Sep 24, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mmc: davinci: avoid NULL deref of host->data in IRQ handler mmc_davinci_irq() returns earlCVE-2026-97502 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mmc: davinci: avoid NULL deref of host->data in IRQ handler mmc_davinci_irq() returns early only when both host->cmd and host->data are NULL: if (host->cmd == NULL && host->data == NULL) { ... return IRQ_NONE; } So we may legitimately reach the rest of the handler with host->data == NULL (and therefore data == NULL). The DATDNE branch already guards against this with an explicit "if (data != NULL)" check, but the subsequent TOUTRD ("read data timeout") and CRCWR/CRCRD ("data CRC error") branches dereference data unconditionally: if (qstatus & MMCST0_TOUTRD) { data->error = -ETIMEDOUT; <-- NULL deref ... davinci_abort_data(host, data); } if (qstatus & (MMCST0_CRCWR | MMCST0_CRCRD)) { data->error = -EILSEQ; <-- NULL deref ... } If either bit is set in qstatus while host->data is NULL, the kernel will crash inside the IRQ handler. smatch flags this: drivers/mmc/host/davinci_mmc.c:933 mmc_davinci_irq() error: we previously assumed 'data' could be null (see line 914) Gate both branches on a non-NULL data, ma

Sep 17, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: spi: davinci: switch to managed controller allocation The controller is allocated with theCVE-2026-90410 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: spi: davinci: switch to managed controller allocation The controller is allocated with the non-managed spi_alloc_host() while the interrupt is registered with devm_request_threaded_irq(). During removal, spi_bitbang_stop() only unregisters the controller; the subsequent spi_controller_put() then frees the controller together with its embedded davinci_spi devdata, which is the IRQ handler's dev_id. The devm_request_threaded_irq() release action (free_irq()), which drains the handler, does not run until after .remove() returns. A late or latched interrupt can therefore reach davinci_spi_irq() and dereference already-freed memory. Switch to devm_spi_alloc_host() so that the devres LIFO order releases the controller only after free_irq() has drained the handler, and drop the now-redundant spi_controller_put() from .remove(). The probe error path is simplified to direct returns. The clock is acquired with devm_clk_get_enabled(), which is registered after the IRQ and thus released before it by the devres LIFO order. Drain the interrupt explicitly with devm_free_irq() before disabling the controller so that a late

Jul 24, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i2c: davinci: fix division by zero on missing clock-frequency When the 'clock-frequency' pCVE-2026-64236 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i2c: davinci: fix division by zero on missing clock-frequency When the 'clock-frequency' property is missing from the device tree, the driver falls back to DAVINCI_I2C_DEFAULT_BUS_FREQ. However, this macro was defined in kHz (100), whereas the device tree property is expected in Hz. The probe function divided the fallback value by 1000, causing integer truncation that resulted in dev->bus_freq = 0. This triggered a deterministic division-by-zero kernel panic when calculating clock dividers later in the probe sequence. Fix this by redefining DAVINCI_I2C_DEFAULT_BUS_FREQ in Hz (100000) to match the expected device tree property unit, allowing the existing division logic to work correctly for both cases.

Aug 22, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clk: davinci: Add NULL check in davinci_lpsc_clk_register() devm_kasprintf() returns NULL CVE-2025-38635 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clk: davinci: Add NULL check in davinci_lpsc_clk_register() devm_kasprintf() returns NULL when memory allocation fails. Currently, davinci_lpsc_clk_register() does not check for this case, which results in a NULL pointer dereference. Add NULL check after devm_kasprintf() to prevent this issue and ensuring no resources are left allocated.

May 29, 2025Use of entitlement "com.apple.security.cs.disable-library-validation" and lack of launch and library load constraints allows to substitute a legitimate dylib wiCVE-2025-4081 · Other software · Blackmagic Design · reported by cvd@cert.plMedium 4.8
Use of entitlement "com.apple.security.cs.disable-library-validation" and lack of launch and library load constraints allows to substitute a legitimate dylib with malicious one. A local attacker with unprivileged access can execute the application with altered dynamic library successfully bypassing Transparency, Consent, and Control (TCC). Acquired resource access is limited to previously granted permissions by the user. Access to other resources beyond granted-permissions requires user interaction with a system prompt asking for permission. This issue affects DaVinci Resolve on macOS in all versions. Last tested version: 19.1.3

DaVinci Resolve on MacOS was found to be installed with incorrect file permissions (rwxrwxrwx). This is inconsistent with standard macOS security practices, where applications should have drwxr-xr-x permissions. Incorrect permissions allow for Dylib Hijacking. Guest account, other users and applications can exploit this vulnerability for privilege escalation. This issue affects DaVinci Resolve on MacOS in versions before 19.1.3.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: davinci: vpif: fix use-after-free on driver unbind The driver allocates and registers two platform device structures during probe, but the devices were never deregistered on driver unbind. This results in a use-after-free on driver unbind as the device structures were allocated using devres and would be freed by driver core when remove() returns. Fix this by adding the missing deregistration calls to the remove() callback and failing probe on registration errors. Note that the platform device structures must be freed using a proper release callback to avoid leaking associated resources like device names.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mmc: davinci: Don't strip remove function when driver is builtin Using __exit for the remove function results in the remove callback being discarded with CONFIG_MMC_DAVINCI=y. When such a device gets unbound (e.g. using sysfs or hotplug), the driver is just removed without the cleanup being performed. This results in resource leaks. Fix it by compiling in the remove callback unconditionally. This also fixes a W=1 modpost warning: WARNING: modpost: drivers/mmc/host/davinci_mmc: section mismatch in reference: davinci_mmcsd_driver+0x10 (section: .data) -> davinci_mmcsd_remove (section: .exit.text)

Dec 22, 2021When parsing a file that is submitted to the DPDecoder service as a job, the R3D SDK will mistakenly skip over the assignment of a property containing an objectCVE-2021-40418 · Other software · Blackmagicdesign · reported by talos-cna@cisco.comCritical 9.8
When parsing a file that is submitted to the DPDecoder service as a job, the R3D SDK will mistakenly skip over the assignment of a property containing an object referring to a UUID that was parsed from a frame within the video container. Upon destruction of the object that owns it, the uninitialized member will be dereferenced and then destroyed using the object’s virtual destructor. Due to the object property being uninitialized, this can result in dereferencing an arbitrary pointer for the object’s virtual method table, which can result in code execution under the context of the application.

When parsing a file that is submitted to the DPDecoder service as a job, the service will use the combination of decoding parameters that were submitted with the job along with fields that were parsed for the submitted video by the R3D SDK to calculate the size of a heap buffer. Due to an integer overflow with regards to this calculation, this can result in an undersized heap buffer being allocated. When this heap buffer is written to, a heap-based buffer overflow will occur. This can result in code execution under the context of the application.
