  • Oct 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cifs: don't update i_size in cifs_do_truncate without a cached handle If find_writable_filCVE-2026-99137 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cifs: don't update i_size in cifs_do_truncate without a cached handle If find_writable_file() returns null, cifs_file_flush will return 0 without issuing set_file_size, and the outer 'if (!rc)' block will set i_size to 0 before telling the server to truncate. If the cifs_open() then fails, the inode will have size 0, while the server file is unchanged. Move the netfs_resize_file() and cifs_setsize() into the 'if (cfile)', so they only run after a successful set_file_size. In the no-handle else branch, evict stale pages with truncate_inode_pages before the O_TRUNC open to dispose of old cache pages, and let the open response set the i_size.

  • Oct 27, 2026In `github.com/eclipse-keypont/crypto11/v2` versions `>= 2.0.0-rc3, <= 2.0.0-rc8`, the ML-KEM key-pair lookup functions (`FindMLKEMKeyPair`, `FindMLKEMKeyPairs`CVE-2026-115408 · Other software · Eclipse Foundation · reported by emo@eclipse.orgMedium 5.5

    In `github.com/eclipse-keypont/crypto11/v2` versions `>= 2.0.0-rc3, <= 2.0.0-rc8`, the ML-KEM key-pair lookup functions (`FindMLKEMKeyPair`, `FindMLKEMKeyPairs`, `FindMLKEMKeyPairsWithAttributes`) locate the public half of an ML-KEM key pair by `CKA_ID`/`CKA_LABEL` and never verify it against the private key. In addition, the "ID only" fallback search runs even when the private key has no `CKA_ID`, so the search template reduces to the public-key class and the ML-KEM key type and the first ML-KEM public key on the token is returned. `Encapsulate()` on the resulting key pair encrypts the fresh shared secret to that key, so its owner — not the holder of the private key the caller looked up — can recover the secret. An attacker who can open an unauthenticated session on the token and plant a public `CKK_ML_KEM` object carrying the victim's `CKA_ID`/`CKA_LABEL` receives the shared secrets for encapsulations performed through the substituted key pair, compromising the confidentiality of those secrets and of everything protected by keys derived from them. The v1 module paths have no ML-KEM support and are not affected.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tipc: hold a reference to nodes found by link name tipc_node_find_by_name() returns a node after dropping its RCU read lock without taking a reference. The LINK_SET, LINK_GET and LINK_RESET_STATS handlers then lock and access the node, racing with timer-driven cleanup of a down peer. Generic netlink serialization does not exclude the node timer. The following interleaving can leave a handler using a freed node: CPU 0: find the node under RCU and release the node read lock CPU 1: tipc_node_timeout() clears the links and unlinks the down node CPU 1: drop the list and timer references, queuing tipc_node_free() CPU 0: leave the RCU read-side critical section CPU 1: complete the grace period and free the node CPU 0: acquire the node lock through the stale pointer LINK_SET also uses the node's media address after releasing the node lock, when passing queued packets to tipc_bearer_xmit(). • Oct 21, 2026The Discovery naming-service reply parser in Apache bRPC (versions < 1.18.0) calls RapidJSON object-only accessors (FindMember) on JSON values without first valCVE-2026-87849 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgMedium 4.3

    The Discovery naming-service reply parser in Apache bRPC (versions < 1.18.0) calls RapidJSON object-only accessors (FindMember) on JSON values without first validating that those values are objects. A malformed Discovery response whose data/service members or instances list contain non-object entries (e.g. a bare integer) triggers the RapidJSON object-access precondition on the client, reading memory out of bounds and potentially crashing the bRPC client. Root Cause: In src/brpc/policy/discovery_naming_service.cpp, DiscoveryNamingService::GetServers() and DiscoveryNames::ListDiscoveryNodes() access JSON values with member functions on non-object values. RapidJSON only defines these operations for object types; invoking them on a non-object violates the class invariant and results in undefined behavior (out-of-bounds read), commonly crashing the process. Affected Scenarios: An operator-configured (or compromised) Discovery backend returns a malformed /discovery/nodes or /discovery/fetchs response whose data/service/instance entries are not JSON objects, crashing any bRPC client that refreshes its server list. How to Fix: 1. Upgrade bRPC to version 1.18.0 or later, which fixes th

  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: s390: Fix potential races in dat skey functions When dat_cond_set_storage_key() findsCVE-2026-98650 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: s390: Fix potential races in dat skey functions When dat_cond_set_storage_key() finds a large page, it will conditionally set the storage key in absolute memory using large_crste_to_phys() to get the absolute address. There is a race window between dat_entry_walk() and large_crste_to_phys(): the large page could have been split concurrently, and large_crste_to_phys() might be called with a crste that does not designate a large page, leading to crashes. Similar issues were also present in dat_set_storage_key(). dat_get_storage_key() and dat_reset_reference_bit() did instead check for a potential concurrent splitting of the large page, but then handled it incorrectly. Fix by performing a READ_ONCE on the crste pointer, checking and using the result, instead of dereferencing the pointer again. In case a race is detacted, try dat_entry_walk() again.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: eth: fbnic: use the Rx queue napi pointer to find the napi vector The queue management ndos pick the napi vector for an Rx queue with: nv = fbn->napi[idx % fbn->num_napi]; The issue is this is only correct in the cases where there are no standalone Tx vectors. In those cases we were allocating the Tx vectors first and then the Rx so the queues would be pointing to Tx NAPI vectors instead of the Rx ones. The mapping the ndos want is already recorded. fbnic_set_netif_napi() publishes it with netif_queue_set_napi(), which stores the napi pointer in netdev_rx_queue.napi, and fbnic_reset_netif_napi() clears it again. Both run under the netdev instance lock that the queue management ndos also hold, so the pointer can be read directly. Use it and drop the divide. The pointer is NULL exactly while the datapath is down, so fbnic_queue_mem_alloc() can reject that case rather than reaching into freed state: netdev_rx_queue_restart() calls it before it tests netif_running(), and fbnic_pm_suspend() leaves netif_running() true across a PCIe recovery that never completes, so a queue restart can arrive after fbnic_stop() h

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: use finish_no_open() for non-regular inodes An O_CREAT open can find an existing symlink or another non-regular inode. cifs_atomic_open() calls finish_open() on it and attaches a cifsFileInfo. Symlink inodes have no CIFS release operation, so the dentry reference held by cifsFileInfo is leaked. FMODE_OPENED also prevents the VFS from following the symlink. Track whether cifs_do_create() returned an open server handle. For non-regular inodes, close the handle if present, remove the pending open, and call finish_no_open() so the VFS can continue the lookup. Do not set FMODE_CREATED unless a regular file was opened. For O_NOFOLLOW with __O_REGULAR, return -ELOOP before the VFS's -EFTYPE check. Defer closing a legacy POSIX handle on a non-regular inode until after inode lookup. This avoids closing it again if lookup fails.

  • Oct 16, 2026Wheels 4.0.0 through 4.1.2 before 4.2.0 replaces incoming scope conditions with a primary-key condition in findByKey() and exists(key=).CVE-2026-111445 · Other software · Wheels · reported by MITREHigh 8.1

    Wheels 4.0.0 through 4.1.2 before 4.2.0 replaces incoming scope conditions with a primary-key condition in findByKey() and exists(key=). For exists(key=), production with error information disabled returns true for an out-of-scope key instead of throwing. Applications relying on scopes for ownership or tenant authorization can therefore load and subsequently modify or delete another user's or tenant's record when the key comes from a request. The 4.2.0 fix combines key conditions with incoming scope, query-builder or where conditions in findByKey(), exists(key=), updateByKey() and deleteByKey(). Other scope-aware finders, aggregates, updateAll() and deleteAll() are not affected.

  • Oct 15, 2026Wheels 1.1.8 through 4.1.1 allows SQL injection when caller-supplied quoted values are parsed again as SQL by dynamic finders (such as findOneByEmail), the querCVE-2026-110911 · Other software · Wheels · reported by MITRECritical 9.8

    Wheels 1.1.8 through 4.1.1 allows SQL injection when caller-supplied quoted values are parsed again as SQL by dynamic finders (such as findOneByEmail), the query builder's where(property, value) and where(property, operator, value), string/UUID-key lookup paths (findByKey, updateByKey, deleteByKey and findOrCreateBy...), and validatesUniquenessOf. The parser incorrectly treats a doubled single quote as the end of a literal. Applications passing request data to these APIs can expose authentication, password-reset or token lookups, and data to unauthorized access; numeric-column values are not affected. There is a similar concern for query-builder whereBetween() in 4.0.0 through 4.1.1: string/date bounds can alter SQL on MySQL/MariaDB with backslash escaping enabled. This is fixed in 4.1.2.

The helper prototype does not set might_sleep, so the verifier allows the helper in non-sleepable contexts such as BPF timer callbacks. The fd allocation can then sleep in softirq context and install the fd into the interrupted task. Mark the helper as sleepable. This preserves calls from the main body of a sleepable syscall program while rejecting calls from its non-sleepable regions.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs3: fix out-of-bounds read in ntfs_dir_emit() and hdr_find_e() The bounds check in ntfs_dir_emit() compares fname->name_len (a character count) against e->size (a byte count) without accounting for the 2-byte-per-character UTF-16LE encoding or the ATTR_FILE_NAME header size: if (fname->name_len + sizeof(struct NTFS_DE) > le16_to_cpu(e->size)) This computes: name_len + 16 > e_size The correct check must account for the ATTR_FILE_NAME header (66 bytes before the name) and the UTF-16LE character size (2 bytes each): sizeof(NTFS_DE) + offsetof(ATTR_FILE_NAME, name) + name_len * sizeof(short) > e_size Which computes: 16 + 66 + name_len * 2 > e_size The correct calculation already exists as fname_full_size() in ntfs.h and is used in cmp_fnames(), namei.c, and fslog.c, but was not used in the readdir path. A crafted NTFS image with an index entry containing a small e->size but large fname->name_len bypasses the current check, causing ntfs_utf16_to_nls() to read past the entry boundary. Additionally, add a key_size validation in hdr_find_e() to ensure the declared key_size does not exceed the available e

    TypeDeserializerBase._findDeserializer() in FasterXML jackson-databind caches the resolved deserializer under the raw, attacker-supplied type ID. When name-based polymorphism is configured with a fallback, for example @JsonTypeInfo(use = Id.NAME, defaultImpl = ...), every distinct unrecognized type ID resolves to the same fallback deserializer but is retained as its own key in the _deserializers map. That map has no configurable bound and lives for the lifetime of the type deserializer, so an attacker who can repeatedly supply fresh unknown type IDs causes monotonic memory retention across requests. The reporter observed 10,000 retained entries from 10,000 distinct unknown IDs, against a single entry for a control that repeated one unknown ID the same number of times, isolating attacker-controlled key cardinality from request volume. Exploitation requires an application that enables name-based polymorphism with a defaultImpl or equivalent fallback, accepts attacker-influenced type IDs, and reuses a long-lived ObjectMapper across requests. The fix stops caching fallback resolutions for unrecognized IDs and bounds both the number of cached entries and the length of a cacheable type I

    The findOrgImage method in MISP's OrgImgHelper constructs a filesystem path by concatenating a user-supplied organization identifier with a fixed image directory and a file extension, then calls file_exists() on the resulting path. The organization name field is attacker-controllable through event import, which sets Org.name. Because no validation was performed on the field value before path construction, an organization name containing directory traversal sequences (e.g., ../../etc/passwd) would cause the path to resolve outside the intended org-image directory.  This yields two security impacts:   - an arbitrary file existence oracle, since file_exists() returns a boolean for any path the process can access.  - an arbitrary file read limited to files with .png or .svg extensions, because the resolved filename is returned and subsequently rendered or served to the requesting user. The vulnerability requires an authenticated user with the ability to create or import events that set the organization name.

    In MISP, the queryEnrichment method in EventsController.php accepted a module name parameter and iterated over the list of enabled modules to find a match. If the specified module was not present in the enabled modules list, the code silently continued processing using default parameters (format set to 'simplified' and no module-specific configuration applied) rather than rejecting the request. This allowed an authenticated user to trigger enrichment or analysis processing through a module that was not explicitly enabled or available on the instance, bypassing the intended module availability controls. The lack of validation meant that module names outside the enabled set were not rejected, potentially exposing functionality or data processing paths that the administrator had not authorized for use.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: firmware: arm_scmi: Fix SCMI device destroy lifetimes scmi_child_dev_find() drops the reference returned by device_find_child() before returning the scmi_device pointer. A concurrent unregister can then release the device while the destroy path is still using the returned pointer. Make the lookup helper return the device_find_child() reference and keep it until scmi_device_destroy() has finished unregistering the child. Also split device_unregister() in __scmi_device_destroy() so the SCMI bus ID is not made reusable until after device_del() has removed the old scmi_dev.N name from sysfs. This avoids a new SCMI device reusing the same ID while the old device is still registered. The final device release callback is also a possible cleanup path when SCMI children are deleted by driver core recursion rather than __scmi_device_destroy(). Release the SCMI bus ID from a common helper used by destroy, register-failure and final-release paths, and clear scmi_dev->id after freeing it so the final release cannot free the same ID again.

The deadlock occurs between the running transaction and the eviction thread: - Task 1 (stress-ng): Holds a reference to a shared mbcache_entry (ce) and calls ext4_xattr_inode_cache_find() -> ext4_iget() to retrieve the corresponding EA inode. Since the EA inode is currently being evicted, ext4_iget() blocks in __wait_on_freeing_inode() waiting for eviction to complete. - Task 2 (eviction thread): Currently evicting the same EA inode in ext4_evict_ea_inode(). It calls mb_cache_entry_wait_unused(oe) which blocks waiting for Task 1 to release the reference to the mbcache_entry. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-tcp: check the data direction of a C2HData PDU nvme_tcp_handle_c2h_data() finds the request by command id and checks that it has a payload, but it does not check that the command asked for data to be read. A controller that answers a write command with C2HData therefore reaches nvme_tcp_recv_data(), where _copy_to_iter() hits WARN_ON_ONCE(i->data_source) and returns 0. The receive path turns that into -EFAULT and resets the controller. No data is copied, so this is not memory corruption. What a controller gets is a kernel warning it can raise at will, which is fatal on a host booted with panic_on_warn. The send path already knows the direction - it consults rq_data_dir() when it builds a command - and nvme_tcp_handle_r2t() checks the length and the offset of the request it names. The C2HData path does not check the direction at all. Reject a C2HData PDU whose command is not a read. Rejecting it fails the command and resets the controller, as the neighbouring check in this function does; what goes away is the warning. A crafted (or corrupted) refcount block with rl_used == 0xffff makes the loop above walk far past the end of the block, dereferencing rl_recs[i] for i up to 65534. The resulting index is then handed to the sibling ocfs2_insert_refcount_rec(), whose insert-shift does: if (index < le16_to_cpu(rf_list->rl_used)) memmove(&rf_list->rl_recs[index + 1], &rf_list->rl_recs[index], (le16_to_cpu(rf_list->rl_used) - index) * sizeof(struct ocfs

    The two built-in name-finder patterns exposed by opennlp.tools.namefind.RegexNameFinderFactory - DEFAULT_REGEX_NAME_FINDER.EMAIL and DEFAULT_REGEX_NAME_FINDER.URL - contain ambiguous nested quantifiers. An application that obtains these finders through RegexNameFinderFactory.getDefaultRegexNameFinders(...) and then applies them to untrusted text through RegexNameFinder.find(String[]) or RegexNameFinder.find(String) can be driven into super-linear backtracking or into unbounded matcher recursion by a small crafted input. For the EMAIL pattern, a long run of local-part characters that is never followed by an @ forces the matcher to re-scan to end-of-input from every starting offset. Cost grows quadratically with input length: an input of approximately 32 KB consumes several seconds of CPU in a single find() call and returns no match, and each doubling of the input multiplies the cost roughly four-fold. For the URL pattern, the query-string sub-expression nests a capturing repetition inside an outer repetition. The JDK matcher recurses once per query token, so an input of approximately 4 KB containing many &-separated tokens exhausts the thread stack and causes java.lang.Sta
