbus_smbalert_set_cb() / smbus_host_notify_set_cb() syscalls for this reason, but the two removal syscalls were left exposed. On a build with CONFIG_USERSPACE=y, CONFIG_SMBUS=y and a driver implementing the callback operations (drivers/smbus/intel_pch_smbus.c with CONFIG_SMBUS_INTEL_PCH_SMBALERT/CONFIG_SMBUS_INTEL_PCH_HOST_NOTIFY, or drivers/smbus/smbus_stm32.c with CONFIG_SMBUS_STM32_SMBALERT), any user-mode thread that has been granted the SMBus device object can invoke these syscalls with an arbitrary pointer. The value reaches smbus_callback_remove() in drivers/smbus/smbus_utils.h, which uses it as a node identity against the kernel's sys_slist_t of registered callbacks. The consequence is that an unprivileged thread can

Sep 17, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/surface: acpi-notify: Check ACPI companion before use Since every platform driverCVE-2026-93114 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/surface: acpi-notify: Check ACPI companion before use Since every platform driver can be forced to match a device that doesn't match its list of device IDs because of device_match_driver_override(), platform drivers that rely on the existence of a device's ACPI companion object should verify its presence. san_probe() dereferences the result of ACPI_COMPANION() when installing the GSBUS address space handler, so force-binding the driver to a device without an ACPI companion leads to a NULL pointer dereference. The dereference was introduced when the probe function was switched from ACPI_HANDLE() to ACPI_COMPANION(). Check the ACPI companion against NULL and return -ENODEV when it is missing, like commit e4865a56d013 ("ACPI: driver: Check ACPI_COMPANION() against NULL during probe") does for the core ACPI platform drivers.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dax: read holder_ops once in dax_holder_notify_failure() dax_holder_notify_failure() reads dax_dev->holder_ops twice without READ_ONCE() -- once for the NULL check and once for the indirect notify_failure() call. A concurrent fs_put_dax() can clear holder_ops between the two reads, so the check can observe a non-NULL pointer while the call dereferences NULL. (kill_dax() also clears holder_ops, but only after synchronize_srcu(), so it cannot race a reader that is inside dax_read_lock(); fs_put_dax() does no such synchronization.) Fetch holder_ops once into a local with READ_ONCE() so the NULL check and the indirect call observe the same value.

Sep 16, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mtd: mtdoops: free page bitmap when the backing MTD is removed mtdoops_notify_add() allocaCVE-2026-89953 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mtd: mtdoops: free page bitmap when the backing MTD is removed mtdoops_notify_add() allocates oops_page_used when the configured MTD device is registered. mtdoops_notify_remove() detaches from that device but leaves the bitmap allocated. If the same MTD device is later registered again, the add path allocates a new bitmap and overwrites the old pointer, leaking one vmalloc allocation per remove/add cycle. This is only visible when the backing MTD device can disappear and be registered again while mtdoops remains loaded, so the usual static MTD case does not expose it. Free the bitmap after unregistering the dumper and flushing the pending workers, then clear the pointer and page count before a later attach can allocate fresh state. Clearing the pointer also keeps the module exit path from freeing the same bitmap a second time after a remove event.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: v4l2-async: avoid deleting unlinked ASC entry on link error v4l2_async_match_notify() creates ancillary media links before adding asc->asc_subdev_entry to sd->asc_list. If ancillary link creation fails, the function jumps to err_call_unbind while asc_subdev_entry has not been linked yet. Async connections are zero-allocated, so the list entry still has NULL next and prev pointers on this path. Calling list_del() on it can therefore dereference NULL instead of returning the original link creation error. Do not delete asc_subdev_entry from err_call_unbind. There is no list insertion to undo on this path; the bound callback and sub-device registration are the operations that need to be rolled back.

The lookup key st->si_opaque.so_id is allocated cyclically (guessable) and the embedded clientid is the fixed per-net nn->s2s_cp_cl_id, so any authenticated NFSv4.2 client could cancel and free another client's copy-notify stateid. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: initialize copy-notify stateid before publishing it nfsd4_copy_notify() finished initializing the cpntf state after nfs4_alloc_init_cpntf_state() had already linked it into the s2s_cp_stateids IDR and the parent's sc_cp_list, with cs_count == 1 (the membership reference) and none held for the caller. A racing OFFLOAD_CANCEL (crafted cl_id == nn->s2s_cp_cl_id plus the guessable so_id) could reach manage_cpntf_state() and free the entry, turning the caller's subsequent cpn_cnr_stateid read and cp_p_stateid/cp_p_clid writes into use-after-free. The owning clientid was also only recorded after publication, so it could not gate an ownership check in that window. Record cp_p_stateid and cp_p_clid inside nfs4_alloc_init_cpntf_state() before nfs4_init_cp_state() publishes the entry, and return it with an extra reference. The caller reads the stateid under that reference and drops it with nfs4_put_cpntf_state(); on a late error the laundromat reaps the entry.

Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: close shrinker/GC/fsnotify vs per-net shutdown race in filecache The shrinker, GC woCVE-2026-89667 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.1
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: close shrinker/GC/fsnotify vs per-net shutdown race in filecache The shrinker, GC worker, and fsnotify/lease callbacks can unhash an nfsd_file from the rhashtable and then call nfsd_file_dispose_list_delayed() to move it to the per-net dispose list. If nfsd_file_cache_shutdown_net() runs concurrently, its rhashtable walk misses the already-unhashed file, and its drain of the per-net dispose list can run before the file has been queued. The file then sits on the per-net list with no thread to drain it, leaking both the file and its associated state. The GC worker and shrinker already hold nfsd_gc_lock while walking the LRU, but in the original code they release it before calling nfsd_file_dispose_list_delayed(). The fsnotify/lease path (nfsd_file_close_inode) has no synchronization at all. Fix this by: 1. Widening nfsd_gc_lock in both nfsd_file_gc() and nfsd_file_lru_scan() to cover the nfsd_file_dispose_list_delayed() call. 2. Wrapping nfsd_file_close_inode() in nfsd_gc_lock so that all three callers of nfsd_file_dispose_list_delayed() hold the lock. 3. Adding a spin_lock/unlock(nfsd_

Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: revoke copy-notify stateids before dropping their reference Copy-notify stateids livCVE-2026-89663 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: revoke copy-notify stateids before dropping their reference Copy-notify stateids live in the s2s_cp_stateids IDR and on their parent stid's sc_cp_list, pinned by a single membership reference. _free_cpntf_state_locked() only unlinks an entry once its refcount reaches zero, so any revoke path that runs while a concurrent find_cpntf_state()/manage_cpntf_state() holder has elevated cs_count drops the reference without unlinking, leaving the entry discoverable with its membership reference already consumed. A second revoke or a laundromat tick then frees it while the reader still holds the pointer -- a KASAN-detectable use-after-free at the reader's nfs4_put_cpntf_state(). This affected all three revoke paths: - The parent-stid drain (nfs4_free_cpntf_statelist()) repeatedly called _free_cpntf_state_locked() on the first list entry; a holder that had bumped cs_count made it return early, so the next iteration re-decremented and burned the holder's reference. - OFFLOAD_CANCEL (manage_cpntf_state()) and laundromat expiry likewise used _free_cpntf_state_locked() and could drop 2->1 without un

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: audit: avoid dropping live tree ref on fsnotify rule autoremove audit_del_rule() is used for both netlink deletion templates and internal fsnotify autoremove. The former passes a parsed template which owns a temporary tree reference; the latter passes the installed entry itself. The unconditional audit_put_tree() at the end of audit_del_rule() assumes the template case. For mixed AUDIT_DIR plus AUDIT_EXE rules, an fsnotify autoremove event therefore drops the installed rule's live tree reference. Repeating this across rules sharing the same tree can free the tree while another rule still references it, and a later autoremove dereferences the freed pathname while comparing rules. Move the temporary-tree put to audit_rule_change(), the caller that owns deletion templates. Keep it in the AUDIT_DEL_RULE cleanup so both successful deletion and -ENOENT still release the parser-owned tree. [PM: dropped unnecessary comment for line length reasons]

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fanotify: fix use-after-free of file range info fsnotify_pre_content() builds its file_range on the triggering task's stack. fanotify_alloc_perm_event() saves a pointer to range.pos in the heap-allocated permission event so copy_range_info_to_user() can report the offset later. The event reader can set the event state to FAN_EVENT_REPORTED and then sleep while preparing the file descriptor. If a signal interrupts the triggering task at that point, fanotify_get_response() changes the state to FAN_EVENT_CANCELED and returns. This unwinds the file_range stack frame while the reader still owns the event. The reader then dereferences pevent->ppos and copies the stale stack value to userspace. KASAN reported: BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in fanotify_read+0x293e/0x2970 Read of size 8 at addr ffff88811434fc50 by task fanotify_inotif/95 Call Trace: fanotify_read+0x293e/0x2970 vfs_read+0x177/0xa20 ksys_read+0xf7/0x1c0 do_syscall_64+0xf9/0x540 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f Store the range position directly in the permission event and use FANOTIFY_NO_RANGE when range information is unavailab

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fsnotify: Fix stale object mask after concurrent mark updates When a mark gets a new event bit, fanotify and inotify may avoid recalculating the object mask if the cached aggregate already contains that bit. This is racy with a recalculation triggered by a concurrent update to another mark on the same connector. The concurrent scan can read the mark before the new bit is added, while the updater reads the old aggregate before that scan publishes its result. The updater then skips recalculation and the scan publishes a mask without the bit, leaving the object mask stale after both updates complete. This can be reproduced with two fanotify groups watching the same inode: one thread removes FAN_MODIFY from one existing mark while another thread adds FAN_MODIFY to the other mark. After both fanotify_mark() calls return, writes can fail to produce FAN_MODIFY for the group whose mark now contains the bit. This was reproduced on an unmodified v6.12.95 kernel. The equivalent inotify interleaving loses IN_MODIFY events. For normal fanotify additions, recalculate whenever the raw mark mask changes. The normal mask is no

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: power: supply: qcom_battmgr: fix use-after-free qcom_battmgr_pdr_notify() queues enable_work when the PMIC GLINK service comes up, and the worker recovers battmgr through container_of() to issue firmware requests. The PMIC GLINK client stays on the client list until its devres release action runs, so a PDR notification can keep queueing the work, and a pending or running worker can access battmgr after devres frees it. Make enable_work device-managed with devm_work_autocancel(), registered before the PMIC GLINK client is allocated. The devres cleanup then releases the client first, so no further notification can queue the work, and cancels the work before battmgr is freed. This issue was found by an in-house static analysis tool.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommufd: Avoid locking internal accesses during unmap iommufd_access_notify_unmap() skips internal accesses because they do not have an external unmap callback to invoke. However, the current test calls iommufd_lock_obj() before checking whether the access is internal. If iommufd_lock_obj() succeeds, the loop then sees the internal access and continues, bypassing the matching iommufd_put_object() used by the normal unmap path. This leaks the object reference taken by iommufd_lock_obj(). Check for internal accesses first so skipped entries are never locked.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: FCP: Use a private URB for the notification endpoint fcp_init_notify() used mixer->urb, which snd_usb_mixer_status_create() allocates for the optional UAC2 status interrupt endpoint and mixer.c kills, resubmits and frees. On a device with that endpoint, fcp_init_notify()'s "already set up" early return fires on the status URB and returns success without doing anything. No FCP notification URB is submitted, and cmd_done is left zeroed because it is initialised past that early return and nowhere else. fcp_init() then issues init1_opcode and wait_for_completion_timeout() would crash adding to the zeroed wait.head. fcp_cleanup_urb() would also kill and free mixer.c's status URB. Use a separate URB in fcp_data, and initialise cmd_done in fcp_init_private() where fcp_data is allocated. fcp_init_notify() is reached again after suspend via fcp_reinit(), and the URB kill path in fcp_notify() completes cmd_done, leaving a stale count that would satisfy the next command's wait before the device ACKs. Use reinit_completion() to clear it.

The WNC-M14A2A LTE-M modem driver mishandles unsolicited %NOTIFYEV: events in on_cmd_socknotifyev() (drivers/modem/vendor_standalone/wncm14a2a.c). The response line is linearized into a fixed 40-byte stack buffer via net_buf_linearize(), which caps the copy at 39 bytes and returns out_len <= 39. The two quote-delimiter scanning loops, however, were bounded by len — the full CR/LF-delimited frame length returned by net_buf_findcrlf() — rather than by out_len. When a %NOTIFYEV: line longer than 39 bytes contains no " within the linearized region, the loop indices p1/p2 walk past value[39] and read adjacent stack memory until a stray quote byte is found or the index reaches len. The over-read string is then passed to strncmp()/atoi()/LOG_*, and if a quote byte is found out of bounds the subsequent value[p2] = '\0' performs a single-NUL out-of-bounds stack write at an attacker-influenced offset. The %NOTIFYEV: payload carries network-derived content (LTIME network time, SIB1 base-station system information, CSPS/RRCSTATE), so a rogue cellular base station, a malicious or compromised modem module, or RF manipulation that induces an over-long notify line reaches the defect without any

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: isotp: use unconditional synchronize_rcu() in isotp_release() isotp_notify() unregisters the (RCU) CAN filters via can_rx_unregister() and clears so->bound without waiting for a grace period. isotp_release() uses so->bound to decide whether it needs to call synchronize_rcu() before cancelling so->rxtimer, so when NETDEV_UNREGISTER runs first it skips that synchronize_rcu() and can cancel the timer while an in-flight isotp_rcv() is still executing and about to re-arm it via isotp_send_fc(), leading to a use-after-free timer callback on the freed socket. sakisho-bot remarked a problem with rtnl_lock held in isotp_notify(), therefore make isotp_release() always call synchronize_rcu() before cancelling the timers, regardless of so->bound. This still closes the original race (isotp_notify() clearing so->bound without waiting for in-flight isotp_rcv() callers before isotp_release() cancels the RX timer) without adding any RCU wait to the netdevice notifier path.

When mgmt_frame_len is below that, the subtraction wraps as an unsigned value to a huge length. The memcpy then runs far past the kzalloc'd buffer. A malicious or malfunctioning AP can make the frame short during the external SAE auth exchange, so this is a remotely triggered heap overflow. Reject frames shorter than the management header offset before the copy.

In OpenStack Designate before 22.0.2, the mDNS handler performs pool-blind lookups when resolving record queries and NOTIFY requests. When two zones with the same name exist across different pools, the lookup fails with a deterministic error, causing the handler to return REFUSED for all DNS queries through that path. The _handle_notify path is exploitable via a single unauthenticated UDP packet. This is independently reachable through the cross-tenant zone overlap described in a different recent CVE, and also affects legitimate same-tenant cross-pool configurations. BIND9 views do not mitigate this issue as mDNS is a shared service upstream of any view configuration.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: cfg80211: use wiphy work for socket owner autodisconnect nl80211_netlink_notify() walks the cfg80211 wireless device list when a NETLINK_GENERIC socket is released. If the socket owns a connection, the notifier queues the embedded wdev->disconnect_wk work item. That work is a plain work_struct today. NETDEV_GOING_DOWN cancels it, but a NETLINK_URELEASE notifier that already observed conn_owner_nlportid can queue it after that cancel returns. _cfg80211_unregister_wdev() then removes the wdev from the list and waits for RCU readers, but synchronize_net() does not drain work queued by such a reader. Make the autodisconnect work a wiphy_work instead. The callback already needs the wiphy mutex, and wiphy_work runs under that mutex. This lets teardown cancel pending autodisconnect work while holding the mutex, without a cancel_work_sync() vs. worker locking concern. Also cancel the wiphy work after list_del_rcu() and synchronize_net(). Any NETLINK_URELEASE notifier that had already reached the wdev list has then either queued the work and it is removed, or can no longer find the wdev.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mt76: mt7925: drop TXRX_NOTIFY on non-mmio buses PKT_TYPE_TXRX_NOTIFY is an mmio-only event, but mt7925_rx_check() and mt7925_queue_rx_skb() dispatch it to mt7925_mac_tx_free() on every bus. mt7925_mac_tx_free() cleans the DMA tx queues with mt76_queue_tx_cleanup(), which calls queue_ops->tx_cleanup(). Only the mmio queue ops implement that callback; on USB it is NULL, so a TXRX_NOTIFY there calls a NULL pointer in the RX worker: BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000000 RIP: 0010:0x0 Call Trace: mt7925_mac_tx_free+0x58/0x350 [mt7925_common] mt7925_rx_check+0xe2/0x130 [mt7925_common] mt76u_rx_worker+0x1b9/0x620 [mt76_usb] Drop the event on non-mmio buses via mt76_is_mmio(), as in commit 5683e1488aa9 ("wifi: mt76: connac: do not check WED status for non-mmio devices").

Aug 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/x86: intel-hid: Protect ACPI notify handler against recursion Since commit e2ffcdCVE-2026-64603 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/x86: intel-hid: Protect ACPI notify handler against recursion Since commit e2ffcda16290 ("ACPI: OSL: Allow Notify () handlers to run on all CPUs") ACPI notify handlers like the intel-hid notify_handler() may run on multiple CPU cores racing with themselves. On convertibles and detachables (matched by DMI chassis-type 31 and 32 in dmi_auto_add_switch[]) the SW_TABLET_MODE input device is registered lazily from notify_handler() on the first tablet-mode event, via intel_hid_switches_setup(). When two such events race on different CPUs both can pass the !priv->switches check and register the priv->switches input device twice, resulting in a duplicate sysfs entry and a subsequent NULL pointer dereference. This is the same class of bug fixed by commit e075c3b13a0a ("platform/x86: intel-vbtn: Protect ACPI notify handler against recursion") for the sibling intel-vbtn driver. Protect intel-hid notify_handler() from racing with itself with a mutex to fix this.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: gadget: udc: bdc: free IRQ and drain func_wake_notify before teardown The Broadcom BDC UDC driver registers its IRQ handler with devm_request_irq() in bdc_udc_init(), so the IRQ is released by devm only after bdc_remove() returns. devm releases resources in reverse LIFO order, but bdc_remove() runs bdc_udc_exit() and bdc_hw_exit() -> bdc_mem_free() manually before returning: bdc_udc_exit() tears down individual endpoint objects via bdc_free_ep(), while bdc_hw_exit() -> bdc_mem_free() frees and NULLs the DMA-coherent status-report ring (bdc->srr.sr_bds) and kfree()s bdc->bdc_ep_array. Both happen while the IRQ handler (bdc_udc_interrupt, requested with IRQF_SHARED) remains deliverable in the window up to the post-remove devm free_irq(). On receipt of a shared interrupt in that window, bdc_udc_interrupt() dereferences bdc->srr.sr_bds[bdc->srr.dqp_index] (NULL or freed DMA) and dispatches sr_handler callbacks that index into bdc_ep_array, causing a NULL-deref or use-after-free. The same window affects the delayed_work bdc->func_wake_notify, which is armed from the IRQ handler via bdc_sr_uspc() -> handle_lin

Aug 1, 2026FreeRDP before 3.29.0 contains client-side heap use-after-free vulnerabilities in the async update message proxy for RAIL WINDOW_STATE_ORDER and NOTIFY_ICON_STACVE-2026-67300 · Other software · FreeRDP · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.7
FreeRDP before 3.29.0 contains client-side heap use-after-free vulnerabilities in the async update message proxy for RAIL WINDOW_STATE_ORDER and NOTIFY_ICON_STATE_ORDER when AsyncUpdate is enabled. When a malicious or compromised RDP server sends crafted update orders, the message proxy shallow-copies structures containing nested parser-owned pointers (e.g., titleInfo.string, windowRects, visibilityRects, icon buffers). The parser frees those nested buffers after the callback returns, so the queued async message later dispatches stale pointers, potentially causing memory corruption or a client crash.

Jul 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: resolve SWN tcon from live registrations cifs_swn_notify() looks up a witnessCVE-2026-64401 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: resolve SWN tcon from live registrations cifs_swn_notify() looks up a witness registration by id under cifs_swnreg_idr_mutex, drops the mutex, and then uses the registration's cached tcon pointer. That pointer is not a lifetime reference, and it is not a stable representative once cifs_get_swn_reg() lets multiple tcons for the same net/share name share one registration id. A same-share second mount can keep the cifs_swn_reg alive after the first tcon unregisters and is freed. The registration then still points at the freed first tcon, so taking tc_lock or incrementing tc_count through swnreg->tcon only moves the use-after-free earlier. Taking tc_lock while holding cifs_swnreg_idr_mutex also violates the documented CIFS lock order. Fix this by making the registration store only the stable witness identity: id, net name, share name, and notify flags. When a notify arrives, copy that identity under cifs_swnreg_idr_mutex, drop the mutex, then find and pin a live witness tcon that currently matches the net/share pair under the normal cifs_tcp_ses_lock -> tc_lock order. The notification path uses th

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix change notify replay double-free A response-bearing attempt can return a replayable error and free its response buffer. If SMB2_notify_init() fails before the next send, cleanup retains the previous buffer type and frees that response again. Reset response bookkeeping before each attempt to prevent the stale free.

Jul 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fuse: avoid 32-bit prune notification count wrap FUSE_NOTIFY_PRUNE validates the nodeid paCVE-2026-64267 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fuse: avoid 32-bit prune notification count wrap FUSE_NOTIFY_PRUNE validates the nodeid payload length with: size - sizeof(outarg) != outarg.count * sizeof(u64) On 32-bit kernels, size_t is also 32 bits, so the daemon-controlled count multiplication can wrap. A prune notification with count 0x20000000 and no nodeid payload passes the check, enters the copy loop, and asks the device copy path to read nodeids that are not present in the userspace write buffer. In QEMU this reaches the fuse_copy_fill() BUG_ON(!err) path. Validate the payload length with array_size() instead. That accepts exactly the same valid messages, but avoids wrapping arithmetic before the copy loop consumes the count.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: require net admin for CIFS SWN netlink CIFS_GENL_CMD_SWN_NOTIFY is the userspace witness-notify command. The intended sender is the cifs.witness helper, but the generic-netlink operation currently has no capability flag, so any local process can send RESOURCE_CHANGE or CLIENT_MOVE notifications to the in-kernel witness handler. The same family exposes CIFS_GENL_MCGRP_SWN without multicast-group capability flags. Register messages sent to that group include the witness registration id and, for NTLM-authenticated mounts, the username, domain, and password attributes copied from the CIFS session. An unprivileged local process should not be able to join that group and receive those messages. Require CAP_NET_ADMIN for incoming SWN_NOTIFY commands with GENL_ADMIN_PERM, and require CAP_NET_ADMIN over the network namespace for joining the SWN multicast group with GENL_MCAST_CAP_NET_ADMIN. The cifs.witness service runs with the privileges needed for both operations.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: octeontx2-af: validate body pcifunc in rvu_mbox_handler_rep_event_notify rvu_mbox_handler_rep_event_notify() in drivers/net/ethernet/marvell/ octeontx2/af/rvu_rep.c queues a sender-controlled REP_EVENT_NOTIFY request body verbatim, and rvu_rep_up_notify() then forwards event->pcifunc (the nested body field, distinct from the AF-normalised header pcifunc) into rvu_get_pfvf(), rvu_get_pf() and the AF->PF mailbox device index without any bounds check. A VF attached to a PF that has been put into switchdev representor mode reaches this path: the VF mailbox handler otx2_pfvf_mbox_handler() forwards every message id including MBOX_MSG_REP_EVENT_NOTIFY to AF without an allowlist, and the AF dispatcher rewrites only msg->pcifunc, leaving struct rep_event::pcifunc attacker-controlled. The sibling rvu_mbox_handler_esw_cfg() refuses requests whose header pcifunc is not rvu->rep_pcifunc; this handler has no equivalent gate. An out-of-range body pcifunc selects an &rvu->pf[]/&rvu->hwvf[] element past the allocated array and, for RVU_EVENT_MAC_ADDR_CHANGE, turns into a six-byte attacker-chosen OOB ether_addr_copy() target i
