  • Sep 30, 2026A flaw was found in SoupServer (libsoup).CVE-2026-103399 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 5.3

A flaw was found in SoupServer (libsoup). When an HTTP/1.x client sends a request with Expect: 100-continue and a request body, and SoupServer returns an early final (non-1xx) response before the body is read, the server neither drains the declared body bytes nor closes the connection. On a keep-alive connection, those leftover bytes are interpreted as a subsequent HTTP request. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can place a complete HTTP request in the body and cause SoupServer to process that smuggled request, leading to unintended request handling.

  • Sep 29, 2026A flaw was found in libsoup.CVE-2026-102555 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatHigh 8.2

A flaw was found in libsoup. The soup_uri_decode_data_uri() function incorrectly treated base64 data-URI payloads as NUL-terminated strings when calling g_base64_decode_inplace(). If the percent-decoded payload contained embedded NUL bytes, the decoded length could remain uninitialized and be used as the size of the returned GBytes. This can lead to an out-of-bounds read or application crash when processing a crafted data URI.

  • Sep 4, 2026A flaw was found in libsoup.CVE-2026-85534 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 5.9

A flaw was found in libsoup. When a client sends an HTTP/2 request body from a non-pollable input stream, the library can buffer more data than the current flow-control window later allows. A malicious HTTP/2 server can shrink SETTINGS_INITIAL_WINDOW_SIZE while that buffered read is still in progress. The client then copies the full buffer into a smaller DATA callback without a runtime bounds check, which can abort the process or fail the HTTP/2 session.

  • Aug 25, 2026An algorithmic complexity flaw exists in libsoup's HTTP Range header processing that persists after the CVE-2025-32907 fix.CVE-2026-77680 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 5.3

An algorithmic complexity flaw exists in libsoup's HTTP Range header processing that persists after the CVE-2025-32907 fix. CVE-2025-32907 addressed memory amplification when a client repeated the same range many times in a single Range header. Commit 9bb92f7a corrected merge correctness in soup_message_headers_get_ranges_internal() in libsoup/soup-message-headers.c, but the coalescing loop still removes merged ranges using g_array_remove_index() for each coalesced element. Because GArray is contiguous, each mid-array removal performs an O(N) memmove. When many identical satisfiable ranges are supplied (for example bytes=0-0 repeated thousands of times), the loop performs O(N²) work coalescing them into a single range. The vulnerable path is reachable server-side from handle_partial_get() in libsoup/server/http1/soup-server-message-io-http1.c when a SoupServer handler returns HTTP 200 with a non-empty body. No authentication is required. The number of ranges is bounded only by the maximum request header size (~100 KiB), allowing roughly 25,000 ranges per request. Reporter measurements on libsoup HEAD containing the CVE-2025-32907 fix show ~90 ms single-core CPU per such request a

  • Aug 20, 2026A flaw was found in libsoup's SoupServer HTTP Range header processing.CVE-2026-77014 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 5.3

A flaw was found in libsoup's SoupServer HTTP Range header processing. The sort_ranges() comparator in soup-message-headers.c truncates a 64-bit subtraction result to 32-bit int, flipping the sign for range offsets differing by more than INT_MAX. This causes silent omission of requested byte ranges from HTTP 206 Partial Content responses on resources larger than approximately 2 GB.

  • Jul 14, 2026An out-of-bounds read vulnerability was found in libsoup's multipart processing subsystem.CVE-2026-15714 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 6.5

An out-of-bounds read vulnerability was found in libsoup's multipart processing subsystem. The flaw exists in the soup_multipart_input_stream_read_headers() function inside soup-multipart-input-stream.c, which does not adequately restrict or validate the size of incoming multipart boundary strings. When processing a crafted HTTP response containing a malformed or oversized boundary parameter, the internal stream reader reads past the allocated buffer bounds. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can exploit this behavior to cause a service denial (DoS) through application failure or potentially read fragments of unauthorized memory metadata.

  • Jul 14, 2026A vulnerability was found in libsoup's HTTP/2 protocol implementation.CVE-2026-15713 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 5.9

A vulnerability was found in libsoup's HTTP/2 protocol implementation. The library fails to correctly release memory context blocks under specific stream termination conditions, such as when an HTTP/2 connection encounters window exhaustion or explicit stream resets. A remote, unauthenticated attacker acting as a malicious network peer can trick the connection engine into allocating stream states that are subsequently leaked during cleanup. Over a sustained period, this flaw allows the remote attacker to consume the system's heap allocations incrementally, triggering a denial of service (DoS) through an ultimate Out-of-Memory (OOM) application crash.

  • Jul 14, 2026A vulnerability was found in libsoup's WebSocket frame parsing implementation.CVE-2026-15711 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatHigh 7.5

A vulnerability was found in libsoup's WebSocket frame parsing implementation. The library fails to validate length rules specified in RFC 6455 §5.5, which mandates that all WebSocket control frames (e.g., PING, PONG, CLOSE) contain a payload of 125 bytes or less. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can exploit this by sending a non-compliant, oversized control frame. Because the parser handles this protocol violation improperly instead of throwing an immediate connection termination error, it triggers a internal processing crash, resulting in a remote denial of service (DoS) for applications utilizing libsoup WebSockets.

  • Jul 14, 2026A flaw was found in libsoup's WebSocket implementation when using the permessage-deflate extension.CVE-2026-15709 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatHigh 7.5

A flaw was found in libsoup's WebSocket implementation when using the permessage-deflate extension. The extension's decompression loop (inflate()) processes data in chunks without enforcing an upper boundary limit on the output buffer size. While libsoup limits the incoming compressed frame size via max_incoming_payload_size, it fails to track or limit memory allocation during decompression. A separate check for decompressed size (max_total_message_size) exists but executes only after inflation is complete, and it is entirely disabled by default for client connections. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can exploit this by sending a small, highly compressed payload (a decompression bomb), causing unbounded memory allocation that triggers an Out-of-Memory (OOM) crash and a Denial of Service (DoS).

  • Jul 14, 2026A heap buffer over-read vulnerability was discovered in libsoup's (versions: libsoup 3.0 to 3.7.0) HTTP/2 connection tracking framework.CVE-2026-15712 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 5.9

A heap buffer over-read vulnerability was discovered in libsoup's (versions: libsoup 3.0 to 3.7.0) HTTP/2 connection tracking framework. When the library processes an HTTP/2 GOAWAY frame, it improperly handles the "Additional Debug Data" payload by assuming the data stream is a safely NUL-terminated C-string. Because the parser lacks strict length-boundary verification before reading this data, a remote, unauthenticated attacker can intentionally send a malformed GOAWAY frame missing the appropriate null delimiter. This causes the library to read past the end of the allocated buffer, triggering an application crash that results in a denial of service (DoS), or potentially exposing fragments of memory contents.

  • Dec 11, 2025A flaw in libsoup’s HTTP header handling allows multiple Host: headers in a request and returns the last occurrence for server-side processing.CVE-2025-14523 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatHigh 8.2

A flaw in libsoup’s HTTP header handling allows multiple Host: headers in a request and returns the last occurrence for server-side processing. Common front proxies often honor the first Host: header, so this mismatch can cause vhost confusion where a proxy routes a request to one backend but the backend interprets it as destined for another host. This discrepancy enables request-smuggling style attacks, cache poisoning, or bypassing host-based access controls when an attacker supplies duplicate Host headers.

  • Oct 23, 2025A flaw was found in the asynchronous message queue handling of the libsoup library, widely used by GNOME and WebKit-based applications to manage HTTP/2 communicCVE-2025-12105 · Other software · GNOME · reported by Red HatHigh 7.5

A flaw was found in the asynchronous message queue handling of the libsoup library, widely used by GNOME and WebKit-based applications to manage HTTP/2 communications. When network operations are aborted at specific timing intervals, an internal message queue item may be freed twice due to missing state synchronization. This leads to a use-after-free memory access, potentially crashing the affected application. Attackers could exploit this behavior remotely by triggering specific HTTP/2 read and cancel sequences, resulting in a denial-of-service condition.

  • Sep 3, 2025A flaw was found in libsoup’s caching mechanism, SoupCache, where the HTTP Vary header is ignored when evaluating cached responses.CVE-2025-9901 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 5.9

A flaw was found in libsoup’s caching mechanism, SoupCache, where the HTTP Vary header is ignored when evaluating cached responses. This header ensures that responses vary appropriately based on request headers such as language or authentication. Without this check, cached content can be incorrectly reused across different requests, potentially exposing sensitive user information. While the issue is unlikely to affect everyday desktop use, it could result in confidentiality breaches in proxy or multi-user environments.

  • May 19, 2025A flaw was found in the cookie parsing logic of the libsoup HTTP library, used in GNOME applications and other software.CVE-2025-4945 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatLow 3.7

A flaw was found in the cookie parsing logic of the libsoup HTTP library, used in GNOME applications and other software. The vulnerability arises when processing the expiration date of cookies, where a specially crafted value can trigger an integer overflow. This may result in undefined behavior, allowing an attacker to bypass cookie expiration logic, causing persistent or unintended cookie behavior. The issue stems from improper validation of large integer inputs during date arithmetic operations within the cookie parsing routines.

  • May 19, 2025A flaw was found in the soup_multipart_new_from_message() function of the libsoup HTTP library, which is commonly used by GNOME and other applications to handleCVE-2025-4948 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatHigh 7.5

A flaw was found in the soup_multipart_new_from_message() function of the libsoup HTTP library, which is commonly used by GNOME and other applications to handle web communications. The issue occurs when the library processes specially crafted multipart messages. Due to improper validation, an internal calculation can go wrong, leading to an integer underflow. This can cause the program to access invalid memory and crash. As a result, any application or server using libsoup could be forced to exit unexpectedly, creating a denial-of-service (DoS) risk.

  • May 16, 2025A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in the libsoup HTTP client library.CVE-2025-4476 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 4.3

A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in the libsoup HTTP client library. This flaw can be triggered when a libsoup client receives a 401 (Unauthorized) HTTP response containing a specifically crafted domain parameter within the WWW-Authenticate header. Processing this malformed header can lead to a crash of the client application using libsoup. An attacker could exploit this by setting up a malicious HTTP server. If a user's application using the vulnerable libsoup library connects to this malicious server, it could result in a denial-of-service. Successful exploitation requires tricking a user's client application into connecting to the attacker's malicious server.

  • Apr 29, 2025A flaw was found in libsoup.CVE-2025-4035 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 4.3

A flaw was found in libsoup. When handling cookies, libsoup clients mistakenly allow cookies to be set for public suffix domains if the domain contains at least two components and includes an uppercase character. This bypasses public suffix protections and could allow a malicious website to set cookies for domains it does not own, potentially leading to integrity issues such as session fixation.
