Oct 27, 2026In childTextNodesAreLiteral, walking up the tree previously stopped at the nearest foreign ancestor once an HTML integration point was found.CVE-2026-97045 · Other software · golang.org/x/net · reported by security@golang.org
In childTextNodesAreLiteral, walking up the tree previously stopped at the nearest foreign ancestor once an HTML integration point was found. However, that integration point may itself be a descendant of an element that was foster-parented into a foreign namespace (such as <mglyph> or <malignmark> fostered under <mtext>), causing a parser to resolve the subtree in a different foreign namespace upon re-parsing the rendered output. Continue walking the full ancestor chain and verify that every transition from a non-empty namespace occurs at an HTML integration point before emitting literal text.

OpenBao from 2.3.0 before 2.6.3 contains an improper authorization vulnerability that allows privileged child-namespace tokens to modify plugin registrations because /v1/sys/plugins/catalog/* is not restricted to the root namespace. Attackers can remove existing registrations, create invalid ones, or register installed plugins through a child namespace's sys/ mount, causing denial of service.

Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: fix ACP MFD device leak on init failure acp_hw_init() registers ACP child deviCVE-2026-98779 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: fix ACP MFD device leak on init failure acp_hw_init() registers ACP child devices with mfd_add_devices() before attaching them to the ACP power domain and initializing the hardware. If attaching a child to the power domain fails, or if the ACP reset or clock enable operation times out, the failure path frees only the source cell, resource, and platform-data allocations. The child platform devices already registered by mfd_add_devices() remain registered and are never released. Remove the children from the power domain and unregister the MFD devices on failures that occur after mfd_add_devices() succeeds. Keep mfd_add_devices() failures on the existing cleanup path since the MFD core already rolls back partially registered children itself. The issue was identified by a static analysis tool I developed and confirmed by manual review. (cherry picked from commit 63da68d6a2279ec945581c990c5a59a5ae8b5560)

Oct 15, 2026kqueue_fork_copy_knote() indexed into the child's file descriptor table using a knote's file descriptor number without a bounds check.CVE-2026-58100 · Other software · FreeBSD · reported by secteam@freebsd.orgHigh 7
kqueue_fork_copy_knote() indexed into the child's file descriptor table using a knote's file descriptor number without a bounds check. Because the child's table is copied before knotes are transferred, a concurrent thread in the parent could grow the parent's table and register knotes with file descriptor numbers beyond the end of the child's table, causing an out-of-bounds read. An unprivileged local user may be able to exploit these races to escalate privileges.

When copying knotes from a parent kqueue to a child, the copy code did not correctly exclude marker knotes (used internally to track list traversal position) before marking them as in-flux and releasing the kqueue lock. If another thread freed a marker while the lock was dropped, the subsequent in-flux decrement operated on freed memory. An unprivileged local user may be able to exploit these races to escalate privileges.

Oct 12, 2026The affected code used child_process.execSync with a shell string for generator installation and uninstallation.CVE-2026-89116 · Network & remote access · SAP_SE · reported by cna@sap.comMedium 5.9
The affected code used child_process.execSync with a shell string for generator installation and uninstallation. This allowed an attacker to execute arbitrary OS commands with the developer's privileges by manipulating the ApplicationWizard.installationLocation VS Code workspace configuration value. Because the value was passed directly to the shell without sanitisation, a malicious workspace repository could craft a settings.json that injects OS commands when a developer opens the project and triggers a generator installation.

Sep 28, 2026Apache Karaf's instance-management service (InstanceServiceImpl) builds the command line used to launch a child Karaf JVM by string concatenation, then executesCVE-2026-91006 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 8.8
Apache Karaf's instance-management service (InstanceServiceImpl) builds the command line used to launch a child Karaf JVM by string concatenation, then executes it through /bin/sh (Unix) or cscript (Windows). The caller-supplied javaOpts value is spliced into that string unquoted. A javaOpts value containing shell metacharacters (;, |, `, $(...)) is interpreted by the shell instead of being passed to the JVM as an option, giving arbitrary OS command execution as the Karaf process user. Reachable via the shell commands instance:create, instance:start, instance:restart, instance:change-opts, and the equivalent InstanceMBean JMX operations (createInstance, startInstance, changeJavaOpts, cloneInstance). Mitigation * Set karaf.secured.command.compulsory.roles=admin in etc/system.properties to close the fail-open gap for all unconfigured command scopes. * Restrict which principals can reach instance:* commands and InstancesMBean via etc/users.properties role assignments. * Treat javaOpts passed to instance:create/instance:start/instance:change-opts/InstancesMBean as untrusted input only from fully-trusted operators.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: firmware: arm_scmi: Fix SCMI device destroy lifetimes scmi_child_dev_find() drops the reference returned by device_find_child() before returning the scmi_device pointer. A concurrent unregister can then release the device while the destroy path is still using the returned pointer. Make the lookup helper return the device_find_child() reference and keep it until scmi_device_destroy() has finished unregistering the child. Also split device_unregister() in __scmi_device_destroy() so the SCMI bus ID is not made reusable until after device_del() has removed the old scmi_dev.N name from sysfs. This avoids a new SCMI device reusing the same ID while the old device is still registered. The final device release callback is also a possible cleanup path when SCMI children are deleted by driver core recursion rather than __scmi_device_destroy(). Release the SCMI bus ID from a common helper used by destroy, register-failure and final-release paths, and clear scmi_dev->id after freeing it so the final release cannot free the same ID again.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: smbdirect: release pending child sockets outside the handler lock smbdirect_socket_destroy() releases the listener's pending/ready child sockets while still holding the listener's handler lock, the &id_priv->handler_mutex taken via rdma_lock_handler(), not sc->listen.lock, and before the listener's own rdma_destroy_id(). That ordering has one real consequence and one cosmetic one. The real one: smbdirect_socket_release() drops the child's last reference, which destroys the child's cm_id. Doing that before the listener's rdma_destroy_id() lets _cma_cancel_listens(), running from the listener's _destroy_id(), walk an already freed child id_priv, which KASAN catches as a slab-use-after-free during listener shutdown: [ 4758.909130] BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in __mutex_lock+0x1469/0x1560 [ 4758.911450] Read of size 1 at addr ffff88821c381db4 by task ksmbd.control/1652 [ 4758.913262] Call Trace: [ 4758.913267] <TASK> [ 4758.913299] __mutex_lock+0x1469/0x1560 [ 4758.913408] _cma_cancel_listens+0x312/0x3b0 [ 4758.913413] _destroy_id+0x363/0xee0 [ 4758.913417] smbdirect_socket_destroy_sync+0x17d5/0x2440

Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: eventfs: Initialize ei->children and ei->list in init_ei() eventfs_create_dir() allocates CVE-2026-89618 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: eventfs: Initialize ei->children and ei->list in init_ei() eventfs_create_dir() allocates the eventfs_inode and initializes it with init_ei(). But this does not initialize the eventfs_inode list_heads. If the eventfs_create_dir() fails due to memory pressure, it will call free_ei() before it initialized the lists, and that checks to make sure the eventfs_inode has no children. But because the list wasn't initialized, it will give a false warning. Fix it by moving the list initialization into init_ei(). [ Rewrote change log ]

Sep 10, 2026Capgo (capgo.app) backend through 12.242.4 does not validate parent-child delegation when processing the x-limited-key-id header.CVE-2026-88862 · Other software · Cap-go · reported by VulnCheckHigh 8.7
Capgo (capgo.app) backend through 12.242.4 does not validate parent-child delegation when processing the x-limited-key-id header. checkKeyByIdPg() in supabase/functions/_backend/utils/hono_middleware.ts resolves the attacker-supplied numeric API key ID using only the key ID, its expiration state, and the authenticating key's user_id, while hasLimitedRbacSubkeyScope() accepts any key with a non-organization (e.g., app-scoped) RBAC binding and validateSubkeyUser() only compares owning user IDs. Because Capgo treats API keys as independent RBAC principals with separate role bindings, an authenticated apikey_manager API key with no application access can supply the numeric ID of a more privileged same-owner key and have the middleware replace the authenticated principal and effective API-key secret with that key (setSubkeyAuthContext), exercising an app_admin sibling's permissions without knowing or submitting its secret. The issue was reproduced on release 12.242.4 (commit b3d02cdbc23ac59990785acacd1f113c07458568) after the fix for GHSA-8h52-44r7-w343; at the time of the advisory no patched version was available.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: IB/mlx5: Properly support implicit ODP rereg_mr Due to all the child mkeys in the implicit ODP configuration we cannot change anything in place for the parent mkey. Instead the whole thing needs to be rebuilt if any change is requested. If the user does not specify a translation then force the implicit values which will then fall through the logic into mlx5_ib_reg_user_mr() to allocate a completely new MR. Since implicit children were also touching the mr->pd, this removes another case where the access was racy.

Aug 22, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: eventfs: Use children field for rcu head and add memory barriers When an eventfs inode is CVE-2026-74605 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: eventfs: Use children field for rcu head and add memory barriers When an eventfs inode is freed, it sets ei->is_freed and then uses its ei->list to add it to the srcu link list as the list field is a union with the rcu list head. As the ei->list is used to iterate over an SRCU protected list without taking the eventfs_mutex, there's nothing stopping the iteration over that list to see the ei->rcu instead of the ei->list and it will read a corrupt target. To fix this, change the union of the rcu list head with the children list. On freeing the eventfs inode, set the is_free and execute a smp_wmb() before adding the eventfs inode to the SRCU list. On iteration of the ei->children list, at the start, execute a smp_rmb() and then read the is_freed of the ei to see if the children list is still valid. If is_freed is set, then the ei_child read is not valid and the loop should exit immediately.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tcp: clear sock_ops cb flags before force-closing a child socket A child socket inherits the listener's bpf_sock_ops_cb_flags via sk_clone_lock(). If its setup fails in tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock() / tcp_v6_syn_recv_sock(), the child is freed through put_and_exit, where inet_csk_prepare_forced_close() drops the socket lock and tcp_done() runs without it. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cgroup/cpuset: rebind mm mempolicy to effective_mems, not mems_allowed Creating a child cpuset where cpuset.mems is never set leads to a div/0 when a VMA mempolicy with MPOL_F_RELATIVE_NODES rebinds in response to a CPU hotplug event. Reproduction steps: 1) Create a cgroup w/ cpuset controls (do not set cpuset.mems) 2) Move the task into the child cpuset 3) Create a VMA mempolicy for that task with MPOL_F_RELATIVE_NODES 4) unplug and hotplug a cpu echo 0 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online 5) mempolicy rebind does a div/0 in mpol_relative_nodemask on the call to __nodes_fold() The cpuset code passes (cs->mems_allowed) which is not guaranteed to have nodes to the rebind routine. Use cs->effective_mems instead, which is guaranteed to have a non-empty nodemask once we reach that code path. [ david: add a comment, slightly rephrase description ]
