Aug 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libbpf: Reject non-exclusive metadata maps in the signed loader The loader verifies map->sCVE-2026-80675 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.1
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libbpf: Reject non-exclusive metadata maps in the signed loader The loader verifies map->sha against the metadata hash in its instructions. map->sha is calculated when BPF_OBJ_GET_INFO_BY_FD is called on the frozen map. While the map is frozen, the /signed loader/ must also ensure the map is exclusive, as, without exclusivity (which a hostile host could just omit when loading the loader), another BPF program with map access can mutate the contents afterwards, so the check passes on stale data. With the extra check as part of the signed loader, it now refuses to move on with map->sha validation if the host set it up wrongly.

May 20, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libbpf: Fix accessing BTF.ext core_relo header Update btf_ext_parse_info() to ensure the cCVE-2025-37939 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libbpf: Fix accessing BTF.ext core_relo header Update btf_ext_parse_info() to ensure the core_relo header is present before reading its fields. This avoids a potential buffer read overflow reported by the OSS Fuzz project.

Apr 7, 2025Buffer Overflow vulnerability in libbpf 1.5.0 allows a local attacker to execute arbitrary code via the bpf_object__init_prog` function of libbpf.CVE-2025-29481 · Other software · Libbpf Project · reported by MITREMedium 6.2
Buffer Overflow vulnerability in libbpf 1.5.0 allows a local attacker to execute arbitrary code via the bpf_object__init_prog` function of libbpf. This has been disputed by third parties who assert that "no one in their sane mind should be passing untrusted ELF files into libbpf while running under root."

Oct 21, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libbpf: Handle size overflow for ringbuf mmap The maximum size of ringbuf is 2GB on x86-64CVE-2022-49030 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libbpf: Handle size overflow for ringbuf mmap The maximum size of ringbuf is 2GB on x86-64 host, so 2 * max_entries will overflow u32 when mapping producer page and data pages. Only casting max_entries to size_t is not enough, because for 32-bits application on 64-bits kernel the size of read-only mmap region also could overflow size_t. So fixing it by casting the size of read-only mmap region into a __u64 and checking whether or not there will be overflow during mmap.

Jun 19, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libbpf: Prevent null-pointer dereference when prog to load has no BTF In bpf_objec_load_prCVE-2024-38574 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libbpf: Prevent null-pointer dereference when prog to load has no BTF In bpf_objec_load_prog(), there's no guarantee that obj->btf is non-NULL when passing it to btf__fd(), and this function does not perform any check before dereferencing its argument (as bpf_object__btf_fd() used to do). As a consequence, we get segmentation fault errors in bpftool (for example) when trying to load programs that come without BTF information. v2: Keep btf__fd() in the fix instead of reverting to bpf_object__btf_fd().

May 1, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libbpf: Use OPTS_SET() macro in bpf_xdp_query() When the feature_flags and xdp_zc_max_segsCVE-2024-27050 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libbpf: Use OPTS_SET() macro in bpf_xdp_query() When the feature_flags and xdp_zc_max_segs fields were added to the libbpf bpf_xdp_query_opts, the code writing them did not use the OPTS_SET() macro. This causes libbpf to write to those fields unconditionally, which means that programs compiled against an older version of libbpf (with a smaller size of the bpf_xdp_query_opts struct) will have its stack corrupted by libbpf writing out of bounds. The patch adding the feature_flags field has an early bail out if the feature_flags field is not part of the opts struct (via the OPTS_HAS) macro, but the patch adding xdp_zc_max_segs does not. For consistency, this fix just changes the assignments to both fields to use the OPTS_SET() macro.

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
