The Sensei LMS WordPress plugin before 4.26.4 contains a broken access control vulnerability in the add_new_module_term AJAX handler that allows authenticated Teacher-role attackers to assign module taxonomy terms to arbitrary courses by supplying a crafted course_id, since the handler validates only a generic nonce and checks manage_options solely for slug prefixing rather than verifying course edit permissions. • Oct 10, 2026SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle: Directory TraversalCVE-2026-97348 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 6.5

The SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 1.74.3 via the get_instance_css function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to read the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information. The widget's normal update()/sanitize_field_input() pipeline — which would reject non-hex color values — is bypassed entirely because the [siteorigin_widget] shortcode handler calls $the_widget->widget() directly on the attacker-supplied decoded JSON instance.

  • Oct 2, 2026SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle: Local File InclusionCVE-2026-92174 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 7.5

The SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Local File Inclusion in all versions up to, and including, 1.73.2 via the 'theme' parameter parameter. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to include and execute arbitrary .php files on the server, allowing the execution of any PHP code in those files. This can be used to bypass access controls, obtain sensitive data, or achieve code execution in cases where .php file types can be uploaded and included. Exploitation requires sending a malicious widgetData payload containing a legacy top-level theme key alongside a non-empty columns array to the /wp-json/sowb/v1/widgets/previews REST endpoint, which bypasses field validation because update_fields() only processes declared form fields.

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories.
