Oct 28, 2026When a broker decodes a compressed record batch, the per-record decoder reads a declared body size from the decompressed stream and allocates a buffer of that sCVE-2026-114349 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.org
When a broker decodes a compressed record batch, the per-record decoder reads a declared body size from the decompressed stream and allocates a buffer of that size before validating it against the bytes available or any configured limit. The size is attacker-controlled, and the batch CRC does not constrain it, so a small (around 90-byte), CRC-valid compressed produce request can declare a body size of up to about 2 GiB and force the broker to attempt that allocation, raising OutOfMemoryError. The record size limit (max.message.bytes), the request size limit, and client/broker quotas bound only the compressed wire size, not the declared decompressed size. Impact: An authenticated principal with Write on a topic can crash broker request-handler threads (reached when a batch's codec differs from the topic's compression.type and records are re-encoded) and any consumer that fetches the record, denying service. On brokers started with -XX:+ExitOnOutOfMemoryError, a common hardening, a single crafted request terminates the broker JVM. More seriously, a crafted record is accepted at ingest and written to disk; when the log-cleaner later reads it on a compacted topic, the OutOfMemoryEr

Oct 28, 2026An authenticated Kafka principal with no authorization grants (not even ALTER_CONFIGS) can make a broker read a file or an environment variable from the broker CVE-2026-112375 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.org
An authenticated Kafka principal with no authorization grants (not even ALTER_CONFIGS) can make a broker read a file or an environment variable from the broker host and return its contents. An IncrementalAlterConfigs (or AlterConfigs) request targeting a BROKER resource reaches the broker's configuration validation before any authorization check is applied to that path. Validation resolves configuration variables such as ${file:/path:key} or ${env:VAR} using a ConfigProvider named in the request, and this resolution bypasses the org.apache.kafka.automatic.config.providers allowlist that was added as the mitigation for CVE-2024-31141. An arbitrary ConfigProvider (for example FileConfigProvider or EnvVarConfigProvider) is therefore instantiated and the referenced file or environment variable is read, and a type-validation error returns the resolved content to the caller. Impact: On a cluster with an authorizer enabled, an authenticated principal with no authorization grants can read the contents of files accessible to the broker process, and the broker's environment variables, exposing credentials, keystores, or other secrets, defeating the CVE-2024-31141 allowlist. The read is bo

Oct 28, 2026The broker-side PushTelemetry API (KIP-714) validates only the compressed size of a client's metrics payload against telemetry.max.bytes (default 1 MB) before dCVE-2026-111073 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.org
The broker-side PushTelemetry API (KIP-714) validates only the compressed size of a client's metrics payload against telemetry.max.bytes (default 1 MB) before decompressing it. ClientTelemetryUtils.decompress() then decompresses the payload with no limit on the decompressed output size, growing a heap buffer until the compressed input is exhausted. A small, highly compressible payload (for example gzip-compressed zeros) can therefore expand to hundreds of megabytes of broker heap. Impact: An authenticated client can send a PushTelemetry request with a small compressed payload that decompresses to a very large size, consuming broker heap out of proportion to the request size. Repeated or concurrent requests can exhaust the broker heap and cause an OutOfMemoryError, degrading or crashing the broker; a client that targets multiple brokers can affect cluster availability. PushTelemetry is available to any authenticated client and is not gated by an ACL. Mitigation: Upgrade to Apache Kafka 4.2.2, 4.3.1, or 4.4.0. On affected versions there is no configuration that fully prevents the amplification, because telemetry.max.bytes bounds only the compressed size; lowering telemetry.ma

Oct 28, 2026A Kafka broker using SASL/OAUTHBEARER with the default validator (sasl.oauthbearer.jwt.validator.class=DefaultJwtValidator) selects its implementation from confCVE-2026-110985 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.org
A Kafka broker using SASL/OAUTHBEARER with the default validator (sasl.oauthbearer.jwt.validator.class=DefaultJwtValidator) selects its implementation from configuration. When sasl.oauthbearer.jwks.endpoint.url is set, the validator verifies the JWT signature. When that URL is unset (the default) and no verification key resolver is supplied, DefaultJwtValidator silently falls back to ClientJwtValidator, which does not verify the JWT signature, algorithm, or issuer - and the broker starts with no warning or error. This is the residual of CVE-2026-33557, whose fix restored signature verification only on the path where the JWKS endpoint URL is set. Impact: A broker in this state accepts any structurally valid JWT, including "alg":"none" tokens. An unauthenticated remote attacker who can reach the listener can forge a token asserting any principal - including configured superusers - and gain full access to the cluster. Only brokers that enable SASL/OAUTHBEARER validation without a JWKS endpoint URL (and without a custom verification key resolver) are affected; brokers that set the URL verify signatures and are not affected. Unlike CVE-2026-110952 (issuer/audience not enforced by def

A Kafka broker that authenticates clients with SASL/OAUTHBEARER using the bundled JWKS-backed validator always verifies the JWT signature, but two further checks are only performed when explicitly configured: - The issuer (iss) claim is verified only when sasl.oauthbearer.expected.issuer is set. When it is unset, a validly-signed token carrying the expected audience is accepted regardless of which issuer minted it. - An audience (aud) claim is required only when sasl.oauthbearer.expected.audience is set. When it is unset, a validly-signed token that omits the aud claim is accepted. (A token that carries an aud claim is still rejected when no expected audience is configured.) Both options default to unset and have been documented as optional (Importance LOW) since KIP-768 (3.1.0). Impact: The exposure is realizable mainly in deployments whose JWKS endpoint serves signing keys for more than one issuer (a multi-tenant identity provider, an aggregated/shared JWKS, or shared signing keys): a token minted for a different issuer, or a token lacking an audience, may be accepted to authenticate — potentially as a higher-privileged principal. In a single-issuer deployment where the

Oct 26, 2026boneIO black_debian_images ships with a Mosquitto MQTT broker that uses the same default credentials on all devices.CVE-2026-77056 · Other software · boneIO · reported by cvd@cert.plHigh 7.1
boneIO black_debian_images ships with a Mosquitto MQTT broker that uses the same default credentials on all devices. These credentials are publicly documented on github, and there is no indication in the instructions to change them. A remote attacker can use them to gain full read and write access to the broker, allowing control of connected relays, blinds, and gates, and injection of fake entities into a linked Home Assistant installation. This issue was fixed in version 1.6.0 of the image: MQTT passwords are generated per device at first boot. Devices upgraded from earlier versions keep their existing broker credentials; from boneio 1.6.0 the web panel reports credentials that are still the published defaults, and the owner has to change them.

Oct 26, 2026boneIO Black stores passwords, including the MQTT broker and web panel passwords, in cleartext.CVE-2026-77054 · Other software · boneIO · reported by cvd@cert.plMedium 6.9
boneIO Black stores passwords, including the MQTT broker and web panel passwords, in cleartext. The GET /api/config endpoint returns the full configuration with sub-services passwords exposed. Any authenticated user can call the endpoint and access the administrative passwords in cleartext form. Critically, due to CVE-2026-77053 (authentication disabled by default), an unauthenticated attacker on the same local network can retrieve all passwords. This issue was fixed in version 1.6.0: web panel passwords are stored as salted scrypt hashes in a file readable only by the service account, and the API and logs no longer return secret values. The MQTT broker password has to stay recoverable because the application presents it to the broker as a client; it is kept in a separate file readable only by the service account and is no longer exposed through the API.

Oct 21, 2026The Pulsar Packages Management Service can be configured to store packages on the local filesystem of the broker by using the filesystem storage provider.CVE-2026-105945 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 7.7
The Pulsar Packages Management Service can be configured to store packages on the local filesystem of the broker by using the filesystem storage provider. Package names consist of a type, tenant, namespace, name and version. Authorization of package operations is based only on the tenant and namespace, while the storage location of a package is derived from all of these components. The version component of a package name was not validated, so it could contain URL-encoded path separators and parent directory references. The filesystem storage provider resolved such a version to a location belonging to a package in a different tenant or namespace. Because that location is inside the configured storage directory, the containment check that the filesystem storage provider performs in recent releases did not prevent the access. An authenticated user who has the packages permission on any namespace could use this to download, overwrite or delete packages stored in other tenants or namespaces for which the user has no permission. Packages overwritten or deleted in this way may be used by Pulsar Functions, Sources or Sinks, so the issue can affect the integrity and availability of these c

When a configured proxy role sends a request to the broker on behalf of another user (the original principal), the broker is designed to authorize both the proxy role and the original principal and to allow the request only if both are authorized, so that the original principal cannot exceed its own permissions. Two flaws weakened this check. First, the original principal was authorized with the proxy's authentication data instead of its own. On the admin REST API of the broker and the functions worker, this applied to every proxied request. On the Pulsar binary protocol, it applied when the proxy did not forward the client's credentials to the broker, which was the default of the Pulsar proxy in the affected versions. Authorization providers that resolve permissions from the role name only, such as the default authorization provider, are not affected by this flaw. The multi-role token authorization provider (MultiRolesTokenAuthorizationProvider), added in Apache Pulsar 2.8.1, resolves roles from the role claim of the token in the authentication data it is given. When a proxy authenticates to the broker with its own token, the original principal was therefore authorized with all r

Oct 21, 2026The Apache Pulsar broker admin REST API provides a truncate operation for persistent topics (DELETE /admin/v2/persistent/{tenant}/{namespace}/{topic}/truncate).CVE-2026-105934 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 7.2
The Apache Pulsar broker admin REST API provides a truncate operation for persistent topics (DELETE /admin/v2/persistent/{tenant}/{namespace}/{topic}/truncate). Truncating a topic moves all subscription cursors of the topic to the end of the topic and deletes the topic's inactive ledgers. Truncating a non-partitioned topic, or a single partition addressed by its partition name, correctly requires the tenant admin role or the superuser role. When the operation is requested for the name of a partitioned topic, the broker does not apply this tenant admin check to the caller. Instead, it truncates each partition using the broker's own internal admin client, which authenticates with the broker's configured client credentials rather than the caller's identity. Each per-partition truncate request is still checked for the tenant admin role or the superuser role, but against the broker's internal identity instead of the caller. The partitions are therefore truncated only when the broker's configured client role is a superuser or an admin of the target tenant, which is the usual configuration when authorization is enabled. As a result, when that condition holds, an authenticated user who is

Oct 21, 2026The Apache Pulsar broker admin REST API provides endpoints to read, set and remove the topic-level entry filter policy of a topic.CVE-2026-105932 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgLow 2.3
The Apache Pulsar broker admin REST API provides endpoints to read, set and remove the topic-level entry filter policy of a topic. For persistent topics these endpoints check that the caller is authorized for the entry filters topic policy operation. The corresponding endpoints for non-persistent topics (/admin/v2/non-persistent/{tenant}/{namespace}/{topic}/entryFilters) do not perform this authorization check. The only authorization check these endpoints perform is an indirect lookup permission check, made while the topic's partition metadata is retrieved; it is present in all affected versions. As a result, when authentication and authorization are enabled, an authenticated user who has been granted produce or consume permission on a non-persistent topic, or on its namespace, but not permission to manage the topic's policies can read, replace or remove the topic-level entry filter policy of that topic. These operations should be restricted to users with the tenant admin role or the superuser role. This impact analysis assumes that Pulsar has been configured with the default authorization provider. For custom authorization providers, the impact could be slightly different. The p

The Apache Pulsar broker exposes a transaction administration REST API under /admin/v3/transactions. When authentication and authorization are enabled, most of the read endpoints of this API verify only that the request is authenticated and that the broker serves the requested topic or transaction coordinator. They do not check whether the caller is permitted to access the tenant, namespace or topic whose data is returned. The endpoints that modify state, which abort a transaction or scale the transaction coordinators, correctly require super-user access and are not affected. As a result, any authenticated user, including one that has been granted no permissions, can read transaction coordinator and transaction information belonging to other tenants. This includes the list of transaction coordinators with the broker service URLs that serve them, transaction coordinator statistics and internal statistics, transaction metadata including the names of the topics and subscriptions a transaction involves and the principal that opened it, the list of long-running transactions on a transaction coordinator, transaction buffer and pending acknowledgement statistics and internal statistics f

The Pulsar broker serves two schema commands on its binary protocol: GetSchema, which returns the schema registered for a topic, and GetOrCreateSchema, which registers a new schema version for an existing topic. The broker handled both commands after checking only that the client connection was authenticated. Unlike the broker's other topic commands, such as those for creating producers and consumers or for looking up topics, these two commands did not check whether the authenticated client was authorized for the target topic. The Pulsar REST API endpoints for schemas were not affected. An authenticated client without any permission on the target topic, namespace or tenant could use these commands to: - read the schema registered for a topic in another namespace or tenant, disclosing the schema definition such as record field names and types. Message payloads are not disclosed. - register a new schema version on an existing topic in another namespace or tenant. The topic's schema compatibility and schema auto-update policies still apply. The issue does not allow message data to be read or modified, but a registered schema version can cause legitimate producers and consumers of th

Oct 15, 2026In authd before 0.7.1, the user identity matching in UpdateUser (internal/users/manager.go) resolves an incoming login by the broker-scoped provider ID, but falCVE-2026-102631 · Other software · Canonical · reported by security@ubuntu.comMedium 5.9
In authd before 0.7.1, the user identity matching in UpdateUser (internal/users/manager.go) resolves an incoming login by the broker-scoped provider ID, but falls back to matching the username when the provider ID does not belong to any known user, and does not reject a conflicting non-empty provider ID. If an identity provider reassigns an email address, which authd uses as the username, to a new account, the new account inherits the previous user's local UID and home directory on its next login. This allows the new user to access and modify files belonging to the previous user, including credentials such as SSH keys and cloud API tokens, and silently rebinds the local account record to the new identity. As a mitigation, administrators should lock or delete the previous user's local authd account when the corresponding IdP account is removed.

Oct 14, 2026RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker.CVE-2026-67418 · Other software · rabbitmq · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. From 3.13.0 until 3.13.19, 4.0.24, 4.1.15, 4.2.10, and 4.3.5, the MQTT 5 parser in deps/rabbitmq_mqtt/src/rabbit_mqtt_packet.erl accepts Request-Problem-Information on PUBLISH packets even though the property is valid only for CONNECT. An authenticated publisher with topic write permission can cause the broker to store and route that inapplicable property to a separately authenticated matching subscriber. When the subscriber path serializes the outbound PUBLISH, serialise_prop/2 has no matching clause, and the uncontained function_clause exception closes the victim MQTT or Web MQTT connection. The publisher connection and broker remain available, and queued replay, retained-message persistence, and broker-wide denial of service were not established. This issue is fixed in versions 3.13.19, 4.0.24, 4.1.15, 4.2.10, and 4.3.5.

Oct 14, 2026RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker.CVE-2026-67416 · Other software · rabbitmq · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. From 4.0.0 until 4.0.24, 4.1.15, 4.2.10, and 4.3.4, the optimized AMQP 1.0 server_mode parser in deps/amqp10_common/src/amqp10_binary_parser.erl matches the textual prefixes of symbolic data, sequence, and value body descriptors without verifying their encoded symbol lengths. An authenticated AMQP 1.0 publisher with write permission can submit a well-formed unknown descriptor that begins with a registered body descriptor, and RabbitMQ misclassifies and stores the bytes as a standard body section. Strict AMQP 1.0 consumers can terminate while decoding the stored entry. For bodies misclassified as data, AMQP 0-9-1 or other cross-protocol conversion performs full body decoding and can terminate the consumer protocol process, with acknowledgement-required delivery permitting repeated failures. Sequence and value classifications are normally transported as opaque encoded payloads on that conversion path. The broker remains alive, and the issue does not bypass routing or authorization. This issue is fixed in versions 4.0.24, 4.1.15, 4.2.10, and 4.3.4.

Oct 14, 2026RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker.CVE-2026-67414 · Other software · rabbitmq · reported by GitHubMedium 6
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. From 4.0.0 until 4.0.24, 4.1.15, 4.2.10, and 4.3.4, deps/amqp10_common/src/amqp10_binary_parser.erl materializes each element of AMQP 1.0 arrays whose shared constructor has zero width, while limiting only the number of elements in each array and not the aggregate arrays in a frame. After completing SASL authentication, a low-privilege client can send an ordinary frame containing many individually permitted arrays, causing a small frame to expand into a very large reader-process heap before later frame validation or authorization. Because deps/rabbit/src/rabbit_amqp_reader.erl clears the pre-authentication max_heap_size guard after login, repeated or concurrent frames can trigger the node-wide memory alarm, block publishers, or exhaust broker memory. This issue is fixed in versions 4.0.24, 4.1.15, 4.2.10, and 4.3.4.

From version 0.9.6 until version 0.10.0, the pacioli-guard document-layer consent gate allows nested cancellation operations to ride any consent established by an enclosing governed act without checking whether the marker authorizes cancellation. A credential with API Key Scope.require_consent can submit a caller-controlled Sales Invoice or other supported document under a valid human-minted submit marker and reach Document.cancel() for a different pre-existing submitted document, bypassing the marker's document and act binding, single-use spend, and denial audit. The unauthorized cancellation can reverse the target document's ledger effect; principals without a consent-gated grant are not affected. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.

CWE-306: Missing Authentication for Critical Function in the ait.core.server telemetry and command broker (ait-server) in NASA-AMMOS AIT-Core through 3.1.1 allows an unauthenticated remote attacker with network access to the ZeroMQ message bus to inject spacecraft command data, exfiltrate command and telemetry traffic, inject forged telemetry, or disrupt the command and telemetry bus. The ait-server ZeroMQ broker binds its XSUB and XPUB sockets to all network interfaces by default without authentication or transport security. An attacker able to reach TCP port 5559 can publish messages onto internal topics, including the __commands__ command topic. With the shipped default configuration, command messages are forwarded through command_stream and emitted on the command-uplink UDP path. An attacker able to reach TCP port 5560 can subscribe to command and telemetry traffic on the ground bus. AIT-Core 3.1.2 changes the default ZeroMQ bind addresses to loopback.

Armatura One stores database and message-broker credentials in an install configuration file, encrypting them with AES-128-CBC when this protection is enabled. The encryption key and initialization vector are fixed values embedded in the software itself and are identical across every installation. An attacker with a copy of the installation package can recover this key and initialization vector, and can then decrypt the stored credentials of any specific installation to which the attacker separately obtains the encrypted configuration file.

Sep 25, 2026RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker.CVE-2026-67421 · Other software · rabbitmq · reported by GitHubMedium 4.5
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. From 3.13.0 until 3.13.19, 4.0.24, 4.1.15, 4.2.10, and 4.3.5, RabbitMQ Management rendered an AMQP authorization-error reason containing an attacker-controlled queue name as HTML when the OAuth management UI was enabled. Exploitation requires an attacker with queue configure permission, a management administrator who can see but cannot read that queue, and the administrator clicking Get Message(s). A queue name containing a base element can then retarget the automatic relative refresh because the Content Security Policy omits base-uri and connect-src, and an attacker endpoint that permits the management origin through CORS can receive the victim's Authorization header. This issue is fixed in versions 3.13.19, 4.0.24, 4.1.15, 4.2.10, and 4.3.5.

RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. From 3.13.0 until 3.13.19, 4.0.24, 4.1.15, 4.2.10, and 4.3.5, RabbitMQ OAuth credential refresh retains revoked runtime tags. when an existing AMQP connection refreshes from an OAuth token that grants the impersonator tag to a valid same-username token that no longer grants that tag, RabbitMQ updates the OAuth backend implementation (token/scopes/expiry) but leaves the connection's runtime #user.tags unchanged. rabbitaccesscontrol:checkuserid/2 then still honors the stale impersonator tag, so the connection (including newly opened channels) can continue publishing messages with a foreign AMQP userid after that privilege should have been revoked. RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to 4.3.5, an authenticated user who can bind a queue to a topic exchange and publish to it can use consecutive # segments in a binding key to make both topic matchers revisit the same trie-node and routing-key-suffix states without memoization. The matcher materializes duplicate destinations before deduplication, causing combinatorial CPU work and memory pressure that can disrupt routing for all tenants. Sep 25, 2026RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker.CVE-2026-67415 · Other software · rabbitmq · reported by GitHubMedium 5.9
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. From 4.2.0 until 4.2.9 and 4.3.3, the Shovel parameter parser converted attacker-controlled runtime parameter values into non-garbage-collected Erlang atoms before bounding them or checking a fixed allowlist. Exploitation requires network access to the Management HTTP API, valid credentials with both the management and policymaker tags, permission to set Shovel runtime parameters on a vhost, and the rabbitmq_shovel and rabbitmq_shovel_management plugins to be enabled. The attacker can exhaust the node-wide atom table and deny service, and malicious parameters are stored durably and reparsed when workers start, so atom pressure can recur after restart without a live attacker connection.
