  • Oct 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pipe: preserve existing fasync readers on writer setup failure F_SETFL and FIOASYNC decideCVE-2026-99203 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pipe: preserve existing fasync readers on writer setup failure F_SETFL and FIOASYNC decide whether to invoke ->fasync() before pipe_fasync() takes pipe->mutex. Two enables of one O_RDWR FIFO can therefore both enter the callback. fasync_helper() allocates before checking for an existing entry. If the first enable installs both entries, a second enable can update the reader entry and then fail the allocation for the writer entry. The error path removes the pre-existing reader entry, clearing FASYNC while the writer entry remains registered. __fput() then skips ->fasync(), so a later pipe notification can dereference the freed file or its f_owner. An unprivileged memory-pressure reproducer triggers a KASAN slab-use-after-free in send_sigio() through this path. Keep the reader helper's result and undo the registration only if this call added it. The pipe mutex serializes changes to both lists, so a failed new registration still removes its reader, while a failed duplicate preserves the existing registrations and FASYNC. Successful duplicate enables continue to update fa_fd as before.

  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ipv6: keep room for the mac header in dst_dev_overhead() The seg6, ioam6 and rpl lwtuCVE-2026-98570 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ipv6: keep room for the mac header in dst_dev_overhead() The seg6, ioam6 and rpl lwtunnels size their skb_cow_head() request as the length they are about to push plus dst_dev_overhead(), then push the new headers and rebuild the mac header below them with skb_mac_header_rebuild(). That rebuild needs skb->mac_len of headroom, but dst_dev_overhead() leaves LL_RESERVED_SPACE() of the egress device, 16 bytes for plain Ethernet. Where the mac header is longer than that, as it is on ingress through a VLAN device with reorder_hdr off, the rebuild runs out of room: skb_set_mac_header(skb, -skb->mac_len) computes a negative offset, stores it unchecked in the u16 skb->mac_header, and the memmove that follows writes skb->mac_len bytes about 64 KB past skb->head. Forwarding plain ping6 traffic through such a device reproduces it on all five seg6 encapsulation modes and on the rpl and ioam6 inline paths; skb->mac_header comes back as 65534 on a 704-byte head. Return the larger of the two. The helper already returns skb->mac_len when it has no dst, so this only makes the other branch agree, and it covers every caller

  • Sep 17, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ACPI: processor: validate MADT IOAPIC entry bounds The IOAPIC hotplug lookup parses both MCVE-2026-92522 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.3

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ACPI: processor: validate MADT IOAPIC entry bounds The IOAPIC hotplug lookup parses both MADT and _MAT records directly. The MADT walk previously used a subtable's declared length to advance the cursor after only locating a generic header. The _MAT path likewise passed a generic header to the IOAPIC helper. Validate that a current record has a complete generic header, that its declared length is contained in the available record range, and that a typed IOAPIC record contains the full fixed IOAPIC body before reading its fields. Use the same relation for both MADT and _MAT provider paths.

  • Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommufd: Release current IOAS on xa_store() failure iommufd_take_all_iova_rwsem() takes anCVE-2026-89446 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommufd: Release current IOAS on xa_store() failure iommufd_take_all_iova_rwsem() takes an object reference and the iova_rwsem write lock before storing the IOAS in the temporary ioas_list xarray. If xa_store() fails, the current IOAS has not been inserted into ioas_list yet. iommufd_release_all_iova_rwsem() only unwinds IOAS objects already present in that xarray, so it cannot release the current IOAS. Release the current IOAS rwsem and object reference before unwinding the previously stored entries.

  • Sep 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/iommufd: Fix NULL pointer deref in iommufd_ioas_change_process when racing with iopt_CVE-2026-80817 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/iommufd: Fix NULL pointer deref in iommufd_ioas_change_process when racing with iopt_map_file_pages iommufd_ioas_change_process() iterates every IOAS area while only holding every IOAS iova_rwsem, so it assumes every area has a non-NULL pages pointer. That assumption can be false when it runs concurrently with iopt_map_file_pages(). iopt_map_pages() executes in two phases. • Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: ioam: fix type confusion of dst_entry IOAM uses a dummy dst_entry(null_dst) to mark CVE-2026-72429 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: ioam: fix type confusion of dst_entry IOAM uses a dummy dst_entry(null_dst) to mark that the destination should not be changed after the transformation. This dst is stored in the IOAM lwt state and may be passed to dst_cache_set_ip6(). However, the IPv6 dst cache path eventually calls rt6_get_cookie(), which treats the dst_entry as part of a struct rt6_info. Since the null_dst was embedded directly as a struct dst_entry in struct ioam6_lwt, this resulted in an invalid cast and rt6_get_cookie() reading fields from the wrong object. In practice, the wrong cookie is not used while dst->obsolete is zero, but rt6_get_cookie() may also access per-cpu value when rt->sernum is zero. In this case, rt->sernum aliases ioam6_lwt::cache::reset_ts, which can become zero, making this a potential invalid pointer access. Fix this by embedding a full struct rt6_info for the dummy IPv6 route and passing its dst member to the dst APIs.

  • Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: ioam: refresh hdr pointer before ioam6_event() Reported by Sashiko: In ipv6_hop_ioaCVE-2026-64132 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: ioam: refresh hdr pointer before ioam6_event() Reported by Sashiko: In ipv6_hop_ioam(), the hdr pointer is initialized to point into the skb's linear data buffer. Later, the code calls skb_ensure_writable(), which might reallocate the buffer: if (skb_ensure_writable(skb, optoff + 2 + hdr->opt_len)) goto drop; /* Trace pointer may have changed */ trace = (struct ioam6_trace_hdr *)(skb_network_header(skb) + optoff + sizeof(*hdr)); ioam6_fill_trace_data(skb, ns, trace, true); ioam6_event(IOAM6_EVENT_TRACE, dev_net(skb->dev), GFP_ATOMIC, (void *)trace, hdr->opt_len - 2); If the skb is cloned or lacks sufficient linear headroom, skb_ensure_writable() will invoke pskb_expand_head(), which reallocates the skb's data buffer and frees the old one, invalidating pointers to it. While the code recalculates the trace pointer immediately after the call to skb_ensure_writable(), it fails to recalculate the hdr pointer. This patch fixes the above by recalculating the hdr pointer before passing hdr->opt_len to ioam6_event(), so that we avoid any UaF.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: ioam: add NULL check for idev in ipv6_hop_ioam() Reported by Sashiko: The function ipv6_hop_ioam() accesses __in6_dev_get(skb->dev)->cnf.ioam6_enabled without validating the returned idev pointer. Because addrconf_ifdown() can concurrently clear dev->ip6_ptr via RCU, __in6_dev_get() can return NULL during interface teardown, which could cause a NULL pointer dereference when processing an IOAM Hop-by-Hop option. Let's add a check and use SKB_DROP_REASON_IPV6DISABLED accordingly.

  • May 8, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/ipv6: ioam6: prevent schema length wraparound in trace fill ioam6_fill_trace_data() stCVE-2026-43341 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/ipv6: ioam6: prevent schema length wraparound in trace fill ioam6_fill_trace_data() stores the schema contribution to the trace length in a u8. With bit 22 enabled and the largest schema payload, sclen becomes 1 + 1020 / 4, wraps from 256 to 0, and bypasses the remaining-space check. __ioam6_fill_trace_data() then positions the write cursor without reserving the schema area but still copies the 4-byte schema header and the full schema payload, overrunning the trace buffer. Keep sclen in an unsigned int so the remaining-space check and the write cursor calculation both see the full schema length.

  • May 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: ioam: fix heap buffer overflow in __ioam6_fill_trace_data() On the receive path, __iCVE-2026-43186 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: ioam: fix heap buffer overflow in __ioam6_fill_trace_data() On the receive path, __ioam6_fill_trace_data() uses trace->nodelen to decide how much data to write for each node. It trusts this field as-is from the incoming packet, with no consistency check against trace->type (the 24-bit field that tells which data items are present). A crafted packet can set nodelen=0 while setting type bits 0-21, causing the function to write ~100 bytes past the allocated region (into skb_shared_info), which corrupts adjacent heap memory and leads to a kernel panic. Add a shared helper ioam6_trace_compute_nodelen() in ioam6.c to derive the expected nodelen from the type field, and use it: - in ioam6_iptunnel.c (send path, existing validation) to replace the open-coded computation; - in exthdrs.c (receive path, ipv6_hop_ioam) to drop packets whose nodelen is inconsistent with the type field, before any data is written. Per RFC 9197, bits 12-21 are each short (4-octet) fields, so they are included in IOAM6_MASK_SHORT_FIELDS (changed from 0xff100000 to 0xff1ffc00).

  • May 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ioam6: fix OOB and missing lock When trace->type.bit6 is set: if (trace->type.biCVE-2026-43083 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.1

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ioam6: fix OOB and missing lock When trace->type.bit6 is set: if (trace->type.bit6) { ... queue = skb_get_tx_queue(dev, skb); qdisc = rcu_dereference(queue->qdisc); This code can lead to an out-of-bounds access of the dev->_tx[] array when is_input is true. In such a case, the packet is on the RX path and skb->queue_mapping contains the RX queue index of the ingress device. If the ingress device has more RX queues than the egress device (dev) has TX queues, skb_get_queue_mapping(skb) will exceed dev->num_tx_queues. Add a check to avoid this situation since skb_get_tx_queue() does not clamp the index. This issue has also revealed that per queue visibility cannot be accurate and will be replaced later as a new feature. While at it, add missing lock around qdisc_qstats_qlen_backlog(). The function __ioam6_fill_trace_data() is called from both softirq and process contexts, hence the use of spin_lock_bh() here.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ipv6: fix dst ref loops in rpl, seg6 and ioam6 lwtunnels Some lwtunnels have a dst cache for post-transformation dst. If the packet destination did not change we may end up recording a reference to the lwtunnel in its own cache, and the lwtunnel state will never be freed. Discovered by the ioam6.sh test, kmemleak was recently fixed to catch per-cpu memory leaks. I'm not sure if rpl and seg6 can actually hit this, but in principle I don't see why not.

The only place which might justify panic is the PIT/HPET timer_check() code which tries to figure out whether the timer interrupt is delivered through the IO/APIC. But that code does not require to handle interrupt allocation failures. If the interrupt cannot be allocated then timer delivery fails and it either panics due to that or falls back to legacy mode. Cure this by removing the panic wrapper around __add_pin_to_irq_node() and making mp_irqdomain_alloc() aware of the failure conditio
