Dec 17, 2021This affects versions of the package unisharp/laravel-filemanager before 2.6.2.CVE-2021-23814 · Other software · Unisharp · reported by report@snyk.ioMedium 6.7
This affects versions of the package unisharp/laravel-filemanager before 2.6.2. The upload() function does not sufficiently validate the file type when uploading. An attacker may be able to reproduce the following steps: 1. Install a package with a web Laravel application. 2. Navigate to the Upload window 3. Upload an image file, then capture the request 4. Edit the request contents with a malicious file (webshell) 5. Enter the path of file uploaded on URL - Remote Code Execution **Note:** Prevention for bad extensions can be done by using a whitelist in the config file(lfm.php). Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
