  • Sep 17, 2026Speakr is a personal, self-hosted web application designed for transcribing audio recordings.CVE-2026-54510 · Other software · murtaza-nasir · reported by GitHubHigh 7.1

Speakr is a personal, self-hosted web application designed for transcribing audio recordings. Prior to 0.8.21-alpha, the csrf_exempt_for_api_tokens() before_request hook in src/app.py calls csrf.exempt(view_func), permanently adding the selected view to Flask-WTF's process-global exemption set. The is_token_authenticated() function in src/utils/token_auth.py calls extract_token_from_request() and treats any present token, including request.args.get('token'), as authenticated without hashing the token, querying the database, or checking validity. A network-reachable attacker can therefore send a false token to disable CSRF protection for the targeted view for the worker lifetime. Because the exemption applies to the view function across HTTP methods, a cross-origin GET to /account with a query token can poison CSRF state for a later state-changing POST without triggering CORS preflight. This browser sequence requires attacker-controlled content on a sibling subdomain under the documented cookie conditions. The bypass can modify profile data, custom prompts, transcription settings, preferences, and administrative status through routes such as admin_toggle_admin. The change_password r

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: phy: clean the sfp upstream if phy probing fails Sashiko reported that we don't call sfp_bus_del_upstream() in the probe failure path, so let's add it, otherwise the sfp-bus is left with a dangling 'upstream' field, that may be used later on during SFP events. This issue existed before the generic phylib sfp support, back when drivers were calling phy_sfp_probe themselves.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pinctrl: canaan: k230: Fix NULL pointer dereference when parsing devicetree When probing the k230 pinctrl driver, the kernel triggers a NULL pointer dereference. The crash trace showed: [ 0.732084] Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 0000000000000068 [ 0.740737] ... [ 0.776296] epc : k230_pinctrl_probe+0x1be/0x4fc In k230_pinctrl_parse_functions(), we attempt to retrieve the device pointer via info->pctl_dev->dev, but info->pctl_dev is only initialized after k230_pinctrl_parse_dt() completes. At the time of DT parsing, info->pctl_dev is still NULL, leading to the invalid dereference of info->pctl_dev->dev. Use the already available device pointer from platform_device instead of accessing through uninitialized pctl_dev.

Speakr is a personal, self-hosted web application designed for transcribing audio recordings. Prior to 0.8.20-alpha, the is_safe_url() helper used to validate post-login redirect targets applied urljoin(request.host_url, target) before parsing, while the controller passed the raw target to redirect(). A scheme-relative input such as ////evil.com resolved to a same-host URL during validation but was emitted verbatim in the Location header, where the browser interpreted it as a network-path-relative redirect to an attacker-controlled host. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.8.20-alpha.

  • May 25, 2026Archive::Tar versions before 3.10 for Perl allow memory exhaustion via attacker controlled entry size field in tar header.CVE-2026-9538 · Other software · BINGOS · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eHigh 7.5

Archive::Tar versions before 3.10 for Perl allow memory exhaustion via attacker controlled entry size field in tar header. _read_tar() reads each entry's payload with $handle->read($$data, $block), where $block is derived from the entry's 12-byte size field in the tar header with no upper bound on that value. A crafted header declaring a multi-gigabyte size causes Perl to allocate a scalar of that size.

Archive::Tar versions before 3.08 for Perl extract hardlinks to attacker controlled paths outside the extraction directory. _make_special_file() passes the tar header's linkname to link() without validating it against absolute paths or .. segments, creating a hardlink that shares the victim file's inode. A subsequent write through the extracted name modifies the victim file, and the post-extraction chmod, chown, and utime block in _extract_file() (guarded only against symlinks via -l) applies the tar header's mode, owner, and timestamps to the shared inode during extraction alone.

5ire is a cross-platform desktop artificial intelligence assistant and model context protocol client. Prior to version 0.15.3, an unsafe HTML rendering permits untrusted HTML (including on* event attributes) to execute in the renderer context. An attacker can inject an `<img onerror=...>` payload to run arbitrary JavaScript in the renderer, which can call exposed bridge APIs such as `window.bridge.mcpServersManager.createServer`. This enables unauthorized creation of MCP servers and lead to remote command execution. Version 0.15.3 fixes the issue.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: PM: hibernate: defer device probing when resuming from hibernation syzbot is reporting hung task at misc_open() [1], for there is a race window of AB-BA deadlock which involves probe_count variable. Currently wait_for_device_probe() from snapshot_open() from misc_open() can sleep forever with misc_mtx held if probe_count cannot become 0. When a device is probed by hub_event() work function, probe_count is incremented before the probe function starts, and probe_count is decremented after the probe function completed. There are three cases that can prevent probe_count from dropping to 0. (a) A device being probed stopped responding (i.e. broken/malicious hardware). (b) A process emulating a USB device using /dev/raw-gadget interface stopped responding for some reason. (c) New device probe requests keeps coming in before existing device probe requests complete. The phenomenon syzbot is reporting is (b). In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: regulator: dummy: force synchronous probing Sometimes I get a NULL pointer dereference at boot time in kobject_get() with the following call stack: anatop_regulator_probe() devm_regulator_register() regulator_register() regulator_resolve_supply() kobject_get() By placing some extra BUG_ON() statements I could verify that this is raised because probing of the 'dummy' regulator driver is not completed ('dummy_regulator_rdev' is still NULL). In the JTAG debugger I can see that dummy_regulator_probe() and anatop_regulator_probe() can be run by different kernel threads (kworker/u4:*). I haven't further investigated whether this can be changed or if there are other possibilities to force synchronization between these two probe routines. On the other hand I don't expect much boot time penalty by probing the 'dummy' regulator synchronously.

  • Feb 26, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: dsa: fix panic on shutdown if multi-chip tree failed to probe DSA probing is atypicalCVE-2022-49195 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: dsa: fix panic on shutdown if multi-chip tree failed to probe DSA probing is atypical because a tree of devices must probe all at once, so out of N switches which call dsa_tree_setup_routing_table() during probe, for (N - 1) of them, "complete" will return false and they will exit probing early. The Nth switch will set up the whole tree on their behalf. The implication is that for (N - 1) switches, the driver binds to the device successfully, without doing anything. When the driver is bound, the ->shutdown() method may run. But if the Nth switch has failed to initialize the tree, there is nothing to do for the (N - 1) driver instances, since the slave devices have not been created, etc. Moreover, dsa_switch_shutdown() expects that the calling @ds has been in fact initialized, so it jumps at dereferencing the various data structures, which is incorrect. Avoid the ensuing NULL pointer dereferences by simply checking whether the Nth switch has previously set "ds->setup = true" for the switch which is currently shutting down. The entire setup is serialized under dsa2_mutex which we already hold.
