HtmlSanitizer before 9.2.1039 and 10.0 prereleases before 10.0.1037-beta contains a cross-site scripting vulnerability because SanitizeDom(string) never sanitizes attributes on the html and body wrapper elements. Attackers can supply input with a second body or html tag carrying event handlers like onload, executing script when applications render serialized document or body outer HTML.

  • Feb 4, 2026HtmlSanitizer is a .NET library for cleaning HTML fragments and documents from constructs that can lead to XSS attacks.CVE-2026-25543 · Other software · mganss · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

HtmlSanitizer is a .NET library for cleaning HTML fragments and documents from constructs that can lead to XSS attacks. Prior to versions 9.0.892 and 9.1.893-beta, if the template tag is allowed, its contents are not sanitized. The template tag is a special tag that does not usually render its contents, unless the shadowrootmode attribute is set to open or closed. This issue has been patched in versions 9.0.892 and 9.1.893-beta.

  • Jun 23, 2025HTMLSanitizer.jl is a Whitelist-based HTML sanitizer.CVE-2025-52561 · Other software · JuliaComputing · reported by GitHubMedium 6.9

HTMLSanitizer.jl is a Whitelist-based HTML sanitizer. Prior to version 0.2.1, when adding the style tag to the whitelist, content inside the tag is incorrectly unescaped, and closing tags injected as content are interpreted as real HTML, enabling tag injection and JavaScript execution. This could result in possible cross-site scripting (XSS) in any HTML that is sanitized with this library. This issue has been patched in version 0.2.1. A workaround involves adding the math and svg elements to the whitelist manually.

  • Mar 14, 2025HtmlSanitizer is a client-side HTML Sanitizer.CVE-2025-29771 · Other software · jitbit · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3

HtmlSanitizer is a client-side HTML Sanitizer. Versions prior to 2.0.3 have a cross-site scripting vulnerability when the sanitizer is used with a `contentEditable` element to set the elements `innerHTML` to a sanitized string produced by the package. If the code is particularly crafted to abuse the code beautifier, that runs AFTER sanitation. The issue is patched in version 2.0.3.

  • Oct 5, 2023HtmlSanitizer is a .NET library for cleaning HTML fragments and documents from constructs that can lead to XSS attacks.CVE-2023-44390 · Other software · mganss · reported by GitHubMedium 6.1

HtmlSanitizer is a .NET library for cleaning HTML fragments and documents from constructs that can lead to XSS attacks. The vulnerability occurs in configurations where foreign content is allowed, i.e. either `svg` or `math` are in the list of allowed elements. In the case an application sanitizes user input with a vulnerable configuration, an attacker could bypass the sanitization and inject arbitrary HTML, including JavaScript code. Note that in the default configuration the vulnerability is not present. The vulnerability has been fixed in versions 8.0.723 and 8.1.722-beta (preview version).

  • May 13, 2021The HTMLSanitizer class in html-sanitizer.ts in all released versions of the Aurelia framework 1.x repository is vulnerable to XSS.CVE-2019-10062 · Other software · Bluespire · reported by MITREMedium 6.1

The HTMLSanitizer class in html-sanitizer.ts in all released versions of the Aurelia framework 1.x repository is vulnerable to XSS. The sanitizer only attempts to filter SCRIPT elements, which makes it feasible for remote attackers to conduct XSS attacks via (for example) JavaScript code in an attribute of various other elements. An attacker might also exploit a bug in how the SCRIPT string is processed by splitting and nesting them for example.

  • Jan 4, 2021HtmlSanitizer is a .NET library for cleaning HTML fragments and documents from constructs that can lead to XSS attacks.CVE-2020-26293 · Other software · mganss · reported by GitHubMedium 6.1

HtmlSanitizer is a .NET library for cleaning HTML fragments and documents from constructs that can lead to XSS attacks. In HtmlSanitizer before version 5.0.372, there is a possible XSS bypass if style tag is allowed. If you have explicitly allowed the `<style>` tag, an attacker could craft HTML that includes script after passing through the sanitizer. The default settings disallow the `<style>` tag so there is no risk if you have not explicitly allowed the `<style>` tag. The problem has been fixed in version 5.0.372.

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
