  • Oct 28, 2026i18next-http-backend is a backend layer for i18next that loads translation resources in Node.js, browsers, and Deno.CVE-2026-118258 · Other software · i18next · reported by GitHubLow 3.7

i18next-http-backend is a backend layer for i18next that loads translation resources in Node.js, browsers, and Deno. Prior to 4.0.4, interpolateUrl inserts unencoded language and namespace values into loadPath or addPath templates without rejecting ampersand (&), equals (=), or semicolon (;) query separators. When a template places lng or ns in the query string and an attacker controls that value, the attacker can add or override parameters on browser or server-side translation requests, potentially exposing other namespaces or tenants or changing backend behavior through the application's network position and credentials. This vulnerability is the result of an incomplete fix for CVE-2026-41691. This issue is fixed in version 4.0.4.

  • Oct 28, 2026Vue I18n is the internationalization plugin for Vue.js.CVE-2026-118257 · Other software · intlify · reported by GitHubHigh 7.2

Vue I18n is the internationalization plugin for Vue.js. From 11.1.10 until 11.4.14 and from 12.0.0-alpha.4 until 12.0.0-alpha.5, sanitizeTranslatedHtml() escapes markup and event-handler text inside an iframe srcdoc value but leaves the srcdoc attribute active. Browsers decode the character references and parse the value as a same-origin nested HTML document, allowing attacker-controlled parameters or translation content placed in srcdoc to execute script when applications enable escapeParameter and render translations as HTML through v-html. Versions 9.14.5 and 10.0.8 are also affected and are no longer supported, while i18n-t rendering is not affected. This issue is fixed in versions 11.4.14 and 12.0.0-alpha.5.

  • Oct 28, 2026Vue I18n is the internationalization plugin for Vue.js.CVE-2026-118256 · Other software · intlify · reported by GitHubLow 2.1

Vue I18n is the internationalization plugin for Vue.js. From 9.0.0-beta.5 until 11.4.14 and 12.0.0-alpha.5, enabling escapeParameter, called escapeParameterHtml in the Legacy API, does not escape named interpolation values when the same translation call supplies both list and named values because escapeParams() processes only the list branch. Applications that render translations as HTML and pass untrusted named values with a list can insert attacker-controlled markup, including phishing links, forms, and layout changes, and can permit script execution when combined with the srcdoc sanitizer bypass or on releases without the sanitizer. This issue is fixed in versions 11.4.14 and 12.0.0-alpha.5.

  • Oct 23, 2026i18next-http-backend 4.0.2 contains an incomplete fix in interpolateUrl() that allows attackers to redirect translation requests by supplying an ns value startiCVE-2026-115730 · Other software · i18next · reported by VulnCheckLow 2.3

i18next-http-backend 4.0.2 contains an incomplete fix in interpolateUrl() that allows attackers to redirect translation requests by supplying an ns value starting with a slash. • Oct 6, 2026i18next-http-backend is a backend layer for i18next that loads translation resources in Node.js, browsers, and Deno.CVE-2026-105800 · Other software · i18next · reported by GitHubLow 3.7

i18next-http-backend is a backend layer for i18next that loads translation resources in Node.js, browsers, and Deno. Prior to 4.0.2, attacker-controlled language or namespace values interpolated into a custom loadPath or addPath that begins directly with {{lng}} or {{ns}} can make colon-based input become an absolute URL or, in browsers, make a double-slash namespace become a protocol-relative URL. The resulting request can leave the intended origin and cause URL injection or server-side request forgery. The default /locales/{{lng}}/{{ns}}.json template and templates with a leading path or origin are not affected because the placeholder does not occupy the URL's structural beginning. This issue is fixed in version 4.0.2.

Grav Admin (getgrav/grav-plugin-admin2) versions <= 2.0.19 contain a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the tHtml() function (src/lib/stores/i18n.svelte.ts), which substitutes untrusted parameters such as usernames into translation templates before parsing the result as markdown. Grav's server-side username validation (DataUser::isValidUsername) blocks filesystem-dangerous characters but not <, >, ", or ', allowing an attacker to register a username containing an HTML payload. When an administrator views a UI surface that renders the username through tHtml()—such as the two-factor force-disable confirmation prompt or the 'page is locked' editor notice—the payload executes in their authenticated session. • Aug 25, 2026Ech0 before 5.0.1 does not impose any size or shape limit on the Accept-Language header processed by its i18n middleware, which runs on every HTTP request.CVE-2026-79658 · Other software · lin-snow · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.7

Ech0 before 5.0.1 does not impose any size or shape limit on the Accept-Language header processed by its i18n middleware, which runs on every HTTP request. The header is passed unfiltered to go-i18n's NewLocalizer, which internally calls golang.org/x/text/language.ParseAcceptLanguage. The CVE-2022-32149 mitigation in x/text caps '-' characters but not '_' characters, which the parser aliases to '-', allowing quadratic-time parsing to be triggered with a large header (up to Go's default 1 MiB) built from underscore separators. An unauthenticated attacker can send such requests to consume roughly 1.5 seconds of CPU each, and concurrent requests can saturate a multi-core server (denial of service).

i18next-http-middleware is a middleware to be used with Node.js web frameworks like express or Fastify and also for Deno. In versions prior to 3.9.7, the missingKeyHandler blocked the literal request-body keys __proto__, constructor, and prototype (added in 3.9.3, see GHSA-5fgg-jcpf-8jjw), but did not reject dotted variants such as "__proto__.polluted". Downstream backends that split the missing-key string on a configured keySeparator (notably i18next-fs-backend ≤ 2.6.5) hand these keys to an unguarded setPath() walker that writes to Object.prototype. Applications that expose missingKeyHandler to untrusted input AND use i18next-fs-backend ≤ 2.6.5 are directly exploitable for remote prototype pollution. Other downstream backends that split the missing-key string the same way may be similarly affected. Depending on the host application, polluted prototype properties may cause crashes, corrupted translation behaviour, configuration poisoning, or bypasses of property-based security checks. This issue has been fixed in version 3.9.7. If developers cannot upgrade immediately, they should do the following: do not expose missingKeyHandler to untrusted users (mount it behind authentication

Versions prior to 2.6.6 are vulnerable to prototype pollution via crafted missing-key strings when used to persist missing translation keys (e.g. via i18next-http-middleware's missingKeyHandler exposed to untrusted input). Backend.writeFile() splits each queued missing-key string on the configured keySeparator (default .) before calling the internal setPath() walker. The walker (getLastOfPath in lib/utils.js) did not guard against unsafe segments, so a key like "__proto__.polluted" was split into ["__proto__", "polluted"] and walked straight into Object.prototype, allowing an attacker to write arbitrary properties onto the global object prototype. Depending on the host application, polluted prototype properties may cause crashes, corrupted translation behaviour, configuration poisoning, or bypasses of property-based security checks. Applications are affected only if the missingKeyHandler (or another route that forwards untrusted request bodies to i18next.t(..., { ... }) with saveMissing: true) is reachable by untrusted users and the default behaviour of splitting missing-key strings on keySeparator is in use (i.e. keySeparator is not false). • May 8, 2026locize is a localization platform that connects code and i18n setup.CVE-2026-41886 · Other software · locize · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5

locize is a localization platform that connects code and i18n setup. Prior to version 4.0.21, the locize client SDK registers a window.addEventListener("message", …) handler that dispatches to registered internal handlers (editKey, commitKey, commitKeys, isLocizeEnabled, requestInitialize, …) without validating event.origin. The pre-patch listener in src/api/postMessage.js gates dispatch on event.data.sender === "i18next-editor-frame" — that value sits inside the attacker-controlled message payload, not the browser-enforced origin. Any web page that could embed or be embedded by a locize-enabled host — an iframe on a third-party page, a window.open-ed victim, a parent frame reaching down — could send a crafted postMessage and trigger the internal handlers. This issue has been patched in version 4.0.21.

i18next-locize-backend is a simple i18next backend for locize.com which can be used in Node.js, in the browser and for Deno. Prior to version 9.0.2, i18next-locize-backend interpolates lng, ns, projectId, and version directly into the configured loadPath / privatePath / addPath / updatePath / getLanguagesPath URL templates with no path-component validation and no encoding. When an application exposes any of these values to user-controlled input (?lng= / ?ns= query parameters via i18next-browser-languagedetector, cookies, request headers, or a URL-derived projectId), a crafted value can change the structure of the outgoing request URL. Affected call sites in lib/index.js (pre-patch): the interpolate() helper is used at the five URL-build sites — _readAny/read (line 415 for private, 426 for public), getLanguages (lines 271 and 296), and writePage (lines 616 and 622) for the missing-key and update POST paths. The helper interpolate in lib/utils.js substitutes raw values with no encoding. This issue has been patched in version 9.0.2.

i18next-fs-backend is a backend layer for i18next using in Node.js and for Deno to load translations from the filesystem. Prior to version 2.6.4, i18next-fs-backend substitutes the lng and ns options directly into the configured loadPath / addPath templates and then read / write the resulting file from disk. The interpolation is unencoded and unvalidated, so a crafted lng or ns value — containing .., a path separator, a control character, a prototype key, or simply an unexpectedly long string — allows an attacker who can influence either value to read or overwrite files outside the intended locale directory. When lng / ns are derived from untrusted input (request-scoped i18next instances behind an HTTP layer such as i18next-http-middleware, or any framework that lets the end user pick the language via query string, cookie, or header), a single request such as ?lng=../../../../etc/passwd causes the backend to attempt to read that path. This issue has been patched in version 2.6.4.

18next-http-middleware is a middleware to be used with Node.js web frameworks like express or Fastify and also for Deno. Versions prior to 3.9.3 allow an unauthenticated HTTP client to pollute Object.prototype in the Node.js process hosting the middleware, via two unvalidated entry points that reach internal object-key writes: getResourcesHandler and missingKeyHandler. This can break authorisation checks (if (user.isAdmin) returning true for any user), cause type-confusion DoS, and depending on downstream code it can be chained into RCE.

Prior to version 3.9.3, i18next-http-middleware wrote user-controlled language values into the Content-Language response header after passing them through utils.escape(), which is an HTML-entity encoder that does not strip carriage return, line feed, or other control characters. When the application used an older i18next (< 19.5.0) that still exercised the backward-compatibility fallback at LanguageDetector.js:100 or otherwise produced a raw detected value, CRLF sequences in the attacker-controlled lng parameter reached res.setHeader('Content-Language', ...) verbatim. • May 7, 2026i18nextify is a JavaScript library that adds website internationalization via a script tag, without source code changes.CVE-2026-41692 · Other software · i18next · reported by GitHubMedium 4.7

i18nextify is a JavaScript library that adds website internationalization via a script tag, without source code changes. Versions prior to 4.0.8 substitute {{key}} interpolation tokens inside src and href attribute values with the raw string returned by i18next.t(). The substitution logic in src/localize.js (the replaceInside handler) only guards against a duplicated http:// origin prefix — it does not validate the URL scheme of the substituted value. A translated value such as javascript:alert(1) or data:text/html,<script>...</script> is applied unchanged to the live DOM attribute when an attacker can influence the content of a translation file or the translation-backend response — for example, via a compromised translation CDN, user-contributed locales, a MITM on a plain-HTTP backend, or write access to the translation JSON. This issue was patched in version 4.0.8.

Copilot said: i18nextify is a JavaScript library that adds i18nextify is a JavaScript library that adds website internationalization via a script tag, without source code changes. Versions prior to 3.0.5 interpolate the lng and ns values directly into the configured loadPath / addPath URL template without any encoding, validation, or path sanitisation. When an application exposes the language-code selection to user-controlled input (the default — i18next-browser-languagedetector reads ?lng= query params, cookies, localStorage, and request headers), an attacker can inject characters that change the structure of the outgoing request URL. This is a single URL-injection vulnerability. The attacker-controlled value is neutralised before it is used as part of an output URL string; the attack shape covers both path traversal and broader URL-structure injection — both are closed by the one interpolateUrl sanitisation fix. This issue has been fixed in version 3.0.5. If users cannot upgrade immediately, they can work around the issue by sanitising lng / ns before they reach i18next (strip .., /, \, ?, #, %, whitespace, and control characters; cap the length).

  • Jul 16, 2025Vue I18n is the internationalization plugin for Vue.js.CVE-2025-53892 · Other software · intlify · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3

Vue I18n is the internationalization plugin for Vue.js. The escapeParameterHtml: true option in Vue I18n is designed to protect against HTML/script injection by escaping interpolated parameters. However, starting in version 9.0.0 and prior to versions 9.14.5, 10.0.8, and 11.1.0, this setting fails to prevent execution of certain tag-based payloads, such as <img src=x onerror=...>, if the interpolated value is inserted inside an HTML context using v-html. This may lead to a DOM-based XSS vulnerability, even when using escapeParameterHtml: true, if a translation string includes minor HTML and is rendered via v-html. Versions 9.14.5, 10.0.8, and 11.1.0 contain a fix for the issue.
