Oct 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: namespace: a mount that copy_tree() leaves out can't take over a lock Since commit c62a476CVE-2026-99170 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: namespace: a mount that copy_tree() leaves out can't take over a lock Since commit c62a4766937e ("move_mount: transfer MNT_LOCKED") a mount can be moved beneath a locked mount. The lock moves from the old cover to the new mount which takes over the job of hiding what's under it and the old cover can be unmounted. That works as long as the new mount stays. But the caller picks the new mount and copy_tree() leaves a mount of a mount namespace file out of every copy made without CL_COPY_MNT_NS_FILE, together with everything mounted on it, and never looks at MNT_LOCKED. unshare(CLONE_NEWNS) and mount propagation make such copies. So a task that is root in its own user namespace gets rid of a locked cover on a file without a race and without touching the filesystem below it. It makes a child with a mount namespace of its own, binds the child's /proc/<pid>/ns/mnt beneath the cover with MOVE_MOUNT_BENEATH, which hands the lock to that bind, and calls unshare(CLONE_NEWNS). The new mount namespace has nothing on the file. That's the usual way to mask a single file, a bind of /dev/null or of an empty file. With a bind of

Oct 21, 2026The Infineon PSOC 6 BLESS HCI driver in drivers/bluetooth/hci/hci_infineon_psoc6_bless.c stored the outgoing HCI packet descriptor in a file-scope variable, staCVE-2026-78117 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgMedium 4.2
The Infineon PSOC 6 BLESS HCI driver in drivers/bluetooth/hci/hci_infineon_psoc6_bless.c stored the outgoing HCI packet descriptor in a file-scope variable, static cy_stc_ble_hci_tx_packet_info_t hci_tx_pkt. psoc6_bless_send() cleared and populated that descriptor's packetType, dataLength and data fields before acquiring psoc6_bless_operation_sem, so the driver's serialising semaphore protected only the call into Cy_BLE_SoftHciSendAppPkt() and not the shared state that call reads. The Bluetooth host does not guarantee a single HCI sender. Most transmissions are funnelled through the cooperative TX-processor work queue, but bt_hci_cmd_send() deliberately bypasses bt_dev.cmd_tx_queue for BT_HCI_OP_HOST_NUM_COMPLETED_PACKETS and calls bt_send() directly from the caller's thread; that caller is bt_hci_host_num_completed_packets(), the acl_in_pool destroy callback, which runs on whichever thread drops the last reference to a received ACL buffer. CONFIG_BT_HCI_ACL_FLOW_CONTROL defaults to y on this driver's boards, and an application that returns -EINPROGRESS from its L2CAP recv callback and later calls bt_l2cap_chan_recv_complete() performs that unref from its own preemptible thread. Oct 16, 2026libIEC61850 is an open-source implementation of IEC 61850 client and server protocols including MMS, GOOSE, Sampled Values, and R-Session.CVE-2026-68908 · Other software · mz-automation · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3
libIEC61850 is an open-source implementation of IEC 61850 client and server protocols including MMS, GOOSE, Sampled Values, and R-Session. Prior to 1.6.2, Reporting_RCBWriteAccessHandler accepts an RptID longer than 129 bytes in the report-control-block write path. When GI later causes sendNextReportEntrySegment to serialize the report, the function wraps rptIdBuf[130] as a temporary MmsValue and passes it to MmsValue_setVisibleString. The setter's resize path frees the stack-backed buffer, allowing a remote client to trigger an invalid free and server crash by writing the oversized RptID and then generating a report. This issue is fixed in version 1.6.2.

Oct 16, 2026libIEC61850 is an open-source implementation of IEC 61850 client and server protocols including MMS, GOOSE, Sampled Values, and R-Session.CVE-2026-68907 · Other software · mz-automation · reported by GitHubHigh 8.2
libIEC61850 is an open-source implementation of IEC 61850 client and server protocols including MMS, GOOSE, Sampled Values, and R-Session. Prior to 1.6.2, checkDataSetAccess reverses the source and destination arguments to StringUtils_copyStringToBuffer while constructing an MMS_ASSOCIATION_SPECIFIC dataset reference. The helper treats uninitialized dataSetRef[130] storage as a source string, causing strlen to read beyond the stack buffer, and then copies those bytes into the caller-owned listName buffer. A remote defineNamedVariableList request can crash servers that have dynamic dataset service enabled and a dataset access handler installed; the advisory also observes caller stack corruption but establishes denial of service as the primary impact. This issue is fixed in version 1.6.2.

libIEC61850 is an open-source implementation of IEC 61850 client and server protocols including MMS, GOOSE, Sampled Values, and R-Session. Prior to 1.6.2, parseUserInformation in src/mms/iso_acse/acse.c checks len for zero before validating the negative bufPos returned by BerDecoder_decodeLength for a truncated long-form length. The continue path therefore swallows the error, reads buffer[-1], resets parsing to the beginning, and repeats the same malformed state. An unauthenticated remote peer can send a malformed AARE PDU during association to cause an infinite CPU loop under a normal allocator or a one-byte out-of-bounds read and process abort when the preceding byte is inaccessible. This issue is fixed in version 1.6.2.

Oct 16, 2026libIEC61850 is an open-source implementation of IEC 61850 client and server protocols including MMS, GOOSE, Sampled Values, and R-Session.CVE-2026-57446 · Other software · mz-automation · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3
libIEC61850 is an open-source implementation of IEC 61850 client and server protocols including MMS, GOOSE, Sampled Values, and R-Session. From 1.6.1 until 1.6.2, a successful MMS ObtainFile operation closes MmsObtainFileTask::fileHandle but leaves the stale non-NULL value in a task marked MMS_FILE_UPLOAD_STATE_NOT_USED. If a later ObtainFile request reuses that task and destination creation fails, MMS_FILE_UPLOAD_STATE_SEND_OBTAIN_FILE_ERROR_DESTINATION cleanup closes the stale FILE object again. Servers with the MMS file service and ObtainFile enabled can therefore be crashed remotely by the success-then-failure request sequence. This issue is fixed in version 1.6.2.

libIEC61850 is an open-source implementation of IEC 61850 client and server protocols including MMS, GOOSE, Sampled Values, and R-Session. Prior to 1.6.2, alternateArrayAccess in src/mms/iso_mms/server/mms_read_service.c does not validate an alternate-access sub-array range when numberOfElements is greater than zero. An out-of-range MmsValue_getElement call returns NULL, and the sub-array branch passes that value to MmsValue_isDeletable, causing a NULL pointer dereference. A remote MMS Read request can therefore crash servers whose data models contain arrays, while the single-element error path handles the same invalid index safely. The fileRead path then subtracts the larger read position from the file size using unsigned arithmetic and fails to limit the response to the actual FileSystem_readFile return value. The oversized response can include stale bytes from the reused connection buffer after the requested file contents, disclosing prior response data and protocol fragments to an unauthenticated remote client when the file service is enabled. This issue is fixed in version 1.6.2.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/uverbs: Fix mmap_lock/disassociation_lock circular dependency Commit 51976c6cd786 ("RDMA/core: Provide rdma_user_mmap_disassociate() to disassociate mmap pages") introduced disassociation_lock to protect new mmap registrations against uverbs_user_mmap_disassociate(), but created an ABBA deadlock: Thread A (mmap / fork): mmap_lock -> disassociation_lock Thread B (disassociate): disassociation_lock -> mmap_lock Fix by removing disassociation_lock entirely and using the pre-existing hw_destroy_rwsem instead. hw_destroy_rwsem already provides the same protection: rdma_umap_open() and ib_uverbs_mmap() both use down_read_trylock() before registering a new VMA, so holding hw_destroy_rwsem in uverbs_user_mmap_disassociate() is sufficient to block new registrations. trylock is used in both mmap paths (not blocking down_read) because mmap_lock is already held on entry, and uverbs_user_mmap_disassociate() acquires mmap_lock internally — a blocking read would recreate the same deadlock. The only caller that was not taking hw_destroy_rwsem for write was rdma_user_mmap_disassociate(). Fix it to take the rw

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ethernet: oa_tc6: Improve the error recovery When oversubscribed traffic causes lot of buffer overflow errors, probably due to loss of data chunks, driver fails to find a data chunk with end_valid bit set, before it runs out of sk buffer space. As a result, assert is seen during skb_put. Now, check is made if skb buffer has enough tailroom for the incoming data before accepting. If there is no room, current frame is abandoned and it will start looking for a data chunk with start_valid bit, that is a new frame. SK buffer allocation error is considered as recoverable error. rx_buf_overflow flag is too specific and no longer the only condition this flag is used for. Therefore it is renamed as wait_until_start_valid. This is more appropriate as this flag is used to look for the next data chunk with SV bit set, after failures like buffer overflow, buffer allocation failure, skb pointer validity besides buffer overflow error. Not writing to status0 if it reads 0.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs: don't return -EINVAL for successful nested thaw Commit 7366f8b6fc6a ("fs: handle freezing from multiple devices") replaced the freeze_holders bitmask with per-holder counters to allow nested freezes. In the bitmask version, a thaw that released a shared hold while another holder remained returned 0. Since the rework, thaw_super_locked() drops the freeze reference via freeze_dec() but then returns -EINVAL when other freezers remain, misinforming the caller: the thaw did succeed, the superblock just stays frozen for the remaining holders. This breaks bdev-initiated freezing. When a filesystem is frozen with FIFREEZE and additionally frozen via bdev_freeze() -- which nests by design, see fs_bdev_freeze() -- the subsequent bdev_thaw() receives -EINVAL from the holder op although its freeze reference was dropped, and therefore keeps bd_fsfreeze_count elevated. Then device-mapper's unlock_fs() ignores bdev_thaw()'s return value, so nothing rebalances the count. After the user's FITHAW and umount, the block device can never be mounted again: dm-1: Can't mount, blockdev is frozen There is no way for userspace

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm: Fix drm_crtc_commit leak if signaled when PAGE_FLIP_EVENT is used Commit 1c6ceeee6ebb ("drm/atomic: Fix memleak on ERESTARTSYS during non-blocking commits") fixed a very similar issue when the event was allocated by drm_atomic_helper_setup_commit() itself. However, if the event is allocated in prepare_signaling(), it will also be set to NULL in complete_signaling(), which prevents drm_crtc_commit from being put in __drm_atomic_helper_crtc_destroy_state(). Dropping the reference when the event is set to NULL at complete_signaling() fixes the leak. The leak can be reproduced by sending a signal to the thread using DRM_MODE_PAGE_FLIP_EVENT and using a sw_sync fence to cause the atomic ioctl to block at drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_fences(). It happened both with amdgpu and vkms.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: timers/itimer: Zero-init old itimerval before copy to userspace On native sparc64, struct __kernel_old_timeval contains a four-byte hole after tv_usec because tv_sec is 64-bit while __kernel_suseconds_t is 32-bit. put_itimerval() fills only the named fields in a stack-allocated __kernel_old_itimerval and copies the entire object to userspace, so getitimer() can expose the two padding holes. Zero-initialize the aggregate before assigning the fields so implicit padding is deterministic before it crosses the user/kernel boundary.
