  • Jun 8, 2026## Summary The iOS implementation of `cordova-plugin-inappbrowser` passes the `id` field from a `WKScriptMessage` body to `commandDelegate sendPluginResult:calCVE-2026-47430 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgCritical 9.5

    ## Summary The iOS implementation of `cordova-plugin-inappbrowser` passes the `id` field from a `WKScriptMessage` body to `commandDelegate sendPluginResult:callbackId:` with no format validation (`CDVWKInAppBrowser.m:560–574`). Any web content loaded inside the InAppBrowser can fire any pending Cordova callback in the host app by posting a message whose `id` field is a guessable or enumerated callback identifier. An attack abusing this weakness must be tailored to the specific plugins and callback IDs the host app uses. Though an attacker with knowledge of common Cordova plugin configurations could craft reusable payloads targeting widely-adopted plugins. ## Impact An unauthenticated remote attacker who controls content displayed in the InAppBrowser — via a URL the app opens (OAuth redirect, marketing link, deep-link target) or a network interception — can call `window.webkit.messageHandlers.cordova_iab.postMessage({id: '<victim-callback-id>', d: '...'})` to fire callbacks belonging to any other installed Cordova plugin (Camera, Contacts, File, Geolocation). Cordova callback IDs follow the predictable format `<PluginName><sequential-integer>`, making enumeration feasible. Succe

  • Dec 15, 2025The Cordova plugin cordova-plugin-x-socialsharing (SocialSharing-PhoneGap-Plugin) for Android 6.0.4, registers an exported broadcast receiver nl.xservices.plugiCVE-2025-65835 · Other software · Eddyverbruggen · reported by MITREMedium 6.2

The Cordova plugin cordova-plugin-x-socialsharing (SocialSharing-PhoneGap-Plugin) for Android 6.0.4, registers an exported broadcast receiver nl.xservices.plugins.ShareChooserPendingIntent with an android.intent.action.SEND intent filter. The onReceive implementation accesses Intent.EXTRA_CHOSEN_COMPONENT without checking for null. If a broadcast is sent with extras present but without EXTRA_CHOSEN_COMPONENT, the code dereferences a null value and throws a NullPointerException. Because the receiver is exported and performs no permission or caller validation, any local application on the device can send crafted ACTION_SEND broadcasts to this component and repeatedly crash the host application, resulting in a local, unauthenticated application-level denial of service for any app that includes the plugin.

  • Dec 23, 2021cordova-plugin-fingerprint-aio is a plugin provides a single and simple interface for accessing fingerprint APIs on both Android 6+ and iOS.CVE-2021-43849 · Other software · NiklasMerz · reported by GitHubMedium 6.2

cordova-plugin-fingerprint-aio is a plugin provides a single and simple interface for accessing fingerprint APIs on both Android 6+ and iOS. In versions prior to 5.0.1 The exported activity `de.niklasmerz.cordova.biometric.BiometricActivity` can cause the app to crash. This vulnerability occurred because the activity didn't handle the case where it is requested with invalid or empty data which results in a crash. Any third party app can constantly call this activity with no permission. A 3rd party app/attacker using event listener can continually stop the app from working and make the victim unable to open it. Version 5.0.1 of the cordova-plugin-fingerprint-aio doesn't export the activity anymore and is no longer vulnerable. If you want to fix older versions change the attribute android:exported in plugin.xml to false. Please upgrade to version 5.0.1 as soon as possible.

  • Feb 1, 2018After the Android platform is added to Cordova the first time, or after a project is created using the build scripts, the scripts will fetch Gradle on the firstCVE-2017-3160 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 7.4

After the Android platform is added to Cordova the first time, or after a project is created using the build scripts, the scripts will fetch Gradle on the first build. However, since the default URI is not using https, it is vulnerable to a MiTM and the Gradle executable is not safe. The severity of this issue is high due to the fact that the build scripts immediately start a build after Gradle has been fetched. Developers who are concerned about this issue should install version 6.1.2 or higher of Cordova-Android. If developers are unable to install the latest version, this vulnerability can easily be mitigated by setting the CORDOVA_ANDROID_GRADLE_DISTRIBUTION_URL environment variable to https://services.gradle.org/distributions/gradle-2.14.1-all.zip

Product: Apache Cordova Android 5.2.2 and earlier. The application calls methods of the Log class. Messages passed to these methods (Log.v(), Log.d(), Log.i(), Log.w(), and Log.e()) are stored in a series of circular buffers on the device. By default, a maximum of four 16 KB rotated logs are kept in addition to the current log. The logged data can be read using Logcat on the device. When using platforms prior to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), the log data is not sandboxed per application; any application installed on the device has the capability to read data logged by other applications.
