  • Oct 28, 2026AnkiMCP is an Anki addon that implements an MCP server, enabling AI assistants to interact with the Anki flashcard application.CVE-2026-61546 · Other software · ankimcp · reported by GitHubHigh 8.8

    AnkiMCP is an Anki addon that implements an MCP server, enabling AI assistants to interact with the Anki flashcard application. Prior to version 0.21.0, `anki_mcp_server/mcp_server.py` globally disables FastMCP DNS-rebinding protection through `TransportSecuritySettings` with `enable_dns_rebinding_protection=False`, including for the default local Streamable HTTP listener. The defaults in `anki_mcp_server/config.py` enable `http_enabled` on `127.0.0.1:3141`, with an empty `http_path` selecting the root endpoint. No bearer token, API key, session secret, strict `Host` allowlist or strict `Origin` allowlist is enforced before `initialize`, `tools/list` and `tools/call` reach MCP dispatch. A victim who visits a malicious web page while Anki and the listener are running can have browser requests rebound to loopback, allowing the attacker to `initialize` MCP, enumerate tools, read the local collection, and perform enabled non-destructive note/deck creation or updates. The attacker needs neither LAN position nor a local process. Available operations depend on enabled tool filters; destructive tools are hidden unless `enabled_destructive_tools` is opted into, limiting deletion-level impac

  • Oct 28, 2026USB Test is a lightweight Windows CLI utility for verifying sector integrity and detecting overreported capacity on USB flash drives.CVE-2026-116776 · Other software · n-romanovich · reported by GitHubHigh 7

    USB Test is a lightweight Windows CLI utility for verifying sector integrity and detecting overreported capacity on USB flash drives. Prior to version 1.1.5, getSectorSize() in USB Test/src/driveinfo.cpp trusts DISK_GEOMETRY.BytesPerSector returned by IOCTL_DISK_GET_DRIVE_GEOMETRY without checking whether the call succeeded or enforcing size bounds. USB Test/src/drivetest.cpp uses the value for division and to size a heap buffer before memcpy(buffer.data(), &sector, 8), so a physically connected malicious USB storage device can report a value below eight bytes and cause repeated out-of-bounds writes, or report zero and cause a divide-by-zero denial of service when a user starts a drive test. The heap corruption can crash the elevated application and may permit arbitrary code execution. This issue is fixed in version 1.1.5.

  • Oct 21, 2026The Nuvoton NPCX eSPI driver parses Target-Attached-Flash (TAF) requests in espi_taf_parse() (drivers/espi/espi_npcx.c), taking the 12-bit length field directlyCVE-2026-78119 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 6.3

    The Nuvoton NPCX eSPI driver parses Target-Attached-Flash (TAF) requests in espi_taf_parse() (drivers/espi/espi_npcx.c), taking the 12-bit length field directly out of the request header in the FLASHRXBUF FIFO. For write and RPMC OP1 requests it copied DIV_ROUND_UP(len, 4) words into struct espi_taf_pckt.src, a fixed 16-word (64-byte) member of a static structure, without ever comparing the length against that buffer or against the negotiated eSPI receive payload size (rx-plsize, 64 bytes on all in-tree NPCX/NPCK SoCs). Both the loop counter and the word count were uint8_t, so the copy ran up to 255 iterations. An eSPI controller that emits a flash request whose header claims a payload larger than the negotiated maximum therefore drives up to 239 32-bit stores past the end of the structure — roughly 956 bytes of out-of-bounds write into .bss — from the eSPI flash receive interrupt handler, while the source reads walk past the end of the 18-word FLASHRXBUF register array into neighbouring eSPI registers. The same unvalidated length was then passed on to flash_write() in espi_taf_npcx_flash_write() with the 64-byte src buffer as source, reading up to 4 KB of adjacent controller SRAM

  • Sep 29, 2026Mounting an attacker-controlled NAND flash image (`lx_nand_flash_open()`) triggers an unbounded out-of-bounds heap **write** in LevelX's NAND flash-translation-CVE-2026-102730 · Other software · Eclipse Foundation · reported by emo@eclipse.orgHigh 8.6

    Mounting an attacker-controlled NAND flash image (`lx_nand_flash_open()`) triggers an unbounded out-of-bounds heap **write** in LevelX's NAND flash-translation-layer metadata parser that overwrites a driver function pointer in the control block, giving a demonstrated control-flow hijack — RIP set to a full 8-byte attacker-chosen value (register-verified). Two accompanying OOB reads. All reproduced verbatim under ASan at HEAD `9f1cfdc`. (The affected metadata-parser header states "Some portions generated by Copilot (Sonnet 4.6)" — an AI-generated parser with an unchecked on-flash count.)

  • Sep 26, 2026SiYuan before v3.8.4 does not HTML-escape stored flashcard block content before interpolating it into the card-manager list markup.CVE-2026-100641 · Other software · siyuan-note · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.6

    SiYuan before v3.8.4 does not HTML-escape stored flashcard block content before interpolating it into the card-manager list markup. Block content returned by /api/riff/getRiffCards is inserted into a card item template in app/src/card/viewCards.ts and assigned to listElement.innerHTML, so content such as <img src=invalid onerror=...> becomes an executable event-handler attribute. Because the SiYuan desktop (Electron) main window is created with nodeIntegration enabled and contextIsolation disabled, an administrator who opens the card manager on a workspace containing attacker-supplied flashcard content (for example introduced through contribution or import) executes the attacker's script in a privileged renderer, which can lead to arbitrary code execution on the host. The affected endpoint remains behind authentication and administrator-role checks; this is an untrusted-content-to-privileged-renderer issue, not an authorization bypass.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mtd: rawnand: validate ONFI extended parameter page sections nand_flash_detect_ext_param_page() allocates the length declared by the ONFI parameter page, then treats the data as a fixed header followed by variable-length sections. It reads that header and advances over sections without first proving that the fixed page and each current section fit in the allocation. Reject pages shorter than the fixed header, track the remaining variable area while walking sections, and require the ECC section to contain every field read from struct onfi_ext_ecc_info. Use device-scoped diagnostics that identify the malformed ONFI section.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: qla2xxx: Fix BSG job leak on validate flash image error path qla28xx_validate_flash_image() returns QLA_SUCCESS (0) unconditionally, telling the FC BSG transport (fc_bsg_host_dispatch()) that the driver owns and will complete the request. But bsg_job_done() is guarded by "if (!rval)", so on the error path (rval == -EINVAL) neither the driver nor the transport completes the job. The request dangles until it times out, leaking block layer resources. Commit c2c68225b145 ("scsi: qla2xxx: Fix bsg_done() causing double free") added the "if (!rval)" guard to a batch of BSG handlers. That is correct for handlers that also return the error code (the transport then completes the job once via fail_host_msg), but this function returns QLA_SUCCESS unconditionally, so the guard turned a correct single completion into a leak. Always call bsg_job_done(): bsg_reply->result is DID_OK and the error is reported in vendor_rsp[0], and since the function returns 0 the transport will not complete the job a second time.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: qla2xxx: Serialize flash version read in reset handler The "update cache versions without reset" sysfs reset operation (0x20261) calls get_flash_version(), which reads hardware flash registers, without holding ha->optrom_mutex. The VPD update path serializes the same call under optrom_mutex, so this reset path can interleave its flash register accesses with a concurrent VPD or optrom flash operation and corrupt the reads. Hold ha->optrom_mutex across the get_flash_version() call to match the VPD update path.

    The Ingenic T31 SoC boot ROM flash-boot verification path compares only a single 32-bit word of the RSA signature output against a single 32-bit word of the SHA-256 payload digest, rather than compare the full data. This allows an attacker with physical write access to boot media to forge modified SPL (Secondary Program Loader) images that pass secure boot verification without possession of the OEM signing key. Each forgery attempt succeeds with approximately 2/3 probability. This has been validated via reverse engineering, software emulation against vendor-signed images, and end-to-end hardware acceptance of a forged firmware image on a Wyze Video Doorbell v2 (T31X).

  • Aug 17, 2026The flash_copy() system call is verified by z_vrfy_flash_copy() in drivers/flash/flash_util.c.CVE-2026-9771 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgHigh 8.8

    The flash_copy() system call is verified by z_vrfy_flash_copy() in drivers/flash/flash_util.c. On builds with CONFIG_USERSPACE enabled, this handler is the kernel-side trust boundary for a user-mode caller. Prior to the fix it validated only the output buffer (K_SYSCALL_MEMORY_WRITE) and passed the two struct device * arguments, src_dev and dst_dev, directly into the implementation without any object validation — unlike every sibling flash syscall, which guards its device pointer with K_SYSCALL_DRIVER_FLASH. A user-mode thread fully controls the values of src_dev/dst_dev and the contents of its own address space. The implementation z_impl_flash_copy() dereferences these pointers and calls through their driver-API function tables (e.g. api->get_parameters(dst_dev), flash_read(src_dev, ...), flash_write(dst_dev, ...)). By supplying a pointer to a forged struct device whose api table contains attacker-chosen function pointers, an unprivileged thread can cause the kernel to call arbitrary code in supervisor mode; passing any arbitrary or invalid address otherwise yields a kernel crash or out-of-bounds read. The result is a local privilege escalation out of the userspace sandbox (with

  • Aug 7, 2026The SF32LB MPI QSPI NOR flash driver (drivers/flash/flash_sf32lb_mpi_qspi_nor.c) validated the flash offset and length on its read and write paths with the testCVE-2026-11743 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 6.6

    The SF32LB MPI QSPI NOR flash driver (drivers/flash/flash_sf32lb_mpi_qspi_nor.c) validated the flash offset and length on its read and write paths with the test (offset + size) > data->size. Because offset is a signed off_t while size is unsigned, a negative offset is converted to a large unsigned value and the addition can wrap to a small result that passes the check. The read path then performs memcpy(dst, (void *)(data->base + offset), size) and the write path programs flash at offset and cache-invalidates data->base + offset, in both cases accessing memory outside the mapped flash window. The driver's erase path already rejected negative offsets, but read and write did not. In builds with CONFIG_USERSPACE, flash_read and flash_write are syscalls whose verifiers validate the device object and the caller's buffer but deliberately delegate offset bounds checking to the driver. An unprivileged thread that has been granted access to this flash device can therefore call the syscall with a crafted negative offset and a buffer valid in its own memory domain, and reach the unchecked access. The most direct impact is on the read path: by choosing a negative offset and matching size, an

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: typec: ucsi: ccg: reject firmware images without a ':' record header do_flash() locates the first .cyacd record with p = strnchr(fw->data, fw->size, ':'); while (p < eof) { s = strnchr(p + 1, eof - p - 1, ':'); ... } If the firmware image contains no ':' byte, strnchr() returns NULL. NULL compares less than the valid kernel pointer eof, so the loop body runs and strnchr() is called with p + 1 == (void *)1 and a length of roughly (unsigned long)eof, causing a wonderful crash. The not_signed_fw fallthrough earlier in do_flash() and the chip-state branches in ccg_fw_update_needed() allow an unsigned blob to reach this loop, so a root user who can place a crafted file under /lib/firmware and write the do_flash sysfs attribute can trigger the oops. • Jul 7, 2026The Dhara flash translation layer disk driver (drivers/disk/ftl_dhara.c) implemented the dhara_nand_ callbacks so that, on a flash error, the error code was wriCVE-2026-10659 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 4.7

    The Dhara flash translation layer disk driver (drivers/disk/ftl_dhara.c) implemented the dhara_nand_ callbacks so that, on a flash error, the error code was written unconditionally through the caller-supplied dhara_error_t err pointer (e.g. *err = DHARA_E_ECC in dhara_nand_read, and similar in dhara_nand_erase/prog/copy). The upstream Dhara library calls these callbacks with err == NULL along its journal-resume binary search: find_last_checkblock() invokes find_checkblock(j, mid, &found, NULL), which forwards the NULL pointer into dhara_nand_read(). This path runs during disk_ftl_access_init() -> dhara_map_resume() whenever the FTL disk is mounted/initialised. If a flash read error (uncorrectable ECC, bad block, controller error) occurs on one of the probed checkpoint pages, the driver dereferences and writes to NULL, faulting the kernel (denial of service). The trigger is conditioned on the NAND medium content/health, which can be influenced by media wear, induced faults, or a corrupted/crafted on-flash image. The fix routes all error assignments through the library's NULL-safe dhara_set_error() helper. Affects Zephyr v4.4.0, where the driver was introduced.

The load_checkpoint() function in checkpoint.py and the checkpoint loading code in eval.py use torch.load() without enabling the security-restrictive weights_only=True parameter. This allows the deserialization of arbitrary Python objects via the pickle module. An attacker can exploit this by providing a maliciously crafted checkpoint file. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: spi: cadence-quadspi: Parse DT for flashes with the rest of the DT parsing The recent refactoring of where runtime PM is enabled done in commit f1eb4e792bb1 ("spi: spi-cadence-quadspi: Enable pm runtime earlier to avoid imbalance") made the fact that when we do a pm_runtime_disable() in the error paths of probe() we can trigger a runtime disable which in turn results in duplicate clock disables. This is particularly likely to happen when there is missing or broken DT description for the flashes attached to the controller. Early on in the probe function we do a pm_runtime_get_noresume() since the probe function leaves the device in a powered up state but in the error path we can't assume that PM is enabled so we also manually disable everything, including clocks. This means that when runtime PM is active both it and the probe function release the same reference to the main clock for the IP, triggering warnings from the clock subsystem: [ 8.693719] clk:75:7 already disabled [ 8.693791] WARNING: CPU: 1 PID: 185 at /usr/src/kernel/drivers/clk/clk.c:1188 clk_core_disable+0xa0/0xb ... • Jan 22, 2026Rufus is a utility that helps format and create bootable USB flash drives.CVE-2026-23988 · Other software · pbatard · reported by GitHubHigh 7.3

    Rufus is a utility that helps format and create bootable USB flash drives. Versions 4.11 and below contain a race condition (TOCTOU) in src/net.c during the creation, validation, and execution of the Fido PowerShell script. Since Rufus runs with elevated privileges (Administrator) but writes the script to the %TEMP% directory (writeable by standard users) without locking the file, a local attacker can replace the legitimate script with a malicious one between the file write operation and the execution step. This allows arbitrary code execution with Administrator privileges. This issue has been fixed in version 4.12_BETA.
