Oct 28, 2026Wing FTP Server does not verify user's base folder.CVE-2026-105420 · Other software · Wing Soft Technology · reported by cvd@cert.plCritical 9.4
Wing FTP Server does not verify user's base folder. An attacker with admin privileges can add user directories via scripts, allowing the added directories to escape the base folder. This allows the attacker to write files on the system and can lead to remote code execution with process owner privileges.Critically, since the installation guide mentions running the command with `sudo`, the files are created as “root.” This issue was fixed in version 8.2.6.

libcurl's TFTP state machine fails to validate state transitions against the requested transfer direction, accepting opening server responses for both reads and writes interchangeably. A malicious TFTP server can respond to a download request in a way that forces the client into transmit mode, prompting libcurl to consume and transmit data from the handle's persistent `CURLOPT_READDATA` pointer - including data remaining from unrelated prior operations, such as an HTTP POST request executed on a reused handle.

When an FTP wildcard `LIST` operation fails, libcurl omits the restoration path meant for successful listings, leaving the write callback set to the internal listing parser and the write callback data pointing directly to the easy handle. Subsequent reuse of this handle triggers an immediate crash, and cloning it via `curl_easy_duphandle()` copies this corrupted state into the duplicate. If the original handle is subsequently freed, executing a transfer on the cloned handle causes a heap use-after-free read against the dangling handle reference; alternatively, reusing the original or cloned handle while changing only `CURLOPT_WRITEDATA` (and omitting `CURLOPT_WRITEFUNCTION`) results in type confusion, forcing the internal parser to interpret incoming server response bytes into memory at the application-supplied write data pointer.

Oct 15, 2026The Apache Airflow SFTP provider's deferrable code paths (`SFTPTrigger`, `SFTPHookAsync`, `SFTPClientPool`) disable SSH host-key verification by default unless CVE-2026-94135 · Email & office · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgMedium 4.3
The Apache Airflow SFTP provider's deferrable code paths (`SFTPTrigger`, `SFTPHookAsync`, `SFTPClientPool`) disable SSH host-key verification by default unless the connection explicitly sets `no_host_key_check` to false. Deployments that run SFTP sensors or operators in deferrable mode are affected. An attacker in a machine-in-the-middle position between the triggerer and the SFTP server can impersonate the server and capture the credentials or data exchanged. Users of apache-airflow-providers-sftp are recommended to upgrade to apache-airflow-providers-sftp 7.0.0 or later. This is a separate defect from CVE-2026-94134 (the synchronous SSH hook default, which also affects the SFTP hook); users who applied the fix for one also need this release for the other - apache-airflow-providers-sftp 7.0.0 fixes both.

Oct 14, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/ipl: Fix NULL deref in kdump without re-IPL parm block Some IPL types, like HMC FTP bCVE-2026-98400 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/ipl: Fix NULL deref in kdump without re-IPL parm block Some IPL types, like HMC FTP boot or QEMU direct kernel boot, might not provide an IPL parameter block. In this case, reipl_type_init() selects IPL_TYPE_UNKNOWN, and reipl_block_actual remains NULL. kdump passes the re-IPL parameter block to the dump kernel through os_info. Before commit 3b9678472bab ("s390/ipl: correct kdump reipl block checksum calculation"), the os_info entry was added only for IPL types which initialized reipl_block_actual. That commit moved the os_info update to machine_crash_shutdown(), making it unconditional. As a result, set_os_info_reipl_block() dereferences reipl_block_actual for IPL_TYPE_UNKNOWN. This may happen to work by chance when address zero contains readable lowcore data and the resulting empty os_info entry is ignored by the dump kernel. Skip the os_info update when no re-IPL parameter block is available. Kdump then collect the dump and reboot without setting re-IPL parameter block.

Oct 13, 2026SFTPGo is an open source, event-driven file transfer solution.CVE-2026-103028 · Other software · drakkan · reported by GitHubMedium 4.3
SFTPGo is an open source, event-driven file transfer solution. From 2.5.0 until 2.7.6, an authenticated user with copy permission can copy a source file denied by denied_patterns or outside allowed_patterns to an allowed destination name because file-pattern filters are evaluated only on the destination. The user can then read the denied file contents. Recursive directory copies can reproduce restricted contents under an allowed path, and the hide policy is bypassed because files that appear missing to stat and directory listings can still be copied. Home-directory boundaries, virtual-folder layout, per-directory permissions, access to other accounts, and administrative authorization remain enforced. This issue is fixed in 2.7.6.

Sep 30, 2026basic-ftp is an FTP client for Node.js.CVE-2026-102990 · Other software · patrickjuchli · reported by GitHubHigh 8.2
basic-ftp is an FTP client for Node.js. Prior to 6.2.1, Client.list() can be forced by a malicious or compromised FTP server to spend quadratic CPU time parsing a directory listing because the RE_LINE expression in src/parseListUnix.ts backtracks across adjacent variable-length owner and group fields when a long Unix-style line has a valid prefix but cannot satisfy the later size and date fields. parseList() selects a parser from the last nonblank line and then applies it to every line, so a normal final line can select the Unix parser while an earlier crafted line blocks the Node.js event loop and freezes the process. This issue is fixed in version 6.2.1.

Server-side memory exhaustion in Apache MINA SSHD 1.0.0 to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5, component sshd-sftp, in the SFTP v6 check-file-name/check-file-handle extension. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. Using a very small "block size" (for instance 256, which is the minimum) on a huge file generates many (file size / block size) hashes. The resulting SFTP reply message was accumulated fully in memory server-side, which could, with a suitably large (possibly sparse) file exhaust the server-side memory, taking down the server. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue by imposing a maximum limit on the size of the reply. Many SFTP implementations have a general limit on the size of SFTP messages anyway; typically 256kB as in OpenSSH or also in Apache MINA SSHD.

A TFTP server that answers with a short ERROR packet makes the client read up to 64 bytes past the received datagram. Two things follow from that one missing check, both reachable before any authentication because TFTP has none. The handler passes `nx_packet_length - 4` straight to FileX: ```c /* addons/tftp/nxd_tftp_server.c:1863, 1889 */ status = nx_packet_copy(packet_ptr, &temp_ptr, server_ptr -> nx_tftp_server_packet_pool_ptr, NX_WAIT_FOREVER); ... fx_file_write(&(client_request_ptr -> nx_tftp_client_request_file), packet_ptr -> nx_packet_prepend_ptr + 4, packet_ptr -> nx_packet_length - 4); ``` `nx_packet_length` is the length of a chain, not of one contiguous buffer, so FileX copies past the end of the first packet: ``` ERROR: AddressSanitizer: heap-buffer-overflow READ of size 1280 at 0x621000001108 thread T5 #0 __interceptor_memcpy #1 _fx_utility_memory_copy filex/common/src/fx_utility_memory_copy.c:78 0x621000001108 is 0 bytes

Sep 26, 2026Froxlor through 2.3.10 is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion via symlink following in the FTP data deletion cron task.CVE-2026-100715 · Other software · froxlor · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.5
Froxlor through 2.3.10 is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion via symlink following in the FTP data deletion cron task. Cron task 8 (deleteFtpData), queued when an FTP account is deleted, calls FileDir::makeCorrectDir() without the $fixed_homedir argument, so the symlink component walk is skipped, and then executes 'rm -rf' as root on the resulting path with string-level guards only. Because makeCorrectDir() appends a trailing slash, GNU rm dereferences a symlink used either as an intermediate path component or as the final component. An authenticated customer who can write to the FTP home directory can plant a symlink between task insertion and cron execution, causing the root cron job to recursively delete arbitrary directory trees, resulting in cross-tenant data destruction and host denial of service. This issue is fixed in Froxlor 2.3.12.

Sep 24, 2026copyparty contains a volume restriction bypass vulnerability in its SFTP front end that allows authenticated SFTP users to create, remove, and truncate arbitrarCVE-2026-93353 · Other software · 9001 · reported by VulnCheckLow 2.3
copyparty contains a volume restriction bypass vulnerability in its SFTP front end that allows authenticated SFTP users to create, remove, and truncate arbitrary paths outside permitted volume boundaries by exploiting three handlers that bypass the xvol volflag enforcement. The _mkdir, _rmdir, and _chattr handlers construct destination paths using vfs.get(), vn.canonical(), and os.path.join() without invoking the chk_ap access check, enabling attackers to traverse symlinks leaving a volume's top directory and perform unauthorized file creation, deletion, or truncation via SSH_FXP_SETSTAT operations on paths outside any volume the account is authorized to access.

Sep 22, 2026A heap-based buffer overflow was found in the DHCPv6 and TFTP response builders of libslirp.CVE-2026-95508 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatHigh 7.4
A heap-based buffer overflow was found in the DHCPv6 and TFTP response builders of libslirp. When the host is configured with a small interface MTU, a guest-supplied DHCPv6 CLIENTID option or TFTP blksize option can overflow the reply buffer with attacker-controlled content and length, resulting in denial of service and potentially arbitrary code execution in the host process. The default interface MTU is not affected.

Sep 17, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipvs: fix integer overflow in ftp helper port/address parsing ip_vs_ftp_get_addrport() accCVE-2026-90141 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.3
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipvs: fix integer overflow in ftp helper port/address parsing ip_vs_ftp_get_addrport() accumulates decimal digits into a __u16 (hport) and into unsigned char (p[]) without checking for overflow. A crafted FTP PASV/EPSV response with an over-long port or address octet wraps the value, so the helper configures the data connection with a truncated port/address. The netfilter conntrack FTP helper had the same defect, fixed in commit 2b413fc689ba ("netfilter: nf_conntrack_ftp: avoid u16 overflows"). Apply the equivalent fix here: widen the port accumulator to u32 and reject values above 65535, and reject address octets above 255.

Sep 15, 2026A flaw was found in tftp-hpa.CVE-2026-85234 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatHigh 7.5
A flaw was found in tftp-hpa. When the `in.tftpd` remap engine processes an inverse remap rule that also aborts with a non-empty custom error message, it can pass invalid match offsets to the `genmatchstring()` function. This leads to out-of-bounds read/write operations. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted request, causing the daemon to crash and resulting in a denial of service.

Sep 14, 2026MikroTik RouterOS before 7.23.4 (long-term) and 7.24.2 (stable) contains a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the mtget binary's TFTP RRQ builder funcCVE-2026-89020 · Network & remote access · MikroTik · reported by VulnCheckMedium 5.3
MikroTik RouterOS before 7.23.4 (long-term) and 7.24.2 (stable) contains a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the mtget binary's TFTP RRQ builder function that allows authenticated users to crash the mtget worker process by supplying a URL path of 507 bytes or more to the /tool fetch command; the first write outside the 528-byte buffer occurs at 505 bytes. Attackers can trigger the overflow by issuing a fetch command with a crafted tftp:// URL path, which causes an unbounded rep movsb instruction to overwrite saved registers at a deterministic offset, crashing the process without requiring a reachable TFTP server or elevated privileges beyond read-only group membership.

Sep 14, 2026Froxlor before 2.2.0 (affected up to and including 2.2.0-rc3) generates /etc/pure-ftpd/db/mysql.conf with mode 0644 via the XML configuration templates in lib/cCVE-2024-58383 · Other software · froxlor · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.4
Froxlor before 2.2.0 (affected up to and including 2.2.0-rc3) generates /etc/pure-ftpd/db/mysql.conf with mode 0644 via the XML configuration templates in lib/configfiles/, even though the file contains the Froxlor SQL user's password. On systems where the parent directories are world readable (the default on Debian 12), any unprivileged local user able to execute commands or code on the host — including virtual users without SSH access who can upload PHP/CGI scripts — can read the file and obtain the Froxlor database credentials. Database access can then be leveraged to alter an administrator's password hash and TOTP seed, log in as a Froxlor administrator, and ultimately gain root privileges. Only instances configured to use pure-ftpd are affected.

Sep 7, 2026The ftp and scp tasks of Apache Ant can download files from a remote server.CVE-2026-78254 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 7.4
The ftp and scp tasks of Apache Ant can download files from a remote server. A malicious server can provide relative paths that allow it to write outside of the dedicated target directory for the download, making it possible to overwrite files of the attacker's choice using the permissions of the user running Ant in versions prior to Ant 1.10.18. In order to exploit this vulnerability, the server would either have to be malicious or be subject to a machine-in-the-middle attack. Additionally in the case of scp or the ftp task using ftps the server must pass the server identity checks performed by the tasks. For ftp tasks not using ftps a malicious server could act as a machine-in-the-middle to provide malicious files. Starting with Ant 1.10.18 both tasks will prevent writing outside of the destination directory by default. An option is available to disable this behavior in the unlikely case that the old behavior is required by existing build files. Mitigations: Users of scp and ftp (when using ftps) in any version of Ant should not bypass server identity checks. Users of ftp not using ftps should switch to ftps where possible. All users are recommended to u

Sep 1, 2026A flaw was found in the SFTP backend in gvfs.CVE-2026-84268 · Other software · GNOME · reported by Red HatHigh 8.8
A flaw was found in the SFTP backend in gvfs. When mounting a share and reading a file, a malicious SFTP server can cause read_reply() to process a length that exceeds the size requested by the client. The function does not verify the server-provided length against the allocated buffer size, causing the operation to write past the intended boundaries. This issue allows a malicious server to corrupt adjacent heap memory in the gvfsd-sftp process, resulting in a denial of service as the process aborts upon detecting the heap corruption or potentially allowing arbitrary code execution.

Sep 1, 2026A flaw was found in the SFTP backend in gvfs.CVE-2026-84267 · Other software · GNOME · reported by Red HatMedium 4.3
A flaw was found in the SFTP backend in gvfs. When mounting a share, a malicious SFTP server can cause read_string() to allocate a buffer with a certain length but the function does not verify that the buffer is completely filled, leaving the remainder of the buffer containing uninitialized heap contents. If the server sends a short FXP_HANDLE reply, these uninitialized bytes are taken as the file handle. The client will then echo these uninitialized bytes back to the server on all subsequent requests using that handle. With a length of 128 bytes, this issue allows the malicious server to deterministically read uninitialized heap memory from the gvfsd-sftp process, leaking its heap base and the load address of the libgio library, resulting in a deterministic defeat of Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR).
