  • Oct 13, 2026KeePassXC is a cross-platform community-driven port of the Windows application KeePass Password Safe.CVE-2026-69150 · Other software · keepassxreboot · reported by GitHubMedium 4.3

KeePassXC is a cross-platform community-driven port of the Windows application KeePass Password Safe. Prior to 2.8.0-beta1, KeePass1 / KDB legacy import retains raw Entry pointers in m_entryUuids after deleting metastream entries. When a crafted, unlockable .kdb file contains an earlier metastream entry followed by a KPX_CUSTOM_ICONS_4 metastream that references the earlier UUID, parseCustomIcons4() calls Entry::setIcon through the stale pointer, causing a heap use-after-free with a controlled write and a reliable process crash. This issue is fixed in version 2.8.0-beta1.

  • Sep 9, 2026KeePass versions 2.35 through 2.61.1 fail to validate KDBX header field sizes before memory allocation in the ReadHeaderField function.CVE-2026-86776 · Other software · KeePass · reported by VulnCheckMedium 4.6

KeePass versions 2.35 through 2.61.1 fail to validate KDBX header field sizes before memory allocation in the ReadHeaderField function. Attackers can craft a malicious KDBX file declaring excessive header field lengths to trigger allocation of gigabytes of memory, causing the application to consume resources and terminate.

  • Aug 17, 2026hashcat master branch builds after v7.1.2 contain a heap buffer overflow vulnerability in the KeePass AESKDF/KDBX v4 module (module 34301) that allows attackersCVE-2026-68765 · Other software · hashcat · reported by VulnCheckMedium 5.2

hashcat master branch builds after v7.1.2 contain a heap buffer overflow vulnerability in the KeePass AESKDF/KDBX v4 module (module 34301) that allows attackers to corrupt adjacent heap memory by supplying an oversized ninth hash field token. The module accepts up to 600 hex characters for the ninth token field but decodes it into a fixed 256-byte buffer with no length check, allowing a maximal input to write up to 44 bytes past the buffer boundary into adjacent esalt fields and heap chunk metadata, potentially enabling heap corruption or memory access violations.

  • Apr 10, 2026KeePassXC OpenSSL Configuration Uncontrolled Search Path Element Local Privilege Escalation Vulnerability.CVE-2026-4158 · Other software · KeePassXC · reported by zdi-disclosures@trendmicro.comHigh 7.3

KeePassXC OpenSSL Configuration Uncontrolled Search Path Element Local Privilege Escalation Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on affected installations of KeePassXC. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the configuration of OpenSSL. The product loads configuration from an unsecured location. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of KeePassXC when run by a target user on the system. Was ZDI-CAN-29156.

  • Jun 19, 2023In KeePassXC through 2.7.5, a local attacker can make changes to the Database security settings, including master password and second-factor authentication, witCVE-2023-35866 · Other software · Keepassxc · reported by MITREMedium 5.5

In KeePassXC through 2.7.5, a local attacker can make changes to the Database security settings, including master password and second-factor authentication, within an authenticated KeePassXC Database session, without the need to authenticate these changes by entering the password and/or second-factor authentication to confirm changes. NOTE: the vendor's position is "asking the user for their password prior to making any changes to the database settings adds no additional protection against a local attacker."

In KeePass 2.x before 2.54, it is possible to recover the cleartext master password from a memory dump, even when a workspace is locked or no longer running. The memory dump can be a KeePass process dump, swap file (pagefile.sys), hibernation file (hiberfil.sys), or RAM dump of the entire system. The first character cannot be recovered. In 2.54, there is different API usage and/or random string insertion for mitigation.

KeePass through 2.53 (in a default installation) allows an attacker, who has write access to the XML configuration file, to obtain the cleartext passwords by adding an export trigger. Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
