  • Oct 5, 2026LibreOffice Calc can link a cell range to an external data source, and the link is saved in the document.CVE-2026-63277 · Other software · The Document Foundation · reported by security@documentfoundation.orgHigh 8.5

LibreOffice Calc can link a cell range to an external data source, and the link is saved in the document. A document could name a Java database driver for such a link to be loaded from a remote location, so opening the document could run Java code from that location. In fixed versions an entry in a Java class path has to be a file URL.

URLs could be constructed which expanded environment variable or INI file values, so potentially sensitive information could be exfiltrated to a remote server on opening a document containing such links. The check added for CVE-2024-12426 did not cover every place a document can supply a URL. XForms instance data and the Calc csv and sql data providers still reached the expansion. In fixed versions these places refuse URLs with internal schemes when the URL comes from the document.

LibreOffice can link to audio and video files from a document, and on Linux it plays them with GStreamer. A linked media file could be an HLS playlist that made GStreamer read the local files and remote URLs it listed while the document loaded, and their contents could end up in the document. In fixed versions LibreOffice does not follow playlists that name further resources, and linked media is under link update control.

LibreOffice Calc can link a cell range to an external data source, and the link is saved in the document. A link of the sql type could name a folder of local text files as a database, so opening a document could read a local text file into the sheet. In fixed versions only the csv, html and xml data providers are restored when a document is loaded.

LibreOffice Calc can link a cell range to an external csv data source, and the link is saved in the document. Such a link was fetched while the document loaded, so opening a document could read a local file into the sheet, or make a request to a host of the document's choosing. LibreOffice Calc can link a cell range to an external data source, and the link is saved in the document. Through such a link a document could open an embedded Firebird database that wrote a file to any location the user could write to. In fixed versions an embedded Firebird database can open or create files only inside its own private directory.

  • Sep 22, 2026LibreOffice can import PICT images, which may be embedded in documents.CVE-2026-63279 · Other software · The Document Foundation · reported by security@documentfoundation.orgMedium 5.4

LibreOffice can import PICT images, which may be embedded in documents. An out of bounds read existed when importing an image that uses a colour palette. The palette index held in the image data was used without being checked against the number of entries the palette has, so an index past the last entry read memory outside the palette. In fixed versions the palette index is limited to the entries present.

URLs could be constructed which expanded environment variable or INI file values, so potentially sensitive information could be exfiltrated to a remote server on opening a document containing such links. The check added for CVE-2024-12426 did not recognise every way of naming the package content provider, so a URL that named it differently still reached the expansion. • Sep 22, 2026LibreOffice converts CFF fonts to Type 1 when it subsets a font, which happens when a document is exported to PDF, and CFF fonts may be embedded in documents.CVE-2026-63276 · Other software · The Document Foundation · reported by security@documentfoundation.orgMedium 5.4

LibreOffice converts CFF fonts to Type 1 when it subsets a font, which happens when a document is exported to PDF, and CFF fonts may be embedded in documents. A stack buffer overflow existed in that conversion. The converted operators were written into a fixed size buffer with no check that they still fit, so a glyph emitting many operators wrote past the end of the buffer. In fixed versions the remaining capacity is tracked and the conversion stops when it is used up.

LibreOffice can read CFF fonts, which may be embedded in documents. A stack buffer overflow existed when reading the hints of a glyph. The number of hints was checked against the wrong bound, so a glyph declaring more hints than the array can hold wrote past its end. In fixed versions the hint count is checked against the capacity the array really has.

  • Sep 22, 2026LibreOffice Draw can import PDF documents.CVE-2026-63274 · Other software · The Document Foundation · reported by security@documentfoundation.orgMedium 5.4

LibreOffice Draw can import PDF documents. A heap buffer overflow existed when importing a stream object. The length of the stream was taken from the object's own dictionary and was not checked against the number of bytes actually present, so copying the stream read and wrote past the end of the buffer holding it. LibreOffice Draw can import PDF documents. A heap buffer overflow existed when importing an encrypted document. The length of the decryption key was taken from the document's own encryption dictionary and was used to fill a fixed size key buffer without being checked against it, so a length larger than that buffer wrote past its end. • Sep 22, 2026LibreOffice can import WMF graphics, which may be embedded in documents.CVE-2026-63272 · Other software · The Document Foundation · reported by security@documentfoundation.orgMedium 5.4

LibreOffice can import WMF graphics, which may be embedded in documents. A heap buffer overflow existed when importing a text record that carries its own character advance widths. The count of advance values and the length of the text were read separately from the file and were not required to agree, so drawing the text walked the advance array by character position and ran past its end when the array was the shorter of the two. In fixed versions an advance array shorter than its text is ignored.

  • Aug 27, 2026libreoffice-convert is a Node.js module for converting office documents to different formats.CVE-2026-54732 · Other software · elwerene · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

libreoffice-convert is a Node.js module for converting office documents to different formats. Prior to 1.8.2, index.js uses the caller-controlled options.fileName value in path.join(tempDir.name, fileName) without reducing it to a base name. A filename containing ../ can escape the temporary directory because path.basename() normalization is missing and write the supplied document buffer to an arbitrary path writable by the process, including an SSH authorized_keys file, a cron configuration, or a web root. This issue is fixed in version 1.8.2.

LibreOffice Calc can import tracked changes from a spreadsheet document. A heap buffer overflow existed when a document reused the same change identifier for two different kinds of change. The importer then treated one change object as a different, larger type and wrote past the end of its allocation. In fixed versions records with a duplicate identifier are rejected.

LibreOffice Calc compiles cell formulas when opening a spreadsheet. A heap buffer overflow existed when compiling a very long formula made up of many opening tokens. The array that tracks nesting depth was allocated one element too small for that worst case, so such a formula wrote one element past its end. In fixed versions the array is sized to hold the largest possible nesting.

LibreOffice can import presentations in the legacy binary PPT format. A stack buffer overflow existed when importing a colour-replacement record. Two fixed-size colour tables were filled from the file, but the write position was not reset between the two passes over the record, so a file whose combined colour counts exceeded the table size wrote past the end of the tables on the stack. • Jun 15, 2026LibreOffice can import documents in the OOXML format (DOCX).CVE-2026-6047 · Other software · The Document Foundation · reported by security@documentfoundation.orgMedium 5.4

LibreOffice can import documents in the OOXML format (DOCX). A heap buffer overflow existed when replaying deferred parser events for a text box element. A handler object was assumed to be of one type and written to at that type's field layout, but it could be a smaller object, so the write landed past the end of the allocation. In fixed versions the type is checked before the write.

LibreOffice can import EMF+ graphics, which may be embedded in documents. A heap buffer overflow existed when importing an EMF+ gradient brush. The number of gradient blend points was read from the file and used to compute an allocation size, but that multiplication could overflow, so a small buffer was allocated and then filled as if it were large, writing past its end. In fixed versions the blend-point count is checked against the data actually available before allocating.

  • Apr 15, 2025Collabora Online is a collaborative online office suite based on LibreOffice technology.CVE-2025-27791 · Other software · CollaboraOnline · reported by GitHubHigh 8.3

Collabora Online is a collaborative online office suite based on LibreOffice technology. In versions prior to 24.04.12.4, 23.05.19, and 22.05.25, there is a path traversal flaw in handling the CheckFileInfo BaseFileName field returned from WOPI servers. This allows for a file to be written anywhere the uid running Collabora Online can write, if such a response was supplied by a malicious WOPI server. By combining this flaw with a Time of Check, Time of Use DNS lookup issue with a WOPI server address under attacker control, it is possible to present such a response to be processed by a Collabora Online instance. This issue has been patched in versions 24.04.13.1, 23.05.19, and 22.05.25.

  • Mar 6, 2025Collabora Online is a collaborative online office suite based on LibreOffice.CVE-2025-24796 · Other software · CollaboraOnline · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

Collabora Online is a collaborative online office suite based on LibreOffice. Macro support is disabled by default in Collabora Online, but can be enabled by an administrator. Collabora Online typically hosts each document instance within a jail and is allowed to download content from locations controlled by the net.lok_allow configuration option, which by default include the private IP ranges to enable access to the local network. If enabled, macros were allowed run executable binaries. By combining an ability to host executables, typically in the local network, in an allowed accessible location, with a macro enabled Collabora Online, it was then possible to install arbitrary binaries within the jail and execute them. These executables are restricted to the same jail file system and user as the document instance but can be used to bypass the additional limits on what network hosts are accessible and provide more flexibility as a platform for further attempts. This is issue is fixed in 24.04.12.4, 23.05.19, 22.05.25 and later macros.

  • Mar 11, 2024Collabora Online is a collaborative online office suite based on LibreOffice technology.CVE-2024-25114 · Other software · CollaboraOnline · reported by GitHubLow 2.6

Collabora Online is a collaborative online office suite based on LibreOffice technology. Each document in Collabora Online is opened by a separate "Kit" instance in a different "jail" with a unique directory "jailID" name. For security reasons, this directory name is randomly generated and should not be given out to the client. In affected versions of Collabora Online it is possible to use the CELL() function, with the "filename" argument, in the spreadsheet component to get a path which includes this JailID. The impact of this vulnerability in its own is low because it requires to be chained with another vulnerability. Users should upgrade to Collabora Online 23.05.9; Collabora Online 22.05.22; Collabora Online 21.11.10 or higher. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.

  • Dec 8, 2023Collabora Online is a collaborative online office suite based on LibreOffice technology.CVE-2023-49788 · Other software · CollaboraOnline · reported by GitHubHigh 7.2

Collabora Online is a collaborative online office suite based on LibreOffice technology. Unlike a standalone dedicated Collabora Online server, the Built-in CODE Server (richdocumentscode) is run without chroot sandboxing. Vulnerable versions of the richdocumentscode app can be susceptible to attack via modified client->server commands to overwrite files outside the sub directory the server has provided for the transient session. Files which can be accessed are limited to those that the server process has access to. The bug was fixed in Collabora Online - Built-in CODE Server (richdocumentscode) release 23.5.602. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.

  • May 25, 2023Improper access control in editor components of The Document Foundation LibreOffice allowed an attacker to craft a document that would cause external links to bCVE-2023-2255 · Other software · The Document Foundation · reported by security@documentfoundation.orgMedium 5.3

Improper access control in editor components of The Document Foundation LibreOffice allowed an attacker to craft a document that would cause external links to be loaded without prompt. In the affected versions of LibreOffice documents that used "floating frames" linked to external files, would load the contents of those frames without prompting the user for permission to do so. This was inconsistent with the treatment of other linked content in LibreOffice. This issue affects: The Document Foundation LibreOffice 7.4 versions prior to 7.4.7; 7.5 versions prior to 7.5.3.
