Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: airoha: npu: cancel wdt_work after releasing the WDT IRQ airoha_npu_remove() calls caCVE-2026-98496 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: airoha: npu: cancel wdt_work after releasing the WDT IRQ airoha_npu_remove() calls cancel_work_sync() on each core's wdt_work, but the watchdog IRQ that queues it is requested with devm_request_irq() and is freed only after .remove() returns. airoha_npu_wdt_handler() can therefore schedule_work() again once the cancel has returned. struct airoha_npu, which contains the work, is devm_kzalloc()'d and is freed in that same unwind, so the late work dereferences freed memory. Register the work with devm_work_autocancel() before devm_request_irq() and drop .remove(). Devres runs in reverse order, so the IRQ is freed before cancel_work_sync(), including when probe fails. A cancel left in .remove() cannot get that order. Initializing the work first also stops a pending watchdog interrupt from queuing an uninitialized work item. Probe currently calls INIT_WORK() only after devm_request_irq(). This issue was identified during our ongoing static-analysis research while reviewing kernel code.

Aug 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: airoha: fix foe_check_time allocation size foe_check_time is declared as u16 pointer CVE-2026-80617 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: airoha: fix foe_check_time allocation size foe_check_time is declared as u16 pointer but was allocated with only ppe_num_entries bytes instead of ppe_num_entries * sizeof(u16). When airoha_ppe_foe_verify_entry() is called with hash >= ppe_num_entries/2, it writes beyond the allocated buffer, causing heap buffer overflow and potential kernel crash.

Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: watchdog: airoha: Prevent division by zero when clock frequency is zero clk_get_rate() canCVE-2026-68356 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: watchdog: airoha: Prevent division by zero when clock frequency is zero clk_get_rate() can return 0 when the clock provider is not properly configured or the clock is unmanaged. The driver uses wdt_freq as a divisor directly in airoha_wdt_probe() to compute max_timeout and in airoha_wdt_get_timeleft() to compute the remaining time, which results in a division by zero. Add a check for wdt_freq == 0 in probe and return -EINVAL with dev_err_probe() to prevent the division by zero and provide a diagnostic message.

Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: airoha: Fix potential use-after-free in airoha_ppe_deinit() airoha_ppe_deinit() replaCVE-2026-68332 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: airoha: Fix potential use-after-free in airoha_ppe_deinit() airoha_ppe_deinit() replaces the NPU pointer with NULL via rcu_replace_pointer() but does not wait for existing RCU readers to exit before calling ppe_deinit() and airoha_npu_put(). This can cause a use-after-free if a reader in an RCU read-side critical section still holds a reference to the NPU when it is freed. The init path (airoha_ppe_init) already calls synchronize_rcu() after rcu_assign_pointer(), but the deinit path introduced in commit 6abcf751bc08 ("net: airoha: Fix schedule while atomic in airoha_ppe_deinit()") omitted the matching barrier when switching from rcu_read_lock()/rcu_dereference() to rcu_replace_pointer(). Add synchronize_rcu() before ppe_deinit() to ensure all existing RCU readers have completed before the NPU resources are released.

Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: airoha: Fix DMA direction for NPU mailbox buffer airoha_npu_send_msg() always maps thCVE-2026-68330 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: airoha: Fix DMA direction for NPU mailbox buffer airoha_npu_send_msg() always maps the mailbox buffer with DMA_TO_DEVICE, but some callers expect the NPU to write response data back into the same buffer: - airoha_npu_wlan_msg_get() (NPU_OP_GET): NPU writes response into the buffer, then the caller reads it via memcpy() - airoha_npu_ppe_stats_setup() (NPU_OP_SET): NPU writes back npu_stats_addr field in the response On non-cache-coherent architectures like EN7581 (Cortex-A53 without hardware cache coherency for NPU DMA), DMA_TO_DEVICE unmap is a no-op — it does not invalidate the CPU cache. If the NPU-written cache line is still present in the CPU cache when the caller reads the buffer, the CPU observes stale data instead of the NPU response. This is a timing-sensitive bug: small mailbox buffers (~24 bytes) typically fit in a single cache line and may survive in the cache until the caller reads them, producing silent data corruption rather than a crash. The bug is more likely to trigger when the caller reads the response immediately after dma_unmap_single() without intervening cache-evicting operations

Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: airoha: Do not read uninitialized fragment address in airoha_dev_xmit() The transmit CVE-2026-63857 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: airoha: Do not read uninitialized fragment address in airoha_dev_xmit() The transmit loop in airoha_dev_xmit() reads fragment address and length during its final iteration, when the loop index equals skb_shinfo(skb)->nr_frags, at which point the fragment data is uninitialized. While these values are never consumed, the read itself is unsafe and may trigger a page fault. Fix this by avoiding the fragment read on the last iteration. Additionally, move the skb pointer from the first to the last used packet descriptor, so that airoha_qdma_tx_napi_poll() defers freeing the skb until the final descriptor is processed.

Jul 1, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: airoha: Add NULL check for of_reserved_mem_lookup() in airoha_qdma_init_hfwd_queues() CVE-2026-53338 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: airoha: Add NULL check for of_reserved_mem_lookup() in airoha_qdma_init_hfwd_queues() of_reserved_mem_lookup() may return NULL if the reserved memory region referenced by the "memory-region" phandle is not found in the reserved memory table (e.g. due to a misconfigured DTS or a removed memory-region node). The current code dereferences the returned pointer without checking for NULL, leading to a kernel NULL pointer dereference at the following lines: dma_addr = rmem->base; // line 1156 num_desc = div_u64(rmem->size, buf_size); // line 1160 Add a NULL check after of_reserved_mem_lookup() and return -ENODEV if the lookup fails, which is consistent with the existing error handling for of_parse_phandle() failure in the same code block.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: airoha: Move ndesc initialization at end of airoha_qdma_init_rx_queue() If queue entry or DMA descriptor list allocation fails in airoha_qdma_init_rx_queue routine, airoha_qdma_cleanup() will trigger a NULL pointer dereference running netif_napi_del() for RX queue NAPIs since netif_napi_add() has never been executed to this particular RX NAPI. The issue is due to the early ndesc initialization in airoha_qdma_init_rx_queue() since airoha_qdma_cleanup() relies on ndesc value to check if the queue is properly initialized. Fix the issue moving ndesc initialization at end of airoha_qdma_init_tx routine. Move page_pool allocation after descriptor list allocation in order to avoid memory leaks if desc allocation fails.

Jun 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: airoha: Fix use-after-free in metadata dst teardown airoha_metadata_dst_free() runs mCVE-2026-53248 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: airoha: Fix use-after-free in metadata dst teardown airoha_metadata_dst_free() runs metadata_dst_free() which frees the metadata_dst with kfree() immediately, bypassing the RCU grace period. In the RX path, skb_dst_set_noref() sets a non-refcounted pointer from the skb to the metadata_dst. This function requires RCU read-side protection and the dst must remain valid until all RCU readers complete. Since metadata_dst_free() calls kfree() directly, an use-after-free can occur if any skb still holds a noref pointer to the dst when the driver tears it down. Replace metadata_dst_free() with dst_release() which properly goes through the refcount path: when the refcount drops to zero, it schedules the actual free via call_rcu_hurry(), ensuring all RCU readers have completed before the memory is freed.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: airoha: fix BQL imbalance in TX path Fix a possible BQL imbalance in airoha_dev_xmit(), where inflight packets are accounted only for the AIROHA_NUM_TX_RING netdev TX queues. The queue index is computed as: qid = skb_get_queue_mapping(skb) % ARRAY_SIZE(qdma->q_tx) txq = netdev_get_tx_queue(dev, qid); However, airoha_qdma_tx_napi_poll() accounts completions across all netdev TX queues (num_tx_queues), leading to inconsistent BQL accounting. Also reset all netdev TX queues in the ndo_stop callback.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: airoha: fix potential use-after-free in airoha_npu_get() np->name was being used after calling of_node_put(np), which releases the node and can lead to a use-after-free bug. Previously, of_node_put(np) was called unconditionally after of_find_device_by_node(np), which could result in a use-after-free if pdev is NULL. This patch moves of_node_put(np) after the error check to ensure the node is only released after both the error and success cases are handled appropriately, preventing potential resource issues.
