  • Oct 15, 2026A vulnerability has been identified within Fleet where, by default, Fleet will automatically trust a remote server’s certificate when connecting through SSH if CVE-2025-23390 · Other software · SUSE · reported by meissner@suse.deMedium 6.3

A vulnerability has been identified within Fleet where, by default, Fleet will automatically trust a remote server’s certificate when connecting through SSH if the certificate isn’t set in the `known_hosts` file. This could allow the execution of a man-in-the-middle (MitM) attack against Fleet. In case the server that is being connected to has a trusted entry in the known_hosts file, then Fleet will correctly check the authenticity of the presented certificate.

A vulnerability has been identified within Rancher Manager where the Fleet agent wrote resources to downstream clusters using its own cluster-admin credentials instead of the ServiceAccount pinned to the deployment. It affects multi-tenancy environments where different tenants share the same downstream clusters, for example different privileged or untrusted teams inside the same organization. This could lead to overwritten configuration files. This issue affected SUSE Rancher Fleet 0.16 before 0.16.2, 0.15 before 0.15.7, and 0.14 before 0.14.11.

  • Sep 28, 2026A privilege mismatch was found in Fleet.CVE-2026-93540 · Other software · SUSE · reported by meissner@suse.deMedium 6.5

A privilege mismatch was found in Fleet. When a bundle requested namespace labels or annotations through the namespaceLabels and namespaceAnnotations options, the resulting namespace metadata update was not subject to the same authorization as the rest of the bundle's deployment. As a result, a bundle could change labels and annotations on a target namespace even when the identity it was pinned to was not authorized to modify that namespace. This affected SUSE Rancher Fleet 0.16 before 0.16.2, 0.15 before 0.15.7, 0.14 before 0.14.11, 0.13 before 0.13.16 and potentially older versions.

  • Sep 28, 2026A vulnerability was discovered in Fleet's Git webhook receiver (the gitjob webhook service).CVE-2026-93539 · Other software · SUSE · reported by meissner@suse.deMedium 5.4

A vulnerability was discovered in Fleet's Git webhook receiver (the gitjob webhook service). When a webhook secret is not configured, incoming webhook requests are accepted without verification, and processing a request can change the spec.pollingInterval field of a matching GitRepo resource in any namespace. A caller with network access to the webhook service and no Kubernetes credentials can therefore alter GitRepo configuration outside the namespaces they are authorized for.  This only affects SUSE Rancher Fleet 0.16 before 0.16.2, older versions are not affected.

  • Sep 28, 2026A cross-tenant authorization issue was discovered in SUSE Rancher Fleet.CVE-2026-93538 · Other software · SUSE · reported by meissner@suse.deHigh 7.1

A cross-tenant authorization issue was discovered in SUSE Rancher Fleet. During agent-initiated cluster registration, cluster labels supplied by the registering agent, including labels in the reserved management.cattle.io/ namespace such as the cluster display name label, were applied to the resulting upstream Cluster object. Because Fleet resolves GitRepo and Bundle targets from those cluster labels, a party able to register a cluster into a Fleet workspace namespace shared with other tenants could cause its own cluster to satisfy targeting rules that administrators intended for a different cluster. This affects SUSE Rancher Fleet 0.16 before 0.16.1, 0.15 before 0.15.6, 0.14 before 0.14.10, 0.13 before 0.13.15, 0.12 before 0.12.19 and older versions.

Fleet before 4.87.0 does not protect the two endpoints that serve in-house iOS application packages and manifests (enterprise tier only) with the intended random, time-limited URL token. Because Apple's InstallEnterpriseApplication MDM command requires these URLs to be reachable without a Fleet session, they cannot rely on session-based authentication, and the missing token allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access to the Fleet server to download in-house IPA binaries and their metadata (bundle identifier, version, and name) by guessing sequential title identifiers. The impact is limited to read-only disclosure; there is no privilege escalation or write access, and the free tier is unaffected (it returns fleet.ErrMissingLicense).

  • Sep 27, 2026Fleet before 4.89.0 contains an SQL injection vulnerability in the activity list endpoints (GET /api/v1/fleet/activities and GET /api/v1/fleet/hosts/{id}/activiCVE-2026-101046 · Other software · fleetdm · reported by VulnCheckLow 2.3

Fleet before 4.89.0 contains an SQL injection vulnerability in the activity list endpoints (GET /api/v1/fleet/activities and GET /api/v1/fleet/hosts/{id}/activities). The deprecated cursor-pagination helper appendListOptionsWithCursorToSQL interpolated the caller-supplied sort/order key into the SQL ORDER BY clause without an allowlist, so an authenticated user with read access to Activity could order results by arbitrary columns. The impact is read-only and bounded to columns on the activity_past table that are not otherwise returned in these responses (e.g. details), allowing their values to be inferred through the resulting sort order; there is no write access, privilege escalation, or reachability of node_key or other host-join columns through these endpoints. Fixed in 4.89.0, which removes the deprecated helper and passes the sort column through SanitizeColumn.

  • Sep 27, 2026Fleet-maintained app install and uninstall scripts for macOS are generated from Homebrew cask metadata.CVE-2026-101045 · Other software · fleetdm · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.9

Fleet-maintained app install and uninstall scripts for macOS are generated from Homebrew cask metadata. In manifests generated before 2026-08-19, the script generator escaped this metadata at some interpolation sites but not all of them, so cask metadata containing shell metacharacters (for example $(...) command substitution) could be carried into scripts that execute as root on managed macOS hosts. An attacker who could land crafted metadata in an upstream Homebrew cask — without needing any Fleet credentials — could achieve arbitrary command execution as root on managed macOS hosts that install or uninstall the affected Fleet-maintained app; exploitation required the crafted metadata to pass both upstream Homebrew cask review and Fleet's review of the automated ingestion pull request. The fix (fleetdm/fleet#51324) landed in Fleet's ingestion pipeline on 2026-08-19 so that all manifests generated on or after that date escape cask metadata at every interpolation site; because manifests are generated centrally and distributed as pre-built content, remediation applied to all deployments with no customer action, and the code fix is included in Fleet v4.92.0.

  • Sep 3, 2026A security vulnerability was discovered in Fleet's Helm template preprocessing where templates evaluated by the Fleet controller could reach network resources oCVE-2026-75036 · Other software · SUSE · reported by meissner@suse.deMedium 5.3

A security vulnerability was discovered in Fleet's Helm template preprocessing where templates evaluated by the Fleet controller could reach network resources outside the management cluster. A user who can supply bundle content to a repository referenced by a `GitRepo` resource can cause the Fleet controller to: - Disclose cluster metadata available to the templating context. - Reveal information about hosts reachable from the controller's network position. Because the disclosure channel is name resolution, it may remain effective in environments where outbound traffic is otherwise restricted. The disclosed information is limited to values exposed to the Fleet templating context and to name resolution results. Integrity and availability of managed clusters are not affected. • Aug 26, 2026Fleet is an open-source device management platform built on osquery.CVE-2026-54245 · Other software · fleetdm · reported by GitHubHigh 7.6

Fleet is an open-source device management platform built on osquery. In versions prior to 4.86.2, the Okta conditional access integration in Fleet Premium is vulnerable to SQL injection through a host-supplied value that is used in a database query without proper parameterization, allowing an attacker who controls a single enrolled host to read or modify arbitrary data in the Fleet database. The value is reported by the host's own agent and stored verbatim, then used on an unauthenticated request path that supports the conditional access integration, so any party controlling one enrolled host, the lowest-privilege position in the product, can influence the query. By disclosing arbitrary database contents an attacker can extract stored session tokens and replay them to act as a global administrator, and on a managed fleet that administrator access enables running scripts on enrolled hosts, leading to remote code execution. The issue requires Fleet Premium with the Okta conditional access integration enabled and does not affect instances where it is not configured. This issue is fixed in version 4.86.2.

  • Aug 26, 2026Fleet is an open-source device management platform built on osquery.CVE-2026-46371 · Other software · fleetdm · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

Fleet is an open-source device management platform built on osquery. In versions up to and including 4.84.1, the Apple MDM commands listing endpoint (GET /api/v1/fleet/mdm/apple/commands) allowed an authenticated user with the lowest-privilege Observer role to extract sensitive values from joined database tables, including host enrollment secrets and Apple Push Notification Service tokens, through a sort-order oracle. The endpoint accepted a user-supplied order_key parameter that was not validated against a column allowlist, and because the underlying query joins the hosts and nano_enrollments tables, an attacker could set the sort column to a sensitive field and combine it with the cursor-based after parameter to binary-search the value one character at a time, with the presence or absence of results revealing each character even though the value never appeared in the response. With extracted node_key or orbit_node_key values an attacker could impersonate enrolled hosts to Fleet's osquery and Orbit endpoints, submit fabricated host data, and retrieve pending scripts and commands. This issue is fixed in version 4.84.2.

  • Aug 26, 2026Fleet is an open-source device management platform built on osquery.CVE-2026-46370 · Other software · fleetdm · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

Fleet is an open-source device management platform built on osquery. In versions up to and including 4.84.1, the labels host-listing endpoint (GET /api/v1/fleet/labels/{id}/hosts) allowed an authenticated user with the lowest-privilege Observer role to extract host enrollment secrets through a sort-order oracle. The endpoint accepted a user-supplied order_key parameter that was not validated against a column allowlist, so an attacker with Global or Team Observer access could set the sort column to a sensitive field such as h.node_key and combine it with the cursor-based after parameter to binary-search the value one character at a time; the targeted value never appeared in the response, but the presence or absence of results revealed each character. Because node_key and orbit_node_key are the long-lived shared secrets that osquery and Orbit agents use to authenticate to the Fleet server, an attacker who reconstructed them could impersonate enrolled hosts, submit fabricated query results and inventory, retrieve pending scripts and MDM commands, and poison compliance and policy results across the deployment. This issue is fixed in version 4.84.2.

  • Aug 26, 2026Fleet is an open-source device management platform built on osquery.CVE-2026-48786 · Other software · fleetdm · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

Fleet is an open-source device management platform built on osquery. In versions prior to 4.87.0, the target search endpoint (POST /api/latest/fleet/targets) returned unmasked team enroll secrets and full team configuration, including credential-bearing agent options, to low-privilege observer-class users. Other team-facing endpoints mask these fields for observers, but the target search endpoint did not apply the same sanitization, so an authenticated user with the Observer, Observer+, or Technician role, whether global or team-scoped, could retrieve the secrets and agent options by performing a target search against an observer-runnable query. With a leaked team enroll secret an attacker could enroll unauthorized hosts into the affected team, and if the team's agent options contained credentials such as AWS secret access keys or proxy passwords, those values were disclosed as well. This issue is fixed in version 4.87.0.

Fleet is an open-source device management platform built on osquery. In versions prior to 4.85.0, the global policy read endpoint (GET /api/latest/fleet/policies/{policy_id}) fails to verify team ownership of the requested policy, allowing an authenticated user with observer-level access on any single team to read the full details of policies belonging to any other team and bypass Fleet's team isolation model. The handler authorizes the request against an empty policy object whose TeamID is nil, which an authorization rule permits for any user holding a role on any team, and then fetches the policy by ID with no team filter and returns it without any post-fetch scope check. Because policy IDs are sequential integers, an attacker can enumerate them to read other teams' policy SQL queries, host pass and fail counts, and associated software-installer and script metadata, exposing security-monitoring strategies and compliance posture across team boundaries. This issue is fixed in version 4.85.0.

Observable Discrepancy (CWE-203) in Kibana Fleet can lead to information disclosure via Excavation (CAPEC-116). Fleet removes the Elasticsearch API key value of an enrolled Elastic Agent from the responses of its agent listing capability, but that capability accepted caller-supplied filter expressions over the stored field that holds the value, and evaluated them with Kibana's own internal Elasticsearch privileges rather than the caller's. Because the number of matching agents is reported back to the caller, the difference between a matching and a non-matching filter formed a side channel from which the full API key value could be reconstructed one character at a time with a short sequence of requests.

Improper Privilege Management (CWE-269) in Kibana Fleet can lead to privilege escalation via Privilege Escalation (CAPEC-233). An integration policy may optionally declare extra data streams that the integration writes to, which Fleet adds to the Elasticsearch API key issued to Elastic Agents enrolled in the corresponding agent policy. The resulting key allows new documents to be inserted and index mappings to be extended for specific indices. The key does not allow reading, updating, or deleting existing documents

Incorrect Authorization (CWE-863) in Kibana Fleet can lead to privilege escalation via Privilege Abuse (CAPEC-122). Fleet restricts some callers to managing integration policies for one specific integration. When an existing integration policy was updated, that restriction was evaluated against the integration recorded on the stored policy rather than against the replacement integration supplied with the update. An authenticated user holding only the Elastic Defend endpoint policy management privilege was therefore able to convert an endpoint policy they administer into a policy for a different integration, and to supply that integration's configuration at the same time.

A vulnerability has been identified in Fleet's agent-side deployer, which did not filter security-sensitive keys from namespaceLabels in fleet.yaml (or BundleDeployment.spec.options.namespaceLabels) when applying them to the target namespace. An attacker with git push access to a Fleet-monitored repository could overwrite Pod Security Standards (PSS) enforcement labels on a target namespace. This allows the attacker to weaken admission controls and deploy workloads that PSS policies would otherwise block.

  • May 14, 2026Fleet is open source device management software.CVE-2026-46356 · Other software · fleetdm · reported by GitHubMedium 6.9

Fleet is open source device management software. Prior to version 4.80.1, a vulnerability in Fleet's IP extraction logic allows unauthenticated attackers to bypass API rate limiting by spoofing client IP headers. This may allow brute-force login attempts or other abuse against Fleet instances exposed to the public internet. Fleet extracted client IP addresses from request headers (`True-Client-IP`, `X-Real-IP`, `X-Forwarded-For`) without validating that those headers originate from a trusted proxy. The extracted IP is used as the key for rate limiting and IP ban decisions. As a result, an attacker could rotate the value of these headers on each request, causing Fleet to treat each attempt as coming from a different client. This effectively bypasses per-IP rate limits on sensitive endpoints such as the login API, enabling unrestricted brute-force or credential stuffing attacks. This issue primarily affects Fleet instances that are directly exposed to the internet without a reverse proxy that overwrites forwarded-IP headers. Instances behind a properly configured proxy or WAF are less affected. Version 4.80.1 contains a patch. If an immediate upgrade is not possible, administrators s

  • May 14, 2026Fleet is open source device management software.CVE-2026-26191 · Other software · fleetdm · reported by GitHubMedium 6

Fleet is open source device management software. Prior to version 4.81.0, a vulnerability in Fleet's software installer pipeline could allow a crafted software package to execute arbitrary commands as root (macOS/Linux) or SYSTEM (Windows) on managed endpoints when an uninstall is triggered. When a software package (.pkg, .deb, .rpm, .exe, or .msi) is uploaded to Fleet, metadata is extracted from the package binary and used to generate uninstall scripts. In affected versions, this metadata is not properly sanitized before being included in the generated scripts. A specially crafted package containing malicious values in its metadata fields could result in unintended command execution when the uninstall script runs on managed endpoints. Version 4.81.0 contains a patch. If an immediate upgrade is not possible, administrators should avoid uploading software packages obtained from untrusted or unverified sources. Additionally, administrators can manually inspect and edit auto-generated uninstall scripts before deployment.

  • May 14, 2026Fleet is open source device management software.CVE-2026-26062 · Other software · fleetdm · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7

Fleet is open source device management software. Prior to version 4.81.0, Fleet contained a denial-of-service (DoS) issue in the gRPC Launcher `PublishLogs` endpoint. In affected versions, certain unexpected input values were not handled gracefully, which could cause the Fleet server process to terminate while processing an authenticated request from an enrolled Launcher host. An authenticated attacker with access to any enrolled Launcher node key could cause an immediate and complete denial of service by sending a single gRPC request to the `PublishLogs` endpoint. This vulnerability impacts availability only. There is no exposure of sensitive data, no authentication bypass, no privilege escalation, and no integrity impact. Version 4.81.0 contains a patch. If upgrading immediately is not possible, the following mitigations can reduce exposure. Restrict network access to the Fleet gRPC endpoint where feasible (for example, limiting inbound access to known host IP ranges); deploy Fleet behind infrastructure that terminates or filters gRPC traffic if Launcher log ingestion is not required; and/or monitor for repeated Fleet process crashes or unexpected restarts indicating potential e

  • May 14, 2026Fleet is open source device management software.CVE-2026-24899 · Other software · fleetdm · reported by GitHubHigh 8.2

Fleet is open source device management software. Prior to version 4.82.0, a vulnerability in Fleet's Windows MDM enrollment flow allows authentication tokens from any Azure AD tenant to be accepted. Because Fleet validates JWT signatures using Microsoft's multi-tenant JWKS endpoint but does not enforce the `aud` (audience) or `iss` (issuer) claims, any Microsoft-signed Azure AD access token containing the expected scopes can be used to authenticate to Fleet's MDM endpoints. If Windows MDM is enabled, an attacker with access to any Azure AD tenant can obtain a valid Microsoft-signed token and use it to enroll unauthorized devices and interact with Fleet's MDM management APIs. During device management, Fleet may expose sensitive enrollment secrets embedded in MDM command payloads, enabling further unauthorized access. Version 4.82.0 contains a patch. If an immediate upgrade is not possible, affected Fleet users should temporarily disable Windows MDM.

  • May 14, 2026Fleet is open source device management software.CVE-2026-24000 · Other software · fleetdm · reported by GitHubMedium 6.9

Fleet is open source device management software. Prior to version 4.80.1, Fleet trusted client-supplied IP address headers when determining the source IP for incoming requests. This allowed authenticated and unauthenticated clients to spoof their apparent IP address and bypass per-IP rate limiting controls. Fleet determines a client’s public IP address using HTTP headers such as X-Forwarded-For, X-Real-IP, and/or True-Client-IP. These headers were trusted without validation. An attacker could supply arbitrary values in these headers, causing Fleet to treat each request as originating from a different IP address. This could allow an attacker to bypass per-IP rate limits and increase the effectiveness of brute-force or password-spraying attempts against authentication endpoints. This issue does not allow authentication bypass, privilege escalation, data exposure, or remote code execution on its own. Version 4.80.1 contains a patch. As a workaround, run Fleet behind a trusted reverse proxy or load balancer that overwrites client IP headers.

  • May 14, 2026Fleet is open source device management software.CVE-2026-23998 · Other software · fleetdm · reported by GitHubHigh 8.2

Fleet is open source device management software. Prior to version 4.81.0, a vulnerability in Fleet’s Windows MDM management endpoint could allow requests to be processed without proper client certificate validation. In certain circumstances, this could allow an attacker to impersonate an enrolled Windows device and retrieve sensitive configuration data. Fleet’s Windows MDM management endpoint relies on mutual TLS (mTLS) client certificates to authenticate enrolled devices. In affected versions, requests that did not present a client certificate could be incorrectly treated as trusted. As a result, an attacker with prior knowledge of a valid enrolled device identifier could potentially impersonate that device and receive configuration payloads intended for it. These payloads may contain sensitive information such as Wi-Fi or VPN configuration data, certificates, or other secrets delivered through MDM profiles. This issue does not allow enrollment of new devices, administrative access to Fleet, or compromise of the Fleet control plane. Impact is limited to the targeted Windows device. Version 4.81.0 contains a patch. If an immediate upgrade is not possible, affected Fleet users shoul
