  • Oct 28, 2026Gearboy is a Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Super Game Boy emulator and debugger with an embedded MCP server.CVE-2026-61542 · Other software · drhelius · reported by GitHubHigh 8.6

    Gearboy is a Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Super Game Boy emulator and debugger with an embedded MCP server. Gearsystem, the affected component, has an optional `--mcp-http` mode that accepts unauthenticated MCP requests from any reachable network peer despite localhost-only documentation and logging. In the described `platforms/shared/desktop/mcp/mcp_transport.h` transport, the socket binds `INADDR_ANY`, normally on port 7777, and POST requests to `/mcp` reach dispatch without `Authorization`, `Host`, or `Origin` checks. Responses and OPTIONS advertise `Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *`. A peer can initialize an MCP session and invoke exposed emulator/debugging operations; even a garbage bearer token does not block dispatch, while a loopback-bind negative control prevents network access. The reported impact is bounded to the emulator process, debugging state, and local files accepted as media, rather than demonstrated host code execution. Gearboy 3.8.7 contains a patch.

  • Oct 9, 2026A reachable assertion in the illumos bhyve instruction emulator allows a guest to panic the host.CVE-2026-102916 · Other software · illumos · reported by 0ca53633-f0b5-4853-ba72-e0a2e62000d0Medium 6.8

    A reachable assertion in the illumos bhyve instruction emulator allows a guest to panic the host. When emulating a REP-prefixed MOVS or STOS instruction that accesses guest MMIO, vie_emulate_movs() and vie_emulate_stos() in usr/src/uts/intel/io/vmm/vmm_instruction_emul.c do not clear the VIES_REPEAT status flag on the final iteration. For MMIO regions emulated in the kernel (the local APIC, I/O APIC and HPET), the stale flag causes a VERIFY assertion in vie_advance_pc() to fail, and the host panics. A privileged user within a guest VM can issue a REP MOVS or REP STOS instruction against the local APIC page to cause a denial of service of the host and every other guest running on it. The flaw has existed since 2020 (illumos-gate commit e0c0d44e), and affects any illumos distribution prior to illumos-gate commit 696ecf8d.

  • Sep 11, 2026A symlink-following flaw was found in libvirt's qemuTPMEmulatorPrepareHost() function.CVE-2026-77159 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 5.5

    A symlink-following flaw was found in libvirt's qemuTPMEmulatorPrepareHost() function. The function uses a path-based chown() on the swtpm logfile without checking for symbolic links. A local attacker with access to the swtpm account can replace the logfile with a symlink, causing libvirtd (running as root) to transfer ownership of an arbitrary file to the swtpm user.

  • Aug 10, 2026Tabby (formerly Terminus) is a highly configurable terminal emulator.CVE-2026-72903 · Other software · Eugeny · reported by GitHubHigh 8.1

    Tabby (formerly Terminus) is a highly configurable terminal emulator. Prior to 1.0.235, a malicious SFTP server can return a backslash traversal filename through entry.name. In tabby-ssh/src/session/sftp.ts, SFTPSession.readdir() and _makeFile() use POSIX path processing that preserves the backslashes as ordinary filename characters. In tabby-ssh/src/components/sftpPanel.component.ts, downloadFolderRecursive() propagates item.name into the local relative path. In tabby-electron/src/services/platform.service.ts, ElectronDirectoryDownload.createFile() passes that path to Windows-native path.join(), and in tabby-electron/src/sftpContextMenu.ts, EditSFTPContextMenu.edit() passes item.name to path.join() for the temporary edit path. Windows interprets the preserved backslashes and parent-directory components as traversal, allowing attacker-controlled content to be created or overwritten outside the selected download directory or temporary edit directory. This issue is fixed in version 1.0.235.

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: x86: wean fast IN from emulator_pio_in Use __emulator_pio_in() directly for fast PIO instead of bouncing through emulator_pio_in() now that __emulator_pio_in() fills "val" when handling in-kernel PIO. vcpu->arch.pio.count is guaranteed to be '0', so this a pure nop. emulator_pio_in_emulated is now the last caller of emulator_pio_in. • Jul 15, 2026Tabby (formerly Terminus) is a highly configurable terminal emulator.CVE-2026-46709 · Other software · Eugeny · reported by GitHubHigh 7.8

    Tabby (formerly Terminus) is a highly configurable terminal emulator. Prior to 1.0.234, Tabby inserts dropped file paths from tabby-electron/src/pathDrop.ts into the active shell without neutralizing command substitution metacharacters such as $(…) and `…`, so the incomplete CVE-2026-45038 fix for control characters still allows code execution when the victim presses Enter. Tabby (formerly Terminus) is a highly configurable terminal emulator. Prior to 1.0.232, Tabby's terminal linkifier passes any detected URI directly to the operating system's protocol handler without validating the protocol scheme. This allows a malicious SSH or Telnet server to send crafted terminal output containing dangerous protocol URIs which Tabby renders as clickable links, triggering arbitrary OS protocol handlers on the victim's machine. • May 15, 2026Tabby (formerly Terminus) is a highly configurable terminal emulator.CVE-2026-45036 · Other software · Eugeny · reported by GitHubHigh 7

    Tabby (formerly Terminus) is a highly configurable terminal emulator. Prior to 1.0.233, Tabby before 1.0.233 automatically confirms ZMODEM protocol detection on all terminal session output without user interaction, enabling shell command execution when a user displays attacker-controlled content. The ZModemMiddleware in tabby-terminal consumes all session output through a Zmodem.Sentry, and when a ZMODEM ZRQINIT header is detected, unconditionally calls detection.confirm() and writes a fixed ZRINIT response ( **\x18B0100000023be50\r\n\x11) back into the active PTY as input. When the process that triggered the detection (e.g., cat) exits, the injected bytes are consumed by the user's shell as a command line. Under fish (default configuration), the ** prefix triggers recursive glob expansion against the current directory, allowing an attacker-placed executable at a matching nested path (e.g., d/xB0100000023be50) to be executed by relative pathname without relying on PATH. Under bash and zsh, a secondary xterm.js terminal color-query feedback (OSC 10) can be combined in the same file to inject a slash-containing command word that similarly bypasses PATH resolution. • May 15, 2026Tabby (formerly Terminus) is a highly configurable terminal emulator.CVE-2026-45035 · Other software · Eugeny · reported by GitHubCritical 9.4

    Tabby (formerly Terminus) is a highly configurable terminal emulator. Prior to 1.0.233, Tabby registers itself as the handler for the tabby:// URL scheme on all platforms. The URL scheme handler supports a run command that directly executes OS commands with no user confirmation, sanitization, or sandboxing. An attacker can craft a malicious link (tabby://run?command=...) and deliver it via a website, email, chat message, or any other medium. When a victim clicks the link, the OS launches Tabby which immediately spawns the specified command as a child process with the user's full privileges. This is a zero-click-after-link-visit RCE vulnerability. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.0.233.

  • Mar 10, 2026Ghostty is a cross-platform terminal emulator.CVE-2026-26982 · Other software · ghostty-org · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

    Ghostty is a cross-platform terminal emulator. Ghostty allows control characters such as 0x03 (Ctrl+C) in pasted and dropped text. These can be used to execute arbitrary commands in some shell environments. This attack requires an attacker to convince the user to copy and paste or drag and drop malicious text. The attack requires user interaction to be triggered, but the dangerous characters are invisible in most GUI environments so it isn't trivially detected, especially if the string contents are complex. • Dec 12, 2025PCSX2 is a free and open-source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator.CVE-2025-67749 · Other software · PCSX2 · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3

    PCSX2 is a free and open-source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator. In versions 2.5.377 and below, an unchecked offset and size used in a memcpy operation inside PCSX2's CDVD SCMD 0x91 and SCMD 0x8F handlers allow a specially crafted disc image or ELF to cause an out-of-bounds read from emulator memory. Because the offset and size is controlled through MG header fields, a specially crafted ELF can read data beyond the bounds of mg_buffer and have it reflected back into emulated memory. • Dec 26, 2024Tabby (formerly Terminus) is a highly configurable terminal emulator.CVE-2024-55950 · Other software · Eugeny · reported by GitHubHigh 8.6

    Tabby (formerly Terminus) is a highly configurable terminal emulator. Prior to 1.0.216, Tabby terminal emulator contains overly permissive entitlements that are unnecessary for its core functionality and plugin system, creating potential security vulnerabilities. The application currently holds powerful permissions including camera, microphone access, and the ability to access personal folders (Downloads, Documents, etc.) through Apple Events, while also maintaining dangerous entitlements that enable code injection. The concerning entitlements are com.apple.security.cs.allow-dyld-environment-variables and com.apple.security.cs.disable-library-validation. Since Tabby's plugins and themes are NodeJS-based without native libraries or frameworks, and no environment variables are used in the codebase, it is recommended to review and remove at least one of the entitlements (com.apple.security.cs.disable-library-validation or com.apple.security.cs.allow-dyld-environment-variables) to prevent DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES injection while maintaining full application functionality. • Dec 30, 2021jQuery Terminal Emulator is a plugin for creating command line interpreters in your applications.CVE-2021-43862 · Other software · jcubic · reported by GitHubLow 3.7

    jQuery Terminal Emulator is a plugin for creating command line interpreters in your applications. Versions prior to 2.31.1 contain a low impact and limited cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability. The code for XSS payload is always visible, but an attacker can use other techniques to hide the code the victim sees. If the application uses the `execHash` option and executes code from URL, the attacker can use this URL to execute their code. The scope is limited because the javascript attribute used is added to span tag, so no automatic execution like with `onerror` on images is possible. This issue is fixed in version 2.31.1. As a workaround, the user can use formatting that wrap whole user input and its no op. The code for this workaround is available in the GitHub Security Advisory. The fix will only work when user of the library is not using different formatters (e.g. to highlight code in different way).
