Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sctp: check RCV_SHUTDOWN after the sendmsg connect wait sctp_wait_for_connect() drops the CVE-2026-98846 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sctp: check RCV_SHUTDOWN after the sendmsg connect wait sctp_wait_for_connect() drops the socket lock while it sleeps. An out-of-the-blue ABORT can then be processed from the socket backlog and unlink the association. If a concurrent shutdown(fd, SHUT_RD) sets RCV_SHUTDOWN, the waiter breaks with err == 0 before checking asoc->base.dead. Its final sctp_association_put() can then free the association, leaving sctp_sendmsg_to_asoc() to continue with a dangling pointer. Check RCV_SHUTDOWN along with the wait error in sctp_sendmsg_to_asoc() before using the association again. The check only accesses the socket, so it needs no additional association reference. Return the existing -ESRCH so that sctp_sendmsg() skips freeing a new association that may already have been destroyed. Keep sctp_wait_for_connect() unchanged to preserve its behavior for the connect() caller.

Aug 22, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tls: don't leave a full plaintext sk_msg ring unpushed When the copy path in tls_sw_sendmsCVE-2026-74610 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tls: don't leave a full plaintext sk_msg ring unpushed When the copy path in tls_sw_sendmsg_locked() adds the fragment that fills the plaintext sk_msg ring, it does not set full_record, so the record is left full and unpushed. A later splice() then adds to an already full ring: sk_msg_page_add() has no fullness check of its own, so sg.end wraps onto sg.start and the ring appears empty. Fragments added after that overwrite live entries, and sg.size no longer matches what is reachable between sg.start and sg.end, so pushing the record runs the scatterwalk off the end of the scatterlist. An unprivileged user can trigger this on a loopback TCP socket with the "tls" ULP attached: BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000008 RIP: 0010:memcpy_from_scatterwalk+0x32/0xc0 Call Trace: skcipher_walk_next+0x1d1/0x2c0 gcm_encrypt_aesni_avx+0x1e9/0x220 bpf_exec_tx_verdict+0x3bb/0x860 tls_sw_sendmsg+0xa1a/0xca0 __sys_sendto+0x1da/0x1f0 Set full_record in the copy path when the ring becomes full, and push a record that is already full on entry to the sendmsg loop.

Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: bcm: fix lockless bound/ifindex race and silent RX_SETUP failure bcm_sendmsg() reads CVE-2026-72122 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.3
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: bcm: fix lockless bound/ifindex race and silent RX_SETUP failure bcm_sendmsg() reads bo->ifindex and checks bo->bound before taking lock_sock(), while bcm_notify(), bcm_connect() and bcm_release() all mutate both fields under that same lock. Because the lockless reads and the locked writes are unordered with respect to each other, a racing bcm_notify() (device unregister) or bcm_connect() (concurrent bind on another thread sharing the socket) can make bcm_sendmsg() observe an inconsistent combination, e.g. a stale bound=1 together with the now-cleared ifindex=0, silently turning a socket bound to a specific CAN interface into one that also matches "any" interface. Keep the lockless bo->bound check purely as a fast-path reject, and move the ifindex read (and a bo->bound re-check) into the locked section, where every writer already serializes. This removes the possibility of observing the two fields torn against each other, rather than trying to fix it with more READ_ONCE()/WRITE_ONCE() pairs on two independently updated fields. Annotate the now-purely-lockless bo->bound accesses consistently across all its w

Aug 12, 2026The userspace syscall verifiers z_vrfy_zsock_sendmsg() and z_vrfy_zsock_recvmsg() in subsys/net/lib/sockets/sockets.c snapshot the caller-supplied struct net_msCVE-2026-12234 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgHigh 7.8
The userspace syscall verifiers z_vrfy_zsock_sendmsg() and z_vrfy_zsock_recvmsg() in subsys/net/lib/sockets/sockets.c snapshot the caller-supplied struct net_msghdr into a kernel-side copy with k_usermode_from_copy(), but then re-read the still-live user struct for subsequent decisions. The kernel iovec shadow buffer is sized from one read of msg->msg_iovlen, while the population loop is bounded by a second, live read of the same field. Because msg points into ordinary user memory, a cooperating second thread in the same memory domain can inflate msg->msg_iovlen in the window between the sizing read and the loop test (a classic double-fetch / TOCTOU). The population loop then iterates past the number of net_iovec slots actually allocated, writing attacker-influenced iov_base/iov_len values beyond the end of the kernel-heap shadow buffer. The recvmsg verifier has the same defect on both its inbound and result write-back loops. The code is reachable from an unprivileged user thread whenever CONFIG_USERSPACE is enabled and the zsock_sendmsg/zsock_recvmsg syscalls are available. A successful race corrupts kernel-managed heap memory across the user-to-kernel privilege boundary, yieldi

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf, sockmap: Fix cork use-after-free in tcp_bpf_sendmsg() tcp_bpf_sendmsg() keeps msg_tx across sk_stream_wait_memory(), which drops and reacquires the socket lock. Its error path tries to decide whether msg_tx names the local temporary message by comparing it with the current value of psock->cork. This comparison is unsafe when two threads send on the same socket: Thread A Thread B msg_tx = psock->cork sk_msg_alloc() fails sk_stream_wait_memory() releases the socket lock acquires the socket lock completes the cork psock->cork = NULL frees the cork reacquires the socket lock msg_tx != psock->cork sk_msg_free(msg_tx) The stale cork is therefore mistaken for the local temporary message and freed again. Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pppoe: reload header pointer after dev_hard_header() pppoe_sendmsg() saves a pointer to thCVE-2026-68121 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pppoe: reload header pointer after dev_hard_header() pppoe_sendmsg() saves a pointer to the PPPoE header before calling dev_hard_header(). Device header callbacks are allowed to reallocate the skb head, invalidating pointers into it. This can happen when a send is blocked in copy_from_user() while the first non-Ethernet port is added to an empty team device. The team's delegated GRE header callback then expands the skb head. PPPoE subsequently writes six bytes through the stale pointer into the freed head. Reload the PPPoE header through the skb's network-header offset after device header creation. pskb_expand_head() updates that offset when it relocates the head.

Jul 19, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: mediate the implicit connect of TCP fast open sendmsg sendmsg()/sendto() with MSCVE-2026-63828 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.4
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: mediate the implicit connect of TCP fast open sendmsg sendmsg()/sendto() with MSG_FASTOPEN is a combination of connect(2) and write(2): it opens the connection in the SYN. apparmor_socket_sendmsg() only checks AA_MAY_SEND, so a profile that grants send but denies connect lets a confined task open an outbound TCP/MPTCP connection that connect(2) would have refused, bypassing connect mediation. Mediate the implicit connect when MSG_FASTOPEN is set and a destination is supplied. Add it to apparmor_socket_sendmsg() (not the shared aa_sock_msg_perm() helper, which recvmsg also uses) and call aa_sk_perm() directly, mirroring the selinux and tomoyo fixes. sk_is_tcp() does not cover MPTCP fast open, so the SOCK_STREAM/IPPROTO_MPTCP arm is explicit.

Jul 10, 2026R-SOFT DMS is vulnerable to OS Command Injection in the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) module.CVE-2026-41880 · Other software · R-SOFT SERWIS · reported by cvd@cert.plCritical 9
R-SOFT DMS is vulnerable to OS Command Injection in the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) module. Multiple command execution functions accept user-controllable file paths without proper sanitization before passing them to the system shell via SSH. In current infrastructure the URL encoding neutralizes the injection during the standard web upload flow. An authenticated attacker who is able to trigger the OCR functionality for the uploaded file can execute OS commands within the context of a root user. This issue was fixed in version v3.19-2862 and v3.17-2580.

May 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sctp: revalidate list cursor after sctp_sendmsg_to_asoc() in SCTP_SENDALL The SCTP_SENDALLCVE-2026-46227 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sctp: revalidate list cursor after sctp_sendmsg_to_asoc() in SCTP_SENDALL The SCTP_SENDALL path in sctp_sendmsg() iterates ep->asocs with list_for_each_entry_safe(), which caches the next entry in @tmp before the loop body runs. The body calls sctp_sendmsg_to_asoc(), which may drop the socket lock inside sctp_wait_for_sndbuf(). While the lock is dropped, another thread can SCTP_SOCKOPT_PEELOFF the association cached in @tmp, migrating it to a new endpoint via sctp_sock_migrate() (list_del_init() + list_add_tail() to newep->asocs), and optionally close the new socket which frees the association via kfree_rcu(). The cached @tmp can also be freed by a network ABORT for that association, processed in softirq while the lock is dropped. sctp_wait_for_sndbuf() revalidates @asoc (the current entry) on re-lock via the "sk != asoc->base.sk" and "asoc->base.dead" checks, but nothing revalidates @tmp. After a successful return, the iterator advances to the stale @tmp, yielding either a use-after-free (if the peeled socket was closed) or a list-walk onto the new endpoint's list head (type confusion of &newep->asocs as a

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: kcm: fix zero-frag skb in frag_list on partial sendmsg error Syzkaller reported a warning in kcm_write_msgs() when processing a message with a zero-fragment skb in the frag_list. When kcm_sendmsg() fills MAX_SKB_FRAGS fragments in the current skb, it allocates a new skb (tskb) and links it into the frag_list before copying data. If the copy subsequently fails (e.g. -EFAULT from user memory), tskb remains in the frag_list with zero fragments: head skb (msg being assembled, NOT yet in sk_write_queue) +-----------+ | frags[17] | (MAX_SKB_FRAGS, all filled with data) | frag_list-+--> tskb +-----------+ +----------+ | frags[0] | (empty! copy failed before filling) +----------+ For SOCK_SEQPACKET with partial data already copied, the error path saves this message via partial_message for later completion. For SOCK_SEQPACKET, sock_write_iter() automatically sets MSG_EOR, so a subsequent zero-length write(fd, NULL, 0) completes the message and queues it to sk_write_queue. kcm_write_msgs() then walks the frag_list and hits: WARN_ON(!skb_shinfo(skb)->nr_frags) TCP

If a signal interrupts the wait_event_interruptible() inside close() while tx.state is ISOTP_SENDING, the loop exits early and release proceeds to force ISOTP_SHUTDOWN and continues to kfree(so->tx.buf) while sendmsg may still be reading so->tx.buf for the final CAN frame in isotp_fill_dataframe(). The so->tx.buf can be allocated once when the standard tx.buf length needs to be extended. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/ieee802154: don't warn zero-sized raw_sendmsg() syzbot is hitting skb_assert_len() warning at __dev_queue_xmit() [1], for PF_IEEE802154 socket's zero-sized raw_sendmsg() request is hitting __dev_queue_xmit() with skb->len == 0. Since PF_IEEE802154 socket's zero-sized raw_sendmsg() request was able to return 0, don't call __dev_queue_xmit() if packet length is 0. ---------- #include <sys/socket.h> #include <netinet/in.h> int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { struct sockaddr_in addr = { .sin_family = AF_INET, .sin_addr.s_addr = htonl(INADDR_LOOPBACK) }; struct iovec iov = { }; struct msghdr hdr = { .msg_name = &addr, .msg_namelen = sizeof(addr), .msg_iov = &iov, .msg_iovlen = 1 }; sendmsg(socket(PF_IEEE802154, SOCK_RAW, 0), &hdr, 0); return 0; } ---------- Note that this might be a sign that commit fd1894224407c484 ("bpf: Don't redirect packets with invalid pkt_len") should be reverted, for skb->len == 0 was acceptable for at least PF_IEEE802154 socket.

Dec 9, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: kcm: Fix error handling for SOCK_DGRAM in kcm_sendmsg().CVE-2023-53825 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: kcm: Fix error handling for SOCK_DGRAM in kcm_sendmsg(). syzkaller found a memory leak in kcm_sendmsg(), and commit c821a88bd720 ("kcm: Fix memory leak in error path of kcm_sendmsg()") suppressed it by updating kcm_tx_msg(head)->last_skb if partial data is copied so that the following sendmsg() will resume from the skb. However, we cannot know how many bytes were copied when we get the error. Thus, we could mess up the MSG_MORE queue. When kcm_sendmsg() fails for SOCK_DGRAM, we should purge the queue as we do so for UDP by udp_flush_pending_frames(). Even without this change, when the error occurred, the following sendmsg() resumed from a wrong skb and the queue was messed up. However, we have yet to get such a report, and only syzkaller stumbled on it. So, this can be changed safely. Note this does not change SOCK_SEQPACKET behaviour.

CKAN is an open-source DMS (data management system) for powering data hubs and data portals. Prior to 2.10.9 and 2.11.4, session ids could be fixed by an attacker if the site is configured with server-side session storage (CKAN uses cookie-based session storage by default). The attacker would need to either set a cookie on the victim's browser or steal the victim's currently valid session. Session identifiers are now regenerated after each login. This vulnerability has been fixed in CKAN 2.10.9 and 2.11.4

Sep 15, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rxrpc: Make it so that a waiting process can be aborted When sendmsg() creates an rxrpc caCVE-2023-53218 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rxrpc: Make it so that a waiting process can be aborted When sendmsg() creates an rxrpc call, it queues it to wait for a connection and channel to be assigned and then waits before it can start shovelling data as the encrypted DATA packet content includes a summary of the connection parameters. However, sendmsg() may get interrupted before a connection gets assigned and further sendmsg() calls will fail with EBUSY until an assignment is made. Fix this so that the call can at least be aborted without failing on EBUSY. We have to be careful here as sendmsg() mustn't be allowed to start the call timer if the call doesn't yet have a connection assigned as an oops may follow shortly thereafter.
